went to a movie and had to deal with a bunch of crazy teenagers in the movie theater shannon became a movie theater Karen yesterday.

I did. That's what Lucy and Smith were calling me all last night after we got back. They were like, Mom, we've never seen you act like this before. The funny thing is, It had to be a good reason, though. Smith was actually wearing a t-shirt under his sweatshirt that said, Okay, Karen.

Wow. It was so fitting. By the way, real quick, before you tell this story, happy birthday to Lucy. Yeah. Shannon became a mom how many years ago today? Eleven. Eleven years ago.

I was very actively trying to push that sweet little girl out of my body at this time. Not fast enough for Mojo, who thought she should have arrived by the end of the show, 1030. She came into this world at 1054 a.m.

You know what, though? That's a perfect time. That was a perfect time for her.

Fashionably late. Yeah. So I took the kids. Random last minute. Smith's lacrosse practice got canceled. So they have been dying to see a Minecraft movie. And I thought, perfect night for it. Random Monday night. There's probably not going to be a lot of people there. We have the time. it was one of those situations where we walked into the theater and it was a smaller theater. And as soon as we sat down, I knew it was going to be bad because we, there were two separate groups of teenagers, probably between the ages of 13 and 16 on both sides of the theater all the way in the back. And they were rowdy right when we walked in for like the last couple of previews. And I'm like, dang it, this is not going to be good. You know, you can kind of already tell. And I was right. As soon as the movie started, they were screaming randomly at the movie screen. Like, they would just do that randomly. They were screaming the F word.

They were trying to throw things like loudly screaming at the top of their lungs.

They were throwing things from one side of the theater to the other, running up and down the stairs. I mean, it was just nonstop talking. And I'm usually pretty cool in these situations. Like I can deal with a lot. but about 10 minutes into the movie I thought I'm not doing this especially when they started swearing and stuff I was like there are other little kids in here my kids actually were not that bothered by it and so I looked at Lucy and she knew I was mad and I went to get up to go get somebody and she's like please mom please mom don't I was like uh uh I went out got somebody and I just said I'm so sorry to be that person but there are some teenagers in the theater and they're just being like super ridiculous and so this woman came in and like tried to settle them down I guess they did not care 20 minutes later doing the same thing and um Another dad, I could tell, was getting agitated as well. He was there with three little kids, and I saw him get up and go out, and so somebody came back in. 20 minutes later, same thing. I got up again. I'm like, I am so sorry. Auditorium One is just like a spit show. Can somebody please just come in and sit or talk, like, talk to them or kick them out? I don't even know what to do.

Where's the security guard with the flashlight? These kids did not care.

I mean, these poor employees for the movie theater came in several times, and they just didn't care. and so there was probably a half an hour left of the movie and i was so irritated you guys like i feel myself fuming and so i'm like well this is gonna be a topic tomorrow morning and i started filming them with my phone now mind you i was not bothering anybody else there was nobody sitting no flash on i can show you and they were like bro she's recording us bro bro who are you who are you recording and i was i just i didn't even know why i was doing that i just thought oh it'll be good audio for the morning which i can't even like they were swearing but um i guess it did suck it totally ruined the entire movie for us it's funny even though smith said it was the best movie he's ever seen in his whole entire life so if you've been thinking about going to see it go

see it but it's we've all been teenagers before but you kind of got to know your crowd right you're a bunch of teenagers swearing you got young kids like smith and lucy and i felt i

truly felt like a Karen my second time out I was like god dang it I hate to say this this is the

reason why like malls won't let you come in unless you have like certain malls will say you can't come in I mean I think that some of the malls will say you can't come in unless you have an adult with you because they're worried about them getting robbed or something like that but I feel like you like you're you're making it bad for everybody else that you guys are acting like dicks and I remember being that age movie theaters we goofed and stuff but we would always make sure that we weren't bothering people but also um like they're the fact that that that the the movie theater couldn't shut them up that's the real problem like that's where you want paul glans

to walk in himself like an hour with his cane on yeah and here's the thing i know for a while some movie theaters had like rules that you couldn't come without an adult after a certain time i i honestly don't even think because that ruins it there are there are a good chunk of teenagers like kids this age that are really well behaved their parents can drop them up and they can go in and sit through a movie and be perfectly fine it's just these kind of a-holes

you should have taken pictures i did but you should take pictures and we should post the pictures of the kids and say are these your kids because if they are you're not doing a very good

job i feel like they should have been pepper spray pepper spray i agree with you at certain point i'm okay with pepper spray at that point it is nothing worse than having a build-up of seeing a movie you want to watch yeah and having kids in the back just not give a f and go crazy

and then lucy was worried because i went out to thank the two employees that came in i'm like thank you guys you have the hardest job i'm so sorry you had to deal with this all night all night and they said it's a thing with this movie there's some sort of social media challenge which

know the whole story i just saw like a little clip yesterday because i thought we would go see the movie too and i it just said something about uh in other cities that they're like the kids are going viral making you know a ruckus during the movie causing issues and um i didn't read the whole article but you might want to google it because it is a thing so i think it's happening

if that's a thing to the movie, then you up the people that are sitting in the movie theater watching these things and go, all right, you're not making this a thing in my movie theater. You know what I mean? I don't know what I mean.

It's a thing to scream out the F word like that. I don't know. I've seen this. I haven't watched any of the videos, but on TikTok there is a thing where they're filming lots and lots of teenagers and kids and movies. Really? They're standing up throwing popcorn screaming going crazy what in the heck is what's up jake yeah yeah this is uh

it's like a meme this minecraft movie with the kids i've got little siblings and they're throwing popcorn so you should have expected it shannon i kind of feel bad for you but um i had no idea

but how is that enjoyable to watch a movie and have some uh dickheads doing this i think it's

I think it's kind of like a, you know, cheesy movie in general. So, like, that's the reason the kids are doing it. Really? Look at the box office.

That's crazy. I know. It's top of the box office. I just, all night long, the kids were like, my mom is the biggest care.

Hold on. Misfit Victor, did this happen to you when you went and saw it with your kids?

hey good morning guys no i went i went saw the movie on saturday with my kids and there are no issues at the theater after the theater we went to uh chick-fil-a for dinner and same thing exact same thing shannon group of kids sitting there screaming yelling throwing stuff at each other so i pulled out my phone i recorded them i took pictures and posted it on next door and i said if these are your kids you have failed as parents these kids are complete morons And it's funny, though, because, like, 95% of people agreed with me. Like, kids are so bad. There's people that are, teenagers will be teenagers. No, I was a teenager. I wasn't screaming the F-bomb. I wasn't throwing food and acting like a moron in public places like this. It happens at Walmart. It happens at Target. It happens kids riding bikes through the aisles, bouncing basketball. Oh, I did that. You never did that? Like, complete idiots. No, I never did that. I'll tell you this, the Walmart by my house, I've thrown out probably six or seven people out of that store. I don't even work there.

The funny thing is, Victor, with these guys doing this thing is, yeah, okay, it's kind of fun to ride a bike through a store and whatever, but put the bike back where it belongs afterwards and do it. But this is a sign that we're all getting old, that we're all like, these guys are a-holes.

As I marched out of this theater the second time, I could feel my face was so hot. I was so pissed, and I'm like, I am that person. I know it, but I was so irritated, and at one point, Victor, one of the kids was like, dude, bro, she's going to kick your ass, and Smith turns around, and he goes, oh, trust me, she will.

Real quick, I was at Walmart one time, and this kid kept blowing this whistle, like, throughout the whole entire store, and I found him. I walked up to him. I said, hey, man, do that again. He says, huh? I said, do that again. You're hilarious. I don't want to. I go, please do it again. You are the funniest person I've ever met in my whole entire life. And he went and do it. I said, do it. He said, no. I said, get the hell out of the store. He said, do you work here? I said, no. That's why I have no problem slapping the spit out of you.

You got to use your finger next time. Oh, my gosh. This is crazy. This is why I sit on my couch. What's going on? Misfit Nicole. What's up, Nicole?

You know what, Shannon? I'm like that, too. When I see kids acting up, I was just telling Lydia, I'm always in teacher mode. Like, I was in Dollar Tree the other day. These kids were acting up. And I was like, would you do this in school? And they were like, kind of like, yeah. And then their mom was there. And I'm like, hey, you know, sometimes moms will be in stores. And I know these are teens that Shannon was around, but little kids cut up too, you know, and then they just don't say anything and they just let the kids, and Dollar Tree workers, they're tired. You don't have time to be disciplined, kids. It's your kids under control, people.

Hi. I just wanted to say I'm having a birthday party for my soon-to-be seven-year-old on Saturday in Brighton, and we rented out one of the little theaters in Brighton, and Shannon and her kids are totally invited to do that. Oh, that's sweet. That's so sweet. It's a Minecraft movie.

That's awesome. It is a really great movie, by the way.

Yeah. I love Jack Black, so I'm really excited, but he is so excited. I have three boys, so they're pumped, and they're little friends, But there's no teenagers, so if you did want a do-over, you're more than welcome.

And by the way, if anybody needs security, Victor will be there for security. How great is that? He's patrolling the Walmart parking lot. Crazy. Oh, my God. It's nuts. By the way, you should see all these texters that are texting in, including Jennifer. Jennifer, you were on a date last night at the movie, and these kids did the same thing at the movie while you were on a date?

uh yeah it was actually last fall but we so my fiancee and i we hadn't had a deep night in forever we really needed it and we went to eat go to the movies after and there were kids like teenagers on the last two rows doing the same thing cussing yelling and they were doing it during previews and i said okay i'll wait and see if they stop during the movie when the movie starts it did not stop. So I was getting really irritated and fed up and I went out and I told somebody and I had to go out twice before they sent like security up to, you know, talk to them.

And then it still kept going.

So frustrating because you spend so much money getting tickets and the popcorn and you can't even enjoy the movie. That's crazy. And I want people to continue to go to the movie theater.

Like there is no, there is nothing like seeing, especially like for Lucent's, but they've been waiting to see this movie forever. There is nothing like seeing a movie you've been waiting to see at the movie theater. See, waiting until it comes at home. It doesn't even do it justice, but it's, it's situations like this where you're like, can't

these teenagers go back to the day when we all would go to the movie theaters just to hope that a girl would actually fool around with us when we were teens? Did you ever do that?
