I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, But it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years, were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

All right, it is Mojo in the Morning show. So Shannon had a thing happen to her that honestly, I think she's way too honest about. I think she should have done what 99.9% of people were going to do and just be quiet.

Let's call it my big fat paycheck because normally my paycheck is not a big fat paycheck. And so you know how when you know it's payday and you're like, oh, we got paid today. So, like, I went to check what the current balance was in my checking account because we had just gotten paid. And I know what I normally get paid, you know, about. And so I check my account and I realize I'm checking on my phone. I realize I have a ton of money in it. Like, not a normal amount of money has been deposited from iHeartMedia, okay? My paycheck from the radio station was absolutely astronomical. And so you saw me come in and I said to you, I was like, something happened. So I get onto this little app that we have to see our paycheck stubs because I'm like, something is weird here. And I see that there is some sort of bonus on my paycheck that I know definitely did not belong to me.

Like how much more? Are we talking like double more?

Oh, we are talking about, let me do the math of what I normally get.

Like percentage, I'm not going to get too, you know, personal with you, but like percentage-wise.

We're talking about eight times more than I normally get.

My name is Metarica Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.
