All right, it is Mojo on the morning show. So, Shannon, we were just having a discussion just a second ago off the air, and we were talking about this week. It's kind of an interesting week for you. I mean, how many years have you been divorced?

00:02:31 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 5:

Four.

00:02:31 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 3:

So four. It hasn't been that long.

00:02:33 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 5:

2019. Wow. 2019, 2020. Yeah.

00:02:35 - 00:02:43 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so four years divorced. You had a great moment. Big moment happened to you at the beginning of this year when you got engaged.

00:02:43 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 5:

I did. Yeah.

00:02:44 - 00:02:53 | Speaker 3:

But a moment that is happening next in the journey that you've been going on these last few years is going to be happening this weekend.

00:02:53 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. My ex-husband, my husband, is getting married this weekend.

00:02:57 - 00:02:59 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Yeah.

00:03:00 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 5:

How does that make you feel? I am feeling, Mike, to be honest with you, like 10 million emotions. That's even possible. But in my brain and my heart, it feels like that. Because it's like weird. still right even though it has been for it's still weird because it's you know it I don't know it's just weird it's sad I'm really happy for him um I'm still feeling like this many years out like shame that my marriage didn't work I'm happy that I'm happy I'm happy he's happy but it's still like this you know why is it sad um it's sad because I I feel like yes we are divorced but it is like like Wes and I were talking about this last night it's like a chapter is absolutely closing and not that I ever thought it was going to be reopened at least not recently I mean right after we got divorced I thought you know maybe there was some hope but this is like it's just a big step for him for me for the kids for everybody you know that that everybody is is moving on um is this

00:04:09 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 3:

common i wonder if this if you're somebody that's been through this where you and your you know spouse got divorced and then they got remarried is this a common thing right um because this is actually we've always talked and praised the co-parenting relationship that the two of you guys have had um but then we've also said uh boy it's it it does it does make it seem very hard because you guys do spend a lot of time together where there are couples that do have a little bit

00:04:38 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

of a separation between them you know i i've been talking to obviously my girlfriends about this and i am this in by no means is to you know lessen how i feel about my sweet fiance he's the most incredible man in the whole entire world, it is still really hard to walk through this part of being divorced, like when everybody moves on.

00:05:00 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 3:

And there are these big moments of, for example, a wedding, you know, my therapist was so funny the other day. She was like, OK, do you have a plan for that day? Because no matter what, no matter what stage you're at, as happy as as you are, are you going to be a tough day? No, I'm not going to be at the wedding. OK. Obviously, the kids are going to be at the wedding. But she's like, it's going to be a tough day. And you might be feeling like a lot of different ways and you need to have a plan. So she's like, what's your plan? And the thing that she recommended to me, was I kind of had a laugh because I loved the show Shrinking that Mojo recommended with Harrison Ford and Jason Siegel. And she literally said the same thing that Harrison Ford recommended to his patients on the show, which was look at photos, put on some sad songs, set a timer, cry your effing eyes out, do all of your grieving, and be done. Like be done with it. And just so, especially since I'm leaving for a vacation the next morning with the kids, and she's like, you don't want to have, you know, yuck feelings as you're embarking on this a great week with your kids.

00:06:03 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 2:

So get it out now. Is there a reason why you're not going?

00:06:06 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 3:

I mean, I wasn't invited.

00:06:08 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

Oh.

00:06:09 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 3:

Which I didn't expect to be invited.

00:06:11 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Do you have to be invited? No. Like the kids are invited? No. Oh, okay. So you just don't show up if you're not invited? That's like... Yeah, I don't do that. I don't know. Don't do that. What do you mean? Don't be wedding crashing on your ex's wedding. No, no. I feel like maybe it was one of those things where it's like, Especially don't do that

00:06:31 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 1:

Because we're off on Monday of next week And I want to make sure we're on the air I would break into coverage for that one No No you don't want to do that I'll be honest with you I think that it's probably good That you're not invited And it's probably good that he not be invited To your guys' wedding Because you've got to have this separation You guys are now parents with each other you guys are no longer you know husband and wife right and and i think that that is that's it and you're in and you know i i go back to what i said just a moment ago we all think it's wonderful how you co-parent but i knew that this was not going to be a good time for you and i knew it wasn't going to be a good time because you guys would spend a lot of time together after you guys went through your divorce and it was almost to a point where you guys would dinner all the time together you guys would hang with all each other you know you guys walk into each other's homes and do all that stuff and i thought to myself i'm like man is you know either both of you guys or one of you guys or who knows gets these the hope that you're going to possibly still be a relationship with each other you know yeah because i knew how you guys were as a couple when you guys were together yeah um so i think this is good i gotta be honest with you though i i i think that you should look at this as a party celebration like this is great this matter of fact we should throw him here you should throw him i'm not throwing i said i'm not throwing any bachelor parties you should throw him a party honest because it should be a celebration of it should be your celebration of this is it i would not you know move we're moving past this and i don't think you should ever look at your the the marriage failing as stop stop looking at that it's been four years you guys that's a moment of your life

00:08:21 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 3:

I'm your therapist I'm your therapist

00:08:25 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

no here's why I'm saying stop looking at it as that it was a fail that you feel like you failed and start looking at it as that was a moment in your life that made you a better mom a better now hopefully you know wife to

00:08:47 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

I agree with all of those things.

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 1:

You know what I mean?

00:08:49 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

00:08:49 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

Stop looking at the failure of things. Let's look at the positive of it.

00:08:52 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 3:

I mean, yes. I 1,000% agree with you. It's still emotional.

00:08:58 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. No, I don't think you should not have emotions.

00:09:01 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Happy for him. Kind of sad. I just feel like it's all over. Yeah, all over the place.

00:09:06 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 1:

You didn't buy a gift?

00:09:07 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 3:

I did buy them a gift, actually. Did you really? Yeah. I'm so confused right now.

00:09:11 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 2:

I did.

00:09:12 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 1:

Do they know what it is yet?

00:09:13 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 3:

No, I haven't given it to them.

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

Oh, boy.

00:09:15 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 2:

So we don't get invited. It's not anything weird. But I'm confused. There's so many unwritten rules here. I don't know. What would you do, Kev? First off, I feel like I should, regardless if I'm invited or not, I feel like I'm invited. I also think because...

00:09:29 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

Wait, so you would just... Yeah. If you're... Yeah, her name's Jasmine. Okay, I don't know if you're allowed to say her name. If Jasmine... Is Jasmine remarried?

00:09:37 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 2:

No.

00:09:37 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 3:

Okay, if she was getting married and she didn't invite you, you would just show up?

00:09:40 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 2:

See, I feel like we would have... I feel like you guys have had conversations about the wedding before, right? Like the kids are going...

00:09:46 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 3:

We really haven't, no.

00:09:48 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 2:

Oh, so it's just like the elephant in the room.

00:09:51 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 3:

It's not the elephant in the room, but I don't know a lot about what's going on. It's not really my business.

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. You know what I mean?

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 3:

I also feel like he and his new wife or fiance are not sharing with you the plans of anything other than the kids are going to be there. Like, you don't even know anything about the dresses.

00:10:11 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 4:

Well, like Lucy has told me what she's, you know.

00:10:13 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:10:14 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 4:

Well, I could say how I would want it to be. I would want it to be a situation where if Josiah's mom was getting married, he could look out and see that his dad is there supporting this new part of his life. Maybe that's where my mind is coming from. And hopefully, I feel like he should have invited you. If there's no beef there or wrong there, I feel like you should have been invited.

00:10:33 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 2:

I get that, but I will say that the kids know that I am incredibly supportive of this part of his life. Just how I speak about, you know, Andrew and his fiancee and the wedding and everybody, you know, moving in together. And so I would hope that they feel that way just based on how we're-

00:10:50 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 3:

Call us up right now and tell us who was invited to their ex's wedding. I want to know if there are people that were invited. I was asked to DJ an ex's wedding. You were not.

00:10:59 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 1:

What songs did you play? I didn't DJ it. I said no. I made up a reason why I couldn't do it.

00:11:04 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 4:

Could you imagine the songs he played? He don't satisfy you like I do. What is he playing right now?

00:11:13 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 3:

This is all breakup songs. Texters, by the way, they're coming in right now. I like this text, of course. uh 947 says wise words from la mojo i don't know why they gave me la mojo another one here says uh this is uh 313 says mojo that is the craziest crap that you could have ever possibly said uh 248 says cav that's not what you do you don't go to a wedding that you're not invited to uh and then another person here and i want to know what this reason is 248 says next topic Why is it? Do you feel like it's making you uncomfortable or it's making Shannon uncomfortable? She brought it up. I don't know.

00:11:55 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 2:

I am totally fine.

00:11:56 - 00:12:32 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I don't know. See, I like topics like this, and this is the reason why. Because so many times there are people that will sit there and go, oh, my God, everything is always rosy and happy and all this stuff. Not everything is happy. Not everything is a happy situation. And to hear you say that there is a bit of grieving and sadness that is going on in your life this week on what is supposedly a happy moment is very real for you to say that. And I think that that's excellent. What's up, Maggie? How you doing?

00:12:33 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 6:

I'm fine, thank you. How are you?

00:12:35 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 3:

We're doing okay. What's going on? You wanted to comment on this, Shannon, talking about how her ex is getting married this week?

00:12:41 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, Shannon, I know there may or there may not be any emotional feelings, but you need to let that all go. Deal with it. Let it go. And any type of feelings you may be feeling, because you don't want to carry that baggage onto your new relationship with Wes.

00:12:59 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 2:

Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. And it's not feelings about my ex. It's just the situation is, it's just an interesting one to walk through.

00:13:09 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 3:

You know what I wonder if this is the case, Maggie, is when you're a kid and you lived in your childhood home, and even though you haven't lived there for a while and haven't been there in a while, and somebody goes and changes something in the childhood home, like they paint the outside of the house, and you drive by, this happened to me, and I drove by it and I go, I haven't lived in that house in years. Why am I sad that they painted that house?

00:13:34 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 6:

Because you still have an emotional attachment to it. You're right.

00:13:40 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 3:

But I'm emotionally attached to everything, though.

00:13:44 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 2:

Shannon, you're going to be okay. Promise. Oh, I know. Thank you.

00:13:48 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:13:48 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 2:

Have a great day.

00:13:50 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 3:

231 says, recap, I just missed this. I just tuned in to you right now. Did she not get invited and wants to be?

00:13:57 - 00:13:58 | Speaker 2:

Nope.

00:13:58 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 3:

Okay, yeah, you never said that.

00:13:59 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 2:

It was quick.

00:14:01 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 3:

I get it, though. I wouldn't want to watch that.

00:14:03 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 2:

No, but also, I respect his decision. See, I'd want to be invited. I get that. What?

00:14:08 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 1:

Why? Um, because it's your family. Yeah, well. He's always going to be the father of your kids and life moments and being there for the kids. I don't know. Then again, I didn't go through it, so who knows?

00:14:22 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Eric, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:14:26 - 00:14:40 | Speaker 5:

Oh, yeah, I was calling because I was going to, I agree with Kevin with the whole thing about going to the wedding. Because at the end of the day Even though Shannon had a failed marriage You should still be happy that your partner Your ex-partner is happy

00:14:40 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 2:

I am so happy for him You might have missed me saying that Absolutely Yeah

00:14:44 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 5:

Absolutely

00:14:46 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 3:

Yeah Alright, thank you for the call By the way, she jumped Are you scared to say anything else right now? No, not at all Not at all

00:14:56 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 2:

I just don't want people thinking anything other than that

00:14:58 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

You're in trouble

00:15:00 - 00:15:03 | Speaker 5:

She said, I am so happy.

00:15:05 - 00:15:07 | Speaker 1:

Colleen, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:15:08 - 00:15:09 | Speaker 4:

Never being honest again.

00:15:10 - 00:15:10 | Speaker 1:

What's up?

00:15:11 - 00:15:21 | Speaker 4:

Hey, so we actually, oh, I just got remarried and so did my now husband, but his ex brother in law was our best man. Oh, wait.

00:15:22 - 00:15:22 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

00:15:22 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 4:

Your husband's ex brother. Oh, okay.

00:15:25 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 1:

Yes.

00:15:26 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 4:

So I love that.

00:15:27 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. That, that is wild. Well, I actually honestly think that what should happen is that you, Shannon, should actually give him away. Like, walk him down the aisle. There you go. Should officiate it. Could you imagine that, by the way? I wonder if there's any people that have ever had that happen before, where their ex was getting married and they said, hey, will you walk me down the aisle to the ex-husband? What's up, Chris?

00:15:54 - 00:16:00 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I'd agree with you 100%. mothers and we should just have a big old party and celebrate everybody moving on this is a great

00:16:00 - 00:16:37 | Speaker 1:

time i feel like it's a great moment and you know can i tell you something this is a great moment too in regards to the fact that shannon you are going to be with your kids the day afterwards and you get to celebrate with your kids yep yep you know you said you're going away the next day so it's a really cool moment for them and i i get where your point also is that you're worried about your kids too because there's so many changes going on in their lives for sure but they're positive changes Just knowing the situation and circumstances of obviously knowing Wes, but then also getting a chance to know, you know, Andrew and seeing him and stuff and seeing he's happy and things are great. The kids are going to have now two great, happy families, you know?

00:16:37 - 00:16:37 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:16:37 - 00:16:42 | Speaker 1:

Ray, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi, Ray.

00:16:43 - 00:16:44 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:16:44 - 00:16:45 | Speaker 1:

Hello.

00:16:45 - 00:16:56 | Speaker 3:

Ray. So, hey. Morning, longtime listener. Oh, yeah. So, long story short. Um, I took my ex-wife to the Chitty County building to file divorce papers from our second husband.

00:16:57 - 00:17:08 | Speaker 1:

You took, okay, hold on a second. You took, oh, so you took your ex-wife, who you were married to, to the courthouse to file divorce papers from who?

00:17:09 - 00:17:10 | Speaker 3:

Her second husband.

00:17:11 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 1:

Her second husband. So it was, so she was married after you guys got married and that relationship didn't go on. You guys are such good friends. You actually helped her with her divorce. Yeah

00:17:21 - 00:17:22 | Speaker 3:

Wow

00:17:22 - 00:17:25 | Speaker 1:

A little different Now that's a friendship Huh?

00:17:27 - 00:17:32 | Speaker 3:

Yeah And now she's remarried I'm remarried And we're still Just the best of our friends right now I love that

00:17:32 - 00:17:34 | Speaker 1:

Did you guys go to each other's weddings?

00:17:35 - 00:17:35 | Unknown:

No

00:17:35 - 00:17:47 | Speaker 1:

Okay So why not go to each other's weddings? If you're willing to be that friendly with each other Why would you not go to the weddings? Explain that to Kev And anybody else that feels like you guys Or Megan I know Also felt this too Like you guys should be at the weddings

00:17:47 - 00:17:55 | Speaker 5:

Well no I just I think being invited would be nice because then you have the option why why were you not at the wedding yeah i wasn't

00:17:55 - 00:18:01 | Speaker 3:

invited because her husband at the time felt that me and her were still messing around so he didn't

00:18:01 - 00:18:11 | Speaker 1:

want me there's a good reason okay we get that there's a little bit i wish i had close friends like that i can't even get a friend to let me borrow their truck to bring something to my house

00:18:11 - 00:18:28 | Speaker 4:

uh what's going on rachel hey yeah i was just calling in to comment that i actually was in my husband's wedding were you really i was yes so you you guys he married one of my friends

00:18:28 - 00:18:43 | Speaker 1:

were you a bridesmaid or were you a groomsman i was a bridesmaid wow so your best friend who he ended up marrying asked you or he said i want you to be in the wedding

00:18:43 - 00:19:02 | Speaker 4:

she did so we had been long time friends actually and when we divorced i i didn't really set them up but they got closer and i couldn't have been happier it's awesome that you guys can have

00:19:02 - 00:19:12 | Speaker 1:

that kind of a relationship obviously he wasn't cheating with your best friend or anything right oh gosh no no was cheating ever in the relationship or is it just that you guys grew apart

00:19:13 - 00:19:17 | Speaker 4:

We just grew apart. We actually, we just make better friends. We're best friends.

00:19:18 - 00:19:20 | Speaker 1:

Okay, that's good. And Darren.

00:19:20 - 00:19:22 | Speaker 5:

You're a better person than me.

00:19:22 - 00:19:22 | Speaker 1:

Really?

00:19:22 - 00:19:23 | Speaker 5:

I could never. Yeah.

00:19:24 - 00:19:32 | Speaker 1:

Do you think that, Megan, you know my relationship with Chelsea. If we ever got divorced, do you think we would be friends with each other after we got divorced? I don't know.

00:19:33 - 00:19:33 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I do.

00:19:33 - 00:19:34 | Speaker 1:

You know.

00:19:34 - 00:19:37 | Speaker 5:

I do. I think you would. I do.

00:19:37 - 00:19:40 | Speaker 1:

I really do think. I think, honestly, I think that.

00:19:40 - 00:19:42 | Speaker 5:

I don't love talking about this, but yeah, I do.

00:19:42 - 00:19:50 | Speaker 1:

I think that Chelsea and I would be the best of friends, and actually she would have said, wait a second, this is so much less pressure to have him asking me for sex all the time.

00:19:50 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 5:

We should have done this sooner. Okay, good point, good point. But could you imagine your, like, best friend getting with Chelsea?

00:20:00 - 00:20:25 | Speaker 6:

I hope she's listening. Yes. No, I don't. She's probably throwing up right now in her mouth knowing my best friend. No, I could not imagine that. But I can imagine getting with her best friend. Oh, my God. Hey, now. The topic needs to end. Oh, now. I want to support him. Next topic, just like that texter said.
