00:01:05 - 00:01:07 | Speaker 3:

Juliana, maybe we can ask an actual human.

00:01:07 - 00:01:16 | Speaker 5:

Yes, because I have questions and I bet you do too. Like, is it normal to sleep in separate bedrooms? We do that and I still need to know why my poop's been green.

00:01:16 - 00:01:21 | Speaker 3:

We've got actual people answering these exact questions. Listen to Bill and Juliana.

It's Mojo in the Morning Show. This story is a crazy one. We were doing a pre-show meeting and Shannon was talking about a guy that she had once encountered or been friends with. That sounds weird when I say encounter.

00:01:58 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 6:

No, we were actually very, very close friends. We were very close friends.

00:02:02 - 00:02:06 | Speaker 7:

Did you guys have, did you guys touch dirties at all? Never. Never?

00:02:06 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 6:

No, no, never. This is the craziest story, and I am still in the middle of going down the rabbit hole of this story. So I have talked about this guy in the past on the show. He's not necessarily the one who got away. I wouldn't call him that, but he's one of those guys that I didn't give a chance to, and he wanted to date me and I friend zoned him. But I, you know, have always thought, obviously not now, I'm very happily married, but he was that guy that I was like, oh, I wonder what would have happened if I had given him the chance. The what if guy. He's the what if guy. So before I moved back home to Detroit, I was living and doing a radio show in Atlanta. And when I was living in Atlanta, I was single and I was wandering around Ikea one day. And this guy, I don't know if I should say his name. I'm not gonna say his name. How about first name? No. Call him Doug. Can I guess it? There's too much about him. Just say K.

00:03:02 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 7:

Just say K.

00:03:02 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I'm going to call him P. His first name starts with a P. This guy was walking around Ikea. I was walking around Ikea. We ran into each other, and he randomly complimented my beanie that I was wearing my hat and made some sort of dumb joke. And we became fast friends from that moment until I moved to Michigan, so probably about a year, year and a half. Sweetest guy. I was kind of interested in somebody else at the time. So, you know, like I said, I friend zoned him. He was the guy who was just always there for me to pick up the pieces. He was there when I was lonely on Valentine's Day, planned like a really fun day for me, made sure that I had mace because I was living by myself and walking to my car early in the morning. Like we always went out for margaritas and tacos. The nicest guy, nothing ever happened, ever. He never tried anything. um we lost touch a couple of years ago when he he had changed his phone number but then he deleted his Instagram and that's how we would just like randomly catch up and say hi to each other well last Thursday Facebook told me it was P's birthday and I thought oh I didn't even know he had a Facebook because he had deleted his Instagram so I was curious and went to his page thinking I wonder what he's doing with his life right now is he married does he have kids where does he live because the last I knew he lived in Florida so I go to his page and I my you guys my heart stopped when I saw not messages of happy birthday from this year and last year but instead please and prayers for him to come home call his family be found be safe he's been missing for over a year wow like missing so then i'm like wait what like this is not real life we start digging yeah so i'm saying this to megan i'm telling her the story she knows about this guy so then i start googling

00:05:00 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 3:

He is missing. His family, his his sisters have been looking for him. And there are all there's a true crime podcast about his disappearance. You're kidding me. There are posters. There are police reports. There are I mean, I am going I am deep diving this thing. And then there's a video that he posted to YouTube telling this story about how he's safe. He is not a missing person. Please stop looking for him. He is happy, he is healthy He doesn't have his phone nor his wallet anymore So he can't reach out to contact people personally Which is weird And Megan looks at me and goes Shan, he's in a cult He joined a cult And cut off all ties But it, like That just doesn't happen

00:05:47 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 2:

That's wild

00:05:48 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 4:

But this absolutely was one of those cases Where so many police reports were filed That he was probably contacted Over and over and over again at whatever commune he's living at that he put a video out being like stop calling the cops I'm fine I'm an adult and this is the life that I'm choosing but he has cut off everybody and the

00:06:08 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 3:

last like of anything that video was done in July of last year and then there is nothing nothing on Google nothing on YouTube nothing on Instagram nothing nothing anywhere about this person just people are still begging for him to be found and come home.

00:06:26 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 4:

I'm personally begging for the information to join. That is a crazy story.

00:06:33 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

By the way, do you now regret that you friend zoned the poor guy? The poor guy had to go run to a cult?

00:06:39 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 3:

Well, I was telling Wes this story because I couldn't stop thinking about it. And Wes is like, dang, you should have just dated the poor guy. I know, the poor bastard. But then he goes, but then he'd probably really want to run away.

00:06:54 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 2:

But honestly. Has anybody ever had somebody that they've known join a cult like this? I've always wanted to know what it would be like to be in a cult.

00:07:03 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

And please, God, I hope that he's joined a cult and he's not truly missing or hurt or not alive anymore. Like, that's the lesser of the two.

00:07:11 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 2:

But if he answered and said, I'm fine, then he's fine. Or maybe he's just off the ranch a little. Or what is it? What's the term? He's off the.

00:07:21 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

It just made me sad and scared. Nicest human being. Our cults really like that.

00:07:26 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:07:27 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 2:

Like they really out here.

00:07:28 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 4:

I am the cult expert. I've been trying to join and lead one for a very long time. They're prevalent though. Yeah. And the way that they mostly work is by getting you to cut off communication with your family. But how are they recruiting? They. I don't know. A lot of it is like commune living. there is a sandwich shop on the west coast that like gets you to work there and then they can like they convince you hey you're working here we have these like communal housing so you can save up more money and then there from there just goes on and on and on but the primary like motive of all of these cults is to cut you off from any relationships on the outside so you

00:08:04 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 3:

can't leave and here's the crazy part he was very successful he was in med device sales very successful very smart person uh his he was really really close with his sister he was a great uncle he loved his niece like there was nothing like he didn't have a weird relationship with his family he had a ton of friends he had money he had a job a good job and that's where i'm like what in the

00:08:26 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 4:

heck happened some of them start as like wellness retreats and it's like we're just here to help you find your inner peace and it's if you stay here it'll help if you eat this like it just grows

00:08:38 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 2:

from there remember that cult that was just down the street from us here at the station there was the husband and wife oh the twin flames yeah the twin flames people they lived literally lived in farmington hills right down the street from our iheart detroit studios and they were a couple that lived there and people would travel from all over everywhere to be part of their like learning

00:08:58 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 3:

how to love well there's a local family who did you already say that the tiktok the dance cult yeah and the mom and the sister still live here and the dad still live here and they're still I got to be honest with you

00:09:09 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 2:

It's really depressing when cults don't even want you I guess Doesn't that suck

00:09:15 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 4:

It truly breaks my heart

00:09:17 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 2:

Maybe this poor guy Maybe this guy's not missing Maybe he's on search for you Shannon Maybe he's He's on search to figure out The missing love of his life

00:09:30 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 4:

Dude the moonies

00:09:31 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

What's up Sasha Hi

00:09:35 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 1:

Hi, I was calling first time long time. Hey there.

00:09:39 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

This is our cult. The first time long time cult.

00:09:43 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 1:

First time long time. Also, the term is off the grid.

00:09:46 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 2:

Off the grid. That's it. Thank you. I appreciate that.

00:09:49 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I want to live in a ship in the desert so bad.

00:09:52 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. What?

00:09:52 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

I was calling to say that the sorority, I won't say the name that I went to, that I was

00:09:59 - 00:10:01 | Unknown:

You

00:10:00 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 4:

in um it i would say there's similar things to a cult in the sorority right and so they like controlled what i ate and what i was like where i went and like who i dated and i didn't i didn't realize like it it was partially hazing but it it was also like very cultish and like even the initiation like we were down to like we had to wear like nude underwear and like wear a robe and, like, we went through, like, this really weird, like...

00:10:30 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 2:

Wait, why did they do this? Why did they care about your underwear?

00:10:34 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 6:

As somebody who was in a sorority, I feel like I have to say that was not my experience whatsoever. The initiation is, like, a thing, but nobody ever controlled what I ate or who I dated.

00:10:44 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 2:

But are you talking about a specific cult or are you talking about just sororities in general?

00:10:49 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 6:

I'm talking about, well, the sorority that I was a part of. That is not normal. Yeah. They contribute to eight? And her drawers. Yep. The dressing is not uncommon. That's not uncommon. That is not uncommon. Why do they care about your embrace? Like the Mormons have it. No, for the initiation. There are certain things that you wear for.

00:11:11 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 4:

Well, then it starts changing who you are as a person, so I can see how someone can, like, become brainwashed and become, like, you know, away from their family and their friends.

00:11:23 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 2:

Wow. That's nuts. What's going on, Lindsay? Hi.

00:11:27 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 3:

hi there how do you guys know that he's not dead and someone is posing like him like the carrie farber case where he uh the fellas i killed the the girlfriend and she was posing

00:11:38 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 6:

as her for a year or so well the video definitely is him unless it's ai which would be very strange because he's not like a celebrity um i mean jesus i hope that that is not the case That's deep

00:11:53 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 2:

That is interesting though To wonder if This guy has gotten himself Involved in a cult or maybe he's Just depressed And doesn't want to be around people Initial M voice disguised We're talking about some guy that was Really good friends with Shannon that Is we believe in a cult what's going on

00:12:14 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 1:

Yeah first time Caller long long time Living What's up um no this happened to my dad he my mom died a couple years ago mojo you can probably relate to this my dad started dating this woman met her in grief share they were engaged within three weeks he sold his house that we grew up in um cut off all communication from his kids and everybody no one's heard from him since january and he said i'm combining my finances with her we're buying a house together. And no, we've filed police report. We can't get a hold of him at all. Wow.

00:12:56 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 2:

Do you think that this woman is keeping him from you guys?

00:13:01 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 1:

A hundred percent.

00:13:02 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 2:

Yes. That's crazy. And she's probably spending all of his money or using all that

00:13:08 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 1:

money. Yeah, that's what we think. We think if this will be, if they've gotten married, it's her fourth husband. Each one has died. Each one has died?

00:13:18 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 2:

That doesn't make your dad skeptical.

00:13:21 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 1:

On the staircase?

00:13:22 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 2:

And worried.

00:13:24 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know. They fell. And so we drive by to see if we can see him out there, if he's still alive. Oh, God, that breaks my heart.

00:13:35 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 2:

And your dad and you guys had a great relationship before this.

00:13:40 - 00:13:41 | Speaker 1:

Great relationship, yeah.

00:13:42 - 00:13:43 | Speaker 2:

That is the power of the P.

00:13:43 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 1:

And the second she came into the picture, he completely cut us off and said, I'm focusing on my new life.

00:13:52 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 2:

I wonder if I'd be like that. I could see being brainwashed by sex. You know? It's a woman attractive.

00:14:03 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 1:

I mean, that's a compliment to Chelsea then, right?

00:14:04 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 2:

Well, you know, but seriously. Chelsea always thinks that I have no backbone with things. But maybe I would. Tell me what her first name is so that if I ever encounter her, I stay away. This woman. God, that's nuts. If that was my dad, honestly, I think you've got to kidnap your dad and bring him back.

00:14:27 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 6:

But these people try.

00:14:29 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 2:

No, I think you as the daughter need to kidnap your dad.

00:14:32 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 6:

No, I'm saying you try. They don't let you into their compounds. It's like, it is crazy.

00:14:37 - 00:14:50 | Speaker 5:

Dude, but we're not looking at this the right way. Like, who's paying the bills? Because I'd rather just join. Like, I'd rather just join you. You're telling me I can live somewhere rent-free? Kill me.

00:14:51 - 00:14:54 | Speaker 2:

Can you try to befriend this woman and see if then...

00:14:54 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

We've tried, because I think last fall he told me, if you don't have a relationship with her...

00:15:00 - 00:15:06 | Speaker 2:

Then you can't have a relationship with me. And I said, no, I don't need a relationship with her.

00:15:06 - 00:15:07 | Speaker 5:

That's nuts.

00:15:07 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's crazy. You know how everybody needs a job? Most cults need better PR departments. I work in communications and marketing. I can sell it, baby.

00:15:17 - 00:15:20 | Speaker 5:

You would want that. You would want to be part of this group.

00:15:20 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 3:

I can't believe how many texts we're getting from people who said this same thing happened to their dads.

00:15:25 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:15:25 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 3:

This is a thing.

00:15:26 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 5:

Actually, one of them is Initial B, who's on the phone with us. Your voice is guys, too. Your dad went through the same thing that this last caller did?

00:15:35 - 00:16:04 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, so it actually kind of, I have chills right now because she's saying it. And I'm like, oh, my God, that's what happened to my dad. They tried to take the house and ended up, I don't know if you can say, like, killed or murdering him. And they tried to take the house from him, but it wasn't, like, it wasn't written out that way. so then they got upset and then they try to do more things but yeah she needs to be very careful and probably call the fbi because that is definitely um and this has happened years and

00:16:04 - 00:16:09 | Speaker 5:

years ago but that's how did how did your dad meet this person do they like look at obituaries and

00:16:09 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 2:

notice that somebody died in the family no so um i don't i don't remember how they met um but it was like through mutual friends like just you know casually met and then all of a sudden like literally almost the same story.

00:16:25 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 5:

Wow, that's crazy. What's up, Dana?

00:16:29 - 00:16:30 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning, Mojo.

00:16:30 - 00:16:31 | Speaker 5:

What's going on?

00:16:32 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 4:

Oh, man, you guys are describing these cults and I'm listening, I'm like, man, this sounds like my marriage. My wife is the headmaster.

00:16:40 - 00:16:49 | Speaker 3:

Dana, you are going to get your butt handed to you when you get home if she hears this. I know she's listening. We're going to never hear from you again, Dana.

00:16:52 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 4:

Uh, hey, Mojo, I got a question for you.

00:16:54 - 00:16:59 | Speaker 5:

Uh, yes, as long as it's not me joining in some kind of a weird threesome with you and your wife.

00:17:00 - 00:17:03 | Speaker 4:

Go ahead. As much as I know you would enjoy that.

00:17:03 - 00:17:06 | Speaker 5:

Okay, what's up? What's your question?

00:17:06 - 00:17:09 | Speaker 4:

Oh, so I hear you watch 90 Day Fiance.

00:17:09 - 00:17:11 | Speaker 5:

I do, yes. Oh, God.

00:17:11 - 00:17:13 | Speaker 4:

Oh, you ever see Cousin Dana on there?

00:17:14 - 00:17:15 | Speaker 5:

Wait, is that your wife?

00:17:15 - 00:17:16 | Speaker 4:

That's him. That's me.

00:17:16 - 00:17:19 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that's you? Wait a second. No, that's you? I mean, you? You?

00:17:20 - 00:17:26 | Speaker 4:

That's crazy. I know. I've been wanting to tell you that. Really? Like, I come in every so often. Oh, my God. Yeah.

00:17:26 - 00:17:27 | Speaker 5:

Hold on a second.

00:17:27 - 00:17:28 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:17:28 - 00:17:32 | Speaker 5:

Where do you live? I live in Canton. Wait a second.

00:17:32 - 00:17:34 | Speaker 4:

I'm 10 minutes away from Gino.

00:17:34 - 00:17:44 | Speaker 5:

Really? I want to meet Gino's girl. Okay. Is there any way that you... Like, I told Chelsea that I think I would leave her for her.

00:17:45 - 00:17:58 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Are we still on the radio? Yes. Oh, absolutely. Wait, what do you got? You got something good? Yeah, but we can't talk on the radio.

00:17:58 - 00:18:02 | Speaker 5:

Is Jasmine as crazy as she appears on the show?

00:18:02 - 00:18:11 | Speaker 4:

No, no. She's actually saying... Jasmine is a good team player. She is a wonderful person. How do I find somebody?

00:18:12 - 00:18:17 | Speaker 5:

Tell Jasmine that she could do better than Gina.

00:18:17 - 00:18:26 | Speaker 4:

All right. What's your next meet and greet thing that you guys got on? Hey, give me four tickets to that, and I'll bring...

00:18:26 - 00:18:29 | Speaker 5:

Tickets to our rooftop party. Hold on.

00:18:29 - 00:18:30 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that one.

00:18:30 - 00:18:38 | Speaker 5:

So we got to have... Can we have you, your bride, and then will Gino and Jasmine come or no?

00:18:38 - 00:18:48 | Speaker 4:

Well, I know I could probably get Jasmine to come. my cousin gino is uh not not he's probably he's not game for a whole lot of stuff like that
