mojo in the morning show shannon hi kev how are you i'm good how are you i'm good man you seem to always have crazy stories about things that happen in the gyms that you go to okay this is not a story about the gym i go to i know we had we had planet fitness guy who was like in the corner doing crazy things all the You always have something going on in the gym.

00:02:28 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 4:

The noises that are completely unnecessary, by the way. Do you agree with me? Yeah, absolutely. It's so uncomfortable. What is it this time, man? Okay, so I feel like I want Lydia in the studio for this because her and I have been the ones talking about this. And I'm not going to say the name of this place. But Lydia and I have been talking about wanting to try Pilates.

00:02:47 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 8:

Okay.

00:02:47 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 4:

And I've never done Pilates before. I think that like the men and women who do Pilates, they have like rocking bodies. But it just like as a former ballet dancer, it is very intriguing to me because I think a lot of the moves like remind me of some stuff that we did in ballet. Anyway, there's this new studio that everybody is talking about and everybody has been recommending to me. It's kind of by my house. And so I checked out their social media. And their social media shows that in order to go to this particular place, at least to me, you have to be a skinny, ripped supermodel with long, gorgeous, flowing locks that are done, makeup, and an outfit that matches everybody else's outfit that goes there.

00:03:41 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 3:

Which costs $200.

00:03:42 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 4:

dollars and i am so i was talking to lydia about this i am so intimidated just by their social media or people i know that go there and then tag this place that i don't think i will ever go

00:03:56 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 2:

she didn't they even like they throw these little parties like these exclusive parties it's very like clicky to me and i feel like i wouldn't even fit in this click i just i would like when i go

00:04:07 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

to the gym I look like holy hell is because I don't care and I usually will go like depending on where I'm going I'll go in the sauna I mean like I come out of the place disgusting so I am not wearing makeup or doing my hair or I'll be honest sometimes I will wear like an outfit that I do feel kind of cute in but um for the most part I am not looking my best when I go and so to see this place as social media I'm like I don't I don't feel like I would fit in there

00:04:36 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 3:

is this a reformer place yeah they do both okay i don't know what it is about reformer pilates but it's a cult and you cannot change my mind about it no i do reformer pilates and there's

00:04:48 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 2:

only like three other girls and sometimes even guys that rotate in and out of there

00:04:51 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 3:

yeah because it's so expensive nobody can afford to go but let me tell you you have the same outfit as everybody else there the same like grippy socks the same hair clip because you have to have a claw clip but it has to be the flat one can't be the one that bulges out of your head it's it's a call i didn't even know they had a flat one what are you talking about oh girl it'll change your life you can lay down on a couch and you don't have a claw clip on

00:05:12 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 1:

the back of your head change your life this is interesting so are there rules to how you need to look when you go work out at places yeah do you feel like you need to get dressed up 844 mojo live 844-665-6548.

00:05:28 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

Why are you nodding your head yes, Dak?

00:05:32 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 1:

Even he doesn't know the call letters, so I have to give him the phone number.

00:05:36 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 6:

Oh, okay, okay, okay.

00:05:38 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to be honest with you, because when you started, you said people who do Pilates have rocking bods. I agree, but the exercises don't look that hard. They look like they be sliding on these little seats.

00:05:50 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 3:

It's going to watch NFL videos of players doing Pilates for the first time. It is hard.

00:05:54 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 2:

And it's those little, it's those micro movements that, especially with weight attached to them, like on a reformer. I say this like I know what I'm talking about, and I don't because I've never done it. But supposedly, it's very difficult.

00:06:06 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 3:

But I feel like this is spreading over into all gyms. Like, I'm very uncomfortable going to most gyms nowadays because I feel like unless you're wearing a $200 outfit, everybody's like, get out of the gym. Everybody's filming for social media now.

00:06:18 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 1:

That's a fact. So it's not just t-shirt in there. You got to come in with the leggings. They got to match. You got to have the shoes with the socks that are perfectly aligned.

00:06:25 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 2:

I mean, look at all these girls, Kev. As you would say, they are cold. They're gorgeous. Yes, this is this place I'm talking about.

00:06:32 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

Oh, damn. It's like a Vogue shoot.

00:06:35 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 3:

See? And what's crazy about that is they're using a film camera. Then they're scanning those in. Like the whole aesthetic of people in their social media.

00:06:43 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 2:

Every single person is beautiful. But it's too much. It's too much. It is a cold.

00:06:48 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 1:

Is that like a mean girls workout? Pilates? Like when you say it's got to be clicky, like it's like a certain type of club you got to get into. You got to get initiated.

00:06:59 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 3:

It's a blood donation. I don't think so. Somebody else drinks it. Do you remember when? Look at those abs. Megan Fox. That is a ring and necklace of blood.

00:07:07 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 1:

That don't even look real. Let's go to Connie. Connie, what's up?

00:07:12 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 6:

Hello, first time Bonsai. Yeah, Connie's on the phone. oh my gosh i've been trying to get on the radio forever um i was just wondering how to do a pilates i don't even know how to do it somebody show me i mean i'm saying for a person on a weight loss journey i lost 185 pounds well you need to be teaching a class connie connie that's incredible i'm trying to say i'm just saying 185 you know just changing your diet and you know i I was on the shot for a while. Okay. You know, and Megan, I just want to say, Megan, you inspire me. I love you. I love you. Thank you. And Shannon, I love you, too. I love you, too. You're awesome. And I don't know where Mojo is, so I'll give him a big up. And I met Mike at Faster Horses, and I was like, you know, I listened to you for a while, Mike, but I had to come back to you guys. We love you, too.

00:08:05 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 1:

We appreciate you coming back, honey. And thanks for inspiring other people as well. We love you. 185, no matter how you do it, that's impressive, and you should feel really good about yourself.

00:08:15 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 6:

I really do. And I just want to say y'all were a big help in that. Like, listening to you guys and hearing the stories. And I wish Mojo was on there telling him, too. I love you guys. Thank you.

00:08:26 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 1:

Oh, we love you, too. Let's go to Nikki. Nikki, what's up? Nikki, you there?

00:08:34 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 5:

Yes, I'm here. Good morning. Good morning, Nikki. First time, long time. Yes, back to back. Nikki on the phone. um I just wanted to call in and say I'm cracking up over here because um I'm like totally not skinny and my friend convinced me to go to Pilates with her once and so I went in and like my typical gym attire like a sweatshirt and leggings and they're like telling us to do the things on the reformer and I'm like shaking like heavy like shaking on the reformer um but honestly I just wanted to say Shannon like it ended up being one of my favorite classes and I did end up going back And I really think it has to do with the instructor and the place that you're going. So I definitely think you should do it. Okay, thank you.

00:09:19 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 1:

Thanks for that motivation. It sounds like Shannon should host a class and we should all go and have listeners go.

00:09:25 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 2:

If you guys go with me, okay. I would do, that would make me less intimidated by it.

00:09:31 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 1:

I think people would come support you.

00:09:33 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:09:33 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 1:

Ruby. Hey, Ruby.

00:09:36 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning, guys. How are you?

00:09:38 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. We're good. How are you?

00:09:40 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

I'm doing okay. Yeah, I'm on my way to my first day of nursing school. Oh, congratulations. I wanted to make a comment about what Shannon said. She said that when she walks out of the gym, she looks disgusting, and she doesn't care how she looks going in there. Occasionally, she'll wear a cute outfit. I agree. I think that if you walk out of the gym...

00:10:00 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 8:

looking disgusting you did the job that you came to do but i also wanted to say i also wanted to say that when you go into the gym not caring what you look like you're truly there to work out but if you're doing all this extra stuff putting on makeup doing your hair like i know sometimes people enjoy looking good but i feel like when you're also doing all that extra stuff you're not really there to work out you're there to get looks from other people which i'm not saying is wrong but i think that we're all in agreeance that when shannon's walking in the gym not she's truly there to work out yeah but you know what i don't think is well first of all i got a

00:10:31 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 9:

question are you single i am yes okay so there tell me if you struggle finding or meeting new people the way i do or do you have a lot of success if so i will hang up on you immediately no uh it was a joke i don't know why everybody looks at me very stressed out that was in fact a joke but there are two aspects of this a i feel like there's so few opportunities to meet people that you do need to show up looking your best just because it's one of the rare opportunities to meet people okay and b how many times are we going straight from work i'm not going to work without my hair and makeup done of course my hair and makeup is going to be done when i'm going there

00:11:11 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 8:

okay that is fair absolutely fair no and you're absolutely right but sometimes you know like for most of us we don't get that luxury i have two kids i have a newborn and i have a toddler He's almost two. I have two under two. I'm going, the only time I'm able to go to the gym is straight after nursing school where we're not even allowed to do makeup and do ourselves up. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. That's not the reality for most of us.

00:11:32 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 6:

You're trying to say a lot.

00:11:33 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 8:

Time is a luxury. Time is a luxury. And to get ready, you need a lot of time. Yeah.

00:11:39 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 6:

I hear that. All right, mama, do your thing then. All right, let's go. Let's go to one last call. I want to get this one. This is B, who's voice disguised, who has a different opinion than the other callers that have called in. B, what's up? You there?

00:11:52 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I'm here.

00:11:54 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 6:

All right, B. How are you guys? What say you? We're good. How are you?

00:11:57 - 00:11:59 | Speaker 7:

I'm good. First time, long time.

00:11:59 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. B's on the line. What's up, B?

00:12:04 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 7:

All right, so, Shannon. Yes. Do you just want to go to this place because the women look so great?

00:12:11 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 9:

No. It has been recommended to me by so many people because of the workout.

00:12:15 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 7:

okay well i can guarantee that i'm getting feedback and i don't know why so if i'm sounding let me know you guys if you're sounding what i'm i'm hearing myself like after the i'm already

00:12:33 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 6:

talking okay okay just push through you sound good on our end what's your comment okay great

00:12:38 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 7:

So, with the Pilates, if you keep doing that for like 10, 20 years from now, you're going to be very unhappy with your results. Why is that? You can't just do Pilates. You have to do heavyweight, ladies. Trust me.

00:12:55 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 6:

What happens 20 years from now?

00:12:59 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 7:

Not enough weight in Pilates for you to continue to build the muscle that you need.

00:13:05 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 9:

Are you a personal trainer?

00:13:09 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 7:

Yes, I am. Oh, there we go. Oh, there we go.

00:13:12 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 9:

They're on their own services.

00:13:14 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 7:

No, I'm giving you the honest back.

00:13:19 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 6:

Okay.

00:13:20 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 7:

She told me that we'll get saggy. I've seen women that come to me years after they've been doing collides.

00:13:24 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 6:

I turned 40 and everything just went to crap.

00:13:30 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 4:
