Mojo in the morning show. Good to have you guys here. Phone number, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Text is 95500. If you are listening to us on the iHeartRadio app, don't stop the stream. Listen to the show, but text us your comment. But be prepared for a callback from our producers asking you to go on the air with us. And that usually means that we want to have you say that comment on the radio. Ready for this one, guys? We were doing our daily diaries yesterday, and I was reading the diaries last night before I went to bed, and I read Shannon's, and I was like, oh, something interesting is happening here. Shannon, not racing to the altar, but maybe racing to the courthouse, and it could happen soon?

00:02:36 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 5:

It could happen within the next couple of weeks. It all depends.

00:02:40 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 1:

Everybody knows that you are now engaged. They saw the engagement photos and stuff. what has gotten you because I think I asked you like a week and a half ago or two weeks ago you and Wes both when we were all out together I said hey so what you got any plans going you had nothing

00:02:54 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

planned this must have been something recent zero wedding plans I people keep asking me do you guys have you guys had a date you have a venue um and and we we don't we're thinking we were thinking maybe next spring or summer so this is kind of a convoluted story but I have been having a little health scare as of late, since like last fall. And so I've been going to the doctor and the hospital way more than normal, having some small procedures and tests done. And I actually have a surgery coming up next month for this. And God willing, that will be the end of all of this craziness. But if it's not, there will be a lot more visits, a lot more tests. I'll be spending some more time at the hospital and in doctor's offices. Well, here's the thing, and you guys know this because I've been venting about it. My insurance got all screwed up when I made the election for last year, which has now trickled into this year. And I didn't realize it until this coming January. So all of the testing and stuff that I had done at the end of last year, I am paying out of pocket for right now. And it is ungodly expensive. And the reason that it wasn't caught was because all of my normal doctors that I've been going to for years and years and years, Dr. Werner being one of them, they were like, wait a second, why is her insurance rejecting this? She's been a patient here for 14 years. And so they were resubmitting. And by the time that process got all said and done and it came to me, I was like, why am I getting this crazy bill? And I finally called our insurance and said, what is going on? I've never not selected the same thing well when they changed our insurance i did accidentally select you know a different one anyway so that's like a big fear i always have when i'm doing this well you know how you're clicking all the same stuff that says based on your previous plan you should select this one stupid me i selected it without making sure like all of my same doctors and hospitals were on there so now i'm in the middle of Yeah.

00:05:00 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 1:

know trying to get through this and I have to switch the hospital all of my doctors to have these procedures done it has been a huge pain in my butt and I just want to go back to my normal hospital and my normal doctor so Wes has obviously been at my side as I've been going through this and so the other day he said hey why don't we just go to the courthouse and get married and i'll put you on my insurance and then that way you can go be with all of your doctors go to the hospital you want to go to um and and that will be like the you know it'll be done he's got good insurance he has great insurance okay better insurance than i have at this point so are you

00:05:43 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 4:

thinking maybe sneak off get legally married legally no big wedding and party and all that stuff i mean i don't know at that point like do you just do it all up i wanted a celebration Oh, there will be a celebration.

00:05:57 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 1:

There will be a celebration. But this, I think we would just do like really quickly so that he could put me on his insurance. Like we're going to get married anyway. But I mean.

00:06:06 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 5:

First and foremost, are you doing okay? Oh, yeah, that too.

00:06:10 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 1:

Yes, before we talk about this. We want to party. Thanks. Oh, are you okay? Thanks, Mike. I will be fine. I will be fine. I am, to be honest with you, I am scared. Should I talk about this?

00:06:22 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

Well, no, you don't have to.

00:06:23 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah.

00:06:26 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 5:

You can do that at a later time if you want to.

00:06:28 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

I am a little scared, but I think I will be totally fine when it is all said and done. But it is really important that I have this surgery next month. Yeah. And if I have to keep going to the doctor after that, like I...

00:06:40 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 4:

It's going to blow out your savings account.

00:06:43 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 1:

I'm there right now with it.

00:06:45 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 5:

So there was a question that you had written in your diary, which was, anybody else have to race to the altar for a particular interesting situation, interesting reason?

00:06:57 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, why do you have to hurry up your wedding?

00:06:59 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 5:

And I bet you that there's a lot. And I bet you that some of them are very funny. And I bet you that there's many of them that probably are kind of in scary situations or tragic situations, like, you know, family member that's, you know, sick or something like that, you know?

00:07:14 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:07:14 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 5:

Because I know my niece is getting married. Her dad has been battling dementia, and he's only in his mid-50s, and she sees that he is regressing more and more every day, and she wants to walk down the aisle before he forgets who she is. But I think that, you know what? There can always be a celebration, right? Yeah. You can have a celebration at the courthouse.

00:07:36 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 2:

I do feel like I called this, though.

00:07:37 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 5:

Have you ever had-

00:07:38 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 2:

Wait, what? What did you say, Megan? I feel like I called this.

00:07:42 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 5:

Really?

00:07:43 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, because remember, Shannon, we were talking like a week or two ago. What was the first thing I said? Don't have a wedding. Just go alope.

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 5:

And how did she react to that when you said that?

00:07:53 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 2:

You did. Straight up, I don't think she should have a wedding.

00:07:56 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

I think she should have a party, but I don't think she should have a wedding. Oh, we're not even... This all aside, we wouldn't really have a wedding. We've talked about if we get married, when we get married, it'll just be... That was bad, right?

00:08:09 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 2:

When we get married... Rewind.

00:08:11 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 1:

When we get married, it will probably just be the six of us, Wes, myself, and our four kids, and then we will just have a huge party. Don't worry, Mike, you'll be invited with alcohol,

00:08:26 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 4:

okay? Thank you, because I know you want to get married in a church and everything, but I don't want to sit through a two-hour ceremony. I just want to party and drink. I'm happy for you.

00:08:37 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 5:

Jodi? Hi, how are you?

00:08:41 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 3:

I'm well, thank you, Shannon. I'm Canadian. My husband is American. He, in the U.S., they don't recognize common law. So when my husband went to go retired, he found out that, unlike myself, I wouldn't get any of his pension if we weren't married. So in 10 days, I planned a wedding, and we got married at the London Top House, downtown Detroit. Oh, that's nice.

00:09:08 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 5:

Who married you? The maitre d' or the guy that waits at the door there? That really cool guy that's at the door. What's his name? The greeter. I don't know.

00:09:15 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

Darian? Darian maybe? No, it was not him. It was one of our friends. Okay. And he was able to marry us, and there were eight or seven of us. And it was the best wedding ever. And we had a celebration a month later with everybody at Oak City Grill in Royal Oaks. So fun.

00:09:34 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 5:

And now you've got the pension.

00:09:37 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

Now, when he dies, I got the pension. But he always had mine, though. Can't enough recognizes, what do you call that? Common law.

00:09:46 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, interesting. Staff, what's happening?

00:09:50 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Hey, good morning, guys. So, Shannon, I'm actually a recent newlywed. Me and my fiance got married in Las Vegas last...

00:10:00 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 8:

00:10:17 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 8:

it's basically downtown because the courthouse is right down the street from where the chapel is and our wedding was live so all of our family back home was able to watch me and my husband get married

00:10:32 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 6:

oh my god my dad would be so excited he loves me so if everybody

00:10:37 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 8:

can't come they can't watch you fly you can pick the package

00:10:43 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 4:

by the way I have to tell you that I'm starting to get like close circuit crazy like I watched a funeral this weekend oh yeah so I watched Don Shane's funeral This weekend

00:10:54 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

I feel like we finally All get out of that Zoom and Teams thing I don't want to watch Anything else

00:10:59 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 4:

And they did it They did it Because obviously You know They were in It was in California So But If you go get married Just send us pictures You know what I mean Like we don't need At the courthouse

00:11:10 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 7:

I don't think They take your picture Well no

00:11:13 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 5:

But if you go to Vegas I don't want to see Y'all having fun in Vegas If I'm not there in Vegas Yeah

00:11:17 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 4:

Listen to this one Erica are you there? Yes I am here Your sister Had to rush her marriage

00:11:25 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 6:

Right? Yes she did So my mom had a cancer Scare probably about Six years ago and My sister rushed and got married So my mom could be able to be there And now She is divorced and My mom had no cancer

00:11:43 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 8:

Oh no

00:11:44 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 4:

Oh my god

00:11:46 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 5:

That's funny

00:11:48 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 4:

Well thank god that your mom doesn't have cancer And that's too bad about the marriage That's funny She's going to kill you for calling us But that's funny Everybody's probably better off You know what If I had to go through a divorce To make my mom cancer free You know what I mean Joy, this is an interesting one too Why did you have to rush the wedding?

00:12:18 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 7:

So we had to rush the wedding Because my husband was in prison and his grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and we really wanted her at the wedding. And so we ended up doing the wedding at the prison with just his mom and his grandma present. And so one of her last signatures... Chana, you can have a wedding at the prison? Yeah, you can. I don't know how close our pictures would be.

00:12:41 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

You know how difficult it is to rent out facilities for weddings still? That would be great. Can I go to Jackson Prison and see if we can get one? What was he going into prison for? Is that bad to ask?

00:12:53 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 7:

It was just like a third offense drunk driving. He had 18 months. How's the food?

00:12:58 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 5:

I feel like the catering wouldn't be that great.

00:13:00 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 4:

Did you guys bring in tubbies or what did you guys do?

00:13:05 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 7:

No, it's really, they don't really let you do anything. But we've been married for 20 years still. We've never had an actual wedding.

00:13:13 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that's nice. I'm really, it's surprising, Mojo. I know you watch 90 Day Fiance. So I thought every call was going to be about, like, you know, for citizenship or something. Right. What a variety of calls we've had about these people rushing weddings.

00:13:27 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 4:

And when do you guys think you'll make up your mind on this?

00:13:30 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. We were just talking about it last night, too.

00:13:32 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:13:33 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 6:

And then he was making fun of me because I was on Poshmark looking for a cute courthouse wedding dress.

00:13:37 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 2:

He goes, is that what you're worried about?
