all right it is uh mojo in the morning so what's up with uh smith what's going on oh so we have

been teaching my sweet almost six year old he's gonna be six next week you guys which is just mind-blowing so crazy um but all about like you know things that are healthy for you things that are unhealthy, unhealthy for you. Excuse me. So one of the conversations was about smoking, right? Like he's seen people smoking and he's asked about it. Lucy too. Um, and so I've always just said, I've always been very upfront with them that, you know, it's not healthy and you can get lung cancer and you can ultimately die from smoking. Well, one of my fiance's friends came over to my house and she said to me, she came up to me and whispered. So the kids wouldn't hear her is it okay if i you know go in your backyard and sneak a cigarette and she's like i don't normally smoke but i'm away from my kids and she was having a little drink and she's like i just want a smoky treat okay that's what she called so okay that's fine smoky treat so i told her of course well smith was running around outside with like some sort of squirt gun or whatever while she was doing it and apparently i heard this story after the fact went up to her and Very vehemently said You know you're gonna die From doing that right By the way this is her first time Meeting my sweet little boy Where do you get the cigarettes Good for him The cherry on top is after she was done He walked back up to her and said And you're not supposed to be littering Duh because she threw her cigarette On the ground

Good for him did she rethink it then

But I love when kids do literally take stuff and then they take it to that level, especially when they do it to you. When you tell your kids that they've got to eat everything on their plate or that they need to do something dinner-related, and then they see you doing something wrong and then they point it out to you. All the time. Because kids are so literal, especially his age. His age kids are like the most literal with things.

I mean, it happens all the time with things. And I'm sure every mom or dad can relate. I always say to them, he always asks me, can you go get my shoes? Can you go upstairs and get my blanket? Can you go get this? I'm like, dude, I am not your maid. You are almost six years old. You can go upstairs and get your shoes or your blanket or whatever. So if I ask them, can you run in the house really quick? Like if we're in the car in the driveway yesterday. This is a great example. Lucy had lacrosse practice. Can you run in really quick and just grab the cleats? You know, from the laundry room. And he's like, I'm not your maid. I'm like, fair. Fair.

By the way, on a totally different note, whenever I've had house guests that are smokers, it kind of drives me crazy. It's disgusting. I hate it because they go outside thinking that you're not going to be able to smell it inside, but you smell it inside. It just, no matter how far from the house, it's like it follows them. Even if they don't smell like smoke normally. Like I've had friends that have come and stayed with me and, you know, they were house guests for a couple of days. And then the worst is this. The worst is they will have, they'll make anything out of an ashtray. You ever notice that with smokers? Yeah. And then later I will find the Ice Mountain water bottle with. A little bit of water and butts just sitting there. And if they're staying the night at your house, your sheets and your bed or whatever are going to smell like that.

And this is coming from a former smoker, right?

Yeah, it's disgusting. I have coats that I've had to throw away. I've had tons of things. It just never goes away.

And then the other thing is, too, I had this happen to me when Terry lived next door to me.

Oh, I remember all your stories about Terry.

Terry, the neighbor, would go, hey, is somebody smoking out there? Because what happens is they go as far from your windows as possible But they go close to the neighbor's windows Right And next thing you know, they're just sitting there smoking Which is kind of funny And then the neighbors are like, what the hell is going on? I think Tom and Chelsea are smokers That's what ends up happening What's going on, Jen?

That's what I do to my daughters whenever I'm like, can you go grab me? And they're like, I'm not your maid. That's what I say to them. And then they're like, oh, and they go do it.

You know what used to work all the time for me was whenever they said they weren't going to do it, I would go right to my phone and I would, ready for this, what do you think I went on my phone and did? Stopwatch. No. Better than that. Okay. Better than that. Call grandma. I would, no. Call Santa. I would go to my Xfinity app where I could shut off their device to be able to do anything with it. That's smart. Anytime I pulled up my Xfinity app, I could actually shut off individual devices from ever being able to be used.

Now, back in my day. My dad would just set the phone off the line and say, no internet for you.

Yeah, unplug it, right?

No, just like literally just leave the phone off of the phone.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. That was the old. Yeah. What's going on, Amanda?

So my son always calls me out for cussing. And he will say, Mom, F is a bad word.

And you're telling him not to swear.

Yeah, I do not want him to really swear, you know, especially out in public, but.

That'll happen to me, but in the car. So I'll say it like somebody will cut me off or I'll do something. I'll go, ah, yes. And then he'll go, my son's three years old. His name is Milo. He'll go, ah, yes. And I'll go, Milo, don't say that. Don't say that. He'll go, you just said it.

Yeah. Little parrot.

Yeah. The worst is when they say it in front of other people. And then the other people think you're the worst parent ever.

Oh, I go, Smith, you cannot let dad say that in front of you.
