Mojo in the Morning show. So, Shannon's dog is now wearing diapers, and this is very sad. First off, I didn't even know that Charlie was that old, but I guess.

He's going to be 15 this year.

15 in dog years.

How much does that make him? I don't know. 15 times 7, whatever that is. To the Googles. Yeah. He is my little toy poodle. He is my ride or die. I got him right when I moved back home to Detroit and started working on this show. I mean, I got him a couple of months after I started working on this show. So he has just been with me through everything. And he is entering that phase of life where it's like, you guys, he's so frail, no matter how much he eats, he sleeps all day. I have to carry him up and down the stairs for the most part. And then the day before yesterday, I finally had to bite the bullet and buy diapers for him because he is just peeing all over the place like like can't even hold it in to go outside and it is making me so sad and so terrified that every time i come home from being out i'm like char char and i like frantically call him to see if he'll come to me which he doesn't even really come to me anymore but like i'm so scared that i'm gonna come home and find him and he's just gonna be

sleeping did you get the new puppy because you kind of knew that this was uh inevitable that with him being 15?

So I got the new puppy, one, because he was so dang cute. I couldn't stop thinking about him. But also, I had heard that if you get a puppy and you have an older dog, it'll kind of reinvigorate the older dog. Yeah. And every once in a while, they will play and run around with each other. But I feel like in the past two weeks, like, Char has just really slowed down. And watch, this dog will live until he's like 18 years old. Well, that'd be... After having this conversation, which would be amazing. That's what you want, right? That would be amazing. But every day, I like, I hold his little face in my hands and I give him this pep talk of, you cannot, you cannot leave me.

Losing a dog is worse than losing a family member. I know this is weird to say this, but it is so much, losing Lily, Lily died similar time that my dad died and my kids were more affected by Lily's death.

You were crushed by that.

It was brutal.

Dogs are better than people. Yeah, they are.

That's not fully true.

They are. I just, I feel like I'm in this weird phase of like, I'm anticipating it. And I don't like that because I'm always just, I have anxiety about the dog. And like, I look at him, I'm like, dude, you're wearing diapers. Like, he's just, it makes me so sad. Thomas, what's up?

So, yeah, hi, guys. So, Shannon, I have to tell you, I'm in the exact same situation. My dog has a personal connection. my mom passed away um and she passed away now over 12 years now but she had just bought the dog a couple years before and so when my mom passed i inherited her dog so now i'm in the same situation where my husband's like when this dog passes you're going to be an emotional wreck because this is the only and last thing that you have tying yourself to your mom and it's been like that comfort blanket right that i've just been able to have so i am in the same situation i don't have him in diapers yet but i do have to carry him up and down the stairs and wake him up to make sure if he goes to the bathroom and all of those things so i'm in the same place yeah it's

for an indoor cat when i looked at bo when i first got him i was like oh my god this cat is going to be with me in my 40s and i started to cry isn't that weird you were crying people don't

think about that you were crying because it was too long or no because i realized that he's going

to be in some major parts of my life yeah like my cat i have from five to 26 holy cow yeah uh do

people get as emotional though when their cat dies oh my gosh i literally when i think about it i

start to cry i yeah my cat was in my life longer than my mom was oh wow think about that by a lot

Hey, so I texted in, and I just said that I can relate to Shannon because we just recently had to put my 15-year-old dog down, and it was the hardest thing in the entire world. So he was literally a puppy is what it seemed like up until the day that we had to put him down because he went from being just this old happy puppy to being not able to move, and it was awful. It's devastating. Yeah.

Oh, man. Well, thank you. Thank you for the call. So was he peeing or pooping, or what was he doing all over the place? He was peeing.

He was peeing everywhere.

It's so wild because we have a dog that's not that old, but pees everywhere, too. I got to put a diaper on him for that reason.

Does he wear diapers?

He's just an a-hole. Yeah, he's a little a-hole. They call him Mojo.

Yeah, no.

Does it keep him from peeing, or does he pee in his diaper? He pees in his diaper. He does. He just pees all over the place. Yeah. Wow. So is it like a baby? Do you have to wipe the dog? No. Or just change it? No.

It looks like a big maxi pad that connects on the top.

Okay. That's what it looks like. By the way, that's when your dignity has just ended. When you're walking around as a dog and you're, and he probably, the new dog's probably making fun of him when you don't even realize it.

Dude, I should put that dang new dog in diapers too because you're peeing too.

I'm telling you. Maybe your dog's really not sick. Maybe they're smelling each other's pee and they're peeing all over that.

I hope that's what it is, but still.
