all right so it's funny we went to the uh graduation for um walker walker reynolds this weekend it was in chelsea and i uh went to that and then we had another thing that we had to go to and um i don't know if uh this is something that's common in other people's relationships but when we're going to this she feels like okay you're gonna know everybody and i'm gonna know nobody. So beforehand, she said to me, she goes, all right, here's the deal. If you leave me and go talking to everybody and leave me, you know, completely by myself where I've got to like stand there and not know anybody, I'm really going to be upset with you because you have said over the years that you would not do that anymore. Cause I used to do that a lot. I would go to bring her to events, you know, work events or to our promotions. And I would kind of do my thing and she'd be off, you know, standing there not knowing anybody or not knowing anybody to, you know, to converse with. And then at the end of the night, I'd be like, hey, so what'd you think? And she'd be like, well, it'd be nice for you to, you know, at least introduce me to people or to stand with me and talk to me. So I tried to be really conscious of this. The exact reversal happened. The exact opposite end of this happened. We show up at Dr. Reynolds' house and Chelsea knows more people than I knew. Oh, really? Yeah. and then also people who didn't know her walked up to her and wanted to talk to her and had no

00:03:02 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 7:

interest in talking to me how did it feel this role reversal well you know what uh she some

00:03:08 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 6:

people would say what's good for the goose is good for the gander but i'd like to say that it did not feel nice i was like upset by that whole thing like wait a minute but it brought up something like when you go to somewhere where you were invited and you bring a date with you how much are you with the date how much are you with your husband shannon or uh kev a date when you go to an event and do you always feel like you have to like have them come with you everywhere because i was always really bad at this like i just assumed that chelsea you know is a grown woman and she could talk to people and then I realized I was really not good at bringing her as a wife and then it became a point where she was like when I would say hey would you come with me to this she'd be like no why am I going with you we don't even spend any time with each other when we're there you know you go by yourself and you'll have just as much fun I've had these experiences whether

00:04:01 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 7:

it was going to an event or just going to like Target or a store and you see somebody you know and five minutes into the conversation you realize oh damn like I'm with somebody like i should probably introduce them and i've had people tell me like i don't like when you do that it makes me either feel insignificant yeah not a part of it or like you just don't consider me at all yeah and uh it's not a good place to be on that side of the conversation half the time honestly

00:04:28 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 6:

i'm not ignoring her half the time i don't know people's names i'm just trying to figure out i'm like oh my god i used to do this with chelsea i would say hey do me a favor and if somebody comes up and you don't hear me say their name and i say hey buddy i i would say to chelsea see if you can overhear somebody say their name or introduce yourself and go hey you know i'm his wife chelsea but you know what's your name and i'd be like oh my god i can't believe i didn't introduce you to dave no that's doug one of those type of things um does that ever happen with you and west where you go out places or does it does he ever feel like you're not talking to him i'm lucky with west because i

00:05:10 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 2:

feel 100 comfortable i don't want to use the word dumping but like he's good by himself he likes meeting people he's super chatty so i don't feel like there's ever been a situation that i can recall where i i felt like i have to like babysit her babysit him or stay close by him um so i'm thankful for that, that he has that kind of personality where he'll just go. I don't feel

00:05:31 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 6:

like I'm babysitting Chelsea. I feel like I honestly abandoned her. Like I think it's a total different thing. And I think when we're there, I think that's, that sometimes is, is the bigger problem is I'll go to, you know, like this party this weekend, we show up there and the party was, you know, there at his house and you walk up in the moment we walk up, ran into some people that you know knew but you know didn't know well and i introduced him to chelsea like chelsea had never met walker before except for when walker and dr reynolds brought over to me after my shoulder surgery uh a gift they gave me they bought me a couple of shirts that were pretty funny shirts and chelsea met walker there and this was the most amazing thing about this guy about uh walker as a young man he's what 18 years old i think going into college he was so attentive like you could tell that Dr. Reynolds and Walker's mom did such an amazing job raising this kid he was so attentive to the fact that he had never really talked to Chelsea he was talking and asking her questions I looked at him like this kid's no wonder why the kid got into Michigan

00:06:37 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 5:

stop hitting on my wife you little bastard I have been in situations where if I've gone to an event with somebody else in a relationship with and i just don't feel like talking to people yeah so it's been totally okay with me to just like leave me at the table bro like i'm not like what do you kind of need me yeah yeah you need me to be at this event yes am i the guy on the shoulder that you need to like bring around or can i just lay back and go do your thing but i have some people sometimes here

00:07:04 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 6:

at the radio station that get that way with me where i'll go places and we'll be at events and they expect me to be the yeah you know yeah show punk emcee of everything you know what i mean

00:07:15 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 2:

Okay, so that has happened to me before in situations that Wes has put me in where, like, we'll go to, for example, like a big track meet or an event because both of his kids are track athletes and he's a track coach. And he'll be like, you know, this family's over there. You know them. You know, like his ex-wife. Jen's over there. And sometimes I'm like, I don't want to be rude. I just want to sit by myself. I don't want to have to, like, make small talk. I just want to sit by myself and, like, be on my phone. And then I know it looks like I am a huge B.

00:07:45 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, you don't want to do that. Yeah, especially in a divorce situation where it's the new wife and then everybody's judging you based on that. What's up, initial age, your voice disguised?

00:07:55 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I feel this a lot because I constantly experience this with my family-in-law, the extended family and everything. We really don't talk at all, but I'm there all the time.

00:08:09 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, so are you the person that is left behind or is it your partner or the person that's left behind?

00:08:16 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

No, I'm left behind, 100%.

00:08:18 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. It gets to be tough, too, huh? So do you have a very personable partner, like somebody that likes to talk to people?

00:08:28 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's very good at talking to everyone, his family, not as much. Like they always ask, oh, what dish did you bring? And that's the extent of the conversation.

00:08:38 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. No, that's tough. I always felt bad. So I did this with Chelsea. Let me show you, tell you this one. The first time that Chelsea met my family, we went and stayed with my sister and I left and went to go out with some friends and left her alone with my family. Like she was there alone with my family. Like the first time. Could you imagine you're going to meet Wes's family in Toronto and he decides he's going to go do a guys night with a group of guys. Wait, hold on. It sounds like that happened. Did that happen?

00:09:12 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 2:

No, no, I'm just saying, like, I can imagine that that would be a lie. It did look like she went back to that moment.
