This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

Allen Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year. I don't think I'm mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great. You know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, As of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will end the ship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.

It's Mojo in the Morning Show. I had a weird thing happen to me yesterday. I went to Whole Foods. Now, that's not the weird part, even though I don't go there very often. I get intimidated going to places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. When I walk into those stores, I feel like they look at me and go, you should be at Aldi or Kroger or wherever. But I walk in. I wanted to go because somebody had told me about a gluten-free product that they had. And I was like, all right, I'm going to try this thing. And then I got the shopping cart and I started going, oh, I'm going to see what else they go and do. And I went shopping hungry. You ever shop hungry? Ooh, that's a bad idea. Worst decision you could ever do, right? So I pull my cart out, and I start putting a couple of things into my cart. And then I'm like, oh, I think I know exactly where the gluten-free thing is. And I realized it was in an aisle that I went to prior. And I'm like, all right, I'm just going to leave the cart right here, and I'm going to go walk and get it. Turned the corner, walked, grabbed it. All right, good. Turned around the corner. I see from probably me to Shannon away, a lady with my cart. And I'm going to unplug myself here for one second so I can stand up for a second. And I see her from a distance, and she's doing this. Ready? She's in my cart, grabbing stuff, putting it on the shelf. Grabbing stuff, putting it on the shelf. She's emptying my cart and putting everything that I had on a shelf. There's like four items or five items in there. And then she starts walking away with my cart.

00:04:13 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 2:

Why?

00:04:15 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 4:

The bitch was stealing my cart. so i'm like i'm like hi man that's mine that's mine and she kind of looks and then keeps going and starts pushing faster and i'm like that was my cart and she just leaves and turns the corner and i'm like do i confront her or what do i do who does that whole foods people do that i go to the i so i finally go and get another uh i ended up getting a little basket yeah because i'm like all right i'm not gonna get that much anyway but i go get a basket i go grab my stuff off the the shelf you know i'm still holding my one item that i that made me lose my cart and i go to the the checkout area and i said to the girl that's at the checkout area which by the way the people at whole foods they don't look like they're going to be nice but they're actually

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

were not so nice and so chatty they look like they

00:05:00 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 4:

honestly are a little granola-y for me okay very kind like i wanted to say are you wearing socks and deodorant and if you have deodorant is it good smelling deodorant or is it the kind that

00:05:12 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

makes your pit smell did you make it yourself are you yes so i said to her i go i go hey you know

00:05:21 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 4:

i don't really shop here very much but can i ask you a question and go ahead so is this unusual i had a woman steal my cart and she goes that ain't unusual at all we get it all the time people talk about that all the time what there are cart thieves at whole foods why whole foods is because to me

00:05:36 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 5:

it's not one of those places like a target where you go in to grab two things and you end up coming

00:05:42 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 4:

out with 200 i don't know foods to me i don't understand what it is shannon you could you know first off you did that at meyer you get stabbed they would never allow you to steal well not that But you get somebody that would beat you over the head. You know what I mean? Like, if you did that, you can't steal stuff out of people's carts.

00:06:01 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 1:

No, Walmart is where a public fight would break out. All right, Walmart, you're right.

00:06:05 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 4:

At Walmart, you're in a full-on gun battle or something. I was just, like, loud yelling. Like, you're not going to do anything, but hey. Yes, we love Walmart.

00:06:13 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 5:

Also, Whole Foods stores, at least the ones that I've been to, aren't that humongous. So if you realize you need a cart, it's not like you're walking across a mire, for example, to go get yourself a cart.

00:06:27 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 3:

There have been situations, I won't say at Whole Foods, but you'll go to a grocery store and for some reason the cart guy or gal doesn't put the carts where they're supposed to go. They're just backed up all where, you know, outside in the parking lot where they have the little storage area. They're all there. But I'm more pissed off that the lady just put all your stuff in an aisle where it didn't belong. Yeah. So you've got all these random products in an aisle.

00:06:50 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 4:

And some was for fruits. You know what I mean? Like, I got some oranges and stuff. Were they the caracara oranges? They're so good. They're so good. What's going on? Tawny, hi.

00:07:01 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 2:

Hi, yeah. So I texted in because at the Croker in Toledo on Glendale. This happens literally all the time, and it makes me so mad. I think within the last two months, I've had my cart stolen at least four times.

00:07:14 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 4:

What's up with these people that can't go to the cart corral and get their own cart?

00:07:20 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 2:

And where do they steal it from? Because if you walk in, all the carts are right in front of the door. And I may be getting, you know, alcohol. So you can't take the cart into the little area. Yeah. And I'll be checking out, getting a drink. And they're stealing my cart full of groceries. So they literally passed all the carts before they even took mine.

00:07:38 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

And they put that gate up in that location. So it's hard to get in. But shout out to the South End.

00:07:44 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

I don't understand. Here's the thing I don't understand. I don't understand what it is about the fact that you can't just get a cart when you're walking in. Did you think you were going into the store to sit there and browse? You're going into the store. You would think you would just grab a cart.

00:07:58 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 3:

How many times have you walked in the grocery store and said, I'm going to get grapes? And by the time you realize it, you got five things under your arms. If I get grapes, I have the big cart.

00:08:06 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 4:

And I walk up there with one big cart with one thing of grapes in it. I'm at least getting the mini cart. I might not get the big cart.

00:08:12 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 5:

I love those mini carts. Absolutely.

00:08:14 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 1:

I love the mini carts. Guys, you have to get a basket, and then you put so much stuff in it that you're, like, limping through the aisles, but you've committed. And you're not getting a cart because you're not going to overshop.

00:08:25 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I always do the mini carts, and then next thing I know, I've got so much stuff in the mini carts, they're looking at me like, you fool, you should have grabbed the bigger one. Hi, Haley.

00:08:35 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

It's Kaylee.

00:08:36 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

Kaylee, sorry about that. What's happening?

00:08:38 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 1:

So, this actually happened to me recently at a Kroger, but I have a tile piece in my wallet. And I set it off in the store so it was beeping because you're looking for your product. And the person was like, something's wrong with our cart.

00:08:58 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 4:

You know what? I think I'm going to do that. I think I'm going to put it in one of these carts and see if somebody steals it again. I'll go to Whole Foods today and see exactly what happens. Yeah, it was pretty funny. Whatever happened to Whole Foods having a bar in it? They had a bar still do.

00:09:16 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 5:

They took it out of the one day. They had a bar? It's now the Amazon return.

00:09:24 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 4:

Amir, what's up? Hey, what's going on? What's going on, Amir?

00:09:29 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 1:

I'm driving right now.

00:09:32 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, Amir. Do you know the card thief?

00:09:37 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I am a car thief, actually.

00:09:40 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

Oh. Are you serious?

00:09:41 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

Why do you do what you do? I don't know, honestly. I guess I just see a car.

00:09:47 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

I mean, because cars just play around the building all the time, wherever you're at. You see them everywhere.

00:09:53 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

So, you rat bastard. Yeah, do you take the stuff out?

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 7:

and just throw it up on the counter, too? Or do you actually take their cart full of stuff and buy that stuff?

00:10:05 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 8:

No, I don't buy it. I have taken the things out before, but sometimes I do just leave it in there. Are you looking forward to help? Yeah, that's right. Usually nobody. They don't belong to anybody usually, so I just grab a cart.

00:10:22 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 7:

But you have to do the whole thing where you make the announcement. Is this anybody's? Is this anybody's? You know what I mean? You have to do it like that. Yeah, you can't just steal it. What's going on, Will? Hi.

00:10:36 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 6:

Hey, how's it going? Good, man. What's happening? How much? First time caller, long time listener. Stop.

00:10:42 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 8:

Will's on the phone.

00:10:44 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 7:

What's going on?

00:10:45 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 6:

I actually had a woman steal my cart out of the self-checkout line right before I was paying for it, and she bolted out the door with it. Didn't even pay for it. What? Didn't even do anything. Yeah, and I don't know if you guys are aware of the rules. You actually, if you're working at a grocery place like Kroger or Walmart, if you're working there, you cannot chase the people. You just have to let them go. And that's when I was working at Walmart at the time. She just took it and just ran. Yeah.

00:11:12 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 7:

So had you already rung it through and paid for it when that happened? Or were you paying it?

00:11:18 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 6:

I was about to. I had the eggs in my hand ready to scan, and then all of a sudden she comes out of the blue and gone.

00:11:25 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 7:

I'm not going to lie. Yeah. By the way, that's the time that you wish that you got the cart with the one wheel that goes sideways.

00:11:33 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 6:

Yep, 100%.

00:11:35 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, you're like, what the hell's going on? What's up, Abby?

00:11:40 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 9:

Hey, how are you guys?

00:11:41 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

We're good. What's happening, Ab?

00:11:44 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 9:

So when I was seven months pregnant, we were at Menards getting wood for our nursery to decorate it. You have to, like, go up the stairs to get the wood, and I come back down, seven months pregnant, and some lady took my cart.

00:11:56 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 7:

Oh, no. You can't take a pregnant lady's cart.

00:11:59 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 9:

So my husband had to go track one down for me.

00:12:02 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 7:

You know what? You don't take a pregnant lady's cart. You want to know why you don't? Because the hormones can get crazy. I could see you opening up a can of whoop-ass on her, right?

00:12:10 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 9:

I was definitely saying some things. My husband was like, quiet, quiet.

00:12:14 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 7:

This is why there's so many videos. Those videos you see people fighting in the grocery store, you're like, how did this start? This is how it starts. This is an interesting one. Ashley, what's going on?

00:12:24 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 4:

hi hi yeah so i was like you know what i'm just gonna call i'm just gonna do it people are probably listening they're gonna know it's me um but yeah i was at kroger and walked away with someone else's cart but unintentionally thought it was my cart it was like a busy just a busy day and i wasn't thinking and walked away and halfway across the store i looked down and that was not my stuff and it was not my purse oh no i didn't know where my stuff was in my purse so yeah that i had a little bit of a panic moment and walked around aimlessly and then a lady came up to me and was very nice and asked if that was her cart oh god she was nice god that was did she have good things in there though i don't even remember i think i just panicked i always look at other

00:13:14 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 7:

people's carts and i'm like oh man i want to hang with them tonight you know yeah we got every flavor of doritos in there happy thanksgiving to some of you this is mojo in the morning
