Mojo in the morning. We're going to be paying bills coming up here in just a little bit. Channel 955, 104.5 SNX, and KISS. Good to have you guys on here. I actually, it's funny, Shannon was just telling me this. I actually remember we did this in a trending story, but I didn't realize that anyone that we know would do one of these stupid TikTok trends. But who's doing this?

00:01:58 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 4:

So I was out to dinner on Saturday with my family and my younger sister was there. And I was sitting right next to her and she got a text message from a girlfriend of hers. And I just happened to see it. And it was a photo of her friend with the sides of her mouth taped shut with like scotch tape. It looked like to me. And I'm like, what in the actual heck is she doing? Well, apparently TikTok has made her believe that being a nose breather when you sleep is much healthier than being a mouth breather. Oh, no. So she's been, and this is not my sister. This is my sister's friend. She's been scotch taping her mouth shut every night for the past couple of weeks so that she only breathes out of her nose. And I didn't ask. I don't know the health benefits of this or whatever. If you do, you can call in, please. But my sister didn't believe her, so she made her send her a photo. Oh, that's why she was texting her photos. That could be dangerous, though, right?

00:02:57 - 00:03:05 | Speaker 7:

Well, they did. The report that I remember I did in Trending News was warning that people were hurting themselves.

00:03:06 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean, and she's married, too, with kids. So that has to look so funny to your spouse that, like, you're there with your mouth taped shot all night long.

00:03:15 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 1:

But it's so sad, like, that every two months we have to do a warning to people to don't copy what you saw on TikTok. Like, America's just that dumb that we have to remind people, like, taping your mouth shut might not be good for you.

00:03:24 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 7:

But they looked like they were alive in the TikTok that I saw.

00:03:28 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 4:

Honestly, I wish I could do that. I am the ugliest sleeper because I sleep with my mouth wide open.

00:03:35 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 7:

All right, so here's a question for you then. Because I was having this discussion over the weekend with some of Chelsea's friends, and we were talking about when you first started dating someone and you're spending the night together.

00:03:45 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:03:46 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 7:

Do you sleep? And the question brought up, and every one of the women that were part of this group all said the first night that they slept together, they got done fooling around, having sex, whatever, and they waited until he went to bed before they would even attempt. They pretended to be asleep because they were so fearful of them snoring, farting, burping, moaning. That's another one. Like one of Chelsea's friends was a moaner.

00:04:15 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:04:15 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 7:

Did you ever worry about that at all?

00:04:17 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

I worried – well, I told Wes right away that I'm an ugly sleeper and I sleep with my mouth wide open because – you guys know this. I fall asleep, like, anywhere, anytime. So I knew that I wasn't going to get around that. The thought of farting when I slept actually did keep both of us awake for a while when we first started spending the night at each other's houses, and it finally got to the point where he's just like, I can't – like, my stomach hurts. I can't hold this in anymore. Yeah. So we just had to But like okay So he took this picture Of me sleeping in the car On the way home from dinner The other night I will not post this Look at how bad Look at that Oh why would you not post that Are you out of your damn mind That is the funniest thing ever No look at how

00:05:00 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 11:

many chins i have look at my mouth wide open your jowls are normal you gotta be able to share those things off my god it is the worst you know it's like you at one point you can take comfort and

00:05:11 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 6:

say well you know what he accepts me for who i am he obviously loves me trolls but that's the thing

00:05:17 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 9:

and then he takes pictures chelsea said that i've recently been darth vader breathing at night so i've been sleeping really deep where my sleep like pattern she said it sounded at first she actually didn't know if it was me or the dog that was like in pattern like that

00:05:37 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 10:

what would be fun to do is get one of those apps I think you get them on the Apple Watch where it literally records every time you make a noise yes just to see what you sound like in the middle of the night actually Mike

00:05:46 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 9:

it's funny that you say that you can do that you can hit the button and it will tell you what it sounds like I don't think Chelsea would let me do that because I don't think she wants me to hear what she sounded like you know When you're doing it But can you imagine If you're sleeping next time

00:06:01 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 3:

Okay

00:06:09 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 11:

So I A lot of people Take their mouth shut Mouth shut There we go And apparently It is good for you

00:06:18 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 9:

Trent do you do it?

00:06:20 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 5:

I don't actually Take my mouth shut Because I do breathe Through my nose Regularly through the day Because it does have Health benefits But it makes sense if you do it during sleep. So your sister's friend is actually on to something. I mean, I don't know if I'd go as far as taping my mouth shut. But, yeah, breathing through your nose is a lot healthier than through your mouth.

00:06:39 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 9:

Interesting. Ireland, what's going on?

00:06:42 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I was calling because my dentist recommends mouth taping. And there's actually a brand called Somnifix. And they spell mouth tape. Oh, okay.

00:06:52 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 11:

Maybe that's what she has. It looked like scotch tape to me.

00:06:55 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 9:

But well, and it's wild because Savannah said that there's a reason why some dentists will recommend this. And what's the reason?

00:07:04 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 4:

Hi, Savannah here. I'm a dental hygienist. So typically you want to sleep with your mouth closed because when you have a drier mouth, you're more susceptible to get cavities.

00:07:16 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:07:17 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

Because our saliva kind of acts like a buffer for our mouth, even though, you know, people think, oh, like there's a lot of bacteria in your mouth and in your saliva. It actually helps us prevent more cavities.

00:07:27 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 11:

This makes sense. I have, I'm a mouth breather and I have so many cavities.

00:07:32 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 6:

But when this started trending a few weeks ago, all these doctors were warning about it. It's not good to limit your breathing.

00:07:38 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 9:

Some people were having issues because at night they would do this, Savannah, and they would tape, and then the tape would move as the night was going on. And they were having issues, and they were saying, don't do that because you could suffocate yourself.

00:07:54 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 4:

I mean, I wouldn't recommend taping your mouth, just maybe trying to be more conscious about it. Maybe throughout the day, try not to be a mouth breather, but I wouldn't personally tape my mouth shut.

00:08:05 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 9:

My dentist actually made a mouth guard for me because I was, you know, grinding some of my teeth. I have that, too. And it is so hard to, like, keep in my mouth because I feel like I'm suffocating when I have that thing in my mouth.

00:08:16 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 11:

So mine is actually Invisalign. Like, it's exactly the same thing as Invisalign, but it's just a retainer.

00:08:23 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 9:

Mine looks like Patrick Mahomes'. It's gold. It's gold. No. Oh, really?

00:08:27 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 11:

No. That's kind of awesome.

00:08:28 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 9:

No. Do you ever see Patrick Mahomes?

00:08:29 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 11:

Is yours rubbery, though? Or is it plastic?

00:08:32 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 9:

It's not necessarily rubbery. it is plastic. It's like a harder plastic. Yeah. And it keeps you from grinding your teeth. Patrick Mahomes, you ever notice when he's in the game,

00:08:45 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 6:

he eats his. Yeah, I'll just chew on it. And pop it out and chew on it. Which is funny because I always think to myself

00:08:51 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 9:

like, does that really protect his teeth if somebody does, you know, go after him, you know, and tackle him.
