a chance to get in before 8 40 okay so before 8 40 we'll give you a shot to get into naughty mom's night out so don't go anywhere all right uh mojo in the morning show so i have a quick question just to throw out to you guys but the listeners can weigh in on this one too So as a dad and as a husband, do I have to buy gifts now for Mother's Day for the eldest of my kids? Now, Luke, I can understand because he's just like on that cusp, you know, graduating high school and stuff. But I had so I had a conversation with my boys over the weekend trying to explain to them that it was like go time right now. Like, you know, if this was, you know, shooting off into space like the launch pad time. Yeah. You know, you would need to need to be ready to go and ready to to get ready to, you know, have all your stuff in a row. Just be prepared. But I said to them, you guys got like a week to get something into your mom and don't do this whole thing because this is the thing that Joe does all the time. Joe does the whole thing. Oh, I ordered it and it's on back order and it's coming. And then I'll call him up and go, it wasn't on back order. And he goes, well, Amazon delivers everything same day sometimes. I'm like, Amazon delivers like mouthwash and toothpaste the same day. They don't deliver gifts to your mom. And I don't know what you're buying your mom, but they're not delivering it the same day. You know what I mean? Like, it's not a Mother's Day gift the same day.

00:03:33 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 6:

And you shouldn't be doing it 48 hours before Mother's Day anyway if you have to order something.

00:03:37 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 5:

If you're ordering flowers, do you understand that the florist, it's the busiest time for the florist. Like, these florists don't necessarily have time to be jacking around with this. So I said to them, you guys got to get your gifts in. And now Joe has a full-time job, obviously. You know, he does the morning show and afternoon shows. called the joe show jacob on the other hand is still in school he's still in college but he's got a paid internship that he gets paid for and honestly if he needed money i would give him money for this and i you know i think that they need to pick something out like for luke for instance i'm making luke go with me to pick something out so i'm taking luke and we're gonna go and we're gonna buy something because i don't want to pick something out and then luke go when chelsea opens up oh my god that was so great and he goes what was it like because that's yeah oh yeah that's happened before and i don't want to do the whole thing where i just throw the kids names on there but i will say this to ease the pain that's on chelsea sometimes because she's had this before all she wants is a card like she wants a handmade card it doesn't cost anything yeah yeah like even as grown adults you know she wants them to just make a handmade card i think it's smart of you

00:04:48 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

to remind joe but i don't think it is your responsibility to like be on his case every single day leading up to Sunday because he's he's he's old enough Jacob too actually although Jacob's so busy with school I'm sure that

00:05:00 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 2:

this could like slip his mind but um i think i was gonna say i think they're they're big boys they said no now and truly i mean as a mom the card with something in it means the absolute most to me is chelsea's love language words of affirmation oh yeah okay yeah so yeah all

00:05:20 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 4:

these guys need to do is write a card something seriously you were about to say stupid no i was gonna say simple but i was gonna say stupid but then i caught myself and figured out another word to say but something as simple as something as simple as i you know love you mom here's a construction and then listen to what joe did last year joe last year took a picture of it and asked me to to copy it on my printer at work and then bring it in to his mom so it doesn't even have it's not even handwritten no it was him and i'm like that is like the the worst thing ever i want

00:05:56 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 2:

to shout out all of like the elementary school teachers too because you save the dads when it comes to mother's day yeah by creating all of these little projects that our kids bring home for us that are made because i know i know there are moms that don't love those those are actually my favorite things ever when your kids are grown kids when they're older there's no teacher making

00:06:16 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 4:

macaroni necklaces with them honestly i think that if jacob did a macaroni necklace because that he seems like the type of kid that would do it she would go crazy i know yeah what's up dylan and yet I'm buying or something at Lucido Fine Jewelry. Fran, do you have a macaroni necklace that I can buy? What's up, Dylan? What's going on?

00:06:35 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Can you guys hear me all right? I can hear you.

00:06:37 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

Where are you? Are you calling us from the middle of the ocean or where are you at?

00:06:41 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 5:

No, I'm calling from downtown Detroit, actually. Oh, okay. On the way to work.

00:06:45 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 4:

What's happening?

00:06:48 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 5:

I believe that, no, you should not have to remind them about Mother's Day, especially if they are almost grown adults.

00:06:54 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Thank you. Why did I not have you as a son?

00:07:00 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 5:

I mean, they're almost grown adults. Whenever they have a girlfriend or a wife, there's going to be nobody to remind them about anniversaries, birthdays, nothing like that.

00:07:09 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

So you're saying they need to fail and fall on their face, otherwise they'll have the same issues later in life.

00:07:19 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. They have to learn through the state.

00:07:22 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 2:

I get what you're saying. The problem is it only hurts Chelsea then.

00:07:25 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:26 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 2:

She's the casualty there.

00:07:27 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 4:

And the problem is, knowing Joe, he'd probably do something for his girlfriend, but not do it for his mom. What's going on, Janet?

00:07:36 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 6:

Hi. Hey. It's not the object. It's just the thought that counts. So it doesn't matter what it is. It's just they have to. If they're earning income, they should get their mom something.

00:07:47 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Will you do me a favor? Will you call 933-FLZ? I'm going to remind you. Yeah, the request line number and tell him that, please. Yes.

00:07:57 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 6:

I'm actually a procrastinator. I've been telling my husband, hey, it's Mother's Day, such and such date, hey. And I still have not gone to go get my mom and mother-in-law's gifts either.

00:08:06 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, you got to – here's the thing. Sometimes you don't practice what you preach, and you don't realize it. I planned on buying Chelsea's gift like weeks ago because I said I wasn't going to screw up again. Guess what? Yes. Luke and I still haven't gone out to buy the gift.

00:08:20 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 6:

And I just went to Kroger's yesterday, and there's so many beautiful flowers at Kroger.

00:08:25 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

You know what? They have a great floral apartment. I've mentioned that this morning. They're seriously beautiful. The other thing I wanted to throw out there, too, is what ends up happening when you procrastinate is you buy something that's more expensive than you need to buy.

00:08:37 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:08:37 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 4:

And so you end up buying something that doesn't matter.

00:08:40 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 2:

It's not a good fit. No. It's like the desperate.

00:08:43 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 4:

Exactly. I've done that for Chelsea over the years. Yeah. All right. Naughty Moms, night out. maybe it wouldn't be funny. Jacob, dad, can you just give mom some passes to Naughty Mom's Night Out? Sure, Jacob, we'll do that. We'll give you a chance to get in coming up in just a second.
