00:02:07 - 00:02:18 | Speaker 6:

All right, it is Mojo in the morning show. Kevin said something yesterday, and he almost got his butt whooped by his mother for saying it. What was it, Kevin?

00:02:18 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 7:

so um shirelle is on her cycle right now and uh she got endometriosis so her periods are like very uncomfortable and really hard at times and i understand that very supportive of her you know want to make sure she's comfortable the whole nine now if you are a male in a relationship with a female you know that women can become very snappy very irritable rightfully so i'm not saying any of these things are wrong but you have to be aware of this and as a male you have to understand or anybody if you're in a relationship you have to understand that your partner if they're going through a cycle that that emotion that reaction uh comes with it and it may not be because of something that you did or if you did do something then what could be a level one reaction is now a level 101 and i don't even remember what josiah did but it didn't warrant the reaction and response that sherelle gave him and i can tell that he was kind of like yeah so i'm like hey buddy here's uh here's what's going on sherelle on her period and when women are on a period sometimes they get really irritable and they can lash out so in this moment don't think that sherelle is really mad at you or this thing that you did is like as bad as it seems she just on her period and when you get older you'll realize what's going on so just kind of like

00:03:38 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 3:

brush it off and take it easy did you say that i'm saying this out loud no no no my The question is, did you say that in front of Sherelle?

00:03:46 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, Sherelle in the room, my mom, it's been a joy having my mom. My mom been over for like a week for like no real reason. But she's just been over. Wait, wait, wait. Your mom, is she like living with you guys right now? No, I mean, she still got her home, but she just been over for like a week. I really don't know why, to be honest with you, but it's been kind of cool to be for her.

00:04:02 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 3:

Okay, what was Sherelle's reaction when she heard you explain that to Josiah?

00:04:06 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 7:

She didn't lash out. She gave me like a I'll beat your ass kind of look. Like her eyes were really large and like fuming, but she just went on about, like, what she was doing. Like, I'm not about to address this with you right now. My mom was like, Kevin, don't you say that. I'm like, what do you mean? And then she kind of, like, she didn't want to go off. She just kind of stopped right there. Like, she didn't even want to further explain herself. I'm like, what do you mean? What do you mean? She just like, mm, mm, mm, mm.

00:04:31 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 3:

She just started shaking her head. I can see this with your mom. I can see this scene. She was like, mm, mm.

00:04:37 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 7:

I don't think I was wrong, though. I think that was a real moment to express to Josiah

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

what can happen you shaking your head i actually agree like the the explanation it's age appropriate but i wouldn't have done it in front of sherelle because i would have given wes the same exact eyes if he would have done that in front of me you think that is is it okay for him to say that she's

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 4:

women are on their cycle. When they're on their cycle, this is how they act?

00:05:03 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 1:

Absolutely not. She and Murphy. No. See, I actually think, like, at 11, 12 years old, what is he? 11? Yeah, he's 11. I think that letting him know that, like, maybe what he did was wrong, but it didn't warrant that strong of a reaction, and, like, let's give her grace because she might be on her period, is, I really do think it's age appropriate, just not in front of her. Because I would have been pissed.

00:05:24 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 4:

Disagree. I personally would have not handled it that way. Megan, what would you have done?

00:05:28 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 2:

I think you now give him an opportunity to dismiss every time a woman is upset with him by saying, I think she's on her period. Is that what Sherelle said? That's an interesting point.

00:05:37 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 3:

So I talked to Sherelle. This happened like two days ago. I talked to Sherelle yesterday because I told her what I was going to say today, and that's literally what she said.

00:05:44 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 2:

Because now every time a woman in his life is mad at him, he's going to go, well, I didn't do anything wrong. She must be on her period, so she's overreacting. I might change my mind. That really is not good.

00:05:55 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 4:

Hold on. Kev's mom is on the phone. Good morning. hello beautiful lady good morning how are you we're good you just woke up by the way when kev's mom goes like that when the when three of them come out of your mouth you know he did wrong

00:06:12 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 3:

correct so i'm talking about when sherelle had said she snapped at josiah and i told josiah that it's okay sherelle just on her period this is what happens sometimes and sherelle stormed the room and he was like don't say that man i was like why and then you know he was like i don't think that's a bad thing to do i agree i fully agree with megan's point though but

00:06:40 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 2:

you're invalidating women's anger at the point by just saying it's a symptom of periods and not

00:06:45 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 3:

due to your own behavior and actions i think case by case and in this particular case her reaction was, I think, a little bit more because, you know, she's on her period. Kev's mom, what are your thoughts?

00:06:58 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 7:

Well, I agree with what Kevin was saying. It was her cycle, and she did have a little attitude.

00:07:10 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 3:

See? I ain't lying. But.

00:07:14 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 4:

It is like a but. But he should not have done it in front of her. He probably should have gone to the other room, you're thinking, maybe, and said something.

00:07:21 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 7:

Without getting ready to say, he should be gone to another room.

00:07:25 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:26 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

See, but sometimes you got to address things in the moment because the emotion and the understanding can be tied together, and you lose some of that when you try to teach a lesson outside of the moment that the lesson was actually realized in.

00:07:44 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 2:

But was it a teaching moment, or was it a way to bring it up in a passive-aggressive way in front of Sherelle?

00:07:49 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 3:

I wasn't being passive-aggressive at all. It was, hey, you yelling at Josiah, and this is the reason why she yelling at you, Joe. She on her period.

00:07:58 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 4:

She was probably, knowing Kevin, he was probably going, And he was like, Joe, Joe, this is what happens when ladies bleed.

00:08:18 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 3:

All right, Ma, I love you.

00:08:21 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

Wait, wait, he wants to rush you off the phone. I don't want to rush you off the phone. I haven't talked to you in a while.

00:08:26 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 7:

I want to go back to my dream. Go ahead. We love you. Take care.

00:08:31 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. hold on hold on a second christina what's up it's mojo in the morning what'd you want to say

00:08:36 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 6:

good morning guys so um i think that the way i would have liked it handled is um maybe like if you would have went to cheryl just like oh dang babe like like maybe that was a good way like it seems like that kind of like surprised josiah and it should have been up to cheryl to explain to him if she wanted to because like you said it's case by case so not everything she's reacting to it because of her period but if it was her period she could explain that herself but i don't think that everything should be chopped up to her period okay all right i see i see some

00:09:09 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 5:

truth in there uh tamra what's up it's mojo in the morning yeah so i'm uh very rarely do i agree with kev i'm having a hard time even saying yeah it kind of hurts a little bit um i'm having a moment um i am going to give him the benefit of the doubt because i do think so i am a therapist and i do think it's important to especially with children teach them that sometimes it's not necessarily about you or your actions but maybe that person is what they're going through and maybe like when people are in pain we don't tolerate as much so just to be letting him know Like, hey, right now, she's going through a lot of pain and something that you don't quite understand.

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

And so she's not able to tolerate things right now, but as well.

00:10:05 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 5:

Interesting. Okay. The therapist agrees. Good points. Thank you. And by the way, it's okay every now and again to agree with Kev.

00:10:12 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 6:

I know. I know. It just hurts.

00:10:15 - 00:10:15 | Unknown:

I know.

00:10:16 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 5:

Somebody texted in and said, in our house, it's known as Shark Week. That's insane. Oh, my God. Josiah's mom is on the phone. Did you see this? We getting everybody, huh? And Josiah's mom, Jasmine, is on the phone. What up, Jazz?

00:10:33 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:10:34 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 6:

Yes, good morning, everyone. Good morning.

00:10:37 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 5:

How do you think the father of your baby co-parented and did all this stuff? Go ahead. Yes.

00:10:45 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's a Kevin moment for sure. I'm not surprised. Yes. I don't disagree with it only because of who Josiah is. Josiah is very nurturing. um so like if cherelle would have came back and say like sorry or i you know whatever the case is and kind of explain to him what was going on he would have like brought her ice cream cake candy blankets like all that stuff because he does that to me when i'm on my cycle does he know when you're on your cycle yeah because i'll have to tell him like i'm short cute bro like you got to relax and he'll be like okay you need some ice cream you want ice pack heat pad and he'll bring me like all the things that is so cute i just openly communicate with him like it's not i can't i can't

00:11:26 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 5:

say okay all right there you go so that's that's a good thing so that uh but but when josiah you just tell josiah i'm i'm having a bad week or do you tell him this is my does he note now he knows

00:11:39 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 6:

what a period is because kevin just told him that yeah he already knew it that's what i'm saying Just open communication, at least the explanation of why outside of just a period of, like, the mental of how it goes for a woman. And then Josiah is already nurturing, so I think that would have made a difference with him showing up for Shereen and saying, okay, I understand why you did that versus it might still be some animosity maybe.

00:12:03 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 5:

How does it – I would like to know, Kevin, though, how does this explain your periods that you have? Oh, I knew it was coming.

00:12:10 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 6:

Oh, Kevin has them. Tell him, Kevin. Tell him, Kevin.

00:12:14 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 5:

Okay, we all know that.

00:12:18 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 1:

Kev, he's an ass sometimes.

00:12:20 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 3:
