All right, it is Mojo in the morning. So when you're in a movie and the people that are around you are talking the entire movie, what do you do?

I don't know what to do. So yesterday I took my mom to see that new Spike Lee Denzel Washington movie, Highest to Lowest. We went to Imagine, and it came out this weekend, and the theater was packed. Now, normally when I go to the movies, I like to go early in the day or middle of the day during the week when typically people don't go to the theaters because I like to fully enjoy the experience without anybody else in there. But that isn't always the case. So like I said, I went last night. The theater is packed, sold out, one of the huge Emax theaters. So there's over 100 seats. Everybody's in there. and there was two women who came into the theater about five minutes after the movie started so you know last showing of the evening they you know fall in there it's all good now i'm under the impression that these women were like friends girlfriends who like to kiki and ha-ha while they watch their movie kiki yeah you know what i'm saying they get to talking their girlfriends so in my mind i'm like okay allow them to enjoy their experience i don't want to be the person that's like ruining your experience i don't want my experience ruined but i don't want to be like be quiet hey can y'all keep it down but i i feel like that's almost what you have to do in a situation where almost every single denzel scene they snickering they saying stuff to each other i just feel like i don't know in my mind i wish we lived in a world where people understood that when you go to the movies like shut up you know what i'm saying if if it's a funny part that

comes on laugh at the funny part do you uh not like it also when they talk during the previews because people for some reason think that the only time that they should be quiet is during the movie and then they're they ruin the previews too i'm okay with that really i'm okay with it because

i'm not honest i feel like i paid to see the movie and a part of the movie going experience to your point the preview is everything that leads up to it but as long as you shut up once or whenever once the lights go dark your mouth shut up too see i hate that i i like i want to

watch the previews and i hate when people talk during the previews now who talks more because i have gone to two different types of uh talking movies i've gone to the movies that are the big blockbusters where there's a lot of teenagers there and you're there in the movie and it's a bunch of kids like high school kids and they are talking the whole time and they're being in pains in the acid.

Then I've also gone to the movie where I hate to say this, and I don't want to sound like I'm being a racial.

I will say this, though.

You guys. You're out of control. Come on. I would pay money to see you go to a Tyler Perry movie. First off, you're not going to see Tyler. You're not paying to go see a Tyler Perry movie.

Okay, the last movie, the first one I ever saw was honestly one of my favorites. The first Tyler Perry movie I ever saw was, what was the Tyler Perry movie where Chris Brown was also in the movie? Do you know what I'm talking about?

Chris Brown ain't been in no Tyler Perry movie. You're thinking about this Christmas, and that's not a Tyler Perry movie.

No, there was a, no, okay, maybe it was, hold on, I was trying to think. No, I've seen, no, I've seen, no, I've seen Madea movies. I'm not kidding you. I've seen back in the day, I saw Madea movies. But I remember seeing a movie, and it was Chris Brown in the movie, Janet Jackson was in the movie.

That's not, they're not in the same movie.

They were in, like, the same movie, I swear to you. Chris Brown and Janet Jackson.

Why did I get married? That's the Janet Jackson joints. And she was in For Color Girls. That was another time.

Well, no, okay. There was one movie, and these women were talking the entire movie.

Like, don't you go there, girl. Like, they're screaming out of the thing. Tyler Perry is a movie that evokes that out of black women. He wrote it for black women. I mean, hell, he 50% of black women. That's how you get Medea. I was, like, sitting there the entire time.

Oh, no, girl.

But listen, and I ain't going to say all this, but the young teenage kids that was in the same Imagine, they weren't black. And they talked the whole damn time.

I'm telling you. Now, yesterday. Who were these people? Those were some black women. That's why I said they was in there. It's Denzel Washington, though. So, I mean, there you go.

That's their man right there. Was your mom getting upset?

Yeah, she was mad. My mom, she'd be like. I can't take no more. She'd be like.

So instead of shushing them, you should just sick your mom on them and tell your mom to go after them.

We're not about to do all of that. No? But that's the thing. I don't want to ruin it. If they're in, who knows they situation. In my mind, I like to create stories. Yeah. So my mom's like, man, these two women, they haven't been out in a while. They're catching up with each other. They've loved Denzel for 30 years. In my mind, like, let them have their two hours.

Your mom is making excuses for them. No, that's me. Oh, that was you. I'm doing this. Oh, you're making excuses. I'm building the story in my head. And you're like, Mom, settle down.

Yeah, I'm like, it's all good. She was sitting closer to him, so she probably heard it louder than I did.

Are you in the, you said imagine, so you're in those nice, comfortable chairs. Oh, for sure.

We leaned all the way back.

It's amazing when you're in those comfortable chairs, and there's less of them in the theater. It still makes it even just as obnoxious. Because back in the day, before they had those seats, and they would have those big stadium theaters, and it'd be so loud in there. The people would be so loud. What's going on? You know what the worst is? They finally get up. Marvin, the worst is going to see a movie like that, which is like a suspenseful kind of horror movie. like thriller movie, the people talking at the screen during those things, like the yelling and screaming. It's like, come on, shut up. We don't need to hear you. I want to hear the movie. Jamal, what's up?

Back when Black Panther came out, man, you and Spike came up to the movies and you wanted people to be able to yell through the movie, but Black Panther wasn't that type of movie. It wasn't that movie where people were talking about don't go through the door or anything. But you was upset because people didn't talk through the movie.

You remember that. That was funny. I was talking because I had just seen. Do you remember when Star Southfield was around? Of course. That's the most beautiful theater of all time, by the way. It was my favorite theater of all time. I went to the AMC Star Southfield, which, by the way, had great food, too. With the glitter concrete. And they had the restaurant that was right up front. but I remember going to see a movie and it was the last one I saw. People were screaming and yelling the entire movie. So I said, we're going to do this to it. And what's the next movie premiere. And it just so happened to be the next one was black Panther. What's up, Jackie.
