all right it's mojo in the morning show so kev uh we got to talk to uh kev about this one kev is He's our new guy here working with us here for, what, a couple of weeks now?

00:01:25 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm in the third week, I think.

00:01:27 - 00:01:38 | Speaker 4:

And I feel honestly already that since you've been here, I feel more awake in the morning because you shock me to wake up at moments when all of a sudden I hear, Yeah! Hey! Oh, hey!

00:01:39 - 00:01:44 | Speaker 2:

Kev comes in, he hugs everybody in the room. He's yelling, he's singing.

00:01:44 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 4:

Very upbeat. Honestly, the total vibe in the studio is completely like a lot more upbeat with you kind of hanging out with us. But there are certain things, though, that we need to leave it to the young folk.

00:01:58 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Talking about upbeat, there are just some people that aren't.

00:02:01 - 00:02:11 | Speaker 4:

Real quick. Real quick. I have not heard this topic yet. Are you referring to anything with me? Because if you're referring to anything with me and calling me out on this one here right now, I need to be prepared.

00:02:11 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 5:

No. Sounds like straight up yes. I want to start this by saying I'm in no way, shape, or form an ageist. I think that's the proper term. I love my old folks. Blessed to have my grandmother still alive, 92 years old. She's still kicking and screaming. But I just feel like there are some things in life that old people should just not do. And one of those things I felt like are, you know, it's a job. Everybody knows I got into a car accident. Long story short, the tow truck guy comes. i'm looking out of my window because i want to make sure everything goes right and he literally is like mario he's like old as hell he has no hair and he's crazy it's almost like the tow truck was too big for him like he had to like ease his way out of the tow truck he's all hunched over walking around in my car and i'm just like this guy needs help why don't they send this guy out here so i go outside because i put my keys in the glove compartment he's struggling he can't find the keys i'm like i go in the glove compartment like sir here they are he's like oh thank you i'm just like bro i'm about to go back here you look like you need help but they sent you out here so i think you got it i just feel like there are some jobs that old people should stay away from and being a tow truck driver is one of them really so okay so so you're calling out old people and

00:03:28 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 4:

mario okay i see what's going on no but i i have to tell you though that that is the interesting thing about some of the people that have come to my house recently to fix things we had a plumber Come to my house and I felt like I was His apprentice because I was so worried the guy Was going to die in my house Like He was so old that he was carrying stuff In I'm like hey let me help you carry that stuff And I kind of felt bad so this guy Was towing your car that got in that Car accident yeah man and I feel a little bad because I didn't watch The process I didn't offer help

00:03:59 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 5:

But if they send you out then you must be good

00:04:02 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 4:

But it comes to a Point where it's like if a person does A job like that and they're still doing it at that age they must still be able to do it right nobody would actually yeah

00:04:12 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 2:

or the tow truck company is just so desperate for bodies they're like you still want to work

00:04:17 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 4:

have any of our listeners ever had that happen to them before because now i'm starting to see senior citizens take on other jobs like you know more senior citizens now you know working at restaurants as servers more senior citizens you know now are kind of like helping out in all different ways they used to be the person at the front of the story that just said hello to you Now they're the person having to stock shelves Because there's nobody that showed up for work But I feel bad, like I agree with you I feel bad that They're working and I don't want them to like hurt themselves Exactly

00:04:48 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 5:

A tow truck is for a young person

00:04:51 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 4:

Yeah

00:04:51 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

I mean that's labor intensive I want an old person who's been around cars for 40 years To know exactly where to hook it up A young person

00:05:00 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 3:

A person would hook it up to the body and not the frame and ruin my car. An old person knows how every, he probably made the parts of that car at some point. But sometimes it does require like a big physical effort. Like when I hit that tree a couple years ago during the ice storm and they had to like get my car. Like the guy had to push it to get it into a position where he could attach the truck to my car.

00:05:22 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 2:

What if the, wait, what if the guy, what if the old person says, hey, I can't get to this thing. Kev, can you push the thing out? And he's sitting in the car all warm and cozy.

00:05:32 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 1:

I'm just going to shake my head.

00:05:35 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 2:

844 Mojo Live, 844-665-6548. Where have you seen an almost death person doing something? Oh, my God.

00:05:44 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 5:

You don't have to phrase it like that.

00:05:46 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

I'm not an ageist, but they're called that now. That's a proper term. That is a proper term. They're using that nowadays. But where have you seen a person that was so old working and you kind of felt bad for them? Like, if I work at or go to a restaurant, I've been to restaurants before where the lady was, like, 80 years old and she's getting my order. I wanted to go to the kitchen and actually get it for her. Your plates are shaking when she's bringing it back.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 3:

Your coffee's all over. Eggs, right.

00:06:11 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Kelly? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning.

00:06:14 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 4:

Hi, I was just calling to say that my dad is a tow truck driver and he is 62 years old. Oh, my gosh, maybe this was him.

00:06:21 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

Does he look like Mario? That is not old to me. Yeah, that's still young. 62 is not old. Yeah.

00:06:25 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 4:

Well, he's still young in my eyes, but he's been doing it for a long time. He does the police towing. So if you get into a car accident, he's the guy that will tow your car.

00:06:34 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

Wait, how old was this guy that was?

00:06:36 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 1:

I feel like he was older than 62.

00:06:38 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 2:

Really? Yeah. His body had 80. His body said 80. 80 years old. Now, that is way too old, don't you think, to be towing cars? I mean, I know that the guy knows what he's doing, but still.

00:06:49 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 4:

If you don't have a pension and you can't retire, you just keep doing it.

00:06:52 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 2:

I know, but then there's got to be, like, he can be the dispatch guy in the office. What's up, Christina?

00:06:59 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 6:

Hi. I just wanted to call in. I don't know who it was that was saying that elderly shouldn't be tow truck drivers.

00:07:05 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 2:

No, no, no. Kevin was not saying that they shouldn't be tow truck drivers. He's saying if you're 80 years old, you're going to die being a tow truck driver. That's what he was saying.

00:07:14 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 6:

Okay, sorry. No, I'm just kidding. We woke up late. But I just had one out of Twin Lake, Michigan a few weeks ago. I forget the name of the actual company. But I'd like to shout him out because he was not only very polite and courteous, he was very cautious with my vehicle.

00:07:30 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 2:

How old was he?

00:07:31 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 6:

He said he was 72 years old. Oh, come on.

00:07:34 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 2:

You let that guy get underneath your car to put that. Absolutely.

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 7:

Absolutely.

00:07:40 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 2:

When he was getting up, did you help him get up?

00:07:43 - 00:07:43 | Unknown:

I did.

00:07:44 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 7:

I did. You did?

00:07:46 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 2:

See, I don't know. I feel worried about him. What's up, Neo? What's going on?

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 7:

Hey. What's up?

00:07:53 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 2:

How you doing?

00:07:55 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 7:

I'm doing good.

00:07:56 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 2:

What's up?

00:07:58 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 7:

So, I would order DoorDash a lot from my apartment because I was really lazy, and I lived on the third floor, but we didn't have an elevator. So, this old person dropped off my order, and they messaged me to help him down the stairs. Oh, my gosh.

00:08:19 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

See?

00:08:20 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 7:

Oh, gosh. I felt so bad. I gave him, like, $20 cash, like, extra tip and, like, walked him down. It's a scam. Yeah. You think that's a bit? Is that a bit?

00:08:31 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 1:

You know how people, like, jump up and click their heels? The moment he got outside. Got him. That is a scam-a-lamo.

00:08:38 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh.

00:08:40 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 7:

I felt so bad, and I actually kind of stopped ordering DoorDash for that reason. I was like, I'm not doing this again.

00:08:46 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. What's up, Samantha? How you doing?

00:08:49 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 5:

Hi.

00:08:49 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 2:

Hey, what's happening?

00:08:51 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 5:

Oh, not much. Yeah, I work for the conservation district in my area, and we work with a Sawyer who's 84, 85.

00:09:00 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 2:

What does that person do? I don't understand.

00:09:02 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 5:

Oh, so he cuts down trees. He has his chainsaw, and he comes out with those, and he cuts down our big trees.

00:09:09 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 2:

And he's how old?

00:09:11 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 5:

Like 84, 85.

00:09:13 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Wow.

00:09:14 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

That's like a chainsaw. That's amazing. How high up in the tree does he go? Does he go up high, or is he like?

00:09:20 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 5:

No, he's like on the ground We do like this

00:09:24 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 2:

By the way, he can't even get Enough energy to say timber When everything's falling down

00:09:31 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 5:

He just pieces up Like I'm always surprised

00:09:35 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

Amazing, I can't believe this Helen, you're right, I see this all the time When I go to Pine Knob, but the old people That work at Pine Knob

00:09:43 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 4:

Oh my goodness, can you hear me?

00:09:46 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Yes, how you doing? I went to a concert I went to go see Zac Brown the guy was walking me my seat he gives me my tickets and says just count up the rows he was he was like done he didn't want to take me to my seat absolutely we thought the same thing we were

00:10:00 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 5:

Unfortunately, on Friday night, my daughter and I, and I mean, I'm in my 50s, so I'm sickly young. Yeah. And I'm looking at these ushers, and I'm like, holy smoke, are they doing this because they want to be or because they need to be? I mean, they seem to be having fun.

00:10:15 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 4:

Well, they hired them. You know why they hired them? They hired them because they already lost their hearing.

00:10:22 - 00:10:23 | Unknown:

I'm going out.

00:10:24 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 4:

Don't you guys kill my retirement plan. Don't kill my retirement plan. That's why I'm going out. you guys. Oh, hold on a second. Hold on. Our elderly president wants to make a comment. What did you want to say about me? What a stupid son of a bitch.
