Beetlejuice So at Beetlejuice someone decided to steal your phone Almost So at the end of the show And I don't know Spike if you caught this Because you were actually sitting right next to me But there was a Woman behind me Who when we stood up in the end To give our aurorous applause To the amazing cast She leaned down And my phone, which was like, you know how you sit with your phone in between your legs? And I, like, stood up and it was still in the seat. Yes. She leaned down and she started to grab it. And you know how you can sense when a person behind you is, like, near you?

Yeah. You just get that weird feeling.

Yeah. And I felt somebody near me. So I turned around, didn't realize. She's reaching for my phone, looks up at my eyes, goes, oh. Like, I got caught. And then goes, is this your phone? Yeah. It's my phone. It's on my seat. What are you talking about? You're leaning over onto my seat, grabbing my phone. It's my phone.

Yeah, it's like you didn't find it on the floor by the door. You found it on my seat that you just saw me sitting on.

And you weren't getting ready to leave or anything, right? No, it was just the – Just at the end. Yes.

Okay. A little standing ovation moment because I deserved it. I was going to say, if you were on your way out –

But I caught her red-handed, and I never knew, like, how often do you catch the person trying to steal it? Because I'm the most unobservant person in the entire world. Like, I'll be driving, and my brother will be like, we just passed three cops. And I'm like, where? He's, like, on the side of the road. Like, what happened? I honestly shouldn't have a driver's license, but, yeah, it was just crazy that I'm the most unobservant person ever, and I caught you red-handed, and then it was the worst excuse to get, is this your phone?

No, no, Linda, no, it's not. Listen, I have to tell you that those criminals know what they're doing, man, when it comes to, like, pickpockets and stuff. I always hear stories all the time about in crowded areas like leaving the theater like you had where people should always put their hands in their pockets and hold on to everything because that's where people will bump into you and kind of like make that move.

You know where I'm the worst? Do my clothes have pockets?

Oh. The worst, and I do this. I don't know, Megan, if you do it. I feel like we all do it, is if you're sitting outside at a restaurant, especially on like a patio where people can walk by you're not supposed to have your phone out on the table where they can just grab it if you're deep in conversation

And I'm so guilty of doing that. I do it all the time. I just leave my phone right there. And half the time, I'm not paying attention.

Did you see that there's a bunch of kids that are running into businesses, like places like restaurants and things like that. And they're probably no older than like 14 or so years old. And they just run around and start grabbing everybody's phones and run out of the place.

That's terrifying.

Honestly, it's unbelievable. Like that, the catalytic converter, you know, people just ripping off the catalytic converters. the people that like do the flash mob theft in stores um grace what's going on megan caught a

thief so yeah so we went into a restaurant eight left my husband left his phone on the the table he went back in looking for it the people that were sitting there after we left said that they didn't have it i went in back in with him called the phone this woman had it in her purse oh wow we're talking like a 50 year old woman it was like crazy it's like i can't believe

she just said that. Can I ask you a question? Because I always want to know what these people look like. Did she just look like a normal, nice 50-year-old lady?

Well, it was in Milford, so she looked more than normal.

a a show at the opera house right so we have a store in detroit a party store yes i'm caldian and my husband had his phone in his back pocket and a really good customer as well. I mean, she has issues too. I mean, you know, issues. Anyway.

She sounds like my sister, Pat. Okay, and what happened?

So he reaches in his back pocket, the phone's gone. And my daughter was working with him that day And she tried, you know, we all have a locator on each other. And she's like, Dad, I can locate your phone. Well, he found it. It was at a bus stop somewhere in Detroit. So he and a customer went there. It was the woman that he always helps out that has issues. And she says, oh, I found it on the floor.

Yeah, right. Does she still come into your guys' store?

No, no, he kicked her out. But my daughter dates a guy who has a pawn shop in Warren. and I guess she sold. My husband had his phone stolen one time before and her boyfriend said, oh yeah, she came in there and pawned the phone off to us.

Oh my God.

Repeat offender.

And that must be where they take these phones, Megan, to the pawn shop and sell these things. I can't believe the pawn shops will buy that though.

Well, they do have rules and laws. They got to wait. They got to hold onto things for a certain amount of time before they're allowed to resell it. If someone comes in with a big pile of jewelry or a phone, like they can't just turn it right around because they have to leave a time a window for any missing items to be reported or stolen items do you get good deals at a pawn shop because like

i've been looking to get some nice jewelry for myself but i just i don't know if i can

afford it right now wait would you buy somebody's stolen property well not the stolen but like maybe

a loved one had passed and they were trying to treat themselves to a vacation in their memory and in order to do that, they were selling their stuff.

Or their spouse cheated on them and they pawned the ring. Something like that, right?
