Back to Mojo in the morning.

00:01:43 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Cab's going to talk about something here in a second. I want everybody to oppose him, okay? He's not in the studio, so he can't hear me. I want everybody to call up and go, you're in the wrong, you're in the wrong, you're in the wrong, okay? So when he comes in and tells his story, just tell him flat out what you did, Kev, was completely wrong, out of line, you shouldn't have done it.

00:02:07 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 4:

I literally love doing this. Where is he?

00:02:09 - 00:02:11 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. Lydia, where is Kev at?

00:02:12 - 00:02:13 | Speaker 2:

He said he was coming down to you.

00:02:14 - 00:02:21 | Speaker 5:

I don't see him. He's next up on the topic here right now. It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Good to have you guys here with us.

00:02:21 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 4:

There he is.

00:02:22 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 6:

Where were you? I was talking to one of our sales associates.

00:02:26 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 5:

Okay.

00:02:26 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah. She's going through a situation. I ain't going to bring no air dogs.

00:02:29 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 5:

Oh, well. Well, I understand you got a situation, too. I understand that you may never go back to Starbucks ever again. Is that true?

00:02:36 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 6:

Listen, you got to tell me, am I the problem? Am I wrong in this situation? So I went to Target yesterday, and it's one of those Targets that have the Starbucks inside. Yeah. And they close at like 8, I think, or something like that. And I showed up, maybe $7.50, maybe $7.55, maybe $7.57. I don't know. So I walk up to the line because there's no gate or anything. I don't think there ever is a gate. But the person is behind the counter. There's a woman to the side that's waiting on her order to be made and to receive it. And I walk up. And maybe I'm the issue because I said, are you guys still open? But it was more so of like, to me, y'all look open because you back there. She over here waiting. There's no little turnaround, little door. Now he's like, no, we actually close. But it's not 8 o'clock. And in my mind, when you say you close as a business, you close at 8, you're serving up until it's 8.

00:03:30 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. So you're saying that, hey, even though they probably got ahead of time and started cleaning up their stuff and trying to go home for the day, you're saying I'm the customer, the customer's always right.

00:03:42 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Not in this situation.

00:03:43 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 5:

Why?

00:03:44 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 4:

because i think it's like they want to if if the last drink cannot be made by eight o'clock

00:03:51 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 6:

they're they're done yeah so you were kind of a jerk i agree with you too if y'all i fully disagree i agree with you too i'm saying i worked at subway maybe i'm not safe food certified but i worked at subway and in my mind that preparing to close is a real thing you yeah let me mop up the back let me chop up let me label things let me do all the things so i can leave as close to eight as possible but i don't lock the door until eight so when i worked in retail and we could we

00:04:17 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 4:

would close at nine because i worked in the mall and people would come in at 8 58 and want to wander around the dang store and then they would buy something and then they would want it gift wrapped because it was free gift wrap and i was a gift wrapper of the store and i wouldn't get out of

00:04:31 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 6:

there then until like 20 after night see that's wrong that's at eight what's different well here's the thing you can if i show up at 758 or 757 and i'm order a quick drink i'm not walking around i'm not meandering around the store i'm not lollygagging because i know you in i'm coming in i'm ordering before the time you close it's up to you how fast you gonna make it why don't we do this shannon and

00:04:53 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 5:

i don't agree with you why don't we leave it up to the listeners let's see what the listeners think about this let's see if Kev, if you think that Kev, you know, should be the customer always right, or was Kev wrong? What do you think, Kenny? Hi.

00:05:11 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 1:

What's going on, guys?

00:05:12 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 5:

How you doing? Your thoughts on this. What's your opinion?

00:05:16 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 1:

So, I just want to say, Kev's out of pocket on this one, especially when you're coming in five minutes before they close. Dude, when I worked at BK in high school, we would have people coming into the drive-thru at like five minutes before we would close. We had already dumped all the food, and we were already cleaning, and we would just ignore it.

00:05:35 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 6:

Can I play something out to you, Kenny? No, go ahead, Kenny. I want you to fully finish. Go ahead. Go ahead.

00:05:41 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

I'm just saying, you can't. I mean, I understand, like, they're open, but, like, they're trying to get that last customer out. Whopper, whopper, whopper, whopper. You have to be courteous.

00:05:50 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 6:

Okay, here's the thing. Kenny, you said two amazing things in that sentence. You said, one of the things that you said was, we're open. Hello? And the other thing you said is, we're not closed. So if you're open and you're not closed, then why aren't you serving? Because you want to leave early? No, you close at 8 o'clock.

00:06:10 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 4:

Cab, he gave you his opinion.

00:06:12 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 6:

You don't get your way of decay. I'm giving mine. You don't get your way of decay.

00:06:15 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 4:

It's the king's way.

00:06:16 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 6:

Exactly. Kenny's the king. You can't always get what you want.

00:06:21 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

It's like when I worked at a restaurant and we closed at, so it was 10 o'clock. If you walk in in the 9 o'clock hour, that's really rude. You better be out. It takes longer than that for a full food service. It takes longer than that to make your drink.

00:06:35 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 6:

This is not about being rude. This is about the... Okay, so if we want to go off air at 10.20, we can just do it even though the show don't end until 10.30, right? Because we're prepping to leave.

00:06:47 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

Wait, you know what, though? If the listeners call with a last-minute song request right now, I got no time to play that song. We got to go. You know what I mean? So I'm sorry.

00:06:56 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 6:

This is not a request. Hold on. It's not a musical question.

00:06:58 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 5:

Layla, what's your thoughts?

00:07:00 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 6:

Terrible analogy.

00:07:01 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so I work at a full-service restaurant. Some days we close at 9, some days we close at 10. But if somebody's coming in, even like 20 minutes before we close, no. Absolutely not. Oh, my God. Come on, y'all. I'm sorry. No, because it's going to take longer than that. You had all day. You had all day. You had all day. I'm telling you it's not that important. If you're that hungry, whatever. If you're McDonald's. We got our closing stuff. I'm not telling you where I work. You have a life, too.

00:07:27 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 6:

Where is Mr. and Mrs. Starbucks? Do they know that all these places are just closing early?

00:07:32 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:07:32 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

Well, that's the difference between like a corporate and, you know, like a mom and pop.

00:07:36 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I'm talking corporate. Yeah.

00:07:38 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 3:

The times are the times. I'm sorry. We have a word for that. It's called the last toll. Yeah. Okay, so let me ask you this. Don't be a last toll.

00:07:46 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 5:

There you go. The last toll. I like that. Can I ask you a question? Yeah.

00:07:49 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 6:

Are you mad if places open 10 minutes after they say they're supposed to? No. Oh, so what if you're... Because life happens.

00:07:58 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 4:

that's different though

00:08:01 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 7:

that is different because the time that it is when it's in regards to clothing it's the time that it is going to take them to prepare your order and then clean up it's going to put them over their time

00:08:16 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 2:

because opening should not be the employees show up at open opening is the employees are set up it's prepped and it's ready to go everything's ready for them to start preparing whatever you're ordering

00:08:27 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 3:

so they don't so like our openers come in 30 minutes before right and you know yeah oh i'm

00:08:32 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 6:

sorry i just hit the wrong button so so you can so when it's 6 a.m and they're open and they're ready to go and you're there at 6 a.m they can take your order but if they say they close at 8

00:08:42 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 5:

p.m then that means you cannot don't agree with you none of these people are agreeing with you

00:08:47 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 6:

i don't give a damn if they agree with me i'm telling you how i feel jen what are your thoughts

00:08:52 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

Jen. I look like I have to be gone. That's it. Kevin is completely right on this. What's that? What? Kevin is completely right on this. Excuse me. Nope. It's you close. No, he's not. I know. You must be saying

00:09:02 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 5:

the wrong thing. Wait, wait. Jen, did you... Really quick. Do you not listen to us and play along with what we said? Were you... Did you tune in in the middle of this?

00:09:13 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 3:

I've been listening to you guys since Sunday's Black this morning.

00:09:16 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 5:

Did you not hear what I said right before we went into this topic? Kev's not in the studio. What? I don't want anybody to call up and agree with them. How dare you?

00:09:26 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God. How dare you? Dude, I'd be ordering that Starbucks in 30 seconds.

00:09:33 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 5:

There we go. Okay, here we go. I feel better. I can't believe... Here's the thing. I'll order, but I'll feel bad about you. Yeah, same. Some people can't play along with games, Jen. I'm bad

00:09:46 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 3:

at following directions, I do.

00:09:47 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 5:

You are bad at following directions. So is Kev, too, showing up at 8.57, whatever time it was. What's up, Rob? Hi.

00:09:57 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

Hey, Mojo. Kev, I've been here with you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 4:

Way out of line. I love it.

00:10:02 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 2:

I'm not a win.

00:10:03 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 4:

There you go. I mean, you are way out of line. You knew what time they closed, right? No, here's the thing. I didn't go in there for Starbucks. I went to Target. And you know what? I was there open. I was like, huh. What's funny is he was going to probably order a drink that had like five or six extra ingredients in it. Give me a Vinci soy chai latte, six pumps, no water.

00:10:23 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 3:

I think that is not what you gave me. Don't put the shoe on the other foot, Kev. Yeah. The first season of the X Games League is ending in New Orleans, and only one team walks away champion.
