The World Cup is underway, and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End, with Daniel Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us, all through the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game.

00:00:44 - 00:00:58 | Speaker 8:

Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. There's so much to love, and I can hardly believe the drama that the group stage brought us. And now it's time for us to talk about the teams that are left as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th.

I'm Mangesh Atikadur, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:01:26 - 00:01:31 | Speaker 1:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

It's Mojo on the Morning Show. Is it a red flag when somebody starts liking the old pictures? They start spam liking your pictures. Oh, gosh. So Lydia, who is our phone screener, has now been hit by the same person who has hit every other member of this show, every other female of the show. DJ New Era from Alabama's show down in Birmingham, Alabama. DJ New Era, for those that have heard before us talking about him on the show and those that haven't, He does mornings in Birmingham, Alabama on a radio show that is very popular. It's Alabama in the morning. And he, for some reason, has a thing for all of the women on the Mojo in the Morning Show. And what has he been doing with you? Oh, I got to put you on this mic. Okay, there you go.

00:02:40 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 2:

Sorry. Lately, he's been spam-liking my pictures on Instagram. So the other day, I woke up to a bunch of notifications, and all it was was DJ New Era, DJ New Era, DJ New Era. Liked your photo, liked your photo, liked your photo. But here's the catch. This was not his first time doing it. He's done this before, so he'll just like three of my pictures at a time. And it'll be probably once a month that he does this. And I have no idea why.

00:03:09 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 3:

Well, because he wants attention.

00:03:10 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 2:

But he doesn't follow me. He doesn't message me. Nothing. Wait, he doesn't follow you when he's doing that? Yeah. Yeah. So I'm wondering, do guys do this because they want attention in the terms of wanting me to follow them or do they want me to like photos back? Is this a like for like, a follow for a follow?

00:03:28 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. What does that mean when somebody starts liking all of your photos and yet they still don't follow you?

00:03:35 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:03:36 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 3:

Well, I don't know about the follow part, but I've always thought that when someone's doing that, like they just want their name to flood your notifications feed. you know they want you to notice to notice them um oh really yeah i always thought that they they

00:03:49 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 5:

liked you and they're just liking the photos and they're trying to flirt a little bit but that's

00:03:53 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 3:

what i mean they want you to notice that they're doing that oh okay i thought you meant that they're just wanting you to follow them or or no like they want it to be very apparent that that's what they're doing yeah it always creeps me out if somebody likes something from a couple of years

00:04:05 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 2:

ago because you know they're doing a deep dive i know right yeah i was like oh maybe he's looking back at photos from when i was like i was just gonna say please call him what's worse so

00:04:15 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 8:

embarrassing i still have them up what's worse the spam or you like a bunch and try to get the attention or you go back and go back is it i think so yeah i think like you took that time

00:04:27 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

i think if you if you like a bunch like a bunch like if you go with a ton of them then he's just going back and he's just spending a lot of time deep diving but if he just specifically chooses a couple like of your sexier photos then he's just you know he's looking out for something oh oh my god maybe you know what i don't think that alabama knows it's here i'll dial on my my cell phone the only problem is mike and uh megan won't be able to talk because of it's on the cell phone uh or maybe you guys can you guys can hear right yeah mike and megan okay

00:05:00 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 1:

he's probably on my instagram right now liking pictures you think so yeah he's not gonna i love it i love dj new era he's just he's special just start liking his photos then it'll get his attention oh my well no because the problem is that that's like uh It's like feeding a dog. They'll never stop. That's like you give him one little taste of that, then he all of a sudden says, Ara, we're on the radio right now on the Mojo in the Morning Show. How you doing?

00:05:40 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 3:

I'm eating an apple. I'm doing great.

00:05:42 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 1:

Are you in the middle of a break or something? Are you guys on the air right now?

00:05:46 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 3:

No, we just took a minute to go step out.

00:05:49 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 1:

Okay, real quick. Hey, have you ever met Lydia from our show?

00:05:55 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

no i haven't no this is lydia but you know who she is right i'm kind of clueless right now

00:06:04 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 1:

so lydia says that recently she's been are you on speaker so that alabama can hear this too Oh, God.

00:06:21 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

What happened? Hi, Alabama.

00:06:23 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

So Lydia from our show, she's the newest member of the show. She said that recently she's been getting a lot of spam likes from you on some of her more interesting photos.

00:06:35 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 4:

Did you come down and like all of her photos? Did I? Yeah, you did. Let me look at this. When he's lying, he always says, see? I love that he pretends. What are you talking about?

00:06:45 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

Let me go look. Lydia, hello.

00:06:47 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 4:

Do I have to provide screenshots? I don't want to have to do this to you.

00:06:51 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 3:

Oh, wow. Oh, yeah, you did. I'm not even following her. What is going on, Mojo?

00:07:00 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 1:

Lydia says that you've been spam-liking her. Is it because Cupcake Shannon is getting married? I mean, I don't know. I mean, I don't know how to answer these things.

00:07:13 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 4:

I sent DJ Nuera literally a video of Shannon last night Telling the story about the panties on a stick And I was like, look how good Shannon tells stories It's so great, like trying to Talk radio stuff He goes, I don't even want to watch it anymore Because Shannon's engaged

00:07:30 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 3:

Oh my god, are you serious? I love that to hit her up I'm being petty It's been a rough morning, Mojo Please forgive me, Shannon

00:07:40 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

I like this, by the way I like that you're right away Lydia, I don't know who Lydia is Let me take a look at Lydia She is beautiful

00:07:51 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 4:

Let me click on random pictures and see if you liked it

00:07:54 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 1:

How many by the way Lydia how many has he liked

00:07:58 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 4:

Within the past probably two months I've collected a total of six likes from you

00:08:02 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 3:

Six months one

00:08:06 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 4:

Oh yeah he liked that That's one Yeah he's counting You have to see if he can get a follow

00:08:12 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

Do you notice a pattern Alabama You notice a pattern of the ones he likes?

00:08:19 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 4:

It's all the ones where

00:08:21 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

There's no pattern, Mojo

00:08:23 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

Her cleavage is showing in the pictures

00:08:26 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's not, by the way, Alabama It's not the pictures of Lydia at Bible study It's the pictures of Lydia out at the club

00:08:34 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's so great At least she got pretty feet Oh, my God Goodness

00:08:39 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 1:

All right, you guys go

00:08:41 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 4:

I knew he'd like that one I knew he'd like the one on the four-wheeler

00:08:44 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

You go back to your show I'll talk to you guys later

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 4:

Bye guys

00:08:49 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

I love you guys He's moved on to another one here What's going on Ashley?

00:08:55 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

Yeah I was just letting you guys know He wasn't answering the phone Because he was probably sleeping Being up all night Like in the pictures That's true

00:09:06 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 1:

I know I'm trying to get him to answer his phone It takes him like three rings on the whole deal It's because he's on Instagram at that time Using a commercial break

00:09:14 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 2:

can I tell you something Ashley with radio

00:09:18 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to give you a little clue on this because these guys do morning radio like we do I can't believe how many of our people that are you know fellow radio people that during a song or a break or even while in a conversation are on their Instagram or TikTok or whatever commenting and doing you're doing a radio show trying to talk to your listeners and you're not even talking to the listeners you're just hitting up Like in Ara's case, you know, Lydia, another, you know, beautiful radio person.

00:09:51 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's the technology. The phone's always in their hand.

00:09:57 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 1:

It's the technology or... As Alabama said, is it the cleavage pictures?

00:10:03 - 00:10:04 | Unknown:

Probably both.

00:10:04 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 5:

DJ Arrow reminds me of this guy I used to DJ with who would literally shoot his shot with every girl that walked up to the DJ booth. And I said, what are you doing, man? You're going to do that at the club with all these different women in the same area? He goes, it works one time out of a thousand. And that's all I need it to work.

00:10:20 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

Well, it hasn't worked yet for Arrow with anybody.

00:10:22 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 2:

We'll see. They've taken over cities before. But this July, they're bringing the X Games League Championship home. to New Orleans, July 24th through 26th at the Superdome.
