Mojo in the morning. Do not go anywhere. Make sure that you keep listening because we have trips to give away to go to Disney, some Disney vacations, and cash. So on the way in just a little bit, stick around for that. it's Mojo, Spike, Shannon, Megan, and Mike hanging out on SNX channel and KISS. Our producer's KP. Our director is Lydia. It's good to have you guys listening to the show today. I never in a million years would have ever expected that Spike would fall for this. He just seems like the type of person that, you know, he does so much research before he goes and buys anything. This man will not buy even the smallest of things without researching it, except for when it comes to this. What was it that you ended up buying?

00:03:17 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 7:

Whenever it's food, I end up buying the latest thing, no matter what it is. Like this weekend, I bought some protein bars that, what's her name? Maria Shriver and a bunch of people make. Maria Shriver?

00:03:29 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 4:

That's like the most random. That is so random.

00:03:31 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 7:

I just read about it, and these protein bars are like total. They're supposed to be for your brain, and they have growth.

00:03:37 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 8:

Wait, is this the stuff that Kathie Lee Gifford promotes? Wait, I know you hear that on the way in, Mojo, because you and I listen to the same station on the way in. And whenever that Kathie Lee Gifford. I'm like, I love Kathie Lee Gifford. I might buy that.

00:03:51 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 7:

I'll tell you what they're called because they're stupid. They're so expensive. Mosh. Mosh. I've never heard of it. Mosh. Sounds delicious. But it was made by the top neurologists of the world, and it has all these things in there that are supposed to help. Once you hit 50, you're supposed to take care of your brain to prevent Alzheimer's.

00:04:10 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 8:

Oh, I forgot you're that old.

00:04:12 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 7:

So I'm like, well, I need this. I need all these things in here, all these brain fuel. And then I was yelling in the other room to Meg, my girlfriend, go, what's lion's mane? It says it has lion's mane. She's like, that's a mushroom. I'm like, okay, so it's supposed to be good for your brain. and it has all these different...

00:04:29 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 4:

Lion's Mane is supposed to prevent cancer, too.

00:04:32 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, there's all these things. I don't know what they all are.

00:04:36 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 4:

That's the latest thing now. Maria Shriver told you that?

00:04:39 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 7:

She told me to get it, so I'm trying it. It's got ashagawanda in it. It's got collagen and omega-3s and all the things my brain needs to be healthy. I don't know. It's probably a bunch of garbage. But I'm such a good shopper for everything else. Mojo always makes fun of me. I research everything.

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

Oh, man. This guy gets it.

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

even know consumer reports was still a thing yeah but he'll pull out digital he pulls out consumer reports and is like hold on let me tell you a little bit about this here's the consumer reports best cars to you know drive if you're uh you know rain when i was looking for a car seat when smith

00:05:14 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 1:

was born i asked the guy who didn't even have a baby at the time i'm like can you do the research

00:05:18 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 2:

for me i know you will do the most thorough job i want my friend's baby to be safe i'm doing this week i spent the whole weekend on consumer reports because i'm i'm trying to like build a little deck in the backyard, and I want to see what is best, or is it composite, or is it the PVC? And Bob Vila told them. But they don't tell you food. Bob Vila and Maria Shriver. He's still around. Bob Vila's still got a great website for home improvement. Oh, yes, he does.

00:05:45 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 3:

He, Maria Shriver, and Kathy Lee Giver, they actually belong to the same country club.

00:05:51 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 2:

So, food-wise, I bought this new cereal at the end of the week called Sweet Dreams. What is Sweet Dreams cereal, you ask? Sounds lovely. It was next to my Fruity Pebbles. I start reading the box. It's designed to help you sleep. And I was thinking about it. I'm like, God, on weekends I have such trouble falling asleep. I get so excited Saturday and Sundays I want to stay up, and then it throws off my whole schedule for the morning show. Supposedly eating a bowl of this cereal as a snack at night is supposed to help you get a good night's sleep. So I'm reading the box. Bad for your waistline though. Yeah, I didn't even think about all that. I was just thinking, like, I need help falling asleep. I'm going to eat a bowl of cereal at night. And it has, like, lavender and chamomile and blueberries and all these things are supposed to help your natural melatonin production or whatever it is. Well, after having a bowl, I was sitting there reading the box while I'm eating it, and I'm like, what a bunch of crap. Did I just fall for another gimmick? If it's food-related for some reason, I buy it immediately with no research. Everything else I'm very skeptical about. Yeah. But when it comes to seeing a new product on store shelves, and I think it's also because I'm always hungry when I'm at Kroger, I just always buy everything. I don't know why, but sleepy cereal seems very creepy to me.

00:07:03 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 1:

It sounds like you're about to get drugged real bad. Yeah, it does. Let me, let me.

00:07:09 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

Perry, eat this cereal.

00:07:12 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 2:

Well, I must have been drugged to spend $4.79 on this. It didn't even have good taste to it. It tastes like cardboard.

00:07:18 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Maybe if it had, I don't know, maybe if it had edibles in it or it had THC in the thing, maybe I would think about it.

00:07:26 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh, hell yeah.

00:07:26 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 3:

Although it'd make me eat the whole box at once.

00:07:28 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 2:

If it was called Cinnamon Toast Snooze, I would have eaten the whole thing. Exactly.

00:07:34 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 3:

That's so funny, though, that you will actually see it.

00:07:38 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

Do you guys ever fall for gimmicks? Like the product that's just stupid, but you buy it because you're just in the moment? Everything. Yeah, I know Mojo does.

00:07:45 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 3:

Skechers Shape Ubs

00:07:48 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 2:

Everything Mojo buys There ends up being A class action lawsuit Six months later But the grocery store

00:07:54 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 1:

The grocery store Is the worst place I just bought Lucky Charms Hot chocolate The other day With like the marshmallows The cereal That kind of stuff Always gets me At the grocery store End caps get me The fun stuff

00:08:06 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 3:

If it's on the end cap I'm buying it For some reason If it's on the The end cap Is right at the beginning Of the aisle It's sitting right there if it's right there and it's got a big old beautiful display or like at times of year like i'll end up buying stuff like you know super bowl time comes they always see the big frito lay like football thing with you know it's like i don't know who it is it's uh peyton manning or something like that standing there in front of a thing i'm like i gotta have peyton's nachos yeah i i you

00:08:34 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 2:

were talking last week in the studio about the cinnamon toast crunch butter spread or whatever i don't even know what it is it's like it's kind of like nutella but it's cinnamon flavored And if I see something I can't not buy it I always buy it And then I bring it home And then Meg's like Looking at me with side eyes Because she's encouraged me To like snack less I just love sweets so much Explain how she encourages you To snack less Well she just You know Reminds me Gently that You know I always complain

00:09:01 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 3:

You pat on your belly Yeah

00:09:03 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

I always complain I can't get rid of this What I call my beer belly But it's not the beer belly I only have a few I only have a few beers

00:09:12 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 3:

on the weekend it's really it's the snacking it's the sugar has she said that we should go to bars less though because if she's a little worried that you're maybe no that's the problem she likes bars

00:09:23 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 2:

too so she'll have her her beer and chelsea you know what chelsea will do to get me to snack less

00:09:27 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 3:

she'll leave out articles about how it's really bad to have all your weight in your belly like there will be she'll be like hey i put some stuff by your bag and if those articles do they stress me out i need to eat well it's funny because i don't even see the articles i think that she was reading an article and just mistakenly put it in my pile, you know, and I don't even know about it. But I will say this to you, that the worst place to fall for this stuff is at Costco or Sam's Club because it's in bulk. Yeah. So you buy it and it's in bulk and then you feel like you have to eat it or, you know, use it.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's the worst. What's up, Anne-Marie? Hello. Welcome to Back to the Mojo on the Morning Show. How are you?

00:10:05 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 7:

Hey, good morning to all of you. Good morning. I just wanted to comment that I work part-time at Kroger's as a cashier, and people will come through with tons of groceries, and I'll be looking and thinking to myself, hmm, I need to try that. Oh, I need to try that. So before you know it, I'm spending money. It's worse than working in a clothing store.

00:10:25 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 4:

That actually would be so hard for me not to get excited about people's orders. And then do they ever get annoyed if you say it out loud, like where you talk about everything that they're buying?

00:10:36 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 7:

Well, I'll ask questions sometimes, and they're like, okay, just bring it through.

00:10:40 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 4:

Right. I just want to get out of here.

00:10:41 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 7:

What aisle is it in? Yeah.

00:10:43 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, Kim? Hi, it's Mojo in the Morning.

00:10:46 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. Good morning. Well, let's talk about Shannon's moisturizers. Like, how many of those? A lot.

00:10:52 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 5:

A lot. I watch her Instagram. She must be the moistest person I know.

00:10:56 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

I wish I was.

00:10:57 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

I'm like what is she

00:10:59 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 2:

If my skin's oily there's one In the winter there's one If my legs are dry there's another one You gotta buy them all I am influenced I am too I have actually purchased things that you have posted on Instagram Really so Shannon True story I will not post about it if I don't actually use it And even yesterday I posted some that I hated

00:11:22 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 4:

Oh really? You actually said you hated it?

00:11:24 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 2:

Yep Oh, wow.

00:11:26 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 4:

Could you get sued for that? So don't waste your money. You can't get sued for that, can you?

00:11:28 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 2:

That's my opinion.

00:11:29 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's true. Yeah.

00:11:32 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 2:

Thanks, guys. Have a great day. What'd you say, Maggie?

00:11:33 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 4:

Thanks. Take care.

00:11:34 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 2:

That Real Housewives reunion.

00:11:37 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 1:

It's my opinion.

00:11:38 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 4:

That's right. Hold on. Hold on. My wife wants to say something real quick. I screwed something up about the whole lion's mane thing. She's very particular about this stuff right now. I'm going to try to see if I can get her on the phone here. Chelsea, do we have a phone ringing here? No, I don't. Chelsea, are you there? Oh, hold on a second. Hold on. I think my thing didn't plug in. Are you there, Chelsea?

00:12:04 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh.

00:12:05 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 4:

Hi. Sorry about that. I made a wrong comment about lion's mane. Is that right?

00:12:13 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 1:

Lion's mane is for your brain. Turkey tail is the one that I did research on for cancer.

00:12:22 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 4:

For cancer. Okay. So she makes me take this stuff in the morning Turkey tail It's a mushroom Turkey tail and lion's mane

00:12:31 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 5:

Megan don't you have a guy We can get mushrooms from

00:12:35 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 4:

They're not that kind of mushrooms

00:12:37 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 5:

Because I thought these things were going to be fun

00:12:39 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 4:

I'm like oh if they're a mushroom I'll take it Wait a second

00:12:44 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 2:

So this turkey tail They've been using this for cancer treatment In Japan for decades upon decades This is no joke

00:12:52 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 1:

No, and it's been recognized by the American Cancer Society.

00:12:57 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 4:

Wow, okay. All right, well, listen. Listen, Maria Shriver. I'm going to check it out. Chelsea, you have trouble sleeping. Spike should turn on this cereal to you. He's got sleeping cereal.

00:13:10 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 1:

I need, yeah, I need major help with sleeping.

00:13:14 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 5:

Well, the funny part is I'm thinking we're probably sleepy because we just ate a giant bowl of cereal and our stomach's full. It probably has nothing to do with what's in it.

00:13:21 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 7:

None of y'all have taken an edible and had half a beer and then just go, all right.

00:13:26 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 5:

I'm trying to do it the natural way.

00:13:29 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 4:

There's just something about roofy pebbles that just creep me out. I don't know. The edibles worked for you, Chelsea, for a while, and then what happened? You just kind of got used to it?

00:13:38 - 00:13:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I built up a big tolerance, and then I was taking way too much, and I didn't like that. Yeah.

00:13:43 - 00:13:44 | Speaker 4:

Then you're in bed all day.

00:13:44 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 1:

So now I just don't sleep. Yeah, now I don't sleep at all. Well, I was high all day. Yeah, it was horrible.

00:13:49 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, that's why I was always afraid. Somebody gave me some for 4.20 last year, and I just threw them away because they finally expired. I never took them because I thought, oh, maybe if I have a day where I need to get sleep. But I'm always afraid. How do I know my dose that I'm not going to be high the whole next day?

00:14:04 - 00:14:06 | Speaker 7:

What's wrong with that?

00:14:06 - 00:14:07 | Unknown:

What's wrong with that?

00:14:08 - 00:14:11 | Speaker 4:

Those were good edibles, too. You don't ever throw away anything.

00:14:11 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 5:

Although if you saw what I bring home to snack on, you would think I was high every day.

00:14:14 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 4:
