Download the Moto Casino app today. so spike how was christmas for you i know you talked earlier this morning about how you guys went to philadelphia and we talked before the break about you and your girlfriend and would your parents be okay with you guys you know staying together and all the rest of that stuff and then you brought up even before the break that there was the last time that you guys were there in philadelphia that your sister was not so into your new relationship yeah so when uh

00:02:24 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 2:

the holidays come it's always tough because half of my family most of my family lives out of town so we kind of kind of shuffle around in fear how to see everybody not hurt anybody's feelings uh but we had a great christmas here in michigan in my own house with meg and her son and her mom And then I flew in the blizzard to Philly Christmas morning to meet up with my girls at my sister's house. And my poor parents both got COVID and we're staying there, so we didn't get to do as much as we planned with them. It's still a nice visit. But the big development was that Megan felt totally welcomed and accepted into the family. And there was one specific moment I'll talk about, because when we were there in the summertime, you know, we had already been together a year, but it was all still brand new to my family because they had like my sister had only met my girlfriend once. and of course she was very close uh to my ex and so she was a little cold shouldered she was a little um let's say uh she was unwelcoming the first time the first really last christmas what did she do i brought uh meg home last christmas to for the first time and it was she kind of sat in the other room she didn't mingle much and she didn't come in and welcome meg into her own house

00:03:44 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 4:

and um is she normally really friendly like is she normally the the yeah yeah and her husband

00:03:50 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

was very friendly and welcoming and i think it was just a weird situation my sister hasn't been around a lot of divorce um she was you know very close to my ex and she might not have you know been like my sister injects herself into a lot of the relationships and she's been like that with my brother and his divorce too and i think it just takes her a longer time to accept or digest what's going on yeah and and because she's not here every day so she hasn't met everybody and seen everybody involved and understood that everybody's cool and happy and moving along and And and she doesn't understand that it's not up to her like we're going to be in a relation. I'm going to be happy no matter what. So it doesn't matter whether or not you accept it. But I'll tell you, it was a 180 degree change this Christmas. And I think time has shown her that obviously Meg and I are serious, that everybody has moved on. Everybody's happy. And my ex was over her house Christmas, spending some time with my family, too. So she could see, I think, that everybody was happy and everybody's moving forward. She was so welcoming that she gave my mother a gift of a blanket for Christmas with all the family photos on the blanket. of all the children and the grandchildren printed on the blanket. And there in the center of the blanket was a big picture of me and Meg, my girlfriend. No way. Yeah. And my sister made it. So she decided she was going to put that picture in there. And it was it meant so much to Meg, my girlfriend.

00:05:21 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 3:

She was like a good picture.

00:05:23 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

It was a good picture. Yeah. Good question. Good question. Well, she took it from my Instagram. Obviously, I'm not going to post a bad picture on there.

00:05:30 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 3:

No, could you imagine, though, that she's like.

00:05:34 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 2:

Well, here's the big thing, though. I thought, okay, it's one thing to put us on the blanket. I thought we'd be up on the corner so that if she decided later she wanted to cut my girlfriend out of the blanket, she can fray the edge of the blanket or something. We were smack dab in the center. There's no escaping that.

00:05:49 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

Do you think that she did that purposely, putting you in the center to show you that now she's good with everything? Maybe. I don't know. Or did it just fit in that spot?

00:05:59 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 2:

No, it's funny because she texted me and was asking me like a month or two ago, like, well, is this serious? Well, I know you say serious, but I know, you know, but there's been other people have been dating for a year and a half that, and then they break up. I'm like, well, told my sister.

00:06:16 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 1:

She wanted to be sure her gift was going to stay in the test of time. Right.

00:06:18 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 2:

That's exactly what it was. And I'm like, listen, breakups happen all the time. It doesn't matter if you've been together a month or 20 years. you never know what's going to happen you have to live for the moment and understand i'm in love with this person right now and i i see it going in the future we moved in together a few months ago because we really believe in each other and so that's up to you you can do whatever you want with your gift but i'm telling you that i believe that we're forever and we we talk that way were

00:06:45 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 3:

the kids like close to your picture too in the center like how did you make the blanket a couple

00:06:50 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 2:

more times well then she did a photo of the girls that was separate of my two girls together and

00:06:55 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 1:

that was in a different spot so this was her gift only to your parents yes oh i was gonna say maybe you paid a little bit more for no no and that's why you got the prime real estate no she didn't even ask me to give them a gift this year so to me that's a huge deal hey hey quick question for

00:07:10 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

you on the the family uh you know staying at the house and stuff you also told us that your mom and dad still have pictures of your brother who's divorced with his ex-wife their marriage their wedding photo and then had pictures of you and your ex-wife in your wedding photos with your brother who's still married with his wife did they take down the other two wedding photos after you

00:07:36 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 2:

talked about that no no so my mom still has all the wedding photos up including me and my brother who was divorced like I don't know 19 20 years ago so uh my I can't figure out I've never dressed with my parents because I don't want to make my mom feel awkward about it and I can't decide in my head if it's because of how beautifully they're arranged in a little diamond square formation that I think she doesn't want to mess it up and remove any yeah because she's so proud of how she put this whole wedding wall it's a wedding wall because it's a wedding wall it's like my parents in the center and then the four children's wedding photos are rounded in a diamond. And I think she might be afraid to mess up that wall or I didn't know if it was because my parents are so traditional Irish Catholic and don't believe in divorce that they just don't want to take them down. And I know they'd still love the ex-wives in this situation too. And they're still friends. So to them I think maybe they just feel like it would be... And they have their grandkids. Yeah, so maybe my mom thinks it'll be disrespectful to take them down, but I pointed to it when we were there six months ago. I showed Meg and I said, listen, this is never going to go down. I said, it doesn't matter how long we're together. Those photos, there's like, the walls are stained around those photos. They are never getting moved.

00:08:52 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 3:

You and Meg, your girlfriend, need to just get married to make the wedding wall.

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

He's still trying, man.

00:08:59 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 3:

You need to do that because I think I still have a little bit of time because I said within a year. I don't know. You said until the end of the year, yeah. I did say it. I'll go listen back to it.

00:09:07 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 2:

I put it in my calendar. I was going to make you pay the bet, but, you know.

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

I'll pay it. I'll pay it when I get back in the town.

00:09:12 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

Buy me Starbucks.

00:09:13 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 3:

Johnny, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:09:16 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was just going to say, quit playing, man. Just marry this girl. What's the rush? Because you guys are in love. You guys look good together, too, man. Yeah, okay.

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 2:

So we will. I hope to someday.

00:09:27 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 3:

Wait a second. You said on our show, Mike, remember this? Same argument again. You said on our show that you were never getting married ever again, That you guys didn't want to get married

00:09:38 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

But then remember he changed his mind

00:09:40 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 2:

I said I had no plans On getting her a ring You were asking me when we were together Like five months

00:09:46 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 3:

I think Mike's got the audio Go ahead and play it Thanks Johnny

00:09:52 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to put the video up We have no rush We're in no rush First of all I would like

00:10:00 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 1:

like to see my daughter get married first she's you know my daughter's been uh dating her boyfriend is that a possibility i think it is oh i know it's a possibility we've talked about them getting married and stuff in in the future so they've been together six years so i know but my daughter wants to do things in the right order of graduating college this may and then moving home finding a job her you know her boyfriend's fine got a good job but he's searching for an even better job so they're doing things the right way they're like let's get our lives together and get settled and then we'll do that but uh i saw my daughter's vision board and she did have a little ring on there so that for 2023 so i said what's this you guys you want to get a manicure in 2023 she's holding up you know there's a hand picture with a ring but i know that'll happen and i want to give her the you know you do not want to show up uh that exactly that would not be a good idea

00:10:54 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

Erica, what's up?

00:10:56 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 4:

I just wanted to say that, like, in regards to the wedding pictures, my parents separated when I was two. So I don't really remember any, like, memories of them together. But I always, like, really liked looking at their wedding pictures. It was really nice, like, as the kids. So I feel like for his daughters, it's still nice for her to see them, to see their parents, you know, being happy at one point. It's a reminder that, like, even though they may not be together now, they had been in love at one point. And it's, like, nice as a kid to see those things.

00:11:25 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 1:

And it doesn't bother me, which is why I didn't want to bring it up to my mom. Because, you know, it doesn't, I don't want her to think it bothers me. And I don't think it bothers Meg, to be honest with you. I mean, she sees all the photos up of all the children and grandchildren and everything. There's a whole order to how my mom puts everything on the curio cabinet over the TV.

00:11:43 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 3:

My mom still has my wedding album on the coffee table.

00:11:47 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 1:

Oh, really? The whole album.

00:11:49 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 3:

And Wes was over for Christmas Eve. It cost a lot of money, those albums. Yeah, and he's like, it is kind of weird, but I get it. Because the same thing, the kids love looking through it. Yeah. You know, to see the pictures.

00:11:58 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

My mom was so gracious. I mean, like Meg just had the best time this holiday, and she kept talking about, like, your family is just the best. And, like, they were so kind and welcoming, and the gifts they gave her for Christmas, and sentimental things and personal things. And then my mom called her son on her birthday to say happy birthday, and it was just really sweet. My family really welcomed her with open arms. And I think it just showed that, you know, we we progress at a different level because we're you guys like see me with Meg every day for the last year and a half we've been dating. But my parents and my family at home have only met her a few brief times. So it's obviously going to take them a little longer to warm up.

00:12:39 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 2:

Do you do you? Oh, God, what was the question? I was going to ask a question and then you went on that diatribe there. do uh do you cross uh uh like you said your daughters were in in there a lot of people wonder why your daughters are there so your ex is from philadelphia yeah yeah so you guys all you guys all spend the holidays uh visiting family members so we had a tradition for many years

00:13:04 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 1:

which we still continue today of we go over to my ex's family for the first half and uh of the vacation christmas eve and then christmas day we would transfer over to my family so the girls still do that and so uh they flew home with their mom and they spent a few days with that side of the family and then christmas morning uh my ex brought the girls over to my family's and she spent time with us too and then the next couple days was just my girls and me getting to get some really good quality time uh with my daughter being away at college i don't get to spend a lot of time with both of them at the same time so it was amazing and then also with my parents and my family and then meg flew in she actually missed i actually dropped my girls off at the airport and then picked up meg uh just because of her custody with her son that we didn't we didn't get to spend that time together but um it'll be tricky for the next juggle isn't it yeah it'll really be tricky the next few years because her son is a perfect age to want to have christmas at home and then my girls you know have a certain amount of time of college break to be able to see everybody and shuffle around so it's different because we also want to get to philly to see our The grandparents are aging, so we want to spend as much time with them at the holidays. So we'll call it year by year and figure out what we're doing.

00:14:18 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 2:

You didn't get affected at all by that Southwest Airlines?

00:14:21 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 1:

No, luckily I love Delta. They're so good. It's unbelievable, isn't it? They are the best.

00:14:26 - 00:14:41 | Speaker 2:

Something tells me that Southwest Airlines thing, for those that didn't see that, people have still not even gotten their bags back. But they had to cancel all these flights. Something tells me that there's more to this story. I know that they tried to blame weather, which I think is BS because other airlines were able to do it.

00:14:41 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 1:

That's the second time it happened to Southwest.

00:14:43 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 2:

And then they blame their system that they have, which their system was bought by the government just recently. I think they got hacked. I think the Russian government or something hacked into them.

00:14:52 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

No, well, see, the way the weather affects Southwest and it doesn't affect the other airlines, you have like Delta, for instance, has the hub and spoke. They travel.

00:15:00 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 2:

they have big hubs like detroit atlanta minneapolis so if a plane if a weather gets shut down for the because of weather it doesn't matter they just have other crews and other planes in the big hubs so they can get to the other cities it doesn't shut down their airlines it's the way southwest does it to be cheaper they fly to six cities in one day with this they do a big loop across the country with one airplane so if they get stuck in one big city terrorist i don't know

00:15:26 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 6:

No story is legitimate anymore these days for me.

00:15:29 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 2:

But if they have one bad city with weather, it messes up six cities. And then, unfortunately, we all tried to get a deal, so we booked Southwest. Well, then you don't have another plane to get you out of that city.

00:15:39 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 1:

I also read somewhere that Southwest is the only airline that has the same plane. Like, they only have one plane. And so any pilot can fly. So they should have been able to fix this wave sooner.

00:15:51 - 00:16:04 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. I don't know. I'll be honest. I'll be honest with you. Anytime any story comes on, I always sit there and have to go, okay. What's the real story? What's the real story here? All right.
