Let me tell you I feel like it is my right As an American citizen Hold on let me say this seriously It is my right as an American citizen to call dibs on baby names Even though I have zero interest in currently having children I know I know I know But, like, I am dead set on the names I would like for my imaginary future children. Like, dead freaking set. And it is my right to pass on these generational family names. I am curious, though, on your thoughts on this. My grandfather had an amazing name. Now, somebody took his middle name and made it the name of her daughter. And somebody else took his first name and made it the middle name of their son.

Okay, so. And who are these people that are related to him?

These are all my cousins.

We were all very close to my grandfather. He's the best human being on the planet. I mean, I'm Irish, so he was our pop, but our pop was the best guy in the entire world. And I really, really, really, I don't think this is going to be shocking to everybody, have a weird obsession with Harry Styles. My grandfather's name was Harold. Let me tell you. Oh, this is perfect. Win-win for me. I love the name Harry. And my cousin, who I hope she's listening right now, I'm going to call her out. Her name is Tiffany. They named their child with the middle name Harold. They have started calling him by his middle name the majority of the time, which, again, is Harold. And I think that is off limits. You chose that as a middle name, and that is my imaginary child's future name. And I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you think it's okay to call him by his middle name even though he's alive and well in a living game.

Why are they not calling him by his first name?

They do. He responds to both. He genuinely responds. If you're like in a crowded room and you call out this kid's first name or his middle name, he'll turn around and respond. I do that with Smith. Yeah. Yeah. So like he responds to both. And I think that's absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. But OK, so but she she has a child already exists. Yes. Correct. A living human.

When he was little, I always had to middle name him. I always had to say, like, Ashton Harold, Ashton Harold. And so it got so annoying, so we just dropped the Ashton part and would just be like, Harold.

Did you ever hear the story about Lucy? So Lucy was a name that I wanted forever and ever and ever. And I loved I Love Lucy and Lucille Ball. And everybody in my family knew that. My half-sister Bridget, and I love her, but got this cute little white dog and named it Lucy. Oh, that's even worse. And I was like, guess what? Not a dog. If I ever have a daughter, I'm still naming her Lucy. Oh, the dog. And I did. So now we have dog Lucy and girl Lucy in our family.

Well, my cousin stopped talking to me because when my daughter was born, I gave her the same name of the child she was going to name her child if she had one. So I haven't talked to her in well over 25 years. Oh, my God. At our grandmother's funeral, she refused to come to the grandmother's funeral. Our grandmother's funeral, I showed up.

All because of the name. Man, names are serious.

And to be honest, I don't remember her wanting this name. I was just reading a romance novel.

Remember back in the day, that used to be the thing. People would name them after romance novels or soap opera stars. What's up, initial A? Your voice disguised.

Yes. So my brother just found out that they are expecting, and he texted me and asked if he could steal my boy name. But when I was pregnant with my daughter, they already had a boy name picked out. So why are you trying to steal mine? Use yours.
