All right, it is Mojo in the Morning Show. Do not, whatever you do after the big announcement yesterday, do not ask Spike one particular thing because he's getting annoyed by this. I know I have already asked him this. I did it for you so that you don't have to ask him this, but what was everybody talking about yesterday?

00:02:21 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 7:

You ask me about every three months. stop asking when's your proposal when are you getting married and it all started up again yesterday obviously because we shared the exciting news for Shannon but it's actually becoming a little annoying now like how many people texted me yesterday and stop or stop me in the halls here at work and like you're next and after we broke Shannon's news I got texts all day and DMs like you better put a ring on it now or wink wink I hope you know The clock's ticking, and it's just a line of question that we should probably remove from polite society.

00:02:57 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 6:

Is it making you feel pressure?

00:02:58 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 7:

Not pressure. It's just irritating. Because for me, it's almost as if people don't believe that my girlfriend, Meg, and I can be in love because we're not engaged. I just want to remind people that everyone's on their own timeline. Some people get married after six months, others after 60 years, or never at all. So like new listeners, I've been divorced for two years. I met my girlfriend when I wasn't even looking for a relationship. We started dating like a year and a half ago. And it's been going so well that we moved in together six months ago. And we're sharing the bills because we both lived in separate places with a big commute in between. So it's been the greatest decision I ever made. I am so happy. I've never been so happy and content with my life. But then people come up to you. I got a message yesterday saying, I hope you can find your true happiness now and you get engaged. and like it's it's like people measure your happiness well you can't be happy yet you're not married you know and for me i'm like let's i am so excited to celebrate wes and shannon let's celebrate them put the focus on you put the focus on them the focus isn't on me but you're

00:04:03 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 1:

right you're so happy you might you guys might never get married and that's okay like we've

00:04:06 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 7:

it doesn't mean you don't love each other any less yeah we've we've built it like we build a great life for each other and our kids we don't feel like anything's missing we've talked about our future and our beliefs align and nobody else has to worry about you'll find out when there's

00:04:19 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 6:

something to talk about did by at all though did you go home and did meg your girlfriend say oh look at that ring like what did she make a reference that made it seem like she was envious

00:04:31 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 7:

of that no what shannon has no so it never that never came up she heard she heard it uh shannon do the announcement live on the air and she texted me oh my gosh so exciting this is so exciting And also please don't ever do that big thing for me Like what she likes Is not what every woman Would like in a big Big proposal Let's read into that Don't read into it

00:04:54 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 6:

Reese let's all read into it What does that mean

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

She's more laid back

00:05:00 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 1:

She doesn't want the big planned proposal. It means she didn't say she didn't want to get married. It means just don't give her that. So this is the annoying part. I'm rolling my eyes if you can't hear it on the radio right now. But the reason I want to bring it up is because you have no way of knowing. Like, for me, it's just an eye roll. It's just irritating because I had, like, 30 messages last night. But for other people, you might actually be causing some discomfort because you don't know what's going on. The baby thing is a big one. The baby thing is an even bigger thing. Like, when are you going to have another kid?

00:05:27 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 4:

I was going to say, I can't agree with you more because this is something I face all the time is she's unhappy because she's single. She's unhappy because she's never going to get married. She's unhappy because she doesn't have kids. The fact that the majority of people have made it very clear that they only find happiness in marriage and kids is overwhelming.

00:05:46 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 1:

And for single women, they get it way worse than I do. And we've both been married. Meg and I both had previous marriages. and so for us it's a different timetable of what we feel we need in our lives but it's driving people crazy they're like oh my gosh you haven't you've lived together now you should be married

00:06:04 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 2:

no that's an older generation belief i bet another one that comes the way because it has come my way so many times um where people will ask me and they might ask you guys this too unless they're afraid to people ask me all the time why you guys got divorced why shannon got divorced why you got divorced what happened who did what what's going on you know why did they do this thing so did you guys ever get asked that question or did you ever get the time all the time actually people were

00:06:30 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

bold enough to ask you that question like why you got divorced yeah still asking still asking yeah so wildly inappropriate right or and and after i got divorced and i mean i've been divorced for god going on four years i got divorced in 2019 yeah going on four years why aren't you dating When are you going to date? Date, date, date, date, date, date. And it's just, I understand the curiosity. But here's the thing, though.

00:06:55 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 2:

You cannot be hypocrites, though, because we, as a show, always will ask that about celebrities. We'll ask why they got divorced. We'll sit there and speculate. We'll want to know when they're going to get married. When are they going to have a kid? Do this stuff. And so I say to you guys, listen, I'm not comparing ourselves to, you know, freaking Margot Robbie or any, you know, celebrities. But I'm saying that you can't be hypocritical In the fact that we go on the air And we're always going like this

00:07:22 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 1:

But if they're putting it out there If Kim Kardashian is making a big thing About dating Pete Davidson And bringing her around the work shows That's the curiosity

00:07:30 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 2:

We talk about our lives all the time

00:07:32 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 1:

Right, and I shared with listeners That I got divorced And I shared a limited amount of information Because there's children that are not on the radio That I have no interest in

00:07:41 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 2:

So Kim Kardashian has children too

00:07:43 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

And she drags them and does podcasts with them And puts them on her social media and TikTok

00:07:47 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 2:

What I'm saying is, it can annoy you, but you also have to be able to be sympathetic and empathetic to the celebrities, too, that are going through that.

00:07:55 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

I'm not sitting here saying I'm a celebrity. I'm talking on behalf of all people, all women and all people that have to get this question on a daily basis. Because now, you know, Shannon, like, if she was just a non-radio woman, if she was just in accounting, as soon as she gets married, then they start asking, what's the big date? And then as soon as you get married, then it's when you're having children. And then as soon as you have one children, it doesn't stop. When are you having, they need a little brother or sister to play with. And people don't understand what's going on in personal lives, that you may be harming someone by asking those questions. People are on their own timetable. Leave them alone. It diminishes everything else. Like, if you're asking my girlfriend, when are you getting married? When are you getting married? It almost sounds like you don't care about her professional achievements or her personal goals or her family relationships. You only care. You're measuring her success based on whether she has a man that gave her a ring. What do you think, Annie?

00:08:46 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

hello what's going on oh hi good morning um so i was just commenting that uh you know i've been with my significant other now for 10 years and we are not married as a second relationship for both of us or well second you know big relationship because we were both married in the past um we both got together as we were going through our divorces so like we're not looking for it We've been together 10 years this month. We have three kids in addition to the other kids that we had with our first marriages. So we have seven kids total. And we are very happy. Like, we've talked about getting married, and we might get married, like, maybe in the next couple years. And, you know, our families have asked us and everything else. But, like, I wear a ring. He wears a ring. We're the happiest we've ever been.

00:09:37 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 2:

So don't ask. Don't ask.

00:09:39 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 3:

So, yeah, I mean.

00:09:40 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 2:

So how about if I ask, instead of that, so what's the next step? Is that bad to ask?

00:09:45 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

No, just revel in. Be happy for us right now. How about if I ask you what you're going to have for lunch today? This is the step.

00:09:51 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 2:

What are you going to have for lunch today?

00:09:52 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

That's fine. I'm just going to start answering, in two weeks we're getting married. We just didn't tell you because we didn't want to invite you. Mo? Let them feel uncomfortable.

00:09:59 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 2:

What do you think, Mo? um okay i said i wasn't talking about the two weeks thing but after people have been listening to you guys for like 10 plus years at least we we get invested just like you guys have provided for the community of detroit that you know we care about you guys so like it's i don't always think it's like the i mean i guess most people are gossipy but like it's just wanting to know

00:10:22 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 4:

like are you okay are things good but you hear us telling our stories every day on the air and what

00:10:28 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 5:

it doesn't just happen to people who aren't married on the show if anything if my wife isn't standing next to me in a certain picture if one kid's not in a picture the whole time yeah that's

00:10:37 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 4:

true let me reverse it but yesterday people commented on our facebook to shannon too soon on her engagement so it's like who asked your opinion you always you're right we always have

00:10:49 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

those one-off people and i also want to tell megan being in your 40s and single also you're gay you You must be gay if you're not.

00:10:58 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 6:

Is that what people say to you all the time?

00:11:01 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 2:

I'm getting a roommate right now who is a female, happens to be a female. We're both big dog people, and we want to set out Christmas cards. And I feel like my whole entire family is going to be like, we knew it. Yep.

00:11:13 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 4:

Because what you're saying is this is what I think you should do. You're not saying, are you happy? How's life? How are the kids? You're saying here's what you need to be doing right now to be happy.

00:11:23 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 6:

Bentley, what's up?

00:11:24 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 3:

hey mojo i love you guys in this conversation that last caller is perfect you know what you guys we're so invested in your lives listening to you guys um i'm a long-time listener and i i called in as a matter of fact i was one of the gals who won the um uh morning guessing game you guys sent me the toledo zoo it was fantastic yeah and anyway back in the day or something yeah Yeah, back in the day. It was just a few months ago. But, Spike, I don't think it's intrusive. I think it's people just, it's conversation. They just want to start a conversation out with you. They know you. Everyone thinks they know you, but we really don't. And your personal life is what it is, but we're invested in what you guys are doing. Like, the joy you bring in the morning, it's just fantastic. Yeah, and listen, I just don't think it's like they're being nosy or gossipy. I think it's just a start-off conversation. It's natural. Like, oh, you're going to have kids. Oh, when are you getting married? Oh, hey, what's going on? I mean, I don't know.

00:12:30 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 6:

I think what you're saying is I don't think everybody means it to be rude. I think that they do it because they are. No, and I understand that.

00:12:38 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

And I'm bringing it up because I don't think everybody, I don't think most people mean to be rude, but I don't think they understand what they're saying might be rude or off-putting to people. Like I'm not even worried about I understand people want to know about my life I'm saying on behalf of all people That some people don't want to get married ever Some people want to get married But they don't want a big wedding ceremony

00:12:59 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 3:

And hey you know what say that We're not interested in getting married right now We're happy where we are And thanks for you know being concerned

00:13:07 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 4:

And I'll say that if someone talks to me And asks me that question I'll let them know hey we're on our own timetable Right now Megan I don't feel like anything's missing We're in no rush but i'm saying on behalf of all these other people don't realize when they say to other people that they might be making making people feel pressure or making feel like they're not doing something right in life when it just means their way of loving and living is on a different timetable

00:13:31 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 1:

it doesn't also when we say say what's going on sometimes i do feel like it's kind of a lose-lose like if i say i want something then i some people will say i'm complaining some people will agree with me and vice versa it just feels like nobody's ever happy well i we've had the same lives out there so openly and then no matter what we do gets knocked down by somebody it does get a little bit

00:13:56 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 4:

like okay i'm trying over here or it's exhausting when then you're telling you no you're wrong no you're not gonna do it you're gonna get mad and we've had the conversation three times where i've been told i'm gonna get engaged this year and i'm gonna get married and they'll be next we've had bets on the show like three different times and like nobody wants to believe me when i say we're

00:14:15 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 6:

cool we're happy well i think it's we're just living because on the show we do things to prod everybody that we know bothers them to rile them up that's the that's been the nature of what we do on the show the goal we're like brothers and sisters poking fun at each other i mean truly the

00:14:30 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 1:

only reason i got engaged is so you guys just move on to somebody else between us who knows

00:14:36 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 6:

each other's boundaries and strangers right yeah right yeah and to finish shannon's thought on that one and wes is rich that's why she got engaged to him she did not want to make him go away the guy is did you guys know that he people did not know this that man has he's from an empire like a family empire he's listening now going on yeah what's up what's up ricky

00:14:58 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Hey, how's it going?

00:15:00 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 7:

Mojo. Good. What's going on?

00:15:02 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 8:

I just wanted to comment on the subject. You know, I've been listening to you guys over 10 years, and you know, we look at Kim Kardashian, everybody else getting divorced. We want to be nosy. But, you know, you guys like family. You know, I was crushed when Shannon got divorced. I went home to tell my wife about it. You know, she was like, what? Yeah. So it's like, you know, we're concerned. Even with Spike, you know, I was crushed when he got divorced. You know, he got kids. You know, but at the same time, I don't think we're being nosy. It's just like one big family.

00:15:34 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:15:34 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 8:

I understand that.

00:15:35 - 00:16:09 | Speaker 3:

I understand that. And even with the celebrities, with everybody, you are invested. And naturally, we're human beings. We're nosy. We're curious. And I think that – and I've said this before in the past. I mean, you know, people are allowed to share what they want to share. And people are allowed to not share what they want to keep private. And only, you know, that's privileged information that's further close in our circle. That's fine. We can speculate all we want on what happened with Kim and Kanye. or what happened, you know, with members of this show. And if we choose to share, we share. If they choose to share, they do. And you know, naturally speculation, whatever it's going to happen. They are reporting on you

00:16:09 - 00:16:11 | Speaker 7:

right now and Blaine's

00:16:11 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 3:

dirty right now. That's good. But I do understand that. It's just, it doesn't mean that because people are curious, you even have to give an answer. You have to share whatever. You don't have to feel compelled.

00:16:24 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 6:

Just come to me. I'll overshare everything.

00:16:26 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 7:

Mike and I were talking yesterday. Mike, you were mentioning to me yesterday about how it's been like such a thrill that you actually have gone out with your family and people will like come up to the table and are huge fans of the show yeah i had at the restaurant

00:16:40 - 00:17:03 | Speaker 6:

the other day my son had a meltdown and in the middle of the restaurant i thought they were staring at me because i was being like my son was having a meltdown i felt so bad and it turns out they listened to the show and they sent over a dessert oh my god that is so nice they're just They're just nice, but I understand what you guys are saying, too, and I'm open to answering any questions or whatever, but there probably is a line somewhere.

00:17:03 - 00:17:27 | Speaker 5:

Well, I share, I mean, that's the reason I shared my divorce to begin with on the air, because people could, listeners could notice something was different in how I talked about my family and stuff, and I think, you know, I understand the curiosity. My comment is more about the people that were They make a judgment Like the messages I got I hope you can find your true happiness now Or the clock is ticking I'm like it's not actually We're totally content

00:17:27 - 00:17:30 | Speaker 7:

Ricky I gotta move on eventually

00:17:30 - 00:17:32 | Speaker 8:

Go ahead

00:17:32 - 00:17:34 | Speaker 7:

Say your last comment

00:17:34 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 8:

I want to say to Shannon and Spike I pray Shannon that your marriage Be this successful than the first marriage I don't know what happened to the first marriage marriage is not my business, but I was so happy that you got engaged. It's like you have a good guy, and I pray that you guys live happy. You're going to have problems here and there. Yeah, thanks, Ricky.

00:17:54 - 00:17:55 | Speaker 3:

I appreciate that.

00:17:55 - 00:17:58 | Speaker 8:

You know, and Spike, you're okay. You'll be all right. So keep going.

00:17:59 - 00:18:00 | Speaker 2:

You're good.

00:18:00 - 00:18:16 | Speaker 7:

Listen, all I care is that Spike keeps getting fed by his girlfriend, Meg, because it seems to me that she is feeding you amazingly. Oh, my God. She's an amazing girl. Well, that's a good thing. Ricky, do you follow Spike on Radio Spike on his Instagram?

00:18:17 - 00:18:18 | Speaker 8:

Well, I'm not on Instagram.

00:18:18 - 00:18:19 | Speaker 7:

You've got to go follow him.

00:18:20 - 00:18:37 | Speaker 5:

I feel like Meg cooks the most amazing meals every night of the week. She is the most amazing cook. I mean, last night she started saying, tomorrow I'm going to make this, this, this, and that, and this, and that. I'm like, you know, it's just the two of us. You don't have to cook. We can get takeout. She loves to cook. She can't wait to get home like she's excited about. You know what she's missing in that kitchen?

00:18:38 - 00:18:44 | Speaker 7:

You know what she does not have in that kitchen that she needs? What? A ring on her finger. That's what she needs.

00:18:45 - 00:18:59 | Speaker 5:

Well, you said, you commented to me last night. Mojo's like, oh, my God, we need to get you a second TV. You're watching Pokemon. Like, I was telling him how I'm watching Pokemon. I said, you don't understand. I'm keeping the six-year-old quiet because she is cooking the most amazing meal in there.

00:18:59 - 00:19:14 | Speaker 7:

Over the weekend, you shared on your story that you were having to watch some cartoon, some little kids cartoon. And then last night in our prep, you put that you had to watch some, you said, a horrible Pokemon movie. I don't have to, but I'm going to get you a TV so that you can watch something on your own.

00:19:14 - 00:19:25 | Speaker 5:

No, I was like, if it means I get this amazing chef prepared meal, I'm going to keep that little kid occupied. So keep him out of the kitchen. And keep him out of the, keep her from hearing mom, mommy, mommy, mommy.
