All right. It's Mojo on the morning show. So I would like to say this. Please keep a young lady who I do not know who she is in your prayers. But I saw this news story over the weekend and it really hit home for me because you heard me talk last week about how Luke was going to be away for spring break. He went to Punta Cana, and then a story broke about a girl that was missing in Punta Cana, and I saw this story on the news last night, and it just literally, if this story came out while he was still there, before he came home, I would have flown to Dominican Republic, and I would have brought his ass home. and anybody that's traveling for any kind of spring breaks, like these high school kids that are going on spring breaks, seriously, if you guys don't go together in packs and if you leave anybody or if you try to, they said that maybe she tried to go swimming like in the middle of the night, don't do that stuff. That's like the worst water that you can possibly be swimming in. Stay in a swimming pool and don't go into the ocean. But I'll play you something from that coming up here in a second, but I want to talk real quick. So Luke got finally back. His last day was insanity, though. And it was one of those situations where I felt like, oh, crap, he's going to get stuck in another country. Which, by the way, if that has ever happened to anybody, has anybody ever been out of the country and they, like, lost their passport and couldn't get back into the States? What happens? I've always wondered that. And thank God I didn't have to worry about that with Luke. But get ready for this. On Friday, Chelsea calls me up in a panic because Luke lost his wallet and broke his phone. And so he was away on spring break with a bunch of Michigan State kids. They were in the Dominican Republic in Punta Cana. And he had literally no phone to communicate with us on. He had to call from some friend's phone. And here's the interesting thing. He only knew his mom's number. he didn't he doesn't have my number memorized which thank god he knew his mom's number i was

gonna say like that's i feel like that's everybody right now you don't memorize numbers anymore i mean

you know everything's right in your phone yeah and think about when your phone in his phone he didn't do anything to it because i saw his phone afterwards i'm like i'm examining it going did you drop it in water or did you just like the phone was it was on the apple screen he and i spent gosh more than an hour and a half on the phone with apple care trying to figure out how to reboot his phone he didn't bring a computer with him so there was no way to reboot your phone so he had to go and find another kid there that had a computer with him uh so he could plug it in because you have to plug it into just any computer to be able to do it then when we tried to do it it didn't work and you know nowadays you don't get on airplanes with paper tickets anymore you get on airplanes with digital tickets so he had to figure out how to get through and do that so it was just a mess and it was insane um he supposedly got married to some girl there i don't know i don't know he sent his mom a text and said to his mom he goes i think i'm getting married tonight and she's like do not sign any paperwork he said girl that he met from his school or i have no idea i don't know i guess you know i but he you know knowing luke it'd probably be just some random girl in a lobby he said he wanted to get married before joe did just to piss joe off that's how you do it so that was so it was honestly crazy and talk about a sobering moment because

it was his last night there so his last night there he couldn't do anything which thank god for that that he was smart enough to realize it but what do you do if you can't get back into the country like how do you get back into the country without all your appropriates you know uh marcia

you there yes i'm here hey what's going on hey so i was just calling um to answer that question about the passport if you lose it and you're coming in to the country um all they do is uh They send you to secondary inspection, and they find your information, and you're all set.

Really? So it's not a weird situation where they all of a sudden say, you're no longer a citizen. You can't come here.

No, no way. They can't do that. That's unconstitutional.

Well, how crazy is it, though, in that situation? So your daughter did this?

I left my baby's birth certificate here in Michigan. and when I was coming back, I didn't, I forgot that I had it. I told the officer and he was like, okay, well, they're going to send you to a secondary inspection. Went in there, they put us inside the little offices and they just checked their information. That was it.

Wow, man. Yeah, that would honestly freak me out. I'm one of those when we've traveled and we've gone, you know, to Mexico a bunch of times. Actually, my brother lives in Puerto Vallarta, so we've gone to visit our kid's uncle, and I'm like holding the passports. Nobody else is allowed to hold the passports because I'm worried about what's going on. Here's that story about that missing Pitt student. So this is a girl that lives on the East Coast. And I don't even, actually, I think she's from India, too. Like, I think she's studying here.

Tonight, the desperate search for a college student on spring break missing in the Dominican Republic. Dive teams joining the search. Dominican officials say the 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student was last seen on surveillance camera Thursday just before 5 in the morning. It's not clear if she was alone or with other people. Konanki is an Indian citizen living in Virginia outside Washington, D.C. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Virginia says she was traveling with five other women, all students at Pitt, including her best friend from high school. Investigators say the women are believed to have been staying at the same hotel in Punta Cana, the Hotel Rio Republica, according to the Dominican Foreign Ministry. All six women were scheduled to return on Friday. The five friends are still in the Dominican Republic. A major question for investigators, who was last with her? The U.S. State Department has issued a travel advisory for the Dominican Republic, level two out of four, asking Americans to use increased caution, saying violent crime, including armed robbery, Homicide and sexual assault is a concern. Jesus, what? And our kids are going there on vacations? And, Lindsay, we are just getting late word from investigators in the Dominican Republic. We're being told they believe she may have drowned. We're being told that she was on the beach with a group of people. Some of them left. She stayed and went swimming with somebody. They are still searching for her, Lindsay.

All right, so this is the deal. This is the deal. And I know we got a lot of moms and dads and kids that are getting ready to start high school right now. And the seniors go on these trips. If your kid's going by themselves, you've got to make sure that there's some kind of a parent that becomes their parent that time. Because I've gone on these stupid trips before, and of course, this last one, Chelsea and I can't go because the kid's in college, and for some reason, no college parents go. Next time, I'm going. I don't even care if he doesn't know I'm going. I'm going to go and be a private investigator there. But these kids, you cannot go off in the middle, what time did they say she was? Like 5 in the morning?

Between 3 and 5 a.m., they think.

And going swimming in the ocean at that time? Like, what are you doing? But, man, oh, man, we got to pray and hope that this is, that, you know, somebody is able to find her. I always, I asked Luke, I said, Luke, you know, how safe did you feel there? And he said, well, he said, you know, the people would ask, like the people that work there would ask them if they wanted certain things and stuff and trying to get them to sell things to them. And I'm like, man, you know, they're not out for your best interest. People are not, you know, the people that, I always feel like there's somebody that's looking to take advantage of you somehow, and you just got to protect yourself. And so there's a little bit of impacts type thing, like where you're in groups, you're more safe because there's enough people there that they don't want witnesses to what's about to happen. My name is Medterica Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday.
