Did you guys see the story that came out yesterday? There's like an alert that came out about the Villanova school, the university, was on lockdown because there was an active shooter. No. So the alerts came in the afternoon and I said, oh, my God, they just started school and they had this thing. Turns out that it was a swatting incident. So it didn't happen. There was not an active shooter at Villanova yesterday, if you saw that news report about that happening. But it also has happened at three other schools at the beginning of this year, including University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where it happened. And I see these swatting stories all the time. And I've always wanted to ask this question. Has anybody listening ever been swatted? Like, what is the deal with this, where they call in something fake to the police and then the police all show up there?

That's so scary, though. Then they put the entire campus on lockdown in some cases.

And I thank God that it didn't happen, but I also think that the panic that those kids must have had on their first week on campus. That's awful.

Do they ever catch these people who do it?

They think the Villanova one, they're going to catch this person, and they think that there could be ties between the couple that have happened this week.

But that's the thing. There's got to be penalties for this, because if there's no consequence, then what prevention

people will keep on doing it? It's a prank call.

Do you think that when a person does this swatting stuff to celebrities, have you seen the celebrities at this show?

No, it happens all the time.

Do you think that when they happen, are they like a teenager doing them? Or like who predominantly is doing it?

I don't know, but they lame as hell. Like a lot of these people are just trying to do it for social media clock. Like they think it's cool to be like, I'm the one that caused the mayhem. And it's not funny.

But here's the problem in a case of like Villanova. That's a lot of resources that are then all being directed to that campus that could possibly be used in an emergency elsewhere. You know, God forbid something happens.

Hi, just wanted to say it actually happens a lot with online gaming. I've seen situations where people on live streaming, people will call in and swat the people, say there's like a threat going on or there's someone getting attacked, and they'll watch the person's home get barged into and pretty much get on lockdown and arrest the person just streaming a video game.

How do they know where that person lives? Like, if you're online gaming, how do you know that?

It's like a hacker getting their IP address or something, and they can locate their home through their IP address. I've seen videos of it online where they watch these people, and they have headphones on, so they don't hear anyone entering their home. It's an extremely dangerous situation, and people have gotten hurt from it.

Yeah. Wow. This just happened to a recent guy that's a streamer. His name, DDG. He had a child with Halle Berry. Halle Berry, the girl that played Little Mermaid. Oh, yes. But he was streaming like a paintball thing in Las Vegas, and someone swatted it. Police showed up, arrested him, put him in a car, and then they figured out what actually happened. Holy crap. Yeah, he's right.

It happens a lot. It takes a while because they're disoriented. A lot of the times they have headphones on with music, so the police are screaming at them, and half the time they can't hear him, which makes it even worse.

Have they ever had a situation where somebody's actually lost a life because of this? Like where somebody turned around, saw all these cops that were there, and the cops ended up shooting them or something?

I haven't heard of that, but I think people have gotten hurt.

Yeah, I used to work for a restaurant back in Colorado, and a customer came in mad and didn't get the help that they were looking for, so they swatted the restaurant. Jesus.

Actually, I never heard if they caught him or not. I wonder if he was like a previous employee or something. No, he was a customer. I was there when the whole thing blew up, They were disgruntled over how their food was presented to them. They called in.

When my daughter was in the seventh grade, her and four of her friends just had a group text chat that someone looked over the shoulder. and my daughter's friend got busted with a bomb threat that was non-existent and was almost charged in the seventh grade. They had to get a serious lawyer about getting charged with terrorism.

Well, do you remember when... In the seventh grade. Do you remember there was a bunch of, right after the Oxford shooting, there was a bunch of the fake call-ins of threats and then they ended up having to step up security at all the schools. A lot of kids wanted to get time off from school. And I remember the Oakland County prosecutors was like, we will prosecute you. And these kids got prosecuted. A bunch of these kids did.
