All right, Mojo on the morning show. So, Spike, you had something happen to you when you were trying to go out and eat, or you were out and eating, and it's something that is rather annoying, and I think I probably would be one of these people that would do this just to try to get a table, but what happened?

00:01:33 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 6:

So annoying, the table stalkers. So we were at a crowded brewery on Saturday, and our table of six was actually right by the door. It was probably the closest table to the door, and the hostess stands. So they had to line out the door, and I was so excited. I said to Meg a few times, like, look how great this is, that like this place is booming. Well, occasionally people would hover over our table and perhaps they were thinking we're wrapping up or they were just being rude because they had to stand somewhere to, you know, there was people waiting out in the little vestibule. It's the worst place to sit, right? By the door at a crowded restaurant. But we were camped out there for a while because it was the three of us. It was me, Meg, and her son. And then my two daughters joined us for dinner. And then my brother showed up a little later. So it was almost like we were ordering in shifts, but we were eating and ordering the entire time.

00:02:20 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:02:20 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 6:

And people noticed that Meg and I were done eating. And so like this one lady finally came up and said to me, I noticed they cleared your plates. Will you be leaving soon? And I said, no, we're going to be here a little while. And she didn't work for the restaurant? No, she was a customer. And I said, no. And she gave the rudest scowl. And then like the whole time we were there, like people are just staring at us and kind of hovering, standing right over the table. And I'm like, you can't bully people into giving you a table. What are you doing? It's a brewery. We're still drinking and talking. And look, my brother's still eating. Like, chill the F out. And I get it. Like, this place is crowded. You should have got here early like we did to get a table. It was just crazy how many people will stand around your table or stand right over your shoulder. They want to pounce on the table the minute you get the check.

00:03:11 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 5:

So I will say this. That's why I hate going out for breakfast on a Sunday because no matter what restaurant you go to, people are always looking at you, and I always feel that the most – and I'm a fast eater, but everybody else is not. I wolf my food down, and I feel like they're looking at me being done going, get out, get up and get out. But with that said, Chelsea and I have gone out to restaurants before where they said that the wait was like an hour long. And I'm looking at people just sitting there and it's like they're camped out, you know, doing their finances or something. All of a sudden, the lady pulls out her checkbook and starts balancing it. And I'm like going, wait, are you guys going to get up? So quick, how long were you there? What was the time frame?

00:03:55 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 6:

uh probably it was over two hours a little over two hours two hours yeah some restaurants have like don't they have an hour but here's the distinct difference this isn't this isn't a restaurant it's a brewery so like when meg and i went our intention was we're gonna hang out and have a bunch of beers yeah and order a bunch of apps and just chill for a while like i brought my laptop to work on she brought games she was gonna play with her son you are you're the balance the checkbook guy it's a brewery it's a we're what's the difference between a brewery and a regular restaurant we are constantly some a lot of people don't order any food at a brewery you go to drink drinks the whole time we ordered drinks we had three rounds of drinks we had two edamame as apps before we even ordered our meals then we ordered our meals then my kids came and sat and they right as our meals were coming out they ordered meals so and so we probably had like five different orders of drinks throughout the night we were constantly spending money i i agree

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

with you so i've actually had this happen to me before i was kicked out of the cafe i had just come in i ordered

00:05:00 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 1:

lunch and i i had an essay due this is when i was in college at ou and i was sitting there and my computer had just finished my meal and then the the server came up to take my food away and he told me that i needed to leave because it was rush and i couldn't be on my computer in their cafe if i wasn't eating even though i had just purchased a meal and i had just finished my meal and it was like wait a second like are we really kicking people out of places like but you have to

00:05:27 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 7:

I understand that server has people waiting and wants to make some extra money.

00:05:31 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 1:

So that server actually wasn't my waiter. It was just someone who was cleaning up. It was a pick up your food at the front of the door type situation, which, you know, I get there's people waiting.

00:05:41 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

See, those are sticky situations to me, like the cafes and the breweries, because like most of the time at a cafe, you're invited to do that. So many people have a work meeting or whatever where everybody's bringing their laptops.

00:05:58 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 7:

Did the waiter or waitress spike at the brewery? Did they seem like they were annoyed by you guys being there for as long?

00:06:05 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 4:

No, she was awesome. And she's getting paid well because we kept racking up a bigger bill, bigger bill. And so I tipped 30% on top of what was a really high bill because I know we're there more than your average just regular meal. you know yeah but see that's good she's fine okay no it's just the customers that are paying

00:06:23 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 7:

yeah by the way the customers that hover are the hovering customers first off i thought that covid stopped you from getting within six feet of us you know what i mean right you guys get a little too close and the amazing thing is you don't even work at the restaurant and you're basically telling the table how they should eat or how they should uh get out of the table scott

00:06:43 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

what's going on hey how are you guys doing today good what's happening yeah i was gonna say i I actually did something similar this weekend. I was in a Reno after skiing, and we were at a brewery that was first come, first serve. And there was a group that were kind of looking like they were wrapping up. So I just nicely asked, like, hey, are you guys leaving no rush or anything like that? And they said, yeah. And they said, as we're finishing up our drinks, we're about to play a game. Do you guys want to join? So half of our group joined them, and we hung out with them for about 30 minutes. And then they slowly transitioned, and they were like, all right, we're done. And we took over the table.

00:07:16 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 7:

That's cool.

00:07:16 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 2:

There's an easy way to do it because, I mean, if they would have said no, we would have gone back to just standing and drinking our beer.

00:07:21 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 7:

I had a friend of mine that one time had a hard time getting a table and offered to people that were sitting there that had like three open seats, I'll pay for your meal if you let us sit down with you. And he ended up paying for their meal. That's a way to get it. And I thought, that's the most genius thing ever. The people were like, a free night out. Absolutely. Come join us. I always have a hard time with the picnic tables. You ever go to restaurants that have picnic tables And you're like Can I sit with this person Or can I not sit with this person

00:07:51 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

But then you have to say can you scoot You feel kind of dumb but you're like can you scoot down a little bit You know so you can add your people Onto the table

00:07:59 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 7:

I don't know I always feel weird I'm one of those people that When I'm sitting there at the table I get so Awkward about sitting there and having people look at me Cause I don't want them to like

00:08:09 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 4:

I was kind of bummed we got that table Cause we got there like before five so we could beat the rush and then there was like i mean half the place was empty when we got there within a half hour the whole place was full and then as the night got on they had to line out the door so but i'm like dudes we're still ordering we're still spending money and we're still drinking leave us alone you don't see us ask for the check don't don't come

00:08:31 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 7:

hover you need to be like me and go out to eat at four o'clock in the afternoon right begging you to stay please please i show up and they're like i'm sorry sir lunch is over with like i'm at lunch i'm here for dinner i know it's only three o'clock but what the heck

00:08:47 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 4:

uh my girlfriend had something happen just like kp where she was at a coffee house on the east side in this little cafe she brought her laptop in so it wouldn't be left in the car because it was cold and the lady's excuse me didn't you read the sign no laptops allowed i remember you talking yeah and she was like i'm sorry and she's like i'm not supporting your home office she looks around the place is empty and she's like i'm ordering coffee she's like you can't work in here and i'm I'm like, what kind of trauma did this lady have in her cafe that you're not? That's what half the people in coffee houses do. They sit by themselves and drink coffee.

00:09:17 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 7:

You're slowing her Wi-Fi down, I guess.

00:09:19 - 00:09:19 | Unknown:
