Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. So it's nice to have you with us. SNX listeners, got a Christmas just outside your window right now. It's snowing in West Michigan as we speak. I was watching the Central-Western game last night at Central. Man, oh my God, that looked fun. I mean, Liz, after you sack the quarterback, you just all of a sudden start making snow angels. Bigger snowfall coming, by the way So bigger snowfall coming than just the light flurries Later today for Western Michigan And then those that listen to us on Detroit's Channel 955 That snow will happen too We'll actually get light flurries today Toledo, because of the heat that Megan exudes out there Will no longer get snow today So no snow today Temperature is cold though Was it cold on your way in this morning? freezing. It was, man, I was, yeah, I actually, yeah, go ahead. It was early. It was a car start

00:04:32 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 2:

day. One more time. Ready? Here we go. Ready? And. Sorry, you go. No, no, no, no. Mine's

00:04:41 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 3:

not. No, no, no. Come on. Mine's not, mine's not important. I was just going to say, I actually pulled the winter coat out today and I found nothing in the pockets and I was so upset. Yeah. So what were you going to say? That was more important. It wasn't more

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

It's just stupid I had a standoff with the deer in my

00:05:00 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

yard who will charge at my car so i have to stand there just silently and try to keep locking my car to scare it away but it was freezing this morning and i was like please move i need to get my warm car please you know it's it's wild because i feel and i talked about this like a month ago or so i feel like it's deer and turkey time again they're all like out and about and i don't know maybe they all know because i know it's it's hunting season right now or mating season whatever But the turkeys must realize that their holiday is coming, too. All right. Listen to this morning's War of the Roses. You're going to want to listen at 7 o'clock for this one, so don't go anywhere, okay? Called off the wedding a month before. So they were supposed to get married in December and just before Christmas, and he called off the wedding this past weekend, and she is petrified and very, very sad. So coming up in less than an hour from now, we're going to do War of the Roses to Busted Cheater. We'll find out exactly what's going on. So listen to the Mojo in the Morning Show for that. Taylor Swift tickets, again, and Jingle Ball tickets all coming up today. It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Mojo, Spike, Shannon, Megan, Mike, KP, Reese, Lydia, Katie. Good to have you guys here with us today. One of your friends got burned by talk to text.

00:06:20 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 2:

Well, she's not even really a friend of mine, which is what made this so strange to me. But do you guys use talk to text a lot or do you actually text?

00:06:28 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I use it a lot.

00:06:29 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 2:

I feel like I exclusively use talk to text lately because normal texting just takes way too long.

00:06:34 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 1:

Do you talk louder for some reason, thinking that it actually picks you up? You talk louder and you aren't. And I talk like a robot. I talk like a robot, Shannon.

00:06:43 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 2:

I know. Well, I got a text from the mom of a little girl who were trying to play dates for my daughter, Lucy. and then her daughter now take into account i don't know this mom very well at all um lucy is like this is like a new friend of lucy so we've been texting about our schedules and where we live and what the girls are going to do well all of a sudden i get a text from this mom and i'm going to read it to you this is what it says it says yes baby oh really oh honey you're so cute give me a kiss love you you're beautiful you're smart and you're beautiful and you're kind and you're beautiful give me kiss you make me chuckle chuckle chuckle oh my gosh what actual heck you said you weren't friends with her now you are and like something happened here so a few minutes later the mom texted me and she was so embarrassed she had been talking to her her other daughter who's little in the back seat of her car waiting in the pickup line and she had been texting me so her talk to text was on and she didn't realize it so what she was saying turned around to her daughter was captured on the text message. She hit send because there was something at the beginning of that message that did pertain to me. And then that's what I got. Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle. Which I don't know if she was laughing and that's what it translated as on Talk to Text.

00:08:00 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 1:

You know what's actually kind of funny about that? Hearing you read that text message. It's not that far off of what you say to your little babies than what you say to your bigger babies.

00:08:11 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

Well, and that's why when I started reading it, I was like, oh, God, oh, God, oh, God, because it was a big paragraph of text, you know, it was the same thing repeated over and over.

00:08:19 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 1:

You make me chuckle, although that might not be in there.

00:08:21 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 2:

You're so cute. Give me a kiss. You're beautiful. You're smart.

00:08:27 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 1:

That's funny. Oh, my God. I want you know, it's funny. Talk to text has burned me a couple of times where I just it was just a bunch of whatever. Like, I think I think it picked up me talking about a song or something like that. And then you send it. But I wonder if talk to text has ever burned somebody where they were talking crap about the person.

00:08:47 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

00:08:47 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 1:

Has anybody ever had that happen to them? Like where somebody sent you a text and you're like, they didn't mean to send me this because it was a talk to text.

00:08:54 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

I feel like we're also scatterbrained. So sometimes like I'll start a text and then I do something else and then I'll go back and finish it and hit send and not even really look at what I've texted. Yeah. So that's where I feel like it happens all the time. Right.

00:09:06 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah, 844-665-6548, 844-MOJO-LIVE, Texas 95500, or if I was doing talk to techs right now, it would be 844. I do that all the time. First off, Chelsea makes fun of me because her mom, she only does talk to techs.

00:09:26 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 2:

That's me.

00:09:27 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 1:

And her mom, for some reason, puts the phone in her mouth almost, you know, because she thinks that she's got to get that close to it. Right. So Mary is like the sweetest lady in the world, my mother-in-law. she'll do hi can you come over at noon and she's got like the bottom piece where you charge your phone on the iphone touching her lips basically touching her lips because she thinks that that's what you have to do not realizing okay it picks it up you know when you're just having a conversation yeah and she gets very articulate when she talks to text it's funny um Thank you. The texter here says that when you were reading that, I thought she was talking to her dog.

00:10:05 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 2:

It's the same.

00:10:06 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:10:07 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 2:

It could be dog. It could be baby. It could be your husband. Yeah. He's probably a big baby.

00:10:12 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 1:

Have you guys ever done the talk? Because you have a Buick, right? So it's a General Motors product, right?

00:10:16 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:10:17 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 1:

And I have the Chevy. And I think that they probably use the same stuff. Do you ever do the talk to text over the through the CarPlay thing?

00:10:27 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 2:

Every once in a while I do, yeah.

00:10:29 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 1:

It's better than doing it just on your phone.

00:10:31 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 2:

It is. Yeah, and it's nice that they ask you if you want to respond once you listen to a text. Yes. And you can just talk normal.

00:10:38 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 4:

Through CarPlay, sometimes there's a delay. Sometimes it takes like a full second to start the microphone for me to do talk to text. And then I'm like, oh, I forget what I was going to say.

00:10:48 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 2:

In one second. Yeah.

00:10:50 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 4:

It wasn't that important, I guess.

00:10:51 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 1:

But I do kind of, honestly, Spike, I do kind of like having a little bit of time because it gives me an opportunity to go, dude, I really need to send that. And then when it asked me, like it almost kind of when it does say, do you want to respond? It's almost kind of like judgmental in its tone when it does that. The other the other thing now is the new iPhone, whatever this iOS is that the idea that you can delete your text now is great. I've used that three or four times.

00:11:18 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 2:

I haven't done the update yet.

00:11:19 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 1:

The other thing, too, is that's great is if you want to delete text messages. Like, have you ever done this where you delete text chains? I don't normally do it, but sometimes I'm like, you know, I'm just going to delete that whole text because I don't even talk to these people. So I'm trying to clear out my phone. Yeah. Well, one time I'm clearing up and doing, you know, delete, delete, delete, delete. And then I deleted Chelsea's text change, which I got to save because I got to prove to her something that I did or didn't do. Yeah.

00:11:42 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 4:

You got to go back.

00:11:43 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 1:

So you can go back and undo it. Oh, that's yeah. They actually forget.

00:11:47 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 4:

I can do that.

00:11:48 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 1:

It's awesome. What's up? How are you doing, Cassie? Good. How are you guys doing? Good. We're talking about the talk-to-text fails.

00:11:57 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I was at the store one time, and my mom texted me and said, Hey, can you pick me up some kick-ass? And I was like, the hell is kick-ass? And it turned out she wanted some Kit-Kats. Oh, Kit-Kats.

00:12:10 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 1:

It is. And by the way, it really pisses me off when it comes up as Mother Ducker. You know what I mean?

00:12:18 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's great.

00:12:19 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 1:

I don't like that. Thank you for the call. I love this one.

00:12:21 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 2:

When I was texting my fiancé, my voice-to-text picked up my road rage, me yelling at another car.

00:12:27 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 1:

Nice. That's awesome. What is this one here? I don't know if you're calling. Are you calling that person right there? That's the chuckle, chuckle, chuckle.

00:12:37 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 4:

That's what happened when Fletch called me. Remember, he auto-texted me. He was RSVPing to my party, and he was like, M-E-F-er, da-da-da, and going crazy. And it was the driver in front of him. Oh, my God.

00:12:48 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 2:

I love it.

00:12:49 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 1:

Fletch, by the way, would just send that as a text. Yeah, I know. That's why I was really confused. You don't even realize it. Somebody was trying to say mucho gracias, and it said mucho gracias.

00:13:01 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 2:

In a salted margarita. Mucho gracias, señorita. That was what they were trying to text, but it came out. Gracias, in a salted margarita.

00:13:10 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 1:

Megan, do you do talk to text, or are you not a talk to texter?

00:13:16 - 00:13:54 | Speaker 3:

Every time I talk to text, it genuinely comes out as gibberish. But you guys know, my regular texts come out as gibberish. I say my friends can speak a second language if they understand my text. Because nothing ever makes sense. I think that was an actual translation of something I sent last night. So I'm more of a voice memo person, but even then I'll get distracted halfway through and not realize that I've gotten distracted. and I hit a minute mark and everybody goes, what are you rambling about? Do people like when you send them audio messages? I think so because of how many times they get saved and then used against me at a later date.

00:13:55 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 2:

Okay, because Wes only sends audio messages sometimes. He goes through these bouts and I'm like, I can't listen to them half the time. Because I'm in here. If you're going to send me

00:14:04 - 00:14:06 | Speaker 4:

that, just know I'm never going to listen to them. I have a friend

00:14:06 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 1:

that does it and then he does it and I don't know how, maybe it's just my phone, but it deletes it right away. So if I don't really Yeah, well, it will, like, delete it after you listen to it.

00:14:15 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 2:

Maybe they're sending you some sketchy stuff.

00:14:17 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 1:

Well, it's a dude friend of mine that maybe I do look good. What's up, Christy?

00:14:24 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 5:

Hey, guys. Hey, I was just calling to ask that, like, voice to text thing. Was that a chuckle, chuckle, chuckle, or was that tickle, tickle, tickle?

00:14:33 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was thinking that.

00:14:34 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 2:

Maybe it was tickle, tickle, tickle, but it came across in the text as chuckle, chuckle, chuckle. Whatever. Either way. Thanks, guys.

00:14:44 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

Take care of yourself. 734 says, I had a talk to text fail happen to me. I was sitting there flirting with my husband and sent my mother-in-law. And at the time that I talked to text.

00:15:00 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 4:

I was saying bad things about her. So that's not a good idea. The funniest is if you're doing that and all of a sudden you go, your mother-in-law is texting me while I'm trying to flirt with you or whatever it is, call her some names or something. We got a good show for today. War of the Roses, phone scams, the Dirty on the 30, good prizes, Jingle Ball tickets, Taylor Swift tickets. I mean, this is going to be a good one today. We might as well take tomorrow off Because today is going to be really good We're done
