We've had seasons that have shaken everything. The question is, what remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenciano, and on my podcast, Unshaken with Gary V., I sit down with amazing personalities and we talk about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their eyes. Listen to Unshaken with Gary V on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you

00:02:06 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 1:

get your podcasts. Bill, why is my eye twitching? Does this mean I'm in perimenopause? Where's my phone? Juliana, maybe we can ask an actual human. Yes, because I have questions and I bet you do too. Like, is it normal to sleep in separate bedrooms? We do that and I still need to know

00:02:23 - 00:02:34 | Speaker 5:

why my poop's been green. We've got actual people answering these exact questions. Listen to Bill and Juliana, the podcast, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts.

00:02:37 - 00:02:43 | Speaker 7:

It's Mojo on the Morning Show. Megan wants to play a round of Am I the A-Hole? I like this.

00:02:43 - 00:02:44 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:02:44 - 00:02:53 | Speaker 7:

Is Megan an a-hole for what she did yesterday at, and I'm not going to say the place, but all I'm going to say is, a fast food Mexican place.

00:02:53 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 8:

Weird. What's going on? I wonder where. This is also one of those establishments where you go in and you tell them exactly what things you want put into your meal.

00:03:03 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 7:

Oh, I think I know that place.

00:03:05 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 8:

So I go into there and there is like a long line ahead of me. I hate when there's a long line there. And I'm kind of just sitting on my phone and trying to check out and just pretend like I'm not standing in line for this food. That is expensive. um and the woman in front of me gets up to the line and we had been waiting to be fair quite a while so she's clearly irritated just from the jump she is not happy and she's going through this line and a lot of 16 17 year olds are working at this restaurant and she's not happy with the way that her food is being made and she starts getting really snippy with the girl what was she upset about just not enough food being put in to her meal oh this makes me uncomfortable when you start berating the workers well let me just say this though

00:03:56 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 7:

on a berating part you deserve to get berated if you work at this place because they're now getting very very stingy with the amount of food they're putting in the no you don't berate a 16

00:04:09 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 8:

year old because a ceo of a multi-billion dollar corporation is getting stingy that's that's not the order of operations.

00:04:17 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 7:

Megan, she's hangry.

00:04:20 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 8:

I don't care. The woman... You're a grown-ass lady. Act like it. Have you noticed, though? And stop being mean to teenagers trying to make minimum wage.

00:04:29 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 7:

Listen, you're the same person that thought a salad portion size was way too small to pay that amount of money.

00:04:34 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 8:

And guess what I didn't do? Yell at the employee.

00:04:37 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 7:

You went on the radio and just yelled at them.

00:04:39 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, exactly. Of course I did. Just like you would go home and complain and I haven't gone back to the restaurant since.

00:04:44 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 7:

Explain the story. Explain the full story because I'm interrupting you.

00:04:46 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 8:

Lady got super mad, starts snapping at this 16-year-old. She starts tearing up. The older lady starts getting, like, kind of emboldened by the fact that she is just devastating this.

00:05:00 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 6:

young girl and um is really getting into like the heat of the moment and i yelled at the woman i i totally stepped in i was like this poor girl is not defending herself and i straight up was like you want to know what i really said i was like you are such a bitch and i need you to calm down because she has nothing to do with this and the fact that you're taking this out on her is insane. You're a nasty bitch

00:05:30 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 2:

that no one wants.

00:05:32 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 6:

She did not know how to handle the fact that she was confronted by somebody defending this girl. Like, she was blown away that anybody would stand up and call her out for her behavior. And so she was embarrassed, and she was like, you know what? Never mind. And she walked out of the line and walked out of the restaurant.

00:05:50 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 2:

Did she buy the bowl? No.

00:05:51 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 6:

I'd be like, oh, yay. My turn.

00:05:53 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 2:

No. Okay, so So is Megan an a-hole for confronting the lady who is angry over the portion sizes at the fast food Mexican place? Heck no. Okay. I think, let's go back to portion sizes. How small are they getting with these portion sizes?

00:06:12 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 6:

No, it's bad.

00:06:13 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 2:

I mean, I've had it before where I've had to, like, say, like, okay, can I get another scoop of that? Like, I'll actually ask for it. Because they'll charge you extra for the double chicken, but they won't charge you extra for the double beans. But they still want to just give you a little bit of beans.

00:06:28 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

I haven't been there in a while then because the last time I went, I feel like, well, I door dashed.

00:06:32 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 2:

And it was like normal. Oh, it's so small, Shannon.

00:06:35 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 5:

It was yucky because it was the end of the night, but it was normal.

00:06:37 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 2:

Well, here's the thing. At that time, you're just so hungry, you'll eat anything, right?

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, this is true.

00:06:42 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 2:

But it's gotten to a point now where I used to have to hold it with two hands because it was so heavy.

00:06:48 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:06:48 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 2:

And now I can lift it up on my forefingers.

00:06:51 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 5:

To Megan's point, that girl probably, they probably have a protocol on, like, how big the scoop has to be. And her manager's looking over her shoulder. So it's not her fault that she has to abide by the, you know, the rules of the gods to be.

00:07:04 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 2:

And if I'm paying extra for guac, if I'm paying extra for a thing of guac that they put on the top of it, I want you to, you know, give me a good scoop of that. But, Jackie, hello. It's Mojo in the morning. Is Megan an a-hole for confronting the angry lady at the Chipotle?

00:07:22 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 3:

No, not at all. Excuse me. So my teen daughter actually works at Chipotle. And I'm not going to say which location, but she has had burritos thrown at her. And so I was just going to say, don't tell people to berate these people, these workers, because they do. Chipotle workers, I don't know if it's just Chipotle or all fast food. But they treat these young people horribly.

00:07:50 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 2:

Wait, so your daughters had a burrito thrown at her head?

00:07:53 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

Who would do that? Multiple times. Who are these people? What were they so upset about? Because she didn't put enough in. Or sometimes she'll put a scoop of protein in or whatever. And they'll ask her to put a little bit more. So she will. And she'll tell them, like, this will be considered double meat. And they get to the register, and she'll ring them up, and they get so mad that she's charging extra. She has to. Her manager's standing there, and they will throw the food at her.

00:08:24 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God.

00:08:26 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 2:

That's crazy.

00:08:27 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 6:

People are out of hand.

00:08:29 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 2:

Rob, what's going on? How are you?

00:08:31 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 1:

I'm doing good, guys. I love listening to the show all the time. I just have to say, Megan, I'm on your side one million percent because in this world, people are so self-absorbed. They don't put themselves in the situation of what the real situation is, like Megan said. It's not that girl's fault that the portion sizes are smaller because of the CEO's, like, and then making the girl cry. I commend you for standing up for that girl in front of the public and making that lady feel like crap. And you know what the solution is? You just go to Qdoba. Then you don't have to worry about it.

00:09:04 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 2:

No, Qdoba. I'd rather eat half the size portions at Chipotle than eat a Qdoba.

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 5:

I tried the other day. It was not good.

00:09:12 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 2:

Brie, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 5:

Hi.

00:09:15 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 2:

How are you, guys? Somebody just texted and said, Megan is a GD hero at 734. What's going on, Brie?

00:09:23 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 4:

She absolutely is. I'm on Megan's side 100%. I hate when people do that, especially to teenagers. And I worked at McDonald's. I mean, that is the worst job in the entire world, and people are the worst. But I'm telling a story about there was an accident in front of my house. And this lady literally got out of her car because the teenager tapped her car. I watched the whole thing. And she starts screaming at this kid. She's probably, like, just got her license and tapped her car. And she's screaming and screaming at her. And I was like, excuse you. Like, that is totally on.

00:10:00 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 7:

called for and she's like mind your own business i'm like you're in my yard oh yeah it's my business like everybody you know like that's just too much so i'm with megan that sometimes you gotta back back the younger ones up because the old people are nuts uh kayla what's going on it's mojo in the morning hi hey mojo i actually used to work at this restaurant that you guys are what restaurant are you referring to can you describe it i love it yeah yeah yeah i used to work there and there actually is a standard for the portion sizes so you're supposed to get four ounces of rice four ounces of beans four ounces of your protein and then for the salsas and things like that it's two ounces so it's supposed to be a heaping soup but people would get so mad they'd be like that's not enough. You put five pieces of chicken on there. So I'd be like, okay, let me give you another half a scoop. Oh my gosh, you only put three on there. What, are you going to run out? Actually, I think I might. Do you see how much you're getting on your bowl? You're keeping

00:11:09 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 5:

them healthy.

00:11:11 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 7:

Can I read, Kayla, I got to read

00:11:15 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 5:

these text messages. These are too good. Listen to these text messages. 313 says, Megan is a hero. Why do you have to

00:11:21 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 4:

say it with such disdain? 734 says,

00:11:23 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 5:

Another reason Megan is a queen. 810 says, we need more Meghans in this world. This is the best one of them all. 248 says, not all heroes wear capes. Yes. Oh, my God.

00:11:37 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 6:

Some of us wear Modelo baseball hats.

00:11:41 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 5:

No, no, no. Some of us wear. No, hold on. Hold on a second. Sophia is not happy with Megan. What's that, Sophia?

00:11:48 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 6:

So I agree with the principle of what happened. But I think you could have said it more in a constructive way. No. No. Why? Why?

00:12:01 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 5:

What do you think? What do you think, Kayla? What do you want to say?

00:12:05 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 7:

I think Megan is totally right in this situation because people used to be so nasty to me as a line worker at Chipotle. I wish I had someone to stick up for me when I used to work there.

00:12:15 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 5:

You wish that you had another person call another woman a bitch for you.

00:12:19 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. These people are out of line, man.

00:12:23 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 5:

Sophia, we're happy that Megan did this for the sake of the fact that Megan never, ever vocalizes anything to somebody in person. No. It doesn't happen.

00:12:33 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 7:

My butthole was puckered. Kudos to you, girl. Yes. Kudos to you, Megan.

00:12:38 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 6:

But, Sophia, when you see somebody raging out like that, do you really think if you say to them, like, hey, I think that's a really mean way to talk to her, that that's going to settle in at all? Or do you need to meet the same energy? Like, I brought the same energy she was bringing. I think I do agree that you should have said something and I'm happy that you did because I worked in fast food as a young kid and I got treated like garbage. But I think you could have said something more like, hey, what you just said was very disrespectful and it's not appropriate. She's just doing her job. I think she's more likely to listen to you if you kind of, you know, say it a little more constructively instead of just like calling her a bitch because then she's going to get triggered and get angry. And you know what I'm saying? Yeah, but she already was.

00:13:22 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 4:

And she left, and you got to get your food faster. My New Year's resolution this year is to be a half-full kind of guy. The glass will be half-full. Of vodka or whiskey, this is Mojo in the Morning.

00:13:37 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 2:
