Got a couple of shout outs and stuff I'm going to do coming up here in a second. First, though, Shannon, how did everything go with Jimmy's opening of his restaurant?

00:01:37 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Can I just take like one minute to talk about this? If you follow me on social media or you follow the Mojo page, actually, you saw the photo of me and Wes was there, too. But my friend Jimmy, who talk about like a true story of the American dream. Jimmy came here from Mexico with like next to nothing, started as an Olive Garden server and a host at Mexican Village, is an incredible chef, started making tamales, which are the best I've ever had, selling them out of a cooler, then bought a food truck, the Tres Liches food truck, which has come to my family reunions, my neighborhood block parties. And then over the weekend, we cut the ribbon with Detroit Mayor Duggan on his brand new restaurant in Mexicantown. And it was just the coolest thing to watch this happen over the years. And Jimmy, to be there to support him and see him and be able to speak about this incredible man and his wife Juanita and their sons.

00:02:44 - 00:02:49 | Speaker 7:

Explain, because this is not just a restaurateur getting a restaurant.

00:02:49 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 4:

No, that's what I'm saying. I mean, I just explained, like, he really had this dream and has spent years trying to make it come true. And so now he has this restaurant, and you need to go there. It's called Tres Leches. It's at 3400 Bagley in Detroit. Isn't it nice? You will not be disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant. It's so fun. The food is out of this world. So it was just, it was really cool to see and to be a part of on Friday.

00:03:15 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 7:

whenever i hear my friend people that have this like dream that they're gonna do something like start a business and then they start the business it's just to me that's the that's the american way you know what i mean like that it's like only in america just stuff like that happen yeah i'd love to know uh if there are any other people out there that you know sharing this have ever thought of that you know and all of a sudden started a business and now they're hugely successful yeah

00:03:38 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 4:

i mean i got to cut dan gilbert give us a call with him i got to cut the ribbon although jimmy We had very, very little scissors. There was no big pair of scissors. Even the mayor was like, I've done this many, many times. I've never seen smaller scissors in my life. And then we had to release like doves, I think.

00:03:53 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 7:

You released doves?

00:03:54 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 4:

You guys, honest to God, terrifying. Terrifying experience. I was so scared I was going to hurt the bird.

00:04:01 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 7:

Hold on a second. Hold on. Look who's on the phone with us right now. Jimmy!

00:04:05 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 4:

What? Jimmy! Jimmy! The boss, I'm a papacito! What?

00:04:13 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 1:

Arriba, arriba, arriba, arriba, ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta Well, you have to move on, especially after the pandemic. You are my padrinos. You are my mentors. You are the people to give us every single day of our lives.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 3:

stick, for we can continue to live in this world.

00:05:04 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Thank you, Mojo. Jimmy, can I tell you, this is awesome to hear. This man makes the best tamales ever. Now he's got himself his whole restaurant with unbelievable food. Explain to me, what does the doves mean? What's the symbolism of the doves?

00:05:21 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's a great story. The things at the end?

00:05:27 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, like releasing

00:05:29 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 3:

the doves explain that to me okay one of the things every day we have to thank thankful and grateful for what god no matter what religions religions are disciplines okay no matter what and the situations that we live in every single day yeah we have to say thank you just for you and me, put it this way, you've been in a hospital, you've been in a tough time with your heart, it's pumping, you remember that I told you, tic-tac, tic-tac, just say thank you because we're breathing, because we're smiling, because we get mad, because we get happy, every single day we have to enjoy, so in appreciation to God, to the Spirit, just Give to the life.

00:06:23 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God.

00:06:23 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 2:

So we send our thanks up to God.

00:06:25 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 1:

That is spectacular. That is what a great piece of symbolism, but what a beautiful honor to do. I love that about you, Jimmy, is that you're a faithful man, but I also love the fact that you're a guy that does not let something hold you back. You take risks. This is a huge risk, but you know what? We're going to make sure our listeners are there and that they are supporting you.

00:06:49 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Yeah, so Taqueria El Rey and Tres Leches, they say together is better. So they're now in the same building in Mexicantown.

00:06:58 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 1:

And we're going to be down, by the way, we're going to be shutting you down for some partying and tequila when we're down in Eastern Market. Imagine how many times we're going to be eating that for lunch and dinners.

00:07:10 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. What's a very important people over there, the management, the mayor, the manager from the Eastern Market. Oh, yeah, I met her on Friday. But to every single of you, every single of people that listen to you right now, without them, we are nothing. Today's day, we have to collaborate every single each other. If we don't help each other today's day, companies, between companies and companies, I don't want to say the bad word, the F, but you know, we have to help each other today's day. We're living today, Papito. Love you, Jimmy.

00:07:51 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 1:

Hold on a second. Somebody on the phone with us right now, you experienced this. Romina, is that you? Hi, yes, that's me. You experienced the beauty of having an idea and taking it to the next level?

00:08:04 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, absolutely. First, I want to say congratulations to Jimmy and his family. That is a great accomplishment. And luckily, my family is going through the same thing as well. We have a small taqueria in Madison Heights, tiana mexicana and we're actually opening up a larger restaurant with a liquor license finally and that's going to be right next door and it's called tacos tequila y mas in madison heights as well but we're super super excited it's a great accomplishment it's been a lot of hard work

00:08:29 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

yeah and you know what there are plenty of uh of bellies around to be fed by this wonderful food

00:08:37 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 4:

and absolutely there's opportunities for everyone and i think everyone deserves their chance and

00:08:43 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 1:

i'm super excited for him that's great isn't that cool that's cool to hear that jimmy i i've known you for a long time my friend and i want you to know this this is going to be the first of many

00:08:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

that you will be opening up so get ready my friend and we're here to generate listen we're here to generate love every single day at the same time if we don't do love the entire things that we have to do on the third single basis days, we ask, you know? So keep going. My wife, Shannon, just- Shout out to Juanita. Juanita, she almost passed away last December, mojo. Oh, geez. Oh, man. In 36 hours, I said I was in Mexico, and I get boomed back to here to continue. And unbelievable. This is another story, but Juanita, she's she knows she she's carrying every single day on her life a little oxygen machine it wasn't for the inventor that got create those people the entire queen and for the hospitals how can we live i'm diabetic no matter what guys you have to keep going to keep fighting

00:10:00 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 1:

to kick heaven every single day. Don't throw the towel, guys, ever at all. Jimmy for president. I'm voting for you, Jimmy. I'm waiting, I'm waiting. Shannon, repeat where the restaurant is, where it is and stuff.

00:10:17 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 2:

So it is Tres Leches, and it is at 3400 Bagley in Southwest, right there in Mexican town. La Gloria Bakery is right across the street, if you know where that is.

00:10:28 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 1:

And I want trade for, Actually, if our sales department goes over there and asks for trade, I will kill them.

00:10:33 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 2:

No, do not.

00:10:34 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 1:

We burn so much trade, and this poor guy, we go and spend cash there.

00:10:40 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 2:
