It is Mojo in the morning. Phone number 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. The text is 95500. I got to ask you guys a question because you guys went to the auto show. What's the story? Because Kev was talking about the coat check.

00:01:49 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 6:

There was like some kind of a coat check thing that happened? First off, it's like six different entrances to the auto show. But there's only one coat check. First off, that's an issue right there. Having to have people walk all the way from, let's just say, the west side to the east side to check their coats is ridiculous. Oh, my God. There were so many coats that got lost and or stolen to the point where at the end of the night, when I'm walking down there, because I don't do coat shake. I'm not checking a coat. No, I'll leave that bad boy in the car and just freeze for the little five minutes. But my date had her coat. She had to go get it. Bruh. All I walk up in here is a sheriff on the microphone. He's like a megaphone. Like, attention, everybody.

00:02:28 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 1:

We understand what's happening. We are trying our best. There were probably 2,000 people waiting to get codes. It was like 25 people deep. And as long as like this building, this floor. Is it because everybody left at the same time? Yes. But like to Kev's point, like it was such a great event. And then they were just not prepared at the end. They actually brought in the Detroit police, the state police, and I think the Wayne County police were in there as well. It was absolute insanity. It was crazy. Well, how is this their fault? Why is this coworker waited two hours for his wife's coat?

00:03:03 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 6:

I get what you're saying, Megan. If it's like a flood of people at one time, I do stuff. My thing is have more than one coat check.

00:03:09 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 1:

Don't just have it all in one area. You know everybody's leaving at the same time. It's not a long event.

00:03:14 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 5:

This is the reason why I don't coat check. I will not coat check because I have a hard time finding coats. And if I lose my coat, it's not a good thing. But also, I feel like I've had more bad experiences at code checks. Not this one. I've never been to this Huntington Place code check. I've never done that before. But I have had my coat be taken at, like, restaurants or at events. And then they're looking for the coat. And I'm like, find the size, you know, 56 or something like that.

00:03:46 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 1:

Well, shout out to Detroit Police because they were taking people's phone numbers in order to make sure they got their coat. So, like, you know, it was kind of a stain on a beautiful night.

00:03:55 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 6:

From the beginning of the process, look, because my girl, she, I was like, do your thing. I'm going to go sit down real quick. It took her about 30 minutes just to check her coat. Then she said she had to pay an extra 20 because, like, I think it was some nefarious activities. I worked coat check before.

00:04:12 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 5:

You're such a gentleman. You said, I'm going to go sit down. My feet are hurting.

00:04:15 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 6:

I mean, she said she, I didn't say my feet were hurting me, but she had people she knew. So I was like, okay, knock that out.

00:04:20 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 5:

What do they call it? In the, when you're, you're a bar, like, uh, what is the deal when you don't wear a coat to a bar and all the girls, no, anytime I ever go to a bar, there's a name for it. There's a term for it where you go to a bar and the, uh, women never have coats on at the bar. Like they, and they're, they're standing in line and every guy's got a big old coat on and he's not giving her his coat up. He's like not a gentleman at all.

00:04:47 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I don't think I should I'm just gonna say Yeah You knew it was cold outside You made that decision Now I have to be cold Just to be quote unquote gentleman Like come on man I understand being nice And the world

00:05:00 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 1:

got us in such a way where I look like an a-hole, but let's remember you chose to leave your coat in the car. Yeah. So many places don't have a place to put your coat. I don't want to carry it all night. 844 Mojo Live, 844-665-6548. I was happy I was cold that night. I want to hear the coat check crazy stories. I want to hear the deal. Has anybody ever had it where the coat check person was walking out with your coat on?

00:05:28 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 4:

Or you got a coat back that wasn't yours and there was something in the pocket that was like good or bad.

00:05:32 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

I always hear the stories about dry cleaners where this happens, where the person will, you bring something to the dry cleaner and the dry cleaner takes your dry cleaning and takes off your, takes your clothes. Has anybody ever run into their dry cleaner out in your dress? I'm telling you, there's a term for that. Where girls, where. There is. And I don't know why. Because recently, I think it was like. even a year ago, I think I was talking about being up on campus at Michigan State and out in front of Harper's, there was all these college girls all in the they looked like they were dressed for summertime on a lake. I'm not going to say snow hoes. That ain't what you're talking about. That's it. It's like something like that. Something like that. Yeah. Yeah, they're doing something like that. Texter here says, I one time lost my coat only to find the coat check person leaving at the end of the night and their car had a bunch of coats in it. Where were they taking them to? What's up, Terry? How you doing?

00:06:35 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 4:

I'm good, thank you. I was working at a restaurant, Larco's and Troy, many years ago, and I hung my coat in the coat check in the back, and some drunk lady went to leave and had my coat on with my car keys, and we could not get it off of her. And I kept saying, put your hand in the pocket. My keys are there. It was like a whole ordeal.

00:06:58 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 1:

So she wouldn't believe that it was your coat and you could prove that there were your keys that were sitting in the car or in the coat.

00:07:05 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 4:

She was not listening to anything. It was her coat and it was going to be her car.

00:07:10 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 1:

Larco's, by the way, was a great place.

00:07:12 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 4:

I think it's still there. Is it? It sure was. Hey, let me give a shout out. They still got a pizza place in Auburn Hills, by the way, and they sell some of their pasta sauces the sun runs in. That place was so good.

00:07:23 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, shout out to Larkos. What's up, Sue? How you doing?

00:07:27 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Mojo. So my husband and I went to the auto show many, many years ago, and this doesn't sound like it's a problem that's been fixed because we were waiting on our coats, waiting so long. Finally, he's like, screw it. I'm going to go back there and look for my coat. So he's looking, he's looking, and then who comes up to him? Harry Harrison from the news gives him his coat check and says, hey, can you get my coat for me? He's like, Harry, I don't work here.

00:07:51 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

i'm just looking for my own coat i always love when people think that you're the coat check person or the hostess or host at a restaurant and they'll come up to you and go yeah hi can i get a table before i'm like i'm like you man i'm just sitting there uh working the the same process trying to get through what's up candace hi how are you good what's going on we're talking about the I love when Kevin uses words nefarious acts at a coat check

00:08:18 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 2:

yeah when I used to go out in Royal Oak all the time I checked my coat at Blackfin oh I miss Blackfin I know and it was like a $700 coat that I got on sale a $700 coat but I got it for like $200 so it was like the thrill of my life and it went missing it wasn't there at the end of the night and i kept calling blackfin and we knew like a couple people that worked there and it turns out that one of the bartenders like they had so many meetings about my missing coat finally uh one of the one of the staff like fessed up and turned in my coat

00:08:59 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 1:

no way wow but i got it back that's crazy you wonder sometimes if they meant it on purpose or if they did it completely by it's got to be on purpose right like they want if they had to quote

00:09:11 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 4:

Don't quote, fess up. It was done on purpose.

00:09:13 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

Rose, what's up, Rose?

00:09:16 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 4:

Hi, how are you today? Yeah, I was at the auto show last night, and they gave me the wrong fur coat, and it just had a whole bunch of condoms in both the pockets. That was my coat. Yeah. My boyfriend's looking at me like, why do you have all those condoms in your pocket? I'm like, I don't think this is my coat.

00:09:33 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Rose, can I be honest with you? If I'm wearing a fur, I'm not coat checking a fur. Oh, it's Detroit, bro. It ain't nothing but meeks and furs in there. I want anymore. Our furs are expensive, man. That's like driving, I don't know, a Ferrari to a valet park at the mall. I would never do that. That's all you're going to see. Really? I promise you. You guys are crazy. You think that you're going to get that fur back?

00:10:00 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 3:

right? Yeah. By the way, which fur was nicer, the one with the condoms or without the condoms? The one with the condoms, that's why I knew it wasn't my condoms. They've taken over cities before, but this July they're bringing the X Games League Championship home to New Orleans. July 24th through 26th at the Superdome. Over 100 elite athletes competing for the first ever league title. Plus, Metro Boomin, JID, Subtronics, and Bunt performing live. New Orleans doesn't just host a moment. New Orleans is the moment.
