Mojo in the Morning. I didn't get to this topic yesterday, and I really wish I would have because it was too good of a topic to not get to. But KP has a complaint about living with her grandparents. For those that are listeners of the show and don't know, KP is our executive producer, but also we've talked before about she actually is living with her grandparents until she can get an apartment, which, by the way, I think you're this close, right, aren't you?

00:02:15 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 5:

I am close.

00:02:16 - 00:02:18 | Speaker 4:

She's found a friend possibly, right?

00:02:18 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 5:

I have found a roommate, although we're in a discussion right now on which city we want to live in.

00:02:23 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 4:

She's going back and forth. She's thinking, guys, you guys tell her what she thinks. She's thinking she wants to move downtown Detroit.

00:02:29 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's so fun.

00:02:31 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 5:

My gut keeps telling me that. I've lived in suburban Michigan for so long, and I just feel like I needed a change. I don't know.

00:02:40 - 00:02:52 | Speaker 4:

So connected her with the Bedrock people who have all kinds of apartments and stuff, so hopefully that will work out. But one of the reasons why she wants to move out is it's a little tough being free, isn't it, at home?

00:02:52 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it is. I actually haven't had any issues. I'm actually not seeing anyone right now, which is kind of good because I would feel super weird bringing a guy over to my house, even if we were just hanging out. But this I feel like a lot of people can relate to when you have your own space. And in apartments I've been in the past, the bathroom is normally attached to my room. so I can just go from the bathroom to my bedroom without thinking. And you know what I'm talking about here. I'm just walking around in my negligee. I don't know. You're 23 years old. Or like, I don't just make it. No, I actually need to buy new underwear because they're like five years old. I don't have a negligee. But so my grandparents have done this new thing, which I totally, totally get. I'm not upset about it. It's super helpful. But there is one caveat. They installed cameras in every single crevice of our condo.

00:03:46 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 3:

Really?

00:03:47 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 5:

Every crevice has a, what is this called? It's like, I don't even know. Like ring cams? I don't know if it's a ring, but it's a knockout.

00:03:53 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 3:

Were they robbed? Why did they have to have it in every room?

00:03:55 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 5:

Actually, they had a really, really bad robbery like 40 years ago. Someone broke into their home and broke everything. Wow.

00:04:01 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 4:

But wait, they put them in after you moved in. Why are they doing them now?

00:04:06 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 5:

Oh, they always have cameras in every room. Oh, they always, they had it there when you moved in. Yeah, they've had so many projects around the house It took them till now to get them up

00:04:13 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 4:

I thought that it was new And they were just trying to see what the granddaughters doing

00:04:19 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 5:

It is suspicious They do have a camera outside my bedroom window And I'm like, well, this is kind of funny I mean, to be fair I'm in the basement And that would be a place of entry for burgers

00:04:29 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 4:

And again, tell everybody the community that you live in

00:04:32 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 5:

I live in a 55 and up community Oh, that's not right It's great Everyone's super friendly and goes on walks and waves and everyone's nice and yeah anyway I want to do a field trip to her I do too they have like their little meetings or they have like a newsletter they get sent out they do activities together I went to the ice cream social over the summer oh my god I was the only young person there why is it to invite us

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

why is it that I feel like this is the wrong thing

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 1:

Like, Megan needs to be living in a 55-plus community.

00:05:03 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 5:

Megan might have before. We're going to have vacancy once I get into my apartment, so maybe if you want to live with my grandma.

00:05:08 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 1:

Wait a second. You lived in a 55-plus community?

00:05:10 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 4:

I did before.

00:05:11 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 1:

With who?

00:05:13 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 4:

With my mom for a little bit. Oh, did you? Yeah, when I got divorced, they had to get special permission for me to move in because I was so young, and we had to get letters. Oh, I thought you were talking recently.

00:05:26 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 1:

Imagine all the candy they have in their purses.

00:05:28 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I had a very different experience. Nobody was nice in my neighborhood. They were all very angry.

00:05:35 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 5:

Well, because you were so young, they move into those communities to get away from loud young kids. Right, right. Do I look old or something?

00:05:43 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 1:

So, KP, well, you were probably, how old were you at the time, like teenager at the time? 14, 15, yeah. So, KP has her grandparents with these security cameras all around their house. and you're like not feeling like you can like just run to the bathroom naked or run to the

00:06:00 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 5:

bathroom in your negligee i realized so i was like in the bathroom and i'm like oh shoot i forgot my my clothes um that i'm going to change into after my shower downstairs i can't run downstairs naked anymore like i usually just like do a little quick check and like are they out here and i'll just run

00:06:17 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 4:

if you get a roommate are you still gonna run around naked i don't know maybe

00:06:23 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 1:

I don't even like seeing myself Naked so well see

00:06:30 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

I don't know it's like I don't want to I don't want to have to go back downstairs Again and get my clothes and bring them up So I might just like do this mad dash to My bedroom Could you imagine if you guys

00:06:42 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 1:

Didn't have the cameras and KP's Got like the blinds open in the Old folks neighborhood Heart attack central

00:06:50 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 5:

Here come the ambulances right but get this actually i did get caught well actually i don't know if i got caught so it was like i think it was like 11 o'clock at night and i had like i had to go to the bathroom so bad and i was only like my underwear and a t-shirt and i was going up my stairs and i completely forget to check and i look over and my grandma is on the couch but the lights are all dim and she's like so i went right to the bathroom but yeah so that's my issue is i can't run to the bathroom

00:07:19 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 1:

I will tell you that it's probably not a smart thing to do even if your grandparents didn't have the cameras there only because grandma and grandpa even though you're their granddaughter and stuff I don't know if they want to necessarily see their 23 year old granddaughter naked in the hallway

00:07:39 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 5:

especially not on Ring are there listeners of ours

00:07:45 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 1:

who have family members that have cameras all over their place because I went over and visited one of Chelsea's aunts once and they also have cameras all over the place. And I'm telling you, to me, it made me feel like when I was at their house, like I was always being spied on. Like if I had to go to the bathroom, I'm like, this is my third trip to the bathroom. If they go back to the ring cam, they're going to notice on the ring cam, man, this guy's got a bladder problem or something. I have my living room on top of my fireplace,

00:08:14 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 2:

But it's only because it's the only way that I can see like the whole like my whole porch and everything. And I've had some girlfriends that have said, like, you know, can we talk in this room or should we go to another room? Right. Like they don't want the evidence on tape of what they're talking about.

00:08:30 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 5:

You're a parent with young kids in high school who want the cameras up because they want to make sure that their kids are being naughty. Oh, yeah. That's what my parents did when we were younger.

00:08:40 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

See, Shannon just brought up something interesting. I forget those things actually have audio attached to them. So now you're not only visually spying, you're audibly spying on conversations. Ooh, what did you pick up on your ring cams in your home?

00:08:53 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 4:

That's why I can never go to Shannon's. She'd get too much dirt on me.

00:08:57 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Chelsea?

00:09:00 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 3:

So my sister and I, she's way worse than I am, but we're both, we're not very modest. Like, we don't really care. But we were both living with our dad not too long ago. And we're older. We're both in our 30s. We both still look decent, but, you know, we're still older. And my sister, she doesn't care who's around. She will walk out naked anytime. She does not care. Usually she'll, like, try to have a towel or something, like, covering her ta-tas or whatever and have underwear on. But even if my dad's out there, she's just out. Like, oh, I forgot to grab this or I forgot to grab that. She has no shame at all.

00:09:33 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 1:

But what does your family think? Like, what does your dad think when she's running around like that?

00:09:37 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

he honestly he my dad is so chill and laid back he's just kind of like he's so used to it at this point he's just like and he had four girls so he dealt with all the girly stuff the period you know having to go out and buy us pads and tampons and you know he dealt with all this but he doesn't care he just doesn't pay attention chelsea it has a lot to do with confidence too i used to

00:09:59 - 00:10:29 | Unknown:

Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 9:

pageants and um the big thing was during swimsuit girls would walk around everybody naked naked because well they would walk around as intimidation for the for the pageant oh really naked and yeah those are the ones that are insecure man oh i know yeah it's opposite actually

00:10:19 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 7:

um i used to do pageants too i just don't know if you know this Remind me to never sign up for a pageant I would just walk around naked From the waist down I would Winnie the Pooh Through the pageant

00:10:33 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 8:

Wait there needs Never mind

00:10:38 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 7:

There needs to be a Winnie the Pooh pageant Hannah what's going on

00:10:43 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 1:

Hi So I just wanted to say We had something Scary happen at my house while I was home alone one time. So my dad decided to put cameras outside and then also put one inside. And it made us feel safer, but me and my mom absolutely hated it. And we just felt like we couldn't do anything. Like we always felt like someone was watching. So me and my mom made him take them down from inside the house because it was just creepy.

00:11:16 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, there's something weird about it. Even though, you know, it's dad, it's still weird that somebody can sit there and spy on you. Like, I'm telling you, there are some people that I know that have those little, like, table-side ring cams all over their house. Yeah. And I'm going, are they doing that mainly because of security, or are they doing that because they're kind of freaky? Or nosy. I think there's an element of, yeah, freaky or nosiness to doing that.

00:11:43 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 5:

The question nobody's asking KP, you're so afraid of walking around naked, but have you ever witnessed like grandpa walking around naked?

00:11:51 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 9:

I don't even want to think about that.

00:11:53 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 5:

Because, you know, when they get that old, they just kind of wander around, too. No, no.

00:11:56 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 7:

Come on. Does grandpa walk around ever shirtless?

00:12:00 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 9:

Yes, he does. Because he works outside and gets all sweaty.

00:12:03 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:12:03 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 9:

Does he?

00:12:04 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 7:

Are your grandparents like grandparent-looking grandparents? Like sometimes grandparents don't look grandparent-y.

00:12:08 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 9:

Like you look at my grandma. She's got the sweater with the little stitches on the front. You know, she is very grandma.

00:12:15 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 7:

I love that. I never had a grandparent. I had a grandpa, but I never had grandmas. They all died before I could know them. So to me, when Shannie's granny would be around, I was so warm and fuzzy until she would swear. And then almost... Oh, you need to be my grandma. Shann, it's Shann.

00:12:37 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 6:

Shann.

00:12:38 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 7:

It's Grandma Murphy. Mojo just said something dirty. Yeah, no, I'm talking like a – that's not it. Yeah, I always love her voice. She did have that little voice. What's happening, Amanda?

00:12:49 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning. Good morning. So my parents worked during the day, so my sister installed a ring cam to watch their dogs. So she lived with her boyfriend at the time, and unfortunately she decided to go on the app and say, like, oh, I wonder what's going on with the dogs at my parents' house. And my parents were talking, and there was audio, and she was sitting next to her boyfriend. And my parents were talking crazy crap about her boyfriend.

00:13:20 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 8:

Oh, no. Wow.

00:13:22 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 2:

And he heard everything. So then my sister had to call and say, like, stop. What are you guys doing? Because he didn't let her turn off the camera, and it was a whole thing.

00:13:31 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 7:

It was really bad. That's bad. Yeah, you can hear everything. Jordan, why did you pull the cameras out of your house?

00:13:39 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 3:

oh my god so it's a uh i have something scary as well so i i got a ring cam as well for my dog um so i could talk to him throughout the day or whatever and and um so it was my first night with the camera and i'm like oh i caught some action in the middle of the night you know what is he doing so i i decide to look and i'm coming down the stairs and there's my waddling naked ass coming down the stairs and it was disturbing it's disturbing to see yourself in the middle of the night and I I bend over into the fridge and I could see everything

00:14:24 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 7:

you gave yourself a rectal view

00:14:27 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 3:

I hate myself
