It's Mojo in the morning, man.

00:01:32 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 3:

Walking outside is not great right now. Matter of fact, the craziest was last night I was watching some of the stuff that people were posting. And I saw people up in Mackinac posting what looks like it could have been the Mackinac Bridge, but it wasn't. I mean, it was completely covered. And then I thought to myself, okay, well, I guess it's going to be coming this way. It came fast. Yeah. Because downtown Detroit, you couldn't, you can't see the Wrensen. Yeah. You can't see the Hudson's building. I mean, you see what is just lights. Worse than probably not being able to see it in the haze compared to like, it seems like what, the last five summers we have had this happen. The smell is so pungent. It does feel like you're hanging out at a friend's bonfire.

00:02:24 - 00:02:42 | Speaker 4:

you know it's nasty work bro for me it really started moving last night like last night kind of evening is when i really started to taste it and i don't anna not anna shannon i don't know if you're more susceptible to the experience as i am with asthma but it's like immediately it becomes

00:02:42 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 2:

like it's burning my my i said when i walked in my my lungs feel like they're on fire it's so weird and i take medication every day for asthma and stuff so you'd think i'd be like good but i said to you mojo i'm like is this in my head but no like it actually it's definitely worse i feel

00:03:00 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 3:

like in the city than it was when i left my home out in the suburbs it uh it feels like it's it's thicker hair um one of the things i want to do throw out to to the listener um especially if you're somebody because i can hear i can hear kevin's you're i can hear it like i can hear a little bit congestion yeah my hair hurt it's really affecting me turn in your car turn your air conditioning recycler so that it's not pulling from the outside because if you have your air conditioning on normal it's just pulling air from the outside and cooling it it's like the little

00:03:34 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 2:

arrow that like goes all the way in a circle with your car that was on yesterday and i turned it off no you're supposed to you're really supposed to have that on all the time i know usually i don't

00:03:45 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 3:

Well, usually I don't like it because it doesn't cool as much or fast. But definitely if you guys are that way. Somebody needs to explain to me a couple of things. Somebody needs to explain to me what's up with every summer we've got to deal with this. And it's usually coming from Canada. And then we hear these stories, which I think are kind of crazy, that they don't really put their wildfires out or something. I mean, is that the case? Where are my Windsor friends at? Where are you guys? But there was some kind of a thing where they said that they don't fight the fires or something like that. I don't know. Yeah. And then every summer we end up getting the smoke billowing here, which this one's going to end up affecting a lot of people because it's not just going to be something that we're going to have to deal with. I think that this thing's going to be moving all across the whole East Coast.

00:04:43 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 2:

said it's going to be around for us until at least tomorrow morning so like all day today and night

00:04:49 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 3:

i just heard a report and i i'm going to save it for you for your dirty but i just heard a report that i got you audio from that had a guy saying it will be here till it's snows. No, we're not away. The fires will be here.

00:05:08 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 4:

I know you don't like South Park, but that's the song you should be playing. Blame Canada.

00:05:13 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 3:

Blame Canada. There you go. That's the one. But every summer, I feel like we deal with this, don't you?

00:05:20 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

We do. This summer in particular, and it's only been less than 24 hours that I've experienced. I feel like this is the worst it's been. This doesn't compare. Last year, I feel like it was like, it's okay, it's smart. Today is definitely the worst. Oh, my God. Yeah. And there's like this, it's almost like a sepia Instagram filter tent. Yes. It was like God swiped left before posting the picture. It's like this orange-amber burning sensation.

00:05:45 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

And everything's just a little fuzzy. It's very lo-fi to me.

00:05:48 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 3:

Hey, call us in Grand Rapids and Toledo if you guys are starting to get it now, too. And our New York listeners.

00:05:54 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's bad. We got listeners in New York. They say the whole tri-state is kind of affected by it.

00:05:59 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 3:

Oh, because it's coming down from Buffalo area, right? Yeah. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, or the text is 95500. Shout us out and tell us how it is, where you are, and give us just a little report of where this smokiness is going. You know what today is going to be? Today is going to be probably going to a movie theater or something like that, or a mall like the last couple of days with the heat, but just staying inside not trying to be outside because the people, I wouldn't go for walks this morning or this afternoon.

00:06:35 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 4:

When I was driving home yesterday, I saw ladies outside with like, I don't know if they did yoga in the park, but it was a bunch of people with like yoga mats. There was a concert at the Aretha, formerly Shane Park. I'm like, how the hell is Kelly Price

00:06:47 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 1:

in those days right now? I know the kids have practice for like swim and tennis today. I wonder if it'll get canceled, especially tennis swim okay but tennis in the afternoon i don't know hold on travis is uh on the west side

00:07:00 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 5:

of the state where you at travis so i'm in holland but i work in grand haven and just between the two

00:07:06 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 3:

it's terrible okay so you guys are getting so hazy getting it affected too okay uh yeah this

00:07:12 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 4:

is covering everybody what are you doing travis do you work outside uh so i work for a roofing company. Yeah, so you elevate it with the smoke. Will you

00:07:21 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 3:

be outside today, or will you guys try to limit your time?

00:07:25 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 5:

I'm outside every day, but I don't look on the actual roast. It's nice being higher up in the company.

00:07:30 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 3:

Oh. I'm good for you.

00:07:33 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 5:

He's like, close the door. Peons, peasants. We'll let them all choke today.

00:07:43 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

Nice talking to you, buddy. Take care. Man, And I just opened up a picture from somebody online. Honestly, it looks like a yellow haze of what it was like last night as the sun was going down. Nikki, what's going on? Where are you?

00:08:00 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 2:

I live in Perrysburg, and I work in Bowling Green, so just out of Toledo. What's it like there? Holy smoke. I've never seen anything like it. I've never seen anything like it in my life, ever.

00:08:16 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's nuts.

00:08:18 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

I brought my inhaler to work today.

00:08:20 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:08:21 - 00:08:21 | Unknown:

Man.

00:08:21 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

I'm not going to be able to let the dogs run around outside. It's not safe for them either.

00:08:26 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. No, it is nasty. Nikki, please do us a favor and just stay safe, okay?

00:08:35 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 2:

Absolutely. You too. Love you guys. Love you back. Love you too.

00:08:40 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

Ken in Ann Arbor checking in this morning. What's up, Ken?

00:08:45 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 5:

How you doing, Mojo? Yeah, dude, I left Westland this morning. It was smoky. We get to Ann Arbor. It looks like a Cypress Hill concert here. I love that.

00:08:56 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

Rolling doobies.

00:08:58 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 5:

We get to work outside. We're doing a 17-story building. We're on nine right now, and let me tell you, we're probably all going home today. I bet.

00:09:08 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 3:

Wait, you're working on that big high-rise that's coming down to Ann Arbor? The one and only. That's badass, by the way. If you haven't been to Ann Arbor in a little bit, you guys see this thing. But, yeah, so you're up on the high rise, man. The higher you go, the I'm sure worse it gets. Although I've got to be honest with you.

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 5:

We're doing 15 stories on that.

00:09:26 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 3:

You guys have been more into weed and everything in Ann Arbor way longer than anybody else was. Like, you guys were way ahead of the curve.

00:09:35 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 5:

It's been legal. Yeah, hash bash has always been fun. Oh, they've got mushrooms up here.

00:09:39 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

Oh, by the way, don't you think I know?

00:09:42 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 5:

I bet you do. well you be safe out there ken yes sir you guys have a good day everyone be safe don't breathe

00:09:51 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 4:

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

00:10:00 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 5:

They actually are on the streets handing them out right now because of that. Smart, man. Hold on a second here. Let's go to, which one should I go to next here? Let's go to Teresa in GR. What's going on, Teresa? Hello?

00:10:15 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 2:

Good morning.

00:10:16 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 5:

Good morning, Teresa. How are we doing in beautiful West Michigan?

00:10:21 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 1:

It's pretty hazy over here. Almost looks like nightfall.

00:10:25 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

It does, doesn't it? At this time of the morning, usually it's beautiful. It's glorious. The sun is coming up. I mean, it does look like we're going to have a storm or something. It does. It's insane. It is Gotham. Where's Batman at a time like this?

00:10:41 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

We wouldn't even be able to see the symbol in the sky.

00:10:43 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 5:

I know. We would all be in trouble. Well, you be careful, Teresa. What do you do?

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 2:

I'm a door dasher. I'm dashing.

00:10:53 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 5:

Oh, okay. All right. Are you going to make people come to your car? or are you going to bring it out to their porch?

00:10:58 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 2:

I'll bring it to them.

00:11:00 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 5:

You're a good lady. Thank you. I appreciate you.

00:11:02 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 2:

Thank you.

00:11:02 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 1:

First time, long time. Hey, Teresa. We got it.

00:11:07 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 5:

We love you, Teresa. Take care of yourself. Love you guys. Have a great day. All right. Appreciate you so much. And did y'all see that door dasher get hit by that car? Oh, my God. And still delivers. Yes.

00:11:17 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 4:

That was crazy. By the way. She went flying. That was crazy.

00:11:21 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 5:

Can I tell you the viral videos yesterday that were all over were crazy? That was nuts. And then did you see the Blue Angels plane flying over the beach? No. Oh, you got to go see that one. Send it to the chat. I think I did last night. Pensacola, Florida, there was Blue Angels flying over, and they were flying way too close. And all of a sudden, you see everybody's tents or beach attire kind of flying in the air, going crazy. It was really nuts. All right. Well, we got to be safe. Let's let's be safe out there. Please, you know, keep the air conditioning on, I guess, in your home and don't open the windows and make sure that you're not breathing any of this crap. Damn.

00:12:11 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 2:

Most of the time, the cloud of smoke is in my car. But now this outside smoke is nasty. This is Mojo in the Morning.
