I love having them around. One thing I've realized and this is by the way you're the first well actually no you're not because I forgot about that. I should have Renna. Between you and Renna I realize Chelsea and I have only had Chaldean babysitters. Chaldean girls babysat for us. The reason we loved it so much is because especially if they were teenagers or late teens they were not allowed to date by their dads and brothers. So social lives were usually tougher for them on Saturday nights when you needed a babysitter. So it was always perfect.

But then here we are talking right now about how Lydia, who is single guys, is part of a Chaldean dating group. Does that make it tough, by the way, to date because your fathers don't want you dating earlier? And then when you do want to date or you are allowed to date, which you're only allowed to date when you're married, right? Is that usually it?

Basically, but I did date in secrecy when I was younger. So, but I feel like now I'm like 25 and I'm like, well, everyone around me is getting engaged and married and I'm like, I'm a little bit behind.

So there's a group on Facebook. My friend was added to it. It's a Chaldean dating group, but it's just for girls only. So they post anonymously a guy in the Chaldean community and girls comment to see if they've dated him or, you know, if they know him.

I bet you I know 99.9% of these guys.

So she added me to the group, and I was looking through, and there was a guy on there that I have DMed back and forth with before, but we didn't go out on a date or anything. But as I was looking through it, I got blocked from the group, and I was like, what's going on here? Why did they block you? I guess I think that they found out that I work in radio and probably didn't want me using it as content, which, you know, they're doing it. But, yeah, I was really interested in the group because I was like, maybe I can find a potential match for myself in here or I can help a girl out.

Because the secrecy is on the girls' part, right? The guys pretty much in the Chaldean community get a little bit more free reign to kind of go out and have fun, right?

Like, oh, and girls can do it, too. They just got to be secretive about it.

Yeah, that does. It's a double standard. We need to bring, we need to bring up the, uh, all the, the dating to this current year, you know?

So wait a second. So was there like some good juicy stuff underneath some of these, like, did people know the guys and were they spilling?

Yeah. There were people on there that were like, that's my cousin. Or, you know, I dated him for two years, but it all comes up anonymous. So you have the option of posting and commenting. Oh, that's good.

Cause then you can give your honest opinion without being shown.

So I'm Maribach And when I was dating my husband Let me put this in this way, my husband's white So when I was dating my husband back when I was like 20, 21 It was in secrecy Because my father, he's super strict and he wanted me to, he was more like an arranged marriage he wanted to do.

Yeah.

And I didn't want that. So I ended up dating my husband. We ended up getting engaged, getting married. My dad just owned me. But then I ended up getting pregnant and having a boy. And then that's when my dad started coming back to my life saying, okay, it's either not having my grandson in my life and my daughter or.

Wow. And for our podcast listeners who didn't grow up in Metro Detroit, it's very common here that, you know. Oh, yeah. The Arabic women do have to sneak around if they want to date a white man because it's easier than having to face the wrath of your parents who are very old school.

Hey, Rosa, your kids, do they look Arabic, or do they have ethnic look to them, or do they look like their dad?

So my son, he's only seven months old. He was actually my first. And he actually, to me, he looks like his father. He's so white. Like, his face is so white. I guess everyone says he has the features of my features that are strong, like my eyes, my bone structure, the hair, everything like that. It looks like me, but he's white.

It's so funny because I love that your dad now is really a part of their lives because when your dad's holding them and babysitting and doing all the rest of that stuff, you know what I mean? He's looking at his little babies now from the white boy. The white boy gave him. I love it because, you know, Nicole, the crazy Chaldean, who we talked on the show to last week, and her mom is the one from the very, you know, famous Five Lies to Tell Your Mom.

I love these people talk about it. I used to love listening to that when I was a little boy. It's the best. You guys since I was in high school.

I was in elementary school.

But it's funny because her mom, her mom at first, you know, she said had a little reservations about her dating out of the culture, but she now loves this guy, so.

Thankfully, my mom was very good with Leo, my husband. She was like best friends. She loved him from the beginning. My mom was more into love.

That's sweet. That's nice. Any advice on where Lydia can start dating now that she's been kicked off of the Keldian dating group?

Keldian is my preference, though, Rosa. That's the problem. I definitely really like Keldian, guys, so I can't really tell you.

Was it run out of Shenandoah Country Club? Do they have an office there? He was a West Sider. The difference for Mike and Megan on this one is there's Chaldeans that are from the West Side, like West Bloomfield and Birmingham and all the rest of that stuff, and Farmington Hills. And then there's the east side ones where Lydia is from, like Macomb and Sterling Heights and Clinton Township. What are your thoughts on this? And I'll give my thoughts.

I don't think one's better than the other, but I do think that there are certain people from certain sides that think one is better.
