Mojo in the Morning show. They do it all the time. They ruin Christmas. It's Mojo in the Morning. So, Spike, we've talked about this numerous times, And I still don't get why nobody has figured this out, that at this time of the year, they can't be delivering packages like that.

You know, this is the second time this year Amazon has ruined a gift for me. Remember Meg's birthday when they delivered the mixer I got her in the original box and a day early? Because I planned it on a day where she would be at her office all day and I could be home to get the box. Well, they shipped it a day early and they didn't use the Amazon packaging, even though I clearly checked the box. Well, they did that again. This is exactly what they did. I sent a picture we're going to post on our social media. The gift that showed up on the porch yesterday, Megan's son is learning to read in kindergarten, and he could clearly see the word toys written in eight-inch letters on the side of the box. And she asked to have it shipped in a plain Amazon box. They give you that option when you buy. It'll say, this is shipped in its original packaging. Check here if you'd like it to be in a nondescript plain Amazon box, and that's what we did. But, well, on the side of this giant box, toys. And the other side, Hot Wheels Ultimate Car Wash. Oh, my gosh. It's like, thank you, Mattel. Thank you, Amazon, for putting. Well, it's not Mattel's fault, I guess.

That's like the greatest gift ever, too.

Well, it's like the one thing.

Because how do you wait now that you know it's in the house somewhere?

Yeah. And she quickly grabbed it and was like, oh, all these old empty boxes are coming in handy. Like, try to make something out of it and hopefully put it away so maybe he'll forget for 10 days.

I've learned my lesson with that one so many times. It has bit me in the butt. And, you know, last year, I think I talked about this. It wasn't the packages that were delivered to the porch. It was the Amazon Echo Show that I have sitting on my kitchen counter. It tells you when a package was delivered. And if you touch it, it'll tell you exactly what it was. Oh, geez. And so Luce was finding out all sorts of stuff that was delivered because it was just telling everybody what they had just dropped off. I had to change the settings on that.

Plus, then you also had to tell Santa, listen, Santa, we got this. Now Santa has to come up with some new things.

Something else, that's right.

Don't you think that technology has been easy for your shopping? It's great, right? But it's also ruined everything around the fun and spirit of surprising kids. It's not as fun. We were talking a little bit ago about putting together your Amazon wish list and stuff like that and to be perfectly honest with you the joy of going through an old-fashioned jc penny catalog you know or toys r us uh you know the book that would come that christmas book or the now the target red book

And the Amazon book.

Although, I'll be honest with you, none of those compares at all to that Toys R Us one. That Toys R Us, that one that would come, and it would come to your house, and we would fight for it in our house, and even my boys would fight for it early on before Toys R Us was no more. That thing was a kid's dream to go through.

And we would get the markers so you could color code, priority, number them.

Do you remember when you would go through it, and in the back of the thing was where It was almost like they had the high-priced items in the back. And I remember you'd start off, and they'd be like Legos and things. And then as you got through it, all of a sudden, it would go up and up and up. And by the end of the whole thing, you could drive the same car that your mom drives.

But I would remember, I'd get the Toys R Us catalog back, and I'd be like, Nicole, you circled everything, everything on every page. So I'd give her stickers and go, here, sticker, one thing in each section that you like the most. And I'd get back, and everything had stickers on it.

So what we did was we would get the scissors out, the ones, of course, that had the curved end because I would kill myself with the other ones. And I would cut the pictures. And then my brother Bill would come out and go, hey, jackass. And by the way, this is how we talked to each other when we were like five and seven. And he would go, I wanted the thing on the other side. So Santa's not going to know what I want because on the other side of the thing was something that he wanted. And what we would do is we would then paste it on there. and my mom would have to go to Toys R Us get another one of the things so that we'd go through it.

So that Bill could have his own.

So Bill could have it. I love making up Christmas.

I would color coordinate mine. This would be like red, red, yellow, green, blue, purple. And rewrite it every week. Just beautiful. Yep, I know, yeah.

Spike, your girlfriend Meg, did she let her son have his gift early or no?

No, no. She snatched it up quickly, hoping he would forget what he saw.

They don't forget. They don't. brad what's up hey first time caller mojo hey buddy what's happening man oh not much uh my boss actually was telling me the other day um he he has like a four-year-old daughter and uh they get amazon delivered to their house all the time and uh she's usually home during the day and uh she goes to open the door after amazon package got delivered and uh they didn't even put it in the amazon box it was just the the christmas gift just handed over like the lego box like so she she opened the door and there was the lego box right there on the doorstep they've gotten so

lazy with this thing like they're not even hiding i guess they have that many packages to deliver

it's hard to do that right they just threw the address right on the lego box and uh threw it on

the doorstep yeah that's the other thing too is that you want to be able to wrap it up but then and all of a sudden it's wrapped up with your address completely stuck right on the side of the thing. Tate, we are voice disguising you. What's up?

Hey, yeah, I just wanted to say that I work for Amazon, a fulfillment company, and we're told how to pack things, and sometimes it will tell you, you know, don't put it in a box. It says ship in containers. We're told to ship in containers, but especially around this time of year, if I get one of those and I think it's a gift, You know, it's not like a pack of paper towels. I definitely put it in an Amazon box. Yeah, that's smart and so appreciated. Yeah, just because that's happened to me before, you know, I bought my significant other and showed up on our doorstep.

in yeah i get it smart uh thanks for the call uh angelica what's up hi um so i used to work at amazon delivering and when i was a driver and i saw a box out of the toy box you can actually have the option to call the customer and I would do that and ask them where they wanted me to put it and so the kids wouldn't be seeing it and they thanked me so much every time for doing that during the holidays. Oh, I bet.

God, it's amazing how nice you two guys are. You guys are amazing. Why don't you deliver to my neighborhood because I feel like I get to

Hey. Hi. I was calling to tell you guys a story about one time my mom, she bought Christmas gifts early, and she bought my brother, like, a PlayStation 5. I mean, not 5.

PlayStation 3, and he used to open it when she would go to work and play it until she got home, and then he would put it back in the box and close it back up and hide it with the other gifts. Oh, yeah.

That's my boy. Yep. I love that. That is so great. And it's funny because that was actually us, too, like as kids. We would find out the hiding spot. We would play with the toys, and sometimes it's funny to even wear them, you know, if they were outfits.

Yes, he's my younger brother. So he's like, come on. You know you want to open a gift. Open a gift with me. Open a gift with me. And I'm like, no, I don't want to get in trouble.

I never, ever, ever tried to figure out what I was getting. My dad put the fear of God in us because we knew where his hiding spot was in his house. It was like upstairs in this like old cedar closet that he had. I think I've told this before. and he put a penny underneath the door that would swing open of this closet. And he warned my sisters and I, if this, I know exactly this penny's location. If it is moved at all, you don't get anything that's inside this closet for Christmas. So we were too scared.

You were the valedictorian of your school and you couldn't figure out how to replace a penny.

Dude, my dad, I was not messing with him.
