The best part of going to the company Christmas party is the dumb people in the office that need to find a new job the next day. This is Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:23 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 11:

yeah we don't have to worry about that nobody's getting fired after our company christmas party this year because guess when our christmas party begins it begins in 10 minutes from now yes our company christmas party i found this out i so i know that we're having there our um uh we're having a contest we're having a uh christmas uh sweater contest and i knew that we were having like a little lunch but i didn't realize that it all is beginning at nine o'clock this morning we're still on the radio we'll never get fired at our company christmas party because we're gonna make the company christmas party maybe we should have saved all our commercials

00:03:11 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 7:

from the whole show until the end so we can just run out there play all the commercials for 10

00:03:15 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 11:

minutes and run out there it's the earliest christmas party i think that we've ever had before and i don't know what the the reasoning is if maybe i because i think jay towers is off the air at nine o'clock maybe they did it specifically for jay but don't they know that we are on till 10 30 every single morning and the amazing part of this whole thing was like i thought that i thought they cared they loved us i thought that we were loved around

00:03:40 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 7:

well you think about there's only 10 or 12 people in in this building in detroit who have consistently been in this building every day for the last three years. Half of them are on this show, you know, the other half for management. But it seems like, yeah, with us being working, I mean, it's a half-day party. They're giving... You know what this is? I don't know if the other half of the day they get to leave or if they have to work

00:04:03 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 11:

after that. I think this is Colleen's way of doing it so that I don't have to offend Allison or something from J-Show. What do you mean? So Allison can be there for the first hour and a half i everybody always thinks that i offend allison all i do is say hi to her anytime i've ever said hi to her for some reason people think i'm offending all i'm saying hi but they think that i i don't know maybe this is their way of separating us like they're gonna have shifts it's shifts of christmas because i know that we're having lunch we're having breakfast too so i well i'm not gonna have breakfast because we're still in

00:04:36 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 1:

there till 10 30 i mean when you go to the bathroom run out and grab something on your

00:04:39 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 11:

way back i understand but i can't eat breakfast and lunch i won't be that hungry i'm on a diet

00:04:44 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 1:

I think they're going to have mimosas out there Chug

00:04:47 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 11:

They're letting us drink

00:04:48 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 7:

You've never seen Janelle show up early for work But she's out there setting up at a bar right now Is she really?

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 9:

This is amazing You said they're letting us drink like we don't have a full bar in the studio I know

00:05:00 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 5:

I know, but this is legal. Like, we can actually legally drink. Can I put this question to the listeners? Is anybody having a work Christmas party this year, or are they extinct? Because I feel like a lot of companies just wrote them off before COVID, and now that was the final nail in the coffin. Like, my girlfriend's company stopped doing them. So her and – they used to do really big, nice parties, but now her and her friend just picked up a dive bar, spread the word to show up after work. Like, they kind of created an unofficial office party later in the week because they don't have one anymore.

00:05:30 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 6:

We're not having one.

00:05:31 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 5:

No?

00:05:31 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 6:

Mm-mm.

00:05:32 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

Really? Every day is a party for you guys down in Toledo.

00:05:35 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 6:

I accidentally came up here on the right day, but if I didn't come up here today, I wouldn't be going to one this day.

00:05:39 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 4:

Every day, you and Scott and Jillian are always at that cigar bar drinking.

00:05:45 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 6:

We go to Toll House a lot. I love Toll House. Yeah. I probably shouldn't tell people that.

00:05:49 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 4:

All right, so here's the deal. So let's do the rundown here right now, because I just got this thing from the office. All right? Julie Morgan sent this out to us. the rundown of everything that's going to be happening here for this holiday party. Where the heck is it?

00:06:05 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 5:

Let's see here. And I'll give props to the local management because I'm sure they're working with whatever they got. Maybe the corporate put down the hammer and said don't spend money, don't do this and that. But I think your issue seems to be more of the timing of it that we're not getting

00:06:21 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 4:

to participate in the first half. 9 to 11.30, brunch from the Hudson Cafe. All right? We might be able to be there for the last hour If we can get our last production done I'm going to make sure I get some Hudson Cafe, I love Tom, he's great And the food's awesome 11.30 till 1, okay, this is the one I will definitely be at 11.30 till 1, lunch From Buddy's Pizza Alright, so we'll have lunch from Buddy's Here's the fun part of the thing They listed it as fun From 9.15 till 10 We're having a cooking, ornament, and decorating Contest

00:06:56 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 7:

Cookie and ornament decorating.

00:06:58 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 4:

I'm down for some cookie decorating. Wait, is that cookie or it says cooking, but I guess it's supposed to be cookie.

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 7:

Cookie and ornament decorating.

00:07:03 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 5:

Actually, I believe that was canceled if you look at the most recent schedule. Really? I love decorating. They removed the decorating part. All right. It just says 9 to 10, eat and mingle, and then fun, 10 to 11, 30, holiday karaoke.

00:07:14 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 4:

Holiday karaoke and ugly Christmas sweater contest. Oh, I love it.

00:07:21 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 1:

That I was supposed to host, and I still am, but I realized they were going to start at

00:07:25 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 4:

10 and i'm still on the air still working oh that's true and and yeah we need you not they're not pulling you away for uh for this holiday party your party you gotta you gotta we gotta have our producer um and then from 11 45 till 12 30 it's the satan rap content uh game what is this satan rap no no no that's saran rap oh saran rap game i thought i was like wait i love it we're

00:07:49 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 5:

bringing satan but i like your theme let's dress for that what is the saran rap game you've never

00:07:53 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 7:

played it oh it's seriously so fun we play it every christmas eve at my house shannon you're on the party committee aren't you you plan this party it's so fun it's a huge saran wrap ball and it's filled with all the gifts that you have to like everybody gets a term to unwrap something

00:08:06 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 5:

as other people are rolling the dice killing the planet you're using a whole roll of plastic wrap

00:08:10 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 7:

that's all my family does on christmas eve is play games and that's what's going on hannah how you

00:08:17 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

doing hey good morning everyone i'm good how are you good we're getting excited our holiday party

00:08:23 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 4:

is beginning in three minutes now. We're going to be gone for three minutes.

00:08:27 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 5:

If I want to attend the office party, do I have to submit a vacation date today?

00:08:30 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 4:

No, no, no, no. But we are going to have to come up with a bunch of recorded material to put on the radio for this. But what's up, Hannah?

00:08:40 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 3:

Hey, I just wanted to tune in about our company Christmas parties. We're having two this year, actually. I'm fairly new to my company, so I'll feel the Christmas spirit for sure.

00:08:50 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 4:

Two of them? Where are you guys having your parties?

00:08:54 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, so we had our first party back on Friday. I'm from Grand Haven, so we had it at Kirby, which that was pretty fun. And then tomorrow, we're having a building Christmas party, working in an office building. And we're having mimosas, Bloody Mary.

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 4:

Wow. What company do you work for?

00:09:13 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 3:

I work for ClickBit, so we're a software company.

00:09:16 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 4:

Man.

00:09:17 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

But, yeah, they know how to party, I guess. I love it.

00:09:20 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 5:

I've got to be honest with you, I'd rather, I mean, maybe the costs aren't equal, but we talked earlier about how people aren't getting the Christmas bonuses they used to get. I almost would rather just have them spend more money on a gathering like this and have us go somewhere and get together outside of the office.

00:09:36 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 4:

I love that idea. What's up, Sarah?

00:09:38 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 2:

Hey.

00:09:39 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's going on? What are you guys doing?

00:09:42 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

We're actually going to have like a small party ourselves. We're a small company. and so we we're just getting it catered and then we do like a little secret Santa gift because there's only 13 of us and so we pick out names and then we buy each other gifts and pass it out.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 7:

and things like that, so it's pretty nice.

00:10:02 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 3:

Sounds like fun. Tiffany, what do you guys do?

00:10:06 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 7:

Hi, I'm a store manager at a store in the mall, and I just take my employees out in January where we pick a fun venue. Last year we went bowling. A lot of companies do that.

00:10:20 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, they do it after the holiday.

00:10:21 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 3:

I like the after the holiday one because everybody's all crazy busy with their family and trying to wrap up the year.

00:10:27 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 4:

Let's be honest, a little post-holiday depression,

00:10:29 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 3:

nothing to look forward to yeah so this is pretty cool and it gives your your employees incentive

00:10:34 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 7:

to come back and work after the holidays right exactly and for us because we're so busy during the holidays that we don't we don't have any time to do anything else and it's my thank you like i pay for it myself for them as a thank you so that they feel appreciated and valued for all the hard

00:10:50 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 3:

work that they did over the holidays what store do you work at um i am the store manager for the

00:10:55 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 7:

Curcumania at Great Lakes Crossing and District. Love it. Come see us. We got buy one, get one half off going on right now.

00:11:01 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 3:

Love it. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

00:11:03 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 4:

You know who I want to work for? United Wholesale Mortgage.

00:11:06 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. Did you see? Wait, what do they do?

00:11:08 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 4:

Does Matt Ishbia have the biggest party every year?

00:11:10 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 3:

They had Dan and Shay at their holiday party.

00:11:12 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 4:

Dan and Shay and Ludacris this year. What?

00:11:16 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 6:

Can I just get a plus one?

00:11:18 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 3:

Matt Ishbia does it up right. What's up, Ellen?

00:11:22 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 5:

Hi.

00:11:23 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 3:

Hey, what are you guys doing for your holiday party?

00:11:26 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 5:

My office, what they do is take everyone up. We run a place out. We have food, and then we have a bunch of items they purchase, and we all get fake money, and it's an auction. That sounds cool. That's actually really cool. It's absolutely crazy because if two people have the same amount left and they're bidding the same amount, then the challenges break out. There's, you know, anything from, like, planks, who can hold the planks the longest, to, you know, lifting weights.

00:12:01 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. See, that would be here, too.

00:12:03 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 1:

That's me.

00:12:04 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 4:

No, but that would be here, like, we're all very competitive people in this office, so, you know. Could you imagine if they did a plank contest? Oh, my gosh. This is a double dare. Our old boss, Paul, would fly back here just to participate.

00:12:16 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 3:

That would be the shortest plank contest ever.

00:12:19 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 4:

Oh, Plank, I thought you said pancake

00:12:22 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 3:

India, what are you guys doing For your holiday party?

00:12:27 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 6:

We do a Creaster party

00:12:28 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 5:

So my manager does it in April

00:12:30 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 3:

What's a Creaster party?

00:12:33 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 5:

Like Christmas plus Easter Yeah, he does it How did you know that?

00:12:38 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 3:

Creaster

00:12:39 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 5:

Creaster in April

00:12:41 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, we definitely wait until April And we just celebrate both holidays

00:12:45 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's cool, a Creaster party I like that Oh, Spike, let's find out where Skylar works. Skylar, where do you guys go for your holiday party?

00:12:54 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 6:

So this year, my boss actually rented out a distillery.

00:12:57 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 3:

Oh, hello.

00:12:59 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I actually work at the only Jets pizza in the world that has a bar.

00:13:02 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my. Where's the place? Where is that place? Where is it?

00:13:06 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 6:

So it's in Chelsea, Michigan.

00:13:08 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 3:

And they have a bar in the Jets pizza?

00:13:10 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, we have 38 rotating craft beers on draft.

00:13:13 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 3:

Wait, this is amazing.

00:13:15 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 6:

We need field trips.

00:13:17 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I'm going to pretend I didn't already know that and I haven't had drinks at Jets Pizza and then the Grateful Crow next door.

00:13:24 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 6:

Yes, my boss also owns the Grateful Crow.

00:13:28 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 3:

Wouldn't that be amazing if all the Jets Pizzas had that, like where you could go almost like a Buddy's where you can sit down in the thing?

00:13:33 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 4:

We already have a problem with the ranch dressing.

00:13:36 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 3:

Well, listen, I'm going to tell you something. I would swim in that ranch dressing. As a matter of fact, hold on. Our holiday party is beginning in a second. along with the saran wrap contest. We're going to have a dive into a ranch dressing contest coming up here in just a little bit. All right. Excited for the holiday party. It has just begun, and we are on our way after the show's over with.

00:14:00 - 00:14:20 | Speaker 10:
