Mother's Day is Sunday. OK, so I just want everybody to know that Mother's Day is coming up and you guys need to know that you got moms that you have to at least do something to acknowledge Mother's Day. And this came up recently because I did forget Mother's Day one year. I know this is going to sound crazy to even say, because how do you forget Mother's Day? You can't turn on television, the radio or even be hanging out with friends without somebody talking about Mother's Day. I think Mother's Day might be the most commercial holiday other than Christmas. And this is going to be a complete shocker to most of you guys because you know that I come across as a very romantic guy with my wife. So one year, and this was, gosh, I don't even know how long ago it was. The kids were very little. We were going to Chicago to go and walk the Race for the Cure in Chicago on the lakefront there, right on Lakeshore Drive they had it, which was really a cool thing. And for those who don't know, I grew up in Chicago, and when I was a little kid, my mom passed away of cancer, and Race for the Cure is a cancer walk. So we were getting everybody, all my brothers and sisters, and then all the grandkids in the entire family with Aunt Pat and everybody, and we were going to go and walk in the Race for the Cure. And it was a really cool situation to do because everybody got together and, you know, put it all, you know, their thought into this. And then we were going to make a big team. Chelsea went out and did some amazing stuff. She got T-shirts made. We had a team name that was named after grandma. You know, we had everything about my mom, like on, you know, on there for the kids. And we walked the race for the cure on a Sunday morning in Chicago. Beautiful day. We get in our car to go drive back to Detroit. And as we're driving back to Detroit, somebody in the backseat, I think it was Joey or something, goes, hey, mom, happy Mother's Day. And I literally almost drove off the frickin' road. Yeah, that was not me driving off the road. That was the conversation at that particular time as we were getting on the Skyway going back from Indiana through Michigan. I forgot Mother's Day. I don't know why I didn't put two and two together That the race for the cure was over Mother's Day I thought Mother's Day was coming up And I had no clue And I completely forgot Mother's Day I didn't buy Chelsea anything I had no cards for the kids Because these kids were young at the time And they couldn't go out and buy all their gifts But the boys knew it was Mother's Day And they knew everything about Mother's Day I did not remember it was Mother's Day So I say this with great fear That it will be brought up again later today Happy Mother's Day to chelsea and all the moms we love you guys so much and don't forget mother's day but how do you forget like how does that happen and i don't know if there's any listeners that have ever forgotten somebody's you know special day mother's day father's day uh you know birthday whatever it is

00:04:52 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

but how do you go the entire day and not remember it let's put the pressure on megan's dad he forgot Got her birthday once.

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 1:

She talks about it all the time. Yes, he did. She's still in therapy for the day.

00:05:03 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 3:

Yes, I am.

00:05:05 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 1:

How old were you? Forgot the whole thing.

00:05:06 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 3:

Oh, it's happened multiple times. The best part ever was one time there was an emergency and somebody asked my dad what my date of birth was, and he really had to think about it. And then he got it wrong. So that was, I feel very loved all of the time. Yeah.

00:05:21 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 1:

I think my biggest thing when I, you know, look at dates, if it's not on Facebook, it doesn't happen. You know what I mean? Like, if a person's not on Facebook for a birthday, I don't know it's their birthday.

00:05:33 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 3:

Well, you want to know it's funny. I have the wrong birthday on my Facebook on purpose just to see who knows me and who doesn't. Wow. I like that. That's funny. I really like that. People who actually love me will text me on my birthday. People who don't will text me on the day it pops up on Facebook. Oh, my God.

00:05:47 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 2:

I have a hard time remembering Smith's birthday. And it's because he was due on June 10th. And I had that date in my head for so long. And his birthday is June 4th. but every time i'm asked for his birthday immediately june 10th pops in my head and i have to like correct myself and go no it's june 4th i'd love i'd love to know what would you do

00:06:09 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 1:

if what would you do if they if everybody forgot mother's day though would mother's day be a tough one for you i would be really really hurt yeah yeah it's like it's like the worst and imagine that i forgot mother's day and i had to drive four hours and 15 minutes because at the time that we remembered it we were about 15 minutes into the ride and it's a four and a half hour drive that was the longest what happened though after i pulled off on the side of the road at a mcdonald's and i ended up i did i was like looking for stores along the way i was like what is that uh what is the store that's along the side of the road where they have a cracker barrel i was gonna say where they have cheese uh the cracker barrel um i was like don't they have a gift shop in there did chelsea make any mention did she like a huh or did she say oh no no no she no she she definitely it came up i think the reason why it came up so much too was not even so much that was that she put so much thought into yes being special for for you know doing it special for you know me and my brothers and sisters with like the shirts and things like that uh what's up Madison, how you doing?

00:07:16 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 5:

I'm good. How are you?

00:07:17 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 1:

Good. What's going on?

00:07:19 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 5:

So, question. Do you celebrate the pregnant moms on Mother's Day? I think you should. Oh, I think so.

00:07:25 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

Why do you ask that?

00:07:27 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 5:

Because I said that to my fiance, and he was like, once you birth my child, I'll celebrate you.

00:07:32 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 2:

No, I definitely, you're becoming a mom. You're a mom. You're getting a new fiance.

00:07:37 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 1:

By the way, I would not marry that man until he retracted that. That was bad.

00:07:41 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 5:

I'm hoping he hears this.

00:07:43 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. What's his name?

00:07:45 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 3:

Brandon.

00:07:45 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 1:

Brandon, you big effing dummy, you.

00:07:48 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 3:

When we podcast this, grab it off the free iHeartRadio app and just text it to him. You stupid, ignorant son of a bitch, dumb bastard.

00:07:59 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 1:

Diana, what's up?

00:08:02 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 6:

Hi. First time caller, long time listener. Hi. Diana's on a boat.

00:08:07 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

What's happening?

00:08:08 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 6:

so i'm from california and 10 years ago i was hosting a party um for mother's day we celebrate mother's day in the hispanic culture on the 10th and so we went and had a big barbecue my aunt my grandma my mother and all the moms sister-in-law and my brothers and everybody forgot to get me anything because i hosted it and they're like at the end of the night oh shoot Diane, you're a mom. Happy Mother's Day.

00:08:36 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. That's brutal. By the way, I did not know that... I didn't either. Mexicans celebrate a different day than everybody else.

00:08:45 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 6:

Same with England.

00:08:46 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

Really?

00:08:46 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:08:47 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

I did not know that.

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 6:

It's on the 10th.

00:08:49 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 1:

That's cool. Well, you know, that's what I should have told Chelsea when we were trying. Tia, what's up, Tia?

00:08:56 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 4:

Hi.

00:08:57 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 1:

Hey, what's going on?

00:08:58 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

So, my fiance forgot our anniversary this year. So I waited until, like, 11.59 at night. And I waited just until that time because I was trying to see if he remembered throughout the day. But then, like, at that time, he let me know, like, oh, wait, no, I was waiting because we got a new anniversary this year because we get married in August.

00:09:20 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. That's a bad excuse.

00:09:23 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 1:

At 11.59.

00:09:24 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 2:

A decent save.

00:09:25 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 1:

That is a very manipulative thing to do, though, to wait until 11.59. For sure. Let me ask you, what time did you guys finally fall asleep after the discussion about this?

00:09:36 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 4:

Mine was a little bit closer, like two. His was probably 12. So he's really good at falling asleep. Wait a second.

00:09:42 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

He just fell asleep, that big dummy. Oh, my God. Thank you for the call. What's up, Amy?

00:09:48 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 5:

Hi.

00:09:49 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

Hey, what's going on?

00:09:50 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 5:

I was just telling the screener.

00:09:54 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 1:

Literally?

00:09:56 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Yeah, my husband and stepkids forgot. Mother's Day on my birthday. Oh, yeah. How did that happen? So, today is my birthday. Happy birthday.

00:10:11 - 00:10:12 | Unknown:

Happy birthday.

00:10:13 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 5:

Every couple of years, it falls on Mother's Day. And it completely got forgotten, both of them, on the same day. Damn. When did they realize it? When I told them. Wow. But it was that day or was it the next day? Oh, yeah. I couldn't have held my tongue that long. Yeah.

00:10:37 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Man, well, we're wishing you a happy birthday.

00:10:42 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 4:

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear darling. Happy birthday to you.

00:10:56 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 3:

And I think he wants to wish you a happy Mother's Day, too. Happy Mother's Day, too. All right?

00:11:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 5:

Thank you.

00:11:01 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 3:
