Mojo in the morning show. So I don't know what this is. Maybe this is a generational thing, but Megan, you were out to eat with Jillian, your bestie. And there was something that happened during the lunch, but there's something that didn't happen.

00:02:51 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. So you ever get so hungry that you guys won't even shut up with your friends until you actually get food? because we were just like i'm so hungry i'm so hungry let's go get food okay i'm starving i'm gonna eat appetizers we're gonna order 17 drinks and um 36 appetizers and at least four courses and definitely a dessert or two we just would not shut up about how hungry we were so we went out we got some food and about halfway through i noticed jillian just like stops eating and i was like well pump the brakes here i thought we were being fatties today so let's keep going and um She said, I can't finish this. I said, well, what happened? What happened to your food? She goes, there's a hair in my food. Oh, gross. That's so gross. Don't worry. I'll call the server over here and we'll get you something new. And immediately she throws her hands on the table and she was like, don't you tell the server that anything is wrong with this. So what do you mean? Don't tell the server. There's hair in your food. We'll get you new food. It's fine. Like I worked at a restaurant. Like the server's not going to care. They want you to be happy. They want a tip. So they just want to fix it I can't tell her I just can't do it It's giving me too much anxiety I can't tell her that anything's wrong It's fine I don't need to keep eating I'll just pick up something else on the way home This girl would rather stop at a fast food restaurant On her way home from the restaurant that we were currently eating at Than telling the server that there was a hair in her food And she was like I don't want to cause any problems

00:04:18 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 6:

What is I gotta tell you something I see that more and more How old is she? 20?

00:04:24 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 5:

20 24. She's 24.

00:04:27 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 6:

I see that more and more.

00:04:29 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 5:

I know. But here's the thing. I get it too because I would never ever ever ever send my coffee back when they put actual milk in it. I will go thank you for the six hours I will be spending in the bathroom today. I will drink this coffee with happiness and I will not tell you that I asked for oat milk. Thank you. I would also still eat the meal after I

00:04:46 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 6:

removed the hair. In most cases

00:04:48 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 5:

unless it looks like a pube. I just assume there's always hair in my food.

00:04:52 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 6:

I assume everything's a pube and I just eat it anyway

00:04:55 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 5:

I'm hungry

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

I take it out, put it on the side of the dish

00:04:59 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

That's it

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 3:

just hope that it was heated hot enough to kill any germs. One time I had

00:05:04 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 9:

a hair in my food that was a gray hair and I pulled it out of my mouth and for some reason I was like this could be the end

00:05:10 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 7:

and I could be okay with it. I once found a tooth in my bread lest we not forget that story. Oh, that's right. Hair is nothing. You did? Yes. In the crust. Baked in the crust of the bread. Okay? It was years ago and I have not forgotten. I literally check the crust of my bread with every sandwich I eat.

00:05:27 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 5:

If I was at that restaurant when that happened to you, I would say that you're the winner. I would just be like, oh, my God, you won the prize as a way to get you to not complain. Yeah, we put that in there for a free gift certificate. Here's the thing that's interesting, though, that I see is I see people that will, like yourself, Megan, you don't get what you want, you know, and then you'll just do it anyway. But you don't, you won't do it verbally to them personally, but you'll go and you'll post on social media.

00:05:53 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 9:

100%.

00:05:53 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 5:

Or do a bad Yelp review. That's correct. Like, you'll spend the time Yelp reviewing them instead of giving them a chance to fix the thing.

00:05:59 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 9:

A hundred percent, because that's not face-to-face confrontation.

00:06:03 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 5:

But that's worse for them than if you just said, hey, I'm sorry, can you remake another food for me without hair in it? Oh, no.

00:06:10 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 8:

I think Jillian's mad at me for talking about this. Why?

00:06:15 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 3:

It's in your rights as a customer when you order something to expect food to be good. Now you have to handle it nicely and politely, which I know you two girls would. But you can't be a Karen about it. But they're not going to be mad at you for wanting a new dish.

00:06:27 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, but if I give you a bad Yelp review afterwards, you can't spit my food when I reorder it.

00:06:32 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 3:

No, but that's not the way to handle it. Like, handle it in the moment. They'd be glad to make you a new dish. Don't just go home and trash them because accidents happen. You don't want to, like, just because someone accidentally got a hair in your food, try and ruin the restaurant's business for life.

00:06:44 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 9:

Right. I don't know if you saw this documentary. It's called Waiting. And any time they had food sent back, I saw them do pretty terrible things.

00:06:53 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 2:

Do you think this is the reverse or opposite effect of canceling, like cancel culture? Like that we're so scared that people are going to do stuff to our stuff because we are so quick to cancel everything?

00:07:04 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 3:

No, I feel like Generation Z and millennials have been this way for a while, even before all the canceling and stuff. I feel like there's less confrontation. That's exactly it. Yeah.

00:07:15 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

Like, oh, I don't want to bother them. I don't want to make a big scene.

00:07:19 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

What's up, Katie?

00:07:20 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 6:

so i'm a groomer and you know we bring a lot of ditches in to share whatever and we'll find dog food and we'll just be like oh it's no big deal we just push it aside and we pick it out but if we find a somebody's hair from that like a person's hair we're like uh-uh can't do it

00:07:43 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 5:

isn't that funny yeah it's funny it's true yeah you're more apt to to be fine eating dog hair

00:07:51 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 3:

than eating a human hair now let me flip this to katie as a peck rumor because i imagine your business and hairstylists wouldn't you rather have a customer just say nope this isn't how i wanted it and you can get an opportunity to fix it instead of them just ignoring it and then going telling

00:08:06 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 6:

100 people later they messed it up oh absolutely no we're super appreciative when when they tell us because it's like now we know for in the future and we like tips yeah so see that megan

00:08:22 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 5:

that's nice she doesn't care no i don't care about anybody selena hi what's up i oh so i work

00:08:33 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 1:

customer service and that's like the thing we hope for most that somebody tells us that we don't hope for it but we're like we're so appreciative of somebody bringing us the problem and letting us fix it than telling everybody that we're terrible give us a chance to show us our awesome customer service

00:08:54 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 5:

Megan you gotta end that comment by saying Megan with a mean voice like that

00:09:01 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 8:

I want it to be clear I didn't write a review. I haven't mentioned the restaurant. That wasn't my plan. I just wasn't going to tell you that there was a hair in it either. I don't get

00:09:09 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 5:

you guys also that you sit there yapping with each other nonstop and not eating

00:09:13 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 7:

your food. No, they were waiting for their

00:09:15 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 5:

food to come out. No, but you say, but you didn't you say that when the food comes to you don't go, like I dive right into it. Wait

00:09:21 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 3:

a minute, but Mojo, you're the one that always asks us a big question and then you eat your whole meal while we have to talk. So true.

00:09:26 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 8:

And then I have to get a box for the food that I want to eat that I don't have time to eat because we have to leave. I have a new

00:09:33 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 5:

thing now if i go to lunch with people i call it quiet lunches i tell them i said let's just be quiet the whole time we'll just eat in each other's presence because i want to eat my food i think

00:09:41 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 8:

you're just trying to get out of going to lunch with people pretty much what's up alicia hi

00:09:46 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

hey guys how are you good what's going on um good so i own um a small boba shop in downtown on Ferndale and what Megan had said about leaving a Yelp review.

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 7:

for us small business owners it sucks like i i i'm a millennial so i absolutely understand the anxiety i was telling kp that like i would so much rather order a pizza over the internet and

00:10:12 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 8:

not talk to anybody at all 100 if somebody sorry what'd you say yeah for small businesses or any businesses in general i would never leave a negative review i would go to my grave before ruining somebody's business because so many people go to google read one bad review and then go well I won't try that. So I would much rather just throw it away.

00:10:35 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 7:

It's so unfortunate because if it's something that we can fix as small business owners, I had somebody, you know, one time they had a small hair in a drink. We remade it for them. I want them to have a good experience when they're here with us. And obviously, like, if there's a hair in their drink, it's not a good experience. That's the last thing that they're going to think about when they think about my shop. One time we had, you know, like a syrup pump break, and we had no idea. that somehow ended up in somebody's drink, and they brought it to us. They're like, there's this piece of plastic in here. Had we not known, like, we would have continued, like, if we didn't see that piece, we would have continued serving this. So thankfully that person had said something. But, you know, like, you know, where all human mistakes happen, and I'm not saying that, like, you guys did anything wrong by not saying anything. But for us business owners, it's like a nice guide for us to, like, oh, well, we should fix this, and we should fix that type thing, if that helps.

00:11:28 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 5:

Thank you. Hopefully she learns her lesson.

00:11:34 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 8:

Me? What are you talking about? Why are you just like literally dragging me after every call? I'm joking.

00:11:41 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 5:

I'm joking. Megan doesn't even have Yelp.

00:11:44 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, no.

00:11:45 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 5:

Bill, what did you find in your glass of milk?

00:11:49 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 6:

I was a quarter glass of milk, and I saw something on my court of my eye. I didn't pay that much attention. Went to drink the glass of milk And the last drink Find something in my mouth Pull it out It's a fake nail That's about three inches long Wow With diamonds on it

00:12:07 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 5:

With diamonds on it You win

00:12:09 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 6:

Oh we got diamonds on it Megan That's funny Congratulations

00:12:12 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 5:

No extra charge Wait

00:12:14 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 6:

The bottom side is all dirty And sandy and disgusting Was it

00:12:18 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 5:

Wait Was it something from The milk plant Or was it Probably whoever washed the dishes Where was it at Was this at your home, or where was this?

00:12:28 - 00:12:32 | Speaker 6:

This was at home, a gallon of milk. Oh. Oh, God.

00:12:33 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 5:

So do you live with a woman that might have a nail like that, or do you think it came from the place that you got your milk?

00:12:42 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 6:

Not my wife. She does not have fake nails.

00:12:45 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 5:

She doesn't have fake nails. Wait, can you imagine, though, if your wife thought that you had a girl over and that nail came from that girl? I would be more pissed.

00:12:52 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 2:

That would be the craziest story. if it was a fake nail found in a gallon of milk.

00:12:56 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Right?

00:12:58 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 6:

She's probably been pretty hot, but she was there.

00:13:01 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 5:

That's a war of the roses, by the way. Found the fake nail. Your wife calls us up. Were you sending the roses to, pal? We're going to find out there.

00:13:10 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 8:

This is why we don't drink milk.

00:13:12 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 4:

No one's ever going to believe you found a nail in your milk.

00:13:15 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 5:

I swear to you, this is not the girl I was cheating with. You tell that milk-drinking girl.
