All right, it is the Mojo in the Morning show. Kev was reminiscing back looking at some old costumes that he wore when he was a kid. Yeah. Did you look at some of them and go, wow, man, that was like the coolest thing ever? Or what was it?

00:01:49 - 00:02:14 | Speaker 4:

Sometimes. I had a few good ones. I remember we used to go to church a lot. We used to go to this church on the west side across the street from this school called Renaissance. And it's a church called Westminster. And they used to throw these Halloween bangers. And they used to have, like, haunted houses in the basement. It was all crazy and stuff. And my mama made me dress up as Noah one year. And I lost. I'm like, I'm Noah. How can I lose?

00:02:14 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 5:

Noah like Noah's art?

00:02:15 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 4:

Like Noah's art. Yeah, at a church event, you still lose. I'm still sick about that.

00:02:19 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 5:

You lost the costume contest.

00:02:20 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 4:

I know, bro. And you dressed as a religious figure. i had the staff i was spartan seas like it was lit but we she showed me this um this costume that i had and obviously like i was super young like younger than josiah is right now at 11 like i had to be like six or something something like that and i went to this head start program called roberson and at the time it was like this boy band imx they called them immature they were like a big boy band wait why do i know that yeah because you know good music shannon outside of your lack of taste for maxwell that's a whole new story so i am marcus houston if y'all remember his name oh yeah yes he was a part of yes oh my gosh yeah yeah so it was three guys and marcus houston was one of them and they had these names whatever like that one of the guys names was batman and myself and two other guys were going to be imx and i told my mom like yeah mom it's gonna be me and so and so And I'm going to be Batman Like I need to dress up She buys me like The legitimate Batman costume And she has me in these pictures With these two guys And they got like Band-Aids under their eyes The backwards jerseys at the time I'm supposed to be Batman Not like the literal Batman Not the Dark Knight But like the character You know what I'm saying I'm totally Marcus Houston

00:03:41 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 5:

I would have made that same mistake though Come on

00:03:44 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 4:

Same I ruined it

00:03:46 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 5:

When you showed up Well, first off, when you tried the costume on, or saw the costume, were you like, Mom,

00:03:50 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 4:

this ain't the Batman? No. I guess in my brain, I didn't know what was going on either. I was just happy I saw a Batman costume, and it was fire. Two of them, little things. It was nice.

00:04:00 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 5:

You know what's funny? Can I tell you the funniest thing is? Looking back at your old costumes that you had when you were a kid, and going, I can't believe my mom let me walk out of the house like that, you know? Obviously, Batman was a legit costume, but it wasn't what it was supposed to be. When you look at some of these old costumes, you're like, what the hell?

00:04:16 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 6:

When I think about my mom, and God love her, dance recital costumes were so expensive. And so whenever we could, she would make us wear a dance recital costume and repurpose it into a Halloween costume. But I look at some of those dance recital costumes, and I'm like, they're so not appropriate whatsoever.

00:04:34 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

Like leotard vibes?

00:04:36 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, just like little booty, like booty short. Yes, all of it.

00:04:41 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it was pretty crazy. Well, share with us at 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. What's the craziest costume that you ever wore as a kid?

00:04:51 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 4:

The internet cooking our iHeartRadio buddy, DJ Envy, right now. Why? Having his daughter dress up as Lil' Kim.

00:04:57 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 6:

Okay.

00:04:58 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 4:

Oh, really?

00:04:59 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 6:

I. I saw, I saw, she has to be maybe eight years old, maybe eight years old. That costume is, I, what are your thoughts on it? That was a lot. It was a lot.

00:05:10 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 4:

I think, shout out to Lil' Kim. Obviously, she alleged. I didn't see it. For an eight-year-old, I don't know. He just sent it to the group chat. Oh, my God.

00:05:17 - 00:05:18 | Unknown:

Are you guys taking pictures?

00:05:19 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 4:

No, we're doing a video.

00:05:20 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 5:

She's about to do the whole video. Keep FaceTime and Lil' Kim. Wait, how, oh, wow. Listen, I can't take this.

00:05:25 - 00:05:25 | Unknown:

Look at this.

00:05:26 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God.

00:05:27 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 4:

Shall I proceed?

00:05:28 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 6:

Yes, yes.

00:05:30 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

And they do the whole question of your video. How old is the kid? She's super young. I don't know.

00:05:34 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 6:

What do you think?

00:05:34 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 5:

I don't know.

00:05:35 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 6:

Seven, eight?

00:05:36 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 5:

That's actually funny. And the little kid knows who little Kim is. Oh, yeah.

00:05:40 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 4:

The production quality was there. The whole family recreated the video. Oh, it was fantastic. A lot of people are saying like eight years old, little Kim. Really? Saying the lyrics she's saying, it might not have been the best choice.

00:05:49 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 5:

That's crazy. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I send you guys the picture of me dressed up in my mom. my mom had her wig because she had cancer so I had a wig of hers and I had her dress and all that stuff my buddy Steve Gorski wait which one is you?

00:06:06 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 6:

that's Steve Gorski right next to you?

00:06:08 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 5:

that's Steve Gorski right next to me and he's dressed as his mom the funniest was people thought that we were my mom Pat and his mom Teresa you look like Laverne Shirley well we walked around the neighborhood they thought that we were the parents taking the kids around taking the kids around trick or treating

00:06:21 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 6:

well look at how tall you are you are two feet taller than all three kids

00:06:27 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

in front of you That's so funny to look at these photos and see these guys What's up Alexis, how you doing?

00:06:33 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 7:

Hi, I'm good, how are you?

00:06:34 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 5:

Good, what's going on?

00:06:36 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 7:

Hi, I used to dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow From up until I got the costume Until I grew out I even used to put mascara on my face To make a beard and goatee and everything

00:06:46 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 5:

That was the only costume that you ever got from your parents Was that same costume

00:06:49 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 7:

Actually I got it from my grandma And I was obsessed with it So I wore it until I grew out of it

00:06:55 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 5:

It's funny though because when you're a kid isn't that funny you would have the same costume year after year and sometimes like nowadays no kid would ever wear the same costume year after year after year what's up amy hi hi good morning

00:07:08 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

good morning um my mom used to make art costumes every year and one year i was a pizza with a piece missing and my best friend was the piece um i was my phantom of the opera phase i was half Christine half the phantom. She made me a crane. Like, you know, the crane machines. I was a toy inside of the crane machine. So I had a lot of crazy ones.

00:07:31 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

What a creative mom. Chops to her. Have you ever, Shannon, as a mom, have you ever made a costume for your kids?

00:07:39 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 6:

I mean, Lucy's costume this year, I say I made it with the help of Etsy and FedEx office. But I'm trying to think. I mean, I've put together stuff, but nothing that creative by any means like that's no that's incredible lucy was uh jackie kennedy one year that was probably my favorite costume that she ever had and like putting that

00:08:00 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 5:

together and making that was really that was a great costume i remember that one what's going

00:08:04 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

on juliana hey good morning guys good morning so when i was a child i wanted to think out of the and my costume of choice was a kitchen table. So my mom made me, she took one of the big TV boxes from the old TVs back in the day, made me a kitchen table, and my head was the centerpiece.

00:08:26 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 5:

Oh, buddy. By the way, that had to be a tough one to walk around the neighborhood in.

00:08:33 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 2:

It was terrible. My arms were like SpongeBob SquarePants. I could not reach my bag. Like, I just had one little grocery bag in my one little arm. It was horrible, but everybody loved it. I got pictures with everyone. It was great. Everybody was like, that's so different. I love that you chose a kitchen table.

00:08:57 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 6:

Why?

00:08:58 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 5:

I don't know if she chose that. Tracy, what's going on?

00:09:02 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 3:

So I took dance at a dance studio in the 80s, and they thought it would be really great if we did like a dedication to Beverly Hills Cop and at 14 years old, they dressed half of us up as hookers and half of us up as cops and we performed that in the dance room.

00:09:23 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 6:

Wow.

00:09:24 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 3:

Oh my God.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 6:

And all the parents were okay with that?

00:09:28 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 3:

You know what? They were, which is shocking.

00:09:30 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah. In the 80s. Yeah, but you look back on it and go, How did that happen?

00:09:37 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 5:

I sent you the picture of the kid that was at one of the schools here in the area that was dressed up as Trump and he had all of his buddies as the Secret Service.

00:09:45 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 4:

I was shocked the school let him do it. One of my boys, I was looking on Instagram stories yesterday, Chris, he dressed up as Trump's ear. He had like a literal ear costume with like a patch with blood on it on the side of him. That is... By the way, that is very creative. What's going on? Who is this on the phone with us? Twyla. Twyla. Hi, Twyla. Is that how it... Would you have said Twyla off of how she spelled it up there? It looked like it spelled like a song. Really? T-W-L-R-Y-L-A. Is that how you spell it? Every syllable. I did not know how to say that name. I'm sorry. I was going to say T-W-L-Y-A. There you go.

00:10:27 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 6:

No, voicemail say Twila.

00:10:30 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 4:

Twila. What's going on?

00:10:34 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 6:

My mom used to call us, used to dress us up, and we didn't have a lot of money, and so she would put all this makeup on us and put our hair up crazy and put on, like, fishnets and say, oh, you are, you're punk rockers. But my sister and I got older, we're like, no, we're out here looking like prostitutes.

00:10:53 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 4:

That's funny. When kids go, what are you?

00:10:57 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 6:

and you still like that whole random stick that's awesome

00:11:04 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 4:

we love you Twyla take care of yourself

00:11:06 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 6:

have a great day

00:11:27 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 1:
