mojo in the morning you're a doo-doo hat

00:02:40 - 00:03:18 | Unknown:

it's showtime We'll be right back.

00:03:18 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 6:

Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. It is so good to have you with us today. It's War of the Roses Thursdays at 7 o'clock. A wife suspects that her newlywed husband of only, like, three weeks is already cheating. Okay. I feel like Vonda. Okay.

00:04:02 - 00:04:03 | Unknown:

Okay.

00:04:03 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

Yes. Make sure you're listening coming up at 7 o'clock this morning here on the show for that. Oh, my God, I'm telling you, when you hear his reaction to us calling, I think that that's going to be the thing that will set you off. So stick around. Also this morning on the show, Taylor Swift tickets will have those for you coming up in like the next 15 or so minutes. We have Jonas Brothers tickets next hour. And then we've got a big one today. Shannon is going to be taking on Aiden in our five at 655. Smarter than Shannon, which for those that don't know, we go with the 5 of 6.55 with a champion getting a chance to play up to 15 wins. If they make 15 wins, then they hit the peak, the pinnacle. It's like their World Series, their Super Bowl, their Stanley Cup. And then they get to.

00:05:00 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 3:

play one extra contest and they play against shannon of course every day you hear her do the dirty on the 30 but back before it was called the five at 655 we called it smarter than shannon and it was a contest where we had listeners just like we do with the five of 655 play against shannon and not another listener and it got to be so boring because shannon would beat the you know what out of all these listeners like it got to be a point where i think that the that you had less than double digit win uh or losses like i think you had only like you had seven losses in the time you did it but you had like over a thousand wins it was just it was crazy

00:05:43 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 2:

do you believe this it's funny because i get kind of nervous when i actually have to play again

00:05:49 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 3:

yeah well i really really do you you don't seem like you do uh get nervous because you keep on

00:05:54 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 2:

winning you just win win win win you know who i heard yesterday i heard from yesterday was so if you haven't been following along with aiden he's in high school and we we've only had one other high school student who has beat me in smarter than stan and that is the legendary matt wood and matt reached out to me yesterday and said jan you know you need to study up on your sports your sports knowledge because that's where mojo is going to try to hit you hard and i don't know i I love that he was trying to give me some advice on what to study.

00:06:23 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

Not only sports knowledge, but- Rappers. Anything to do with a rapper. That's right. For some reason, you know-

00:06:30 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 2:

I choke, big time.

00:06:32 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 3:

You know not much about sports and rappers. That's correct. Although it could have changed over time because now you're hanging out with new people. You got a new fiance. I don't know. Maybe he's in the rap music. Didn't you say one time to me before that you hate his music because it's-

00:06:48 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 2:

It's like old school 90s.

00:06:49 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 3:

He likes 90s hip-hop, and you, for some reason, were coming down on him for having a bad taste in music, which is good music.

00:06:57 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 2:

I said he listened to a different radio station, and that's why I was coming down on him. All right.

00:07:03 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

We're going to have to talk about that guy.

00:07:05 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 2:

Right.

00:07:06 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

Listening to a different radio station. What kind of a guy are you there, Wes? No support.

00:07:11 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 2:

Dickhead.

00:07:13 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 3:

All right. We'll play coming up here at 55 after the hour, so 6.55. Megan had a really rough night last night. It sounds to me like, Megan, you were up pretty much a decent portion of the night after having a horrible nightmare.

00:07:31 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I'm really frustrated because I love sleeping more than anything in the entire world. If you know me, you know that's probably the truest thing I'll ever say. And I love it partly because I love to ignore my real-life responsibilities, but also because I get to have the most amazing, vivid dreams nearly every night. And I don't really get bad dreams, except for this one that I just had. Like, I could not believe how terrifying this nightmare was. So let me set the scene for you. Perfect. Except this is too happy and too pleasant. I need more, like, horror music for this one.

00:08:07 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

Okay. All right. Hold on a second.

00:08:08 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

Now, there's two parts to this story. Yeah, perfect. Actually, that sound effect, keep it on standby. We're going to need it later. So to make it really brief and really short, I had gone to some sort of like shopping mall. You know when you feel like you're in a place but you don't really see it? It's like in a shopping mall. And I was trying to pay for something. And in my purse, my credit card and my license are always next to each other. And this guy comes up behind me. And he's also an actor who I've seen in 8 Million Things. could not tell you who he is or what he's been in, but the next time I see him, I will be triggered. He comes up behind me and he grabs me like around the waist and I'm thinking, this is going to be fun. Uh, cause again, pretty early on in the dream. Fun like as

00:08:52 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 3:

in fun? Fun.

00:08:54 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 1:

Like fun, right? Because it's early on in the dream. I didn't know the sharp left turn we were about to take. Um, he steals my license and I looked at him and I was like, hey dummy, I've been trying to steal my money and took the wrong card. And he was, he, It was like, he didn't talk to me, but he looked at me like, no, this is the one I wanted, and he ran away. And I was very creeped out by this. And I realized, oh, he has my address.

00:09:19 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 3:

Oh.

00:09:20 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 1:

That's where we were in the dream.

00:09:21 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 3:

This is all going on in this dream.

00:09:22 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 1:

Okay. Cut to the next part of the dream. You know how we, like, jump cut? Like, it's a movie, next scene. I'm sleeping on a mattress in my garage of my childhood home.

00:09:33 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:09:33 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Which is actually right down the street from the home you live in now. No. Oh, the one that my dad sold that I grew up in. Oh, that one. Okay, okay, okay. So I'm in the garage, sleeping next to a person, a girl. I don't know who she is, but I'm comfortable with her in the dream. I hate when that happens. And I said, somebody's here. Check the door, the door to the driveway. And she was like, it's unlocked. And I go, somebody's here to murder us.

00:10:00 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 2:

and I go into the house and immediately say we need to get some knives, like we should go to the butcher block and get some knives to defend ourselves. I think we're about to be murdered, so we're walking down the hallway from the garage to the kitchen, and we're trying to be extra quiet, right, and I just have this weird feeling, and we get to the butcher block, and there are no knives in the butcher block, and I start checking all the drawers that we had our silverware in, no sharp knives anywhere and I swear to God you guys all of a sudden running at me full speed was this man two butcher knives in his hands and he's about to murder me and I know that dreams get super weird sometimes and you move super super slow and it feels like I'm running through quicksand because that was I feel like I'm living

00:10:46 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 4:

this dream with her right now don't you guys

00:10:48 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 2:

we're almost to the end I promise you I feel like I'm running and all of a sudden his arm is in the air his knife is in his hands And I'm realizing I'm dreaming and I'm like telling myself, wake up, wake up. You need to wake up. You're about to be killed in this dream. You need to wake up. You have to wake yourself up. And as like the knife is coming down, I'm able to wake myself up. But it's one of those like I woke up and I'm sweating and I'm panting. Like this is real life you woke up? Yes. And then immediately I go, well, that's a sign I'm about to be murdered in this house. So it's 1 o'clock in the morning, 12.30, 1 o'clock in the morning. And I go, you know what the proper thing to do is now? Get out of bed, check the window locks, the door locks, my house alarm, and prepare for a fight. So I went through my entire house. I pulled out every window. I checked every door. I reset my alarm on my house. And then I grabbed a knife from my kitchen, a butcher knife, and I touched with it the remainder of my night on my bedside table.

00:11:51 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 4:

So the dream was so realistic, it got you to actually go get a knife and put it next to your bed when you woke up from this dream.

00:12:01 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, because I thought my body was telling me, almost like a premonition, I was about to be murdered. Wow. So the only way to defend yourself is immediately go back to sleep. Just put a knife, easily accessible, on your bedside table where anybody could reach it if they were trying to kill you because you're a heavy sleeper.

00:12:15 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 4:

So when you woke up from this, you know, from going back to bed, finally, when you woke up and saw that knife there, was it just like freaky to see a knife just sitting there right on your nightstand?

00:12:27 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 2:

A part of me laughed at myself like, you idiot, what did you think you were going to do? But at the time, I just kept thinking, if I don't go back to bed now, this is going to be an even bigger problem. So if this lets you fall back asleep, just put the knife on your bedside table.

00:12:42 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 4:

What did you eat last night before bed?

00:12:46 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 1:

How many gummies?

00:12:47 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 2:

Nine. Two, three, or four? Nine. I had some chicken nuggies. Oh, okay.

00:12:52 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

That's what I was going towards more so than gummies. Because for some reason, if I eat really crappy the night before I go to bed, I have the worst nightmares.

00:13:00 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:13:00 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 4:

I don't know what the story is. If I decide that we're going to do a DoorDash fast food run or something like that, or if I go back to the kitchen and grab something else and try to eat that right before bed, I get really, really freaking- Bad dreams. Bad dreams.

00:13:16 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 1:

I hate those dreams that I wake up and I can feel it in my chest. Yeah. You know, you still have the feeling that you had in a dream and it sounds like that's exactly what you were experiencing. Absolutely.

00:13:25 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 4:

You know what's wild about this is that you know a dream is really, really bad. And I don't know if any other listeners have done the same thing too. Have you ever woke up and you had like a weapon with you next to yourself in bed because your dream was so bad you got up in the middle of the night to get something to protect yourself? And sometimes the weapon is kind of funny. Like it's not really going to protect you. I'd love to know what your weapon of choice was. But, Ian, what did you want to say to Megan?

00:13:50 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 5:

Megan, I just want to say, what if that was you in an alternate universe? Like, you just witnessed yourself being murdered in a different universe.

00:13:57 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 2:

What a wonderful thing to think about. Thank you so much. Have a great morning, Ian. No problem. Thank you.

00:14:04 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 4:

You know what's wild? It's wild when you sit there and you have these dreams and they happen to you and then they come in bunches. Are you worried that you go to bed tonight? You might have this guy show up in your dream again.

00:14:15 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, because you know what dreams I normally have? I can control my own flying. It's amazing. I love it. I have happy, pleasant, vivid dreams. Now, I feel like my favorite thing in the world, sleeping, has been ruined. I'm scared to do my favorite thing now. Yeah.

00:14:31 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 4:

That's amazing you were able to fall back asleep after that.

00:14:34 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 2:

Well, that's a skill set I'll never give up.

00:14:36 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 4:

Sometimes those are the hardest ones to fall asleep from are the ones you just had. Dave, what's happening? How are you doing?

00:14:42 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 3:

Morning, everybody.

00:14:44 - 00:14:45 | Speaker 4:

Dave, you had a freaky dream.

00:14:46 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

Worst dream ever. Woke up in the morning, and I had, I walked at my own funeral. You're kidding. Not a joke. So, walked into the funeral, I was literally sitting in the corner.

00:15:00 - 00:15:19 | Speaker 6:

in a chair with a glass full of Fireball just in sunglasses. I walked in, I looked at everything. I'm like, cool. Walked over, stand inside my body, watched the whole thing, put a USB in the speaker system, told everybody, that's how it works. Don't cry, no pity party. We had a good life, let's party.

00:15:19 - 00:15:21 | Speaker 2:

Oh, what song did you play? What song did you play? Fireball.

00:15:22 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 9:

He played Fireball by Pitbull, right?

00:15:23 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 2:

No, he said he had Fireball.

00:15:25 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 6:

A glass of Fireball.

00:15:27 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 9:

No, I know, but I'm saying you got to have Fireball from Pitbull

00:15:29 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 6:

playing in the background fireball thing fine but just laughed it was a party they threw us out

00:15:35 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 5:

these are so fast like i would love to get like a a dream reader to read these like these dreams in general are fascinating i don't know where they come from or why they happen but no clue

00:15:46 - 00:16:02 | Speaker 9:

what were you drinking before bed that night nothing i was sick as a dog oh really well there you go you know that happens to you right well even just being sick too just having that in your system sometimes causes you to get nightmares uh jackie what's going on oh yeah

00:16:02 - 00:16:25 | Speaker 8:

i have nightmares very similar to megan's a lot yeah um but the only problem is when i wake up i wish i woke up like panicked because i wake up in sleep paralysis and so then i just lay there after the nightmare trying to like scream to wake myself the rest of the way up and i just feel somebody like staring at me from behind me oh that's fun yeah those are so scary do you do you

00:16:25 - 00:16:30 | Speaker 9:

have your bed positioned so that nobody can get behind the bed like is it pushed up against the

00:16:30 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 8:

wall one side yeah i have one side against the wall but it's annoying if you wake up facing the wall because then you could just like feel like you hear somebody behind you yeah that's weird

00:16:40 - 00:17:12 | Speaker 7:

mojo in the morning what's going on autumn hey so this morning my fiance woke up about an hour before i needed to go to work and he was like in a deep sweat and he was breathing heavy and i asked And I was like, hey, what's going on? Because obviously it woke me up. And he told me, he said, if I ever ask you to stay put, will you make sure that you don't move? I was like, what do you mean? He was like, if you, if I tell you to stay somewhere, stay somewhere because you're going to die. And I was like, oh my goodness.

00:17:13 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 9:

Have a great day. That was how he told you as, man. I was like, great.

00:17:21 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 7:

Now I have to go to work in an hour and hope that I'm good.

00:17:24 - 00:17:30 | Speaker 9:

Yes. You know what? Did he tell you exactly how? Like in the dream? Did it show him?

00:17:31 - 00:17:37 | Speaker 7:

No, I think that we were in the car and he told me to stay there. But me being me, I'm like, no, I'm good. I'm going to come with you.

00:17:37 - 00:17:44 | Speaker 9:

Oh, my gosh. That's no way to send your girl off to work. Then he went right back to bed.

00:17:44 - 00:17:48 | Speaker 7:

Have a great day, right? Oh, my gosh. Well, you guys have a good one.

00:17:48 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 9:

You too. Take care of yourself. All right. Did you put that knife back in a drawer, or is it still sitting right there next to your bed?

00:17:54 - 00:17:57 | Speaker 8:

No, I put it back, but it was almost like a walk of shame.

00:18:00 - 00:18:01 | Speaker 5:

I'm an idiot. It was just a dream.

00:18:02 - 00:18:17 | Speaker 4:
