All right, it's Mojo in the morning. So Lydia is telling me about how this weekend she's going to a friend's place in Chicago. And this friend is somebody that she's going to be a bridesmaid for. And she's having all of the people that are standing up for her come spend the weekend with her and have a little slumber party weekend. And I said to her, I go, oh, that's cool. I said, what, wedding's coming up here anytime now? And she goes, yeah, October. October of next year and I'm like wait is this the same girl that got engaged like a year ago when did she get engaged Lydia she got engaged in September so she's been engaged for quite some

time now and we've been talking about wedding planning and when she asked me to be her bridesmaid two months ago I asked her when the wedding would be and she's like oh that's gonna be in October and I'm like oh great like it's gonna come up pretty fast yeah she's like no it's October of 2026 oh my god yeah and so she's already planning like the bachelorette we're already planning like girls trips and things that we're going to do together as like a bridal party but i feel like we're going to be spending like a year and a half planning this wedding of hers it's like the

longest engagement ever all right i gotta ask is this the longest is a two-year engagement the longest engagement ever like can you be engaged for that long of a time are you like I don't know, worried that things are going to change. You know what I mean?

I would hope not if you're thinking about marrying somebody.

But at what point do you say, is this really going to happen?

I mean, so I do all of the bridal shows. Like we, for the radio station, on behalf of the radio station, I go to a lot of the bridal shows. And I cannot tell you guys how many brides I meet. And that's always a question I ask is like, when is your wedding? Where are you getting married? And there are so many that plan years ahead. Yeah. Which I mean, sometimes it has to do with they want one specific venue and it's not available until then. Other times it's a financial thing. They got to save up money to make it happen. But Shannon, you can't then pick two years. Honestly, is not that crazy to me. You can't pick the bridal party. You may not be friends with that. That's true. Or they may not be alive. But let me tell you something. I was a part of a wedding a year or two ago and it was not a long engagement. And she, she switched out two bridesmaids during that process before the wedding.

Oh my God.

So even, even though engagements that aren't that long, that kind of stuff happens too.

All right. I want to know who's had the longest engagement ever. Like you got to tell us, is there somebody that has done it longer than this? Because this is like a two year engagement. Seems like a long time. Jennifer. Hi.

I was engaged for 22 months. My husband wanted to graduate college before we got married. And so we got married the day after he graduated.

Oh, man. That is a long time, though, you know, to be sitting there waiting. Because after he finishes college, and then you now got to pick up all of his, you know, his college bills.

Can I ask you a question? When in that process did you get your dress? At the beginning or, like, how far into the engagement?

It was farther into the engagement.

Okay, because I was going to say, that's my worry, is your taste changes so much. So if you get your dress right after you get engaged, fast forward two years, I probably wouldn't. You don't even have the same style.

Or what if you got bigger? Yeah, right.

Or that too.

Right? I mean, there's some issues when it comes to that. I'm telling you, I think the biggest issue is friends. Like at some point, are you going to be friends with the same people in a couple of years? I know that you want your bestest buddies of all time there with you. Portia, what's going on?

hi how long was the engagement my mom was engaged for seven years oh my god seven years yes seven years and i think it's because they didn't really want to get married because they didn't but she did end up getting married however i just got engaged saturday i ran the d kevin just missed it i think kevin just missed it because he was at the races on saturday yeah and it happened right after it was a finish line proposal wow congratulations we thank you and we're planning for april of next year we know we want to get married okay so you're

Well, we got together and it was always, well, when this happens, when this happens, when we get to here, when we get to here, and I guess 12 years later, we're still not at any of those places.

so this was my high school teacher and i think she was engaged for 15 years at that point

you know that's that's a long time i've never i've never heard of that phrase before it's just

a shut up ring but i bet that happened yeah amanda what's going on hi i was engaged for

two years so not only 15 years but i would not recommend being engaged that long in any way shape or form because all of the problems you guys are talking about i had i had to switch out one of my groomsmen i had to um there was a bunch of drama with the family so my dress did not fit me a month before i got wedding or married because i lost all of the problems that you are talking about i i had in my two-year engagement i'm telling you there's a lot of

issues that could come up on this whole thing and by the way i'm not trying to put any weird things into the atmosphere for lydia when she goes to saying hang out with her friend this weekend but at some point eventually if you keep getting these get-togethers of you and all the other people standing up in the wedding it's going to cost you a bajillion dollars just to go to this wedding because you got so many different events that you're going to be going to i'm giving her

grace because they already have been together for a while and they've been practically living together and doing everything together so i think it's going to be fun i'm just excited to celebrate

dresses up yet or no no not yet we haven't picked out any dresses but she does have a color picked

out that's good what if that color changes though like what if the idea at least you're not buying

a dress well hopefully i'll know that before i buy this dress yeah do you like the ideas that

brides have now where it's like here's the color just go find a dress yes no no you don't you want a specific pick it out for me because it's easy just to grab it then huh and just give it your size right okay all right i always thought that that was kind of cool when they did that i thought women would like that and they can go although the problem though with that is some girls might get a better dress than the other girls or the colors may not be exact you know like that's not the same color step into the world
