Shannon, I was having a conversation with my wife about the fact that in all the years that we've been married, she's never had a mother-in-law because my mom passed away when I was young. And I was telling her, I go, you know, Wes's mom, I know, his beloved mother and father passed away.

00:03:09 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, not beloved father. He didn't have a great relationship with his dad, so I don't want to throw that in there. But he and his mom were very, very, very close, and she passed away from cancer several years ago. So I never got to meet her.

00:03:20 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 6:

So such a bummer. And Chelsea actually said that same thing. But I did say there is benefits to this. You know the benefits? You don't have a mother-in-law that's a pain in the ass.

00:03:28 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 3:

This is true.

00:03:29 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 6:

Isn't that wonderful? This is true. I told Chelsea, I go, think about this. No mother-in-law to be a pain in your ass. Because sometimes those mother-in-laws can be a little overbearing.

00:03:37 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Well, it's funny that you are even bringing this up. Because randomly I was getting my eyebrows done the other way. The other day. And not the other way. Hopefully. Patty, you did them normal. They look good. But the girl who does my eyebrows has one of those salon studios, so it's a cozy little tiny space that she, you know what I'm talking about, that she runs, and it's her and another girl. And so when you get your, when I'm getting my eyebrows done and, like, my lashes done and stuff, I'm laying back in a chair and my eyes are closed. But I'm eavesdropping on the conversation that the girl in the chair next to me was having with her esthetician, with her eyebrow girl. and she was saying she just got married a couple of months ago and she is already super annoyed with her new mother-in-law and i was blown away by this story she said every couple of days amazon packages show up at the house that she now shares with her brand new husband and they're packages filled with socks underwear t-shirts the kind of deodorant that he likes and They are from his mom, and apparently the mom doesn't think that this girl, her son's new wife, is doing laundry often enough or taking care of him properly, so she wants to make sure.

00:05:00 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 4:

that her baby boy has all of his essentials so she, Amazon, ships everything to their house for him. Is that not horrible? That is so disrespectful to me. I was trying to not, like, make it obvious that I was listening to this conversation, but I couldn't help myself. I mean, that's pretty bad.

00:05:19 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 3:

So you think that, I mean, is that just a mama's boy?

00:05:25 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but I also think that's a knock to his wife. That's a not to his wife. I mean. To assume that you are not taking good enough.

00:05:34 - 00:05:34 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:05:34 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 2:

Yes. I think if that's the mentality, yeah. But if the wife is looking at it like, I guess I don't have to do it because your mama doing it. Like, it could be less work.

00:05:42 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 4:

But she wasn't looking. She's like, I take the best care of him. I am perfectly capable. Like, he has everything that he needs. And then we get these packages that stack up on our ports from her because she doesn't think that. But, like, apparently, I don't know how it worked, obviously, when, you know, he was growing, what mama did. Right. But wife is not as good as mama.

00:06:03 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

I want to know how the wife believes or why the mother thinks the wife isn't taking care of her husband. You know what I mean? Like, why does mom have this idea that you're not taking care of him? So she needs to. I don't know. You know what I mean? What has not happened?

00:06:17 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. There had to be something. And I also believe this, too, Shannon. I believe that he said something to her about something that's making the mom do this.

00:06:26 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 4:

She said something to his mom, you mean?

00:06:28 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

He said something to, yeah, his mom and said, yeah, she doesn't do this or whatever, and mom is doing it. I do believe that there's definitely her putting a little thing in there, like a jab in there, and she's an overbearing mother-in-law. But I also believe that there's a reason why she's doing this, and I bet you that he's...

00:06:47 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 4:

But cut the umbilical cord. I would be so offended as a wife. I really would be. Like, it's one thing for the mother-in-law to offer to help, you know, in whatever areas she could. But this, to me, I just, I would be very offensive if that were me.

00:07:04 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 3:

844 Mojo Live. 844-665-6548 is our telephone number.

00:07:09 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 2:

Do you feel like it's up to the husband to say something to his mom? Yes. Yeah. Absolutely. Okay. Okay.

00:07:15 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. You don't have a mother-in-law here. You did have a mother-in-law in the last one. Uh-huh. And did that ever come into anything?

00:07:21 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 4:

I will plead the fifth.

00:07:24 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 3:

We stand out of that. I get it. But listen, I will say this, though. I think as a guy, like I look at my boys, I think that Chelsea potentially has potential to be the mother-in-law that does something maybe to this level. Only because she's too close with the boys. I always tell her all the time, you're way too close to these guys. Especially Joe. Joe is like, God, cut the freaking umbilical cord. which I love his relationship that he has with both of us, but he calls his mom like every freaking moment of the day.

00:07:56 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 4:

See, I don't even think there's anything wrong with that, nor do I think there's anything wrong with mothers-in-law doing nice things to help out, especially a newlywed couple, but just, you know, that's your family. But I feel like in this particular situation, that line was crossed.

00:08:12 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

What's up, Brittany? It's Mojo in the Morning. I want like the overbearing mother-in-law stories. If you've got one of a mother-in-law that's a pain in your arse, I want you to call us up at 844-MOJO-LIVE. You've got one. Go ahead, Britt.

00:08:25 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

She is awful. My husband is her only son. So the entire time we've been dating and married, anything that they get to an argument is automatically my fault. She tells everyone. She's very narcissistic. She thinks that the world revolves around her.

00:08:44 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 3:

Her or her son? which she where does the world the world revolves around her yes everybody has to tiptoe with what

00:08:52 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

they say around her and then she also brought a bunch of people i didn't have never met to our

00:08:59 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 3:

wedding because she couldn't go by herself wait so did you guys not get like say okay we're inviting x amount of people and here you know tell me who you want to invite she just kept bringing people

00:09:09 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 1:

to your wedding yes she just showed up to my wedding and brought people that i had never met before oh geez okay wow and so currently she's not speaking we're not speaking to her because she

00:09:21 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

when you say when you say we're not speaking to her do you think that your husband is not

00:09:27 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

speaking to her or is he secretly speaking to her and oh no he's pretty mad at her now it's taken about six years for him to see that she manipulates him i caught on to it pretty quickly but he's on the same page now she's just awful question for you um if you could if you could

00:09:47 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

like tell her anything that drives you the most crazy about her what it would it be because you're right now on the radio and she potentially could hear this one day oh she for sure with it because

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

season.

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 4:

She has texted him when she's heard me on the radio before. I just can't stand the pity me, I'm the victim mentality all the time when she's a grown woman. I just don't like it.

00:10:10 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 2:

If she's listening, I want her to do me a favor. I want you to call us up, and I want to hear your side of the story. I want to hear about your daughter.

00:10:16 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

She won't call up. She's too scared of me. Oh, okay. All right. How is Thanksgiving? It's crazy.

00:10:24 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 3:

She's a Jehovah Witness, so we don't celebrate holidays with her. Oh, okay.

00:10:28 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 2:

Thank you, Brittany, for the call. We'll see if Brittany's mother-in-law calls. What's up, Kim? How you doing? How are you? Good. What's up? You got an overbearing mother-in-law?

00:10:40 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, you could say that. So my mother-in-law, unfortunately, is in the active process of the end of her life right now. She has decided after my being married to her son for 25 years that she's going to, quote-unquote, come clean and die with no regrets. Oh, goodness. And she has come right out and let me know that she's never liked me the entire 25 years ago. Oh, my God.

00:11:10 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 5:

How exactly did she say it?

00:11:13 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 6:

Well, she started off the conversation with, I don't want this to come between you, but. And then she literally went back to the very day we got married.

00:11:24 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 3:

She parked her coffin right between both of y'all. Oh, my gosh.

00:11:29 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. She, you know, my husband and I, we eloped to Vegas when we got married. And as if I, you know, stuffed him in a box and flew him out to Vegas and held a gun to his head. It was all my fault that he didn't get to see her son get married.

00:11:45 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 2:

Did you tell her, by the way? Did you tell your mother-in-law, die, bitch?

00:11:53 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 6:

No, I don't want to be good for that, but I did. We live like two and a half, three miles from her house, and I did get up and walk out the door and walk home.

00:12:03 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 2:

Will you go to her funeral when she dies?

00:12:05 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 6:

No, because I needed to have that space before I said something that I was probably going to regret.

00:12:12 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 2:

Will you go to her funeral when she dies?

00:12:13 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 6:

um for my husband yes but like literally yesterday was her birthday and um my husband and my two children they went over and they went and celebrated with her and i stayed home well

00:12:30 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 2:

she tells you that i never liked you then i i wouldn't either but uh you know what killer with kindness, literally. Don't say killer. Oh my God. Thank you for the call. Yep, no problem. Terry, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning. We're talking about the overbearing mother-in-law.

00:12:49 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

My mother-in-law baptized my son without telling me.

00:12:53 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that was my mom. That was my own mom.

00:12:56 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 4:

No, my mother-in-law after my son, her their father, her son passed away. She decided that they were going to go to church with her for one weekend they were spending with her. So she decided to baptize them because she thought it was her grandparent right and didn't know.

00:13:13 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God.

00:13:14 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 2:

Wow.

00:13:15 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 1:

Well. Yeah.

00:13:17 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. That's crazy. That's amazing that a mother-in-law would do all this stuff without, you know. Usually mother-in-laws or the grandmas buy a lot of stuff for their kids and, you know, spoil them. Yeah. Some of these stories are unbelievable. Julie, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:13:35 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Hi. I do now when I'm married.

00:13:40 - 00:13:44 | Speaker 2:

Hold on. Say again. Your phone was bad at the beginning. Would you say?

00:13:44 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 5:

I'm sorry. I used to weigh a lot more than I do now, and my ex-mother-in-law would purposely buy me, like, size small and medium clothes for Christmas. So when I would open the presents in front of everyone, they would all know that they would never fit me. That's so cool.

00:13:59 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 1:

That's crazy. That's awful.

00:14:01 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 5:

That's awful. Yeah, that went on for a long time

00:14:05 - 00:14:09 | Speaker 2:

Did your husband ever notice this Or did you have to tell him this

00:14:09 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 5:

He never said anything I will if you will, bitch

00:14:14 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 2:

That's amazing God, these mother-in-laws are horrible Lisa, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning, how you doing?

00:14:22 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 3:

I'm good, I'm good My mother-in-law is such a narcissist That when my husband was diagnosed With terminal cancer her immediate response was why is this bad thing happening to me why is this happening to me

00:14:36 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 1:

oh my god it's yeah she consider you no no the whole the whole thing and then it was like you

00:14:44 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 3:

know this whole thing about like well when you're cremated i want your ashes and he's like no and then she cornered me 20 minutes later and said well he'll be gone so you can just give me and I'm like, he just told you no, you know, is your, is your husband okay?

00:15:00 - 00:15:18 | Speaker 5:

No, he passed away a few years ago. He had stage four glioblastoma. I'm so sorry. But it's like the whole relationship. She was just, my family thought I was making stuff up until they met her. And my sister-in-law was like, oh, my God. We thought you were exaggerating.

00:15:19 - 00:15:22 | Speaker 7:

You got to hide the ashes then. Don't let her see those.

00:15:23 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 5:

I swear to God, I think she stole some of them out of my car at one point. Oh, my God. Because I had, because I was going to go spatter his ashes and, you know, I had made some comment. But, you know, it's karma. It'll be, she lives a very lonely life, so.

00:15:38 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 1:

Not still with ashes, though.

00:15:41 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 7:

Unbelievable. These ones are, these are horrible. I didn't realize we'd get such bad stories. I thought it would be, you know, she says bad things about me. I didn't realize it was like wishing death upon people. What's up, Pam? Are you there?

00:15:54 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 6:

Yes, I am. I married into a Croatian family, and if anybody knows Slavic families, they're very particular about who they meet and marry. And my mother-in-law told me she hoped she, well, she didn't know why Tony was marrying me on my first day. He should be marrying somebody Croatian. And then proceeded to sit at our dinner table and talk snack about me. What she didn't know is I took classes, and I spoke back in Croatian. Oh, my gosh. There you go. What was her face like? She got up, slammed her dish in the sink, and went in the bedroom and locked herself in there.

00:16:40 - 00:16:42 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. How good did that feel for you, though?

00:16:44 - 00:17:00 | Speaker 6:

Oh, it was awesome, because all I did was go to the grocery store, forgot the milk, so I ran up to, it was CVS at the time, to get a gallon of milk and she proceeded to talk smack about me going to the store twice today and

00:17:00 - 00:17:06 | Speaker 7:

i said in croatian i pay my bills not you say say it real quick in croatian yeah let's hear

00:17:06 - 00:17:12 | Speaker 6:

what it sounds like in croat oh i've lost it i've been divorced from them oh yeah how do you say

00:17:12 - 00:17:19 | Speaker 7:

divorce in croat how do you how do you say tony's mom's a pain in the ass i can tell her to remove

00:17:19 - 00:17:20 | Speaker 6:

for Hedgehammer ass.

00:17:21 - 00:17:23 | Speaker 7:

Go ahead. Let's hear it. Let's hear it.

00:17:24 - 00:17:29 | Speaker 6:
