Up next, Kevin So, Kev is the new member of the Mojo in the Morning show And you think a new job would give you good karma But it didn't On the first week that you start a new job I know you gotta be tired as hell Have you been going home and just crashing after the show's over with?

00:02:48 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, man I mean, you do your best, but you still got life, right? so it's only so much sleep you can get but i don't have to wake up as early as shannon so i get at least an extra hour in i'd say but i i thought i'm i think i'm a good person so i don't know where this bad karma is coming from um but i guess the backstory is my mom is like i don't know she's one with the lord so she she she warned me for the past two weeks my mom has been saying like move your car from the area that you park it in and i'm like no i've been living in this apartment complex for about two years. I park in this same space. Do you have an assigned space or no? No. Okay. But literally nothing has ever happened.

00:03:26 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 7:

What is your mom so cautious about this space? What did your mom think about this space?

00:03:30 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

She just said, move it. She just felt as though something was going to happen to my car. Okay. Either somebody was going to break in it. She just had this feeling, move your car. Yeah. And of course, I don't listen. I'm just like, it's okay. Just brush it off a little bit. But I should have listened. I walk outside, and my car has been ran into. Oh. I got front-end damaged to the point where, like, my front bumper is hanging off. The light is completely broken. That's a lot of damage. It's emotional damage. I walked outside. I'm like, what is happening right now? You need some flex tape. So I go outside. I see the wreck. I immediately you know want to make the claim report I call the police so I can start the you know that paperwork and get my police report number and all that stuff to handle and when the police officer gets there we look under the windshield wiper and there's a note and I'm like okay let me read the note uh beautiful handwriting so it had to be a female um because I mean I don't write no guy writes like that no guy writes like this immediately they didn't put their name but they go sorry for the inconvenience my apologies I've already called my claims adjuster they'll call you we started the whole thing so I called my guy he gives me the rundown and the thing that piques my interest the most is the fact that he says I can either proceed with the claim through my insurance or I can use the other person's insurance and I'm like okay well what's the difference he starts giving me the pros and the cons yeah the thing that stuck out the most

00:05:00 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 4:

is if I go through my insurance provider, even though I didn't cause the accident, it can still show up in my claim history. And in the future, my premiums may increase because of this. That doesn't sound right. That's ridiculous. That doesn't sound like it should be right. It's not even my, you can literally. You need to call Jake. My car is parked. My car is parked. There's literally nothing else I could have done in this situation to prevent this. But yet my premiums may increase. You know what you could have done?

00:05:30 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

Honestly, you know what you could have done? Don't say it. Listen to your mom. I know, man. Shut up, my mom. You listen to your mom. If you listen to your mom, and here's where we're going on this topic right now. What did your mom warn you about that you shouldn't do that came back to bite you in the ass later because you should have listened to your mom? Pretty much everybody. You ready for the list? Yeah. Wait, wait. So you said your mom told you not to park there. You parked there, your mom said, and your mom's a good lady.

00:06:05 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. She's the best.

00:06:06 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 3:

She's a religious woman.

00:06:07 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:06:07 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 3:

She had a feeling this is not a good parking spot. I want to see this parking spot now because I bet you the parking spot is next to the dumpster, and it's like crooked, and it's got probably cars that are backing right up to it. And you're not that far off. And then, okay, how much damage do you have on the front of the thing?

00:06:24 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 4:

I'll show you a picture. It's pretty messed up.

00:06:27 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Is it?

00:06:27 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 4:

Is it, though? I'm sending a picture to the group chat right now.

00:06:30 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 3:

What do you mean? Is it, though?

00:06:33 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

You think I'm exaggerating? Yeah.

00:06:35 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

No. How much money do they think?

00:06:38 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 4:

I don't know yet. So I took the pictures and uploaded it to the site yesterday, so we'll see.

00:06:43 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 5:

I remember my insurance. Oh, yeah. Oh, is it bad? Oh, yeah. Do I feel bad now? Yep. Let's see.

00:06:48 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

Hold it up and just let me show you. Oh, yeah. Oh, Megan. Oh, my God. The bumper is, like, coming right off. That's not a thing.

00:06:55 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 5:

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I really underestimated you.

00:06:58 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 3:

That's more than emotional damage on that one. If I saw that thing, I would be...

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 6:

Emotional damage!

00:07:04 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 3:

I would be freaking out if I saw that thing. Yeah, that's not good. By the way, what the hell was she doing that she did that?

00:07:12 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 4:

So look, yeah, so I talked to their claims adjuster. I'm like, you know... So it had to happen in the morning. Have you seen this person? I've never seen this person. And they didn't leave a name. They didn't leave anything. They just left a phone number of their insurance company. Exactly, but I called and their excuse was they fell asleep. And we all know what really happened.

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 3:

They were drunk. They were.

00:07:32 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 6:

High, high. You're both high.

00:07:34 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 5:

Of course. Or they were on their phone.

00:07:37 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but it had to happen between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 or something like that.

00:07:43 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 1:

You are high as a f***ing kite.

00:07:46 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 3:

Victor, what's happening?

00:07:48 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 2:

Hey, morning, Mojo. Hey, I was just calling. And I felt Kevin so strong because I was in the same situation two years ago. I got out of church on a Sunday and pulled into Kroger real quick. It was left in five minutes. Walked back out to my car. My front passenger door was dead. Someone ran into it. And I parked underneath one of them cameras. But, you know, I called the cops. They said they can't do anything about it because I didn't actually see who did it. So I had to go through my insurance. Six months later, my premium went up. And it was because of that claim.

00:08:17 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 3:

So is there any way to pull cameras? I mean, everywhere there's cameras these days.

00:08:22 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 2:

I mean, yeah, there is. But, you know, they said I couldn't, since I didn't witness it, and I'm not sure what Kroger said about the camera, but they said I had to actually have seen the owner of the car with the registered, you know, the registered owner.

00:08:36 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 3:

I wonder if the insurance companies will do that, where they'll call the location, like the Kroger in your case, and say, Caleb, turn your radio down, okay? I'm not sure what's going on.

00:08:47 - 00:08:47 | Unknown:

All right, all right.

00:08:47 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

What's going on, Caleb?

00:08:50 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, last year I bought a 2012 SRT Jeep, and my mom was telling me, just wait on it, just wait on it, search around. I blew the motor the first month I had it. I had it rebuilt without warranty, and now I'm going back to the motor shop again. I cracked the bell housing and everything, so I know exactly how Kevin's family.

00:09:07 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 5:

How long did it take you to admit to your mom that all of this happened after she told you not to buy it?

00:09:16 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 6:

Probably right about now.

00:09:20 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

By the way, that's the beauty of this. He still hasn't told his mom. His mom still doesn't even know. Sarah, what's happening? Oh, can you hear me? Yeah, there you are.

00:09:34 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

I texted in saying that he should certainly go through her insurance company because in the state of Michigan, if you're legally parked, the at-fault party is 100% responsible and they are required to provide you a loaner vehicle.

00:09:47 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 3:

And you're an insurance agent?

00:09:49 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

I am, yeah. Oh, I see.

00:09:50 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Kevin, first off, real quick, Kevin, you should get this lady's number. Yeah, for sure. And the reason why, you should switch your insurance over to her because if your insurance guy was dumb enough.

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 4:

to not tell you that same thing, you got the wrong insurance guy, right, Sarah?

00:10:03 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

That's right, yeah.

00:10:04 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 4:

Do you mind if I get your number, Sarah, hit you up?

00:10:06 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, you can for sure hit me up.

00:10:08 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 4:

Hold on one sec. We'll have Lydia write it down for you. Okay, that's great. So again, if you're legally parked, somebody hits you and you are legally parked, you go through their insurance because they're the responsible ones. Because I was going to say, you're innocent in this one. Absolutely. There's nothing you can do about this whole thing. They can't do this. So, all right, hold on one second. Don't go anywhere. All I keep thinking in my head Is Kevin's mom I've never met Kevin's mom None of us have met Kevin's mom But when we meet her The first thing I'm going to say is Tell me about that parking spot I just want to hear what you have to say About that parking spot Because I want her to just go off on Kevin What's up, Rosa? How you doing?

00:10:51 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 7:

Hey, how are you? Good What's up? Well, I just want to talk about the topic because literally, this is all I do. Like, the last 10 years of my life, I've dealt with insurance.

00:11:07 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, really? Like, because you've had problems in your life that you had to deal with insurance?

00:11:10 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 7:

No, no, no, no. No, I work with insurance. Okay. Sorry. If you hear Elliot crying in the background, that's okay. We'll go.

00:11:18 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:11:19 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 7:

So, I work with physical therapy for about eight years, and it was a front task. So, I work with medical insurance. I currently right now work with dental insurance, and I've dealt with auto insurance.

00:11:32 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 4:

And the insurance company's job, I've learned this out, is to not pay you, right? You pay them. They don't want to pay you anything.

00:11:38 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

110%.

00:11:39 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:11:39 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 7:

110%. The insurance company is the biggest Ponzi scheme ever. You will be paying so much into premiums, they will find any loopholes you have to not pay you. Yeah. Like, okay, hypothetically speaking, let's just talk about Medicare and Medicaid.

00:11:55 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 4:

You know what, that's too much, Tim D. Listen, you had me at the baby crying. I'm sorry, I've got to move the next one. Put Elliot back on. No offense, but this is not WJR. If this was WJR, we would.

00:12:10 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 6:

We're not educational programming.

00:12:12 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 4:

All right, she's a very nice lady. Call us back again, but no. Clara, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:12:18 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 6:

Hey, I was just calling because that reminded me of when I was a teenager with my dad, And he is very strong with his beliefs and his feelings as well. So when he tells you something, you should listen. Well, this day I was going to the mall with all my friends, and he said, I don't feel like you should go. I really think that you should stay home. And, of course, I didn't listen. I was like, everything's going to be fine. Well, all of my friends got caught stealing. And he ended up having to come and get me. And the entire time he walked me through that mall going, if your daughter looks like this, she should probably listen to her dad because they all just got caught stealing. Oh. But you know what? I never stole a day alone in my life again.

00:12:59 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 4:

You know what? Listen, I'm a parent. I'm a dad. I have told my kids numerous times, I will not tell you I told you so. I will just tell you what I think you should do. And I lie.

00:13:16 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 5:

Because I tell them I told you so all the time i can't wait to tell them i told you so i actually will i i hope they don't listen to me so i can tell them i told you so as a parent you want to tell them you told you so

00:13:31 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 6:

by the way hold on a second we're having a medicare insurance seminar

00:13:39 - 00:14:09 | Speaker 2:
