Shannon, I actually saw the beautiful baby yesterday because I saw that your ex posted pictures, Andrew posted pictures of his new baby girl. And I personally, for me and Chelsea and the entire families want to congratulate him and congratulate your kids on having a new sibling and congratulate his wife.

00:02:13 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 2:

She's a beautiful little baby too. She's such a cutie pie. But yeah, something, I mean, this is something very big and new for me and for really for me to navigate with with lucy and smith is they have the addition of a new baby sister in their lives and it's so cute they are so excited about this baby yeah um she arrived on monday so it's like all they want to talk about and it's very very sweet very very sweet yeah

00:02:46 - 00:02:51 | Speaker 4:

it's got to be so happy for them amazing for both of them because lucy was how old when smith

00:02:51 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 2:

so lou was three when smith was born so she probably doesn't i got i got to see her be a big sister yeah but not like now she's 11 and she like gets it i don't think she got it when she was three and smith you know forever the baby and he's still the baby in my house but now he's not the baby at dad's house so it's kind of interesting and fun to see him be a big brother um that's cool but yeah it's it is such an interesting thing to see and if you're divorced and you this has happened to you know your ex continues creating family and so your kids now have new siblings and i have this fear i've had this like pit in my stomach for the past two days of i feel like they're not going to want to be at my house for the next you know however long because how exciting is it to be with your new baby sister yeah do you know what i mean and they've been going to the hospital for the past two days which i love and spending time with her um but even today luce was like was is already asking me on text like when do i get to go see her and i'm like i don't i don't know what their schedule is like i don't know what their schedule is today and yes and this is their week to be with me but i don't know if that's like a fear that only i have or if that's very normal that, I'm like, oh, I said to Wes last night, I'm like, I just, I hope that they still like being at our house.

00:04:17 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 4:

I don't know. They will.

00:04:19 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 2:

There's nothing more exciting than a baby. How was it? Nothing.

00:04:23 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 4:

How is it for you seeing a new baby amongst the family and seeing your ex-husband have a new baby?

00:04:32 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

I mean, it's definitely, I'm truly, and I mean this with all my heart, I am so, so happy for them. but it is kind of strange you know it's it's just it's changed yeah was was it strange when you

00:04:43 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 3:

found out like she was pregnant um maybe a little yeah because i'm trying to wonder like it's one thing to like get the news of like we're having a baby it's another thing i'm sure to have it

00:04:53 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 2:

actually be here for sure and also just now we we and the kids are at Thank you.

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 3:

such different stages in the households right like on dad's side there's a new baby on mom's side you've got a sibling going to college yeah so we've got like total opposite ends of the

00:05:10 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 2:

spectrum happening for them let me ask you this question do you ever talk to your dad about stuff like this because of this your dad wasn't your dad in the same boat when your mom and dad got divorced didn't your mom have another so did my dad your dad had another child huh really i didn't

00:05:27 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 3:

know that i never knew that yeah so i have a half sister who lives in ohio and she's wonderful i just we don't see each other because she has a family and she lives in ohio okay so i actually saw her do you remember when the weekend do you remember when your parents were having uh having kids uh with others uh yeah i mean i was six seven years old when that was the case so so how

00:05:48 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

were you feeling because it's funny you're talking about how excited the kids are sometimes you wonder are the kids going to get you know worried about that or the you know kids like like when we had luke we were so worried about jacob because jacob was going from being the baby to now the middle child and we worried that he was going to get freaked out by that and i'll never forget st joe's hospital pontiac michigan shout out to them like kevin says and jacob came to see his little baby brother for the first time and he looked up at chelsea and he's holding we were so worried because we always concern ourselves with jacob for some reason we always worry that you know he's feeling you know because he had a big brother and all this stuff and he looks up and he goes i'm so happy we were honestly we were balling both of us were balling because we were so happy to see that and of course that only lasted for about six months and then he was like

00:06:38 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 3:

i hate the little pain in the ass yeah yeah no i don't i mean that right now they're both just

00:06:43 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 2:

like enthralled yeah with her that's cool um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 the dynamics when they change and you know we've got all kinds on this show you know what i mean we got a single dad on the show we've got shannon divorced remarried and you know new families got chelsea and i've been together for eons you know what i mean and you know with the kids i think that's the beauty is we make up pretty much what our listeners are made up and i know there are people that have been in shannon's boat either you were the one that had the child in the next marriage or you were the one that watched somebody have the child any advice you know any good advice for uh for shannon with uh with this i'm so happy for andrew i i reached out to andrew about two weeks ago or three weeks ago on something that i saw on uh his uh his social and he jokingly goes he goes i'm now going to be an older dad and i said no you're still young first off but also you you know this is going to be such a cool thing to be able to to do it because i will say this we had joe and then 10 years later we got surprise pregnant with luke yeah and it was honestly like the coolest surprise ever that all of a sudden you get another chance at doing it all over again yeah yeah so

00:08:00 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

it's wild yeah um cab you need to not have a baby no i'm straight straight no great i'm good but i do think i do think like you know sometimes when you leave a relationship and then like josiah's mom like i remember kind of initially hearing that she was seeing other guys and even though i felt like i was over her it was still that moment of like damn like you seeing other guys type of thing yeah i couldn't imagine her getting pregnant though you know what i mean like that's a whole different world it's definitely a feeling yeah for sure um i uh i think that

00:08:43 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 2:

the coolest thing was the other day because the baby was born on what is it monday i believe yeah the coolest thing was hearing lucy on facetime with you after the show and her talking about how excited she was yeah like that to me was was awesome like that's such a cool thing and i always believe this with your kids you kind of let them kind of play their their part and kind of guide guide you and and the stuff and when you see all you want in life is your children to be happy absolutely and i'm going to tell you this i you know i used to always you know sit there and say to myself like god i want to be a basketball player you know any of this stuff and it's funny because your desire to be Michael Jordan was kind of like, oh, this is my thing. No, now my desire is I want to be the best dad I can be and then see my parenting lead them to hopefully go on and then start their own families. Like, we're going to probably experience this soon. And when you see your kid happy, that's all that matters. I mean, it's way better than any feeling you like. It's better than sex.

00:09:50 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I'm telling you

00:09:53 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 1:

It's very close And that's why

00:09:55 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 3:

I am welcoming any They want to go to the hospital They go They want to show me pictures i i love seeing pictures they want to talk about her i mean definitely it's not easy but that that's where they are that's where their little hearts are now and so wes and i are just

00:10:10 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 2:

welcoming all of it have you taken them out to go buy gifts a gift for the baby no so i actually

00:10:16 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 3:

was going to do that with lou and then we were in this store and she's like oh she's she has 56 books she's never going to read she has so many clothes you don't know what to do so i'm like i don't i don't like is that weird i think it's i don't know is that strange but i think make it

00:10:29 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 2:

from them and not oh for sure i would like i honestly i think that you that hey get get the baby something that you will remember as what's your first gift from a baby from a baby because i yeah i just think that's a good idea remember that actually chelsea was was brought that up to me the other day and goes goes uh um you know because you'll feel weird doing it because you don't want them to like i hate to say this but you don't want them to feel like you're giving your gift or whatever, but it's the kids. I don't know. Sometimes I don't know. But I'm saying

00:11:00 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 1:

what's wrong with Shannon getting a baby a gift from Shannon? Yeah. Ain't no wrong with that. Then get them a gift

00:11:07 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 2:

from you too. But I think it's special when it's your sibling. I took the boys to go buy gifts for their... Joe got a gift for Jacob and Jacob and Joe got gifts for Luke. Who both? I didn't buy a gift from them. I'm like, hey, my gift is I'm going to get them college one day in the future what's up jennifer hi hi how are you good what's going on um so i've

00:11:31 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 6:

kind of had that same kind of situation um i was a young i was a young mother and so i had a daughter um with my ex-husband and you know we separated we got a divorce and it wasn't until 10 years later that we started having children with our new you know spouses yeah and so my daughter was almost 11 years old before she had any siblings and within five years she had five siblings

00:11:56 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 2:

it was wow who had the babies first you or the dad i did i did and how how was it for him how

00:12:05 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 6:

how did he react to that i think he was fine um i think because they were trying in their own world you know to you know to extend their family yeah so it was just it was a huge adjustment for her but I'm pretty sure it's permanent birth control because she's in her 30s now and has no desire to have children. She had nowhere to go have peace.

00:12:27 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 2:

Because, yeah, there were so many kids. Shannon, does that...

00:12:30 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 3:

That's also what worries me. You talking about having peace is it's going to be so busy and fun over at dad's house and our house is so quiet. It's so quiet. So these are all of the things that go through my head with this, you know?

00:12:42 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 2:

Do you ever wish now that you guys, you and Wes had another baby? no no so i love babies but i we are good okay yeah because baby fever usually starts when you start seeing other babies for sure yeah i mean i listen we saw and i love a snuggly baby but i

00:13:02 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 3:

that season of my life is is no longer hi lacy it's mojo in the morning hi how are you great

00:13:09 - 00:14:23 | Speaker 5:

what's going on good so i had um a child when i was like 24 and then i had another baby just three years ago so I have a three-year-old now and a 17-year-old um so I was the opposite parent but what I wanted to say to Shannon was you're worried about them um not wanting to spend as much time at home but I think you also have to remember that the opposite could happen so that baby's going to now be taking all the attention that they are so used to from their dad right and if they might start to shift that feeling and be like well I go there and everything's all both of these so kind of prepare them for that too and kind of make sure that they are aware that this baby needs a little extra attention and that those feelings are normal and they're valid but also keep that in mind that that could be a possibility yeah yeah that's great and then in terms of the gifts so i feel like you've got little kids watching you right they're looking at you and they're learning from you and if you're out buying a gift and saying let's get this for your baby sister and you know what i'm gonna incorporate this and i'm gonna put this for me like you're just giving them a really good you're being a good role model and setting a very good example for future for them i love that yeah yeah i think it's really important great call lacy thank you

00:14:23 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 2:

for the call uh stella what's up it's mojo in the morning and for those that are just listening right now shannon uh just was telling us about how her ex-husband and his new wife have a uh had just had a baby. Stella, what'd you want to say?

00:14:40 - 00:15:22 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. Good morning. How are you? Good. What's going on? Well, I think Shannon, a good gift would be one of those recordable books that Lucy and Smith can read to the baby. They're not going to have that book. And it's a really good thing to do. We did it for our grandkids. Um, and they love it. Not going to lie. We had. wine before we read it that's cute that's a cute idea really fun and it was cute and their little voices now thank you stella

00:15:22 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 3:

I love my drug is here.

00:15:24 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 5:

Blue fish. Blue fish.

00:15:26 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 3:

Hi, Lauren. What's happening?

00:15:29 - 00:15:30 | Speaker 5:

Hey, morning, guys.

00:15:30 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 4:

How's it going? Good morning.

00:15:31 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 3:

Great. What's going on?

00:15:34 - 00:17:05 | Speaker 4:

I was just tuning in and I wanted a call. So I do not have any kids, but my mom got divorced when I was four and remarried a few years later. So I have a younger half-brother who is seven years younger than me. and honestly there were some tough spots there and but I think it had to do with the fact that when my brother was born his dad it was his first time having a kid so he was focused solely on my little brother and again the attention was kind of taken away so I think as long as the parents understand that yeah there's a baby but there's also other kids in there and you guys have a good dynamic you really shouldn't have any issues i mean me and my brother aren't the closest but we have a better relationship now that we're older yeah and it's going to be weird sometimes and there's going to be fights and sometimes kids are going to feel like they're not getting the attention that they used to have but that's just part of life where they have to go through these things because they're going to experience other parts of their life when they're in school and their friends give attention to other people so you just really have to have a good cohesive unit you know with your family and be able to communicate well because i was the youngest for my dad and the middle child for my mom so you can imagine how that's a little difficult to wrap your head around

00:17:05 - 00:17:29 | Speaker 3:

it and that's interesting because smith will have that so smith will actually be the uh the baby for shannon and uh and yeah and be yeah until you adopt a another dog and then you have but no it's cool i mean i think that's kind of a cool feeling to know that you got the baby feels in one place and uh you're just one of the kids in the other place no i'm just kidding good luck smith uh what's

00:17:29 - 00:17:38 | Speaker 5:

what's up carrie hi good morning um i just want to give a little advice it's just my opinion

00:17:38 - 00:17:53 | Speaker 3:

personally i'm just guessing that you're a grandma are you a grandma because you sound like a grandma i am i can tell your voice like you sound like you should be the the grandma in the movies you know what i mean it's like well hold on we're going over to grandma's house hello grandma what's

00:17:53 - 00:18:00 | Speaker 5:

going on bless your heart because i love all my children so and grandchildren it's everything

00:18:00 - 00:18:03 | Speaker 3:

Could you just say, ho, ho, ho, I'm Mrs. Claus?

00:18:04 - 00:18:44 | Speaker 5:

Ho, ho, ho, I'm Mrs. Claus. Okay, Mrs. Claus, what's going on? Okay, so listen, I'm just, my advice, and I'm hoping that Shannon isn't using this around the children, because I don't use half. Half is not allowed. That is their sibling. Oh, for sure. That is their new sister, and even hearing half, in their mind, I feel like it starts to segregate the children. so I feel like saying that is something you should never do and um I would never I have a sister and she's my sister but we have different dads period I'm just saying that's my biggest advice is never

00:18:44 - 00:18:48 | Speaker 4:

use the house that's wisdom she's old enough to know about segregation

00:18:48 - 00:18:52 | Speaker 5:

baby watch out now

00:18:52 - 00:19:03 | Speaker 3:

grandma Carrie you're the sweetest we appreciate that That is really wonderful advice. That is awesome advice.
