The only reason I would really rock with the Nintendo Switch is for Mario Kart. Mario Kart is the game that I feel like you go get a Nintendo Switch for. Outside of that, I'm not with all the Zeldas, all that kind of Witches of Warcraft. I like sports games.

I was only a big sports guy. Like, I'd play Madden or I'd play MLB, the show, or I'd play, you know, the NBA game.

Were you ever into games, Shannon, like video games? I had the original Nintendo and my sister and I loved playing Super Mario 3 on it. That was like our thing. And then I got Sega as a gift. I was maybe into Sonic a little bit.

But they do play Roblox with their stepbrother and stepsister, and that's it. That's the only person they're allowed to play on there.

I never played Roblox, and I don't know how much. I don't think my kids ever played it. But does that game get violent every now and again?

Roblox is a platform, and on the platform, there are like millions of games.

Can you get violent with them like that? Yeah, they got some violent games on there. But you're playing with people from all around the world in some of these games.

Like the rooms are able to hold hundreds of people in there. And they have like this close proximity where the closer you are to a person in the game, you can hear their voice.

So that's where you start getting crazy.

I always thought it was weird when my kids would be playing video games and I'd hear them talking and talking to people and I'd be thinking, oh, they're talking to their friends. And I'd go in, and they're talking to some probably 50-year-old guy sitting in his underwear, you know, with, like, a tank top on or something like that.

I would stay up until 3, 4, sometimes 5 or 6 in the morning, and I would be there in front of the TV in my basement playing Madden. I would play nonstop for hours upon hours. And then finally she just said, you can't do this anymore. We got a baby. Yeah, we got a baby. I know. Actually, no, and you know what's funny about this? There was one pizza place by my house. It was a Jets pizza that stayed open really late, and I would always order a pizza at midnight, and I would have a pizza delivered, and the guy would come to the door, and he would look at me, and I would, like, have my little, you know, headset on and stuff, and he'd go, what you playing? You want to come? Can you imagine Chelsea waking up in the middle of the night, is me and the Jets pizza guy hanging out together. We would. All right. Jordan, are you a video game player or no?

My name is Natarika Terry LaMille and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.
