in the morning you're a doo-doo hat it's showtime

00:01:54 - 00:02:24 | Unknown:

We'll be right back.

00:02:24 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 5:

good morning uh shannon's a little cranky because she was trying to take a nap yesterday

00:02:47 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 4:

and your your nap completely got ruined you guys first of all i feel like we were all super tired during the show yesterday like there was something about yesterday I was barely getting through the show I feel like my energy was so low so my apologies but all I could think about all morning was when I get home after all of the meetings that we have I am just gonna get the dogs and I'm gonna crawl into my bed and I am gonna sleep for the afternoon which is something that I don't normally get to do because I usually have kids running around or Wes is there and he always wants to like talk or do something or whatever but i had nobody in my house so i thought i pull up in my driveway and i see there's a truck in my driveway super nice guy i walk in and i was like hi how are you doing um he knows that i wake up in the middle of the night to go to work so i even said to him i'm just gonna be in my room i'm gonna take a nap so you do your thing he knows he you know cleans up leaves whatever i go in my room i change into my sweatpants i get all cozy in my bed i am exhausted and then what do i hear a whistle the loudest whistling honest to god i've ever heard this man whistled for 10 minutes 20 minutes i thought surely his cheeks are going to be tired after whistling this much 40 minutes in i'm like well my nap is this is not happening today all because the painter would not stop whistling really i was so annoyed and you know when you're already cranky because you're looking forward to sleeping and then you can't sleep so then my cranky level like shot through the roof but yep like an old coal miner does everybody else need a nap today are you guys awake or what's happening i'm listening

00:04:38 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

but I'm trying to find my oh here I was trying to find my song here my whistle song

00:04:44 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 4:

but less

00:04:46 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 5:

as Kevin said like an old coal miner I don't know what that coal miners whistle I didn't even know they whistled coal miners I mean I'm just thinking I haven't working on a radio I was thinking more like seven dwarfs

00:04:56 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 4:

yes

00:04:56 - 00:04:57 | Unknown:

there you go

00:04:57 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 4:

yes I'm more impressed that you saw

00:04:58 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 5:

I wanted to say something Shady It was just silence. I'm like, all right, I'm going to go home and take a nap, actually, right now.

00:05:06 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 1:

It's funny. I go look for whistle while you work and whistle while you twerk came up more so than whistle while you work. That's the real version. That is, by the way. Oh, this might be the dirt. Yeah, there you go.

00:05:21 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 4:

But what was that thing that just disrupted your sleep when all you wanted to do was sleep and you couldn't?

00:05:27 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 1:

Can I, uh, if you call, you can call up for that. Can I also ask this question too?

00:05:31 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:05:32 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 1:

You have a strange man in your house and you will fall asleep with a strange man in your house?

00:05:36 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 5:

Well, that's been my life for like the past year. Really? Getting, you know.

00:05:40 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 1:

You must really, this must be like a trustworthy man that you would actually say.

00:05:44 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 5:

Never met him before in my life before he started painting.

00:05:46 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 1:

Come on. No. And you said to him, I'm going to go to my bedroom and go lay down. Yep. And.

00:05:53 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 5:

I have to. What else? And take a nap. I have to continue with my normal life.

00:05:57 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 1:

But that would have, interestingly enough, as a guy who's watched much porn in my life, I would have thought that was my invitation, for God's sake.

00:06:06 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 5:

He's about 75 years old.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 1:

Excuse me, sir. I'm about to go lay down for a moment.

00:06:11 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 5:

He could be my grandfather.

00:06:14 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 2:

I mean, Mike, am I wrong? I mean, you saw that porn, haven't you? Right. 75-year-old men sniff panties, too. I mean, it's not just young guys.

00:06:21 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, they get their own category.

00:06:22 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 1:

When I'm 75 years old, I definitely am going to be watching more porn than I've ever watched even right now. Man. Yeah.

00:06:32 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 3:

Especially with that Apple Vision Pro. It's getting all over the place.

00:06:36 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

Could you imagine, by the way, if the man actually does have one of those things and he's just sitting there, you know?

00:06:42 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 3:

Whistling while he works. Yeah, exactly. This is what it sounded like. Just whistle while you're there.

00:06:49 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 2:

You didn't kiss with him.

00:06:50 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 3:

Kiss with him.

00:06:51 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 2:

You didn't give him a cough, like an ahem. No.

00:06:54 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 5:

Nothing? He wouldn't have been able to hear me over the whistling mic.

00:07:02 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 1:

It's probably part of the job. Did you know what song he was whistling? No. Could you tell? It had to have been ten different songs with as long as he was whistling. Are you sure he was whistling? He's 70-something years old. It might have been his dentures.

00:07:19 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 2:

He was crazy. Trust me, he was.

00:07:22 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 3:

It was asthma. He was breathing.

00:07:25 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 1:

Don't the kids normally keep you up when you're trying to take naps? You haven't got that mom, those mom ears where you can't hear anything?

00:07:32 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 5:

So normally I nap when the kids are at school. The kids don't get off the bus until about 4 or 15. So unless there's like a half day or something, I don't normally have kids if I'm napping, to be honest.

00:07:42 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

Because I was going to say, because usually, you know, I'm at a point I can sleep through anything.

00:07:47 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 5:

But I will say my kids sometimes, if they are home and I need to sleep, if they're watching TV and they like to cuddle with me, like having the TV on and they're silent when they're watching TV, I'm out with that. But this was just like that one thing that I couldn't, I couldn't do it.

00:08:04 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

Chelsea's had people come and do stuff at our house and I'll be on the couch sleeping and like people will come in and go, oh, I feel horrible. She's like, you could be literally jackhammering in here, and he will sleep through absolutely everything.

00:08:18 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but to that, you ever have somebody mow their lawn, like, super early in the morning, and it's right outside your window, and that wakes you up?

00:08:24 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

Saturday mornings, Mike, the neighbors who mow their lawn before 9 o'clock in the morning. I know there's some that do, like, they'll wait until, like, 8 o'clock, but even 8 o'clock is too early, right? Yeah, I think so.

00:08:36 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 2:

I think any time, because it's always right by your window. For some reason, it's always right by the window in your bedroom.

00:08:41 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 5:

See, that lulls me to sleep. The sound of the lawnmowers. Yeah, I'm good. That's like a noise. That's the sound my noisemaker makes.

00:08:48 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

Like that white noise kind of sound. Well, look, try living in an apartment complex where they don't just do one lawn. They do all the lawns. The loudest, oldest machine in the world. You got the guy next door. I got the whole cul-de-sac.

00:09:04 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 1:

A couple of texters here. Kenyatta, one of our favorites. We love you, Kenyatta. She says, you should have used some of Smith's earplugs that he sells at school. 586 says, I, in capital letters, knew Mojo was going to go there. A laughing emoji on it. 844-EMOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Couple questions to this one here. What woke you up? You'll have to call us up and tell us. And then the second one is, do you think Shannon's as crazy as we think she's crazy for, like, letting some painter guy come and, girl, you're crazy.

00:09:43 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 5:

I don't have a choice, though. Like, I live by myself, so what else am I going to do? No, I know.

00:09:47 - 00:09:48 | Unknown:

Not nap.

00:09:48 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, not nap. I know.

00:09:50 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 5:

I mean, what are you going to take? Please, take whatever you want and help me clean out my house.

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

What's going on, Hampton? How you doing? Good. How are you guys? Fantastic.

00:09:59 - 00:10:00 | Unknown:

Fantastic.

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 5:

buddy what's up so i was gonna say i lived in germany the past three years and in germany they have quiet hours so you cannot cut or wash your car or anything before 9 a.m and after 5 p.m

00:10:12 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 1:

oh you cannot do anything 5 p.m is very early that is early yeah quiet 5 30 what'd you say do you not have that michigan no not that why in ohio they have that i always like when you say Do you not have that in Michigan? You always sound like we're calling from Germany.

00:10:30 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 6:

Sometimes it feels like I'm in Germany when I'm here. I'm not going to lie. Your rules are weird sometimes.

00:10:34 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 1:

Is that an Ohio thing that they actually do the same thing?

00:10:37 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 6:

Now I don't know if it's an Ohio thing or just a Sylvania thing. That seems like it would be a Sylvania thing. But, yeah, there are quiet hours. How do I know?

00:10:44 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 1:

We have quiet hours, but nobody pays attention to them. Not even the neighbors don't pay attention to them. The law doesn't pay attention to them.

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 6:

Our cops have been called on us a lot.

00:10:54 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, they will? What do they call the police in Germany?

00:10:59 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 5:

It's a high five in the police ice.

00:11:01 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 1:

Yes. By the way, that's so cool that you're listening to us in Germany. What time is it in Germany?

00:11:07 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no, I'm home now. I'm home now. I just got home.

00:11:10 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 3:

Is this the Hampton that did five lies to tell your mom last week? Yes, it is. Oh, Hampton.

00:11:15 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 1:

Hampton, we love you, buddy. Serving our country. We appreciate it.

00:11:19 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to forget your name.

00:11:20 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 1:

When do you go back, Hampton? I go back in March. Actually, we can't call you Hampton. We've got to go, Hampton. i actually i actually the other day met uh a woman who used to babysit you when you were a little child yeah she came up to me at a some woman that came up to me at a restaurant and said that uh she said that uh she goes i used to babysit uh hampton from five lies tell your mom and i said uh you know you should have spanked him uh katie what's going on how you doing

00:11:51 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 7:

Okay, first time call I long time listening Hold on a second

00:11:57 - 00:11:59 | Speaker 1:

Shannon's taking a nap here I gotta do it quietly

00:11:59 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 7:

I wish

00:12:00 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 1:

What's going on?

00:12:03 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 7:

So I live in an apartment Complexes, four little apartments The walls are really thin And I use a sleep app And it records me If I'm snoring And so when I woke up this morning I'm listening to the snores It was only a few And then after the snore I would hear a knock on the wall So last night I was disrupting my neighbor's sleep With my snoring Because then they were knocking on the wall

00:12:33 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 2:

That's how loud you were snoring

00:12:35 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 1:

That's kind of a proud moment though Isn't it?

00:12:41 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 7:

No

00:12:41 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 1:

That's as ladylike As I like my ladies Right there Give me a good snore Uh, what's up, Sean?

00:12:51 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 3:

Hey, what's up, bro?

00:12:52 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 1:

Nothing much, buddy. What's going on?

00:12:55 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 3:

Shannon, Meg, and Kevin, what's good? Hey! Good morning.

00:12:57 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 1:

Don't forget Mike and, uh, KP, Lydia, and, uh, the exec.

00:13:01 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 3:

What's up, Lydia, Mike, KP, all y'all, what's good, man? I love y'all show. Anyway, yeah, man, she, well, I go, I go to work, like, I'm on my way to work right now, and my, uh, my fiance, she's, uh, a night shift worker, and when she comes in at 12 midnight and 1 o'clock, she likes to wake me up and tell me about her day. Like, girl,

00:13:23 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 4:

I gotta get up in the morning and go to sleep. I gotta go to work. And she, you know what I'm saying? And she just gets up and wakes me up and tells me, well, you know what, such and such is. I don't care what such and such is.

00:13:38 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 1:

She's just trying to keep the relationship fresh, you know? She's excited to see you.

00:13:42 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. He's like, no. If you keep doing this, the relationship is going to rock.

00:13:49 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 1:

I love it, buddy. Thank you, man. See you, Sean. What's up, Natasha?

00:13:54 - 00:14:12 | Speaker 6:

Hi. So I'm fairly new to Michigan. I just moved here about a year or so ago. So I'm a new listener. Oh, hold on. So I moved in with my mother-in-law, and one of the things I have never, ever experienced in my life is waking up to cats vomiting. Oh, Lord.

00:14:12 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 1:

A cat vomit. KP.

00:14:14 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 6:

on you on the bed or just near you near you in the next room I don't know what it is about that sound but it wakes me up so quick

00:14:24 - 00:14:28 | Speaker 1:

where did you move from

00:14:28 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 6:

Toronto actually welcome

00:14:31 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 1:

do I speak a foreign language to you do I sound a little different

00:14:35 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 6:

no we love you thank you we love you

00:14:42 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 1:

thank you for listening

00:14:43 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah?

00:14:47 - 00:14:49 | Speaker 1:

Jesus is on the phone with us, guys.

00:14:49 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 2:

Whoa. Jesus, what's up, Jesus?

00:14:53 - 00:14:54 | Speaker 1:

What's up?

00:14:54 - 00:14:55 | Speaker 2:

What's going on, baby?

00:14:56 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

What's going on? We love you. Peace be with you. Thank you.

00:15:00 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 3:

What's going on, buddy? Is it Jesus or Jesus?

00:15:04 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 1:

Either or, you know. It's kind of the same.

00:15:06 - 00:15:07 | Speaker 3:

All right. What's up, our Lord and Savior?

00:15:08 - 00:15:22 | Speaker 1:

Kind of the same. Unfortunately, I was woken up last night from my neighbor's dog upstairs. Poor guy was just kind of scratching himself all night. All I heard was tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap all night long.

00:15:23 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 3:

Jeez. So another animal situation, huh, where the animals are keeping you up all night?

00:15:29 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, a little bit. I mean, I can't do, you know, I can't say anything. I just, you know, feel bad about him.

00:15:34 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 3:

Well, that's apartment living. I'm going to tell you this. I feel bad if I ever go visit my son Joe that I walk like a fat man.

00:15:42 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my neighbor upstairs.

00:15:44 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 3:

It's like, I mean, seriously, Joe's like, hey, Dad, can you walk a little lighter? I'm like, I don't think I can.

00:15:51 - 00:16:29 | Speaker 2:
