I saw something yesterday that was wild. So I was in the gym parking lot. Believe it or not, I went to the gym to work out. Oh, yeah.

00:01:54 - 00:01:56 | Speaker 4:

How did that go? I thought you'd be all complaining today. I'm sore today.

00:01:56 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 3:

I'm a little sore today, yes. I'm competing, by the way, in the next Olympics. I just want you to know that. And what's your sport? Leg wrestling. Yes. I am a world-class leg wrestler.

00:02:07 - 00:02:08 | Speaker 4:

All right.

00:02:08 - 00:02:13 | Speaker 3:

One, two, three. Ever do that where you lift your legs up and you have to do the three thing and then you have to leg wrestle? I'll leg wrestle you after this topic.

00:02:14 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 4:

I won't do it. No. Yes, please. I think Zach should do it. Such good social, please.

00:02:19 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 3:

I'm a gold medalist at that. So I witnessed something in the parking lot, which I thought was pretty crazy. I witnessed what I thought was somebody just getting their car towed, only to realize it was somebody getting their car repoed. And I was shocked to see this. And I was telling the story to a couple of our car dealership advertisers that I had saw this because I talked yesterday to a couple of the people from Gordon. And I talked to the Steve over at Zod and they were telling me that they're in Michigan. There's a record number of car repossessions happening where people, you know, aren't paying their car payments or can't pay their car payments and their cars are getting repossessed. So I wanted to bring this up as a topic on the air because I've always heard stories about the repo man. But it was the first time that I've ever witnessed the repo man going in and taking the car. And it made me start thinking, I wonder if we have any listeners that are listening to the show that have either, A, had their car repossessed, and what did you come out to? Like an empty parking spot or an empty driveway? Or B, who right now is afraid of the repo man? And who is hiding from the repo man right now as we speak? 844-MOJO-LIVE. 844-665-6548. text 95500 and are there any repo man that are listening? That's top five

00:03:49 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 4:

scariest jobs alive. To be a repo man? You think that those guys get shot at? Bro, could you imagine? I would think they're robbing me. Come on, man. Like, that is your job is to, at whatever time in the day, to go to someone's, I guess primarily their house or wherever the car is located, because sometimes they have the little locator jacks on there. Wait, what? Yeah. Do they? Yeah, tracking devices, yeah. I had a girl staying at the crib. This is years back. I had a girl staying at the crib. Long story short, it's the morning time. She's supposed to leave. She leaves out the apartment. She leaves out my, I'm on the first floor. Leaves out my apartment, walks out the door. I'm thinking she gone. All of a sudden, I get a call. She's like, can you buzz me back in and come open the door? I come open the door, long story short, they done re-pulled her car. While she was at your house? While she was at my house, bro. Somebody had to come get her. Wait, you didn't even drive her home? It was too early. I had things to do.

00:04:47 - 00:04:48 | Unknown:

Oh, my God.

00:04:48 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 4:

What is Uber for, bro?

00:04:50 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 5:

Am I the a-hole?

00:04:51 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

What? I have to take her home? Why? I wasn't going to take her home in the first place. She came to you to deliver the goods. And I deliver goods, too.

00:05:00 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 1:

Super dumb question.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 7:

All goods were delivered. They don't have to alert you that they're taking your car?

00:05:05 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 4:

No. They don't want to alert you.

00:05:07 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 7:

I'm saying after they've taken it, they don't say, like, your car is now in our possession. Got it? No, I know by a texter. They got a confirmation email with a tracking link. Right?

00:05:16 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 3:

You think they're doing that kind of courtesy? Hell no.

00:05:21 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 1:

Miranda, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. We're talking about the repo man and all these cars getting repossessed and seeing that yesterday. What's up?

00:05:30 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 2:

um so we went into um well first my husband was having lots of problems with this car and they wouldn't come out and fix it so he stopped paying we went in to have our baby at the hospital and we came home and there was no car oh my gosh they never alerted us that they was coming they never not just to tell us they took it we just came home and it was gone now you say that

00:05:57 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 1:

You were having problems with the car, so you guys used to stop paying on the thing. Were you happy just to see the car gone, seeing that the car was a pain in the butt for you guys, or no?

00:06:07 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 2:

I mean, it was a pain in the butt, so we were glad it was gone, but at the same time, we still had to continue to pay on it. Oh, jeez, okay, yeah.

00:06:15 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 1:

No seat, no seat. Thank God it wasn't the car you drove to the hospital.

00:06:18 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 2:

Right.

00:06:19 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah, definitely.

00:06:22 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

What's happening? Justin, how you doing?

00:06:25 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 6:

Not too bad.

00:06:27 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

Justin, tell everybody when you got your car repossessed.

00:06:31 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 6:

Oh, well, you know, I was going through some hard times and couldn't make the payments. So it was around Christmas time and I woke up Christmas Eve and we were supposed to go to a Christmas party and I walked out. My truck was gone. I had no idea, was ready to load up all the stuff. And, you know, I had to explain to my wife in the moment.

00:06:52 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh, so she didn't have any clue that you hadn't been paying on it.

00:06:56 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 6:

I had no idea.

00:06:57 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 1:

So question for you, and this is maybe not for you, but for the repo people. Do they take your personal belongings there?

00:07:04 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

That's what I was going to ask. What if you had gifts in the car or something? You've got to go get them from the lot.

00:07:08 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

Oh, really?

00:07:08 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 6:

So if they see you, I guess they might ask you if you have any personal items in there, but I think they just took the truck and it was gone.

00:07:16 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Crazy. Terrence, what's going on? I still want to talk to a repo person. If you're somebody that is a repo person, will you call us up? Because Cap brings up a really interesting point of, do you guys, you know, get people like that attack you or go after you? What's up, Terrence?

00:07:32 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 5:

Terrence, how you doing? Yeah, I had my car repoed at a mall, taking my son to get some jeans and a movie. But I was just behind in payments. But, yeah, if you have personal items in your car and you call the repo man or the company, they would allow you to go to your car and get your personal items out of the facility.

00:07:50 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 1:

But how do you know who to call? I mean, what do they do? Do they leave you something?

00:07:56 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 5:

No, I called the police first, and the police pulled my license plate up, and they said, yeah, your car is repoed, because the repo, people call the police when your car is tagged.

00:08:05 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

So you don't report it stolen. Oh, okay, yeah.

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 5:

I called them that first.

00:08:09 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 1:

How many payments are you behind? Because I always wonder, like, how many payments will it take?

00:08:15 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 5:

I was behind by two, three months. That's it? When you called the person, they were real, they wasn't forgiving. But this was like a couple years ago. I'm good now, but it was a couple of years ago, and it really affected me and my son because I was going to the movies. I was taking them shopping, and we'd come out to the mall, and my car was going. I'm like, dang, somebody stole my car. I had weaponry in there. I had all my stuff in there. Oh, wow. It was terrible. Wow. Two or three months, though, does it seem like that? That was registered, so they did allow me to go get the rest of my stuff so it wouldn't be confiscated.

00:08:44 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that doesn't seem like a very long time. I would think it would be like six months to a year or something like that.

00:08:50 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. You're not playing.

00:08:51 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 1:

Kayla.

00:08:53 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 3:

Hello?

00:08:54 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

Kayla is currently hiding from the repo, man. How are you hiding your car?

00:09:00 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm currently driving my sister's car right now, and I'm hiding from the repo. I'm just leaving it in her garage.

00:09:08 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:09:08 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

00:09:09 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 4:

They can't open your garage to get it.

00:09:11 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 1:

Okay. Wait, wait, wait. By the way, I sound like Vonda. What am I saying?

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

00:09:15 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

I was like, wait a second. Why did I say it like that? But that's interesting. I did not know that.

00:09:20 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Yeah, they normally come, like, during nighttime or early morning, so I normally just, you know, make sure it's hitting around that time so they can't find it.

00:09:30 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 1:

And I'm assuming with all these cars having GPS systems on them, that the GPS systems give away where your car is. They probably know it's in your sister's garage, wouldn't they?

00:09:43 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

Right, they can't break in. Yeah.

00:09:45 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 1:

But they can't go in there.

00:09:46 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 4:

But make sure you cover up all the windows. Yeah, there you go. Why? Because if they see it inside, they can call the police and have the police come to say that you have to, like, open it up. So you've got to cover up the windows. They say no face, no case, no car, no case.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 7:

You guys all want to know why Megan knows so much. I mean, I wasn't going to ask, bro, but we here now.

00:10:05 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 1:

I've never had a card repoed, thank God, like, knock on wood. I used to love the show Repo. Like, it was Repo Wars or Repo something. Like, I used to watch the hell out of that show.

00:10:17 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 7:

Really?

00:10:18 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, because it's scary. People get angry. People run and try to jump into the car because you can't tow it if there's a person in it. Like, there are people that get sneaky. Operation Repo. Yeah. And there's a guy on TikTok who does it, and it's sneaky as hell, and I love it.

00:10:34 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 7:

Interesting. I'm learning more and more. I've got to start watching more TV like Maggie does.

00:10:38 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 5:

Okay, our techs are going crazy right now about this.

00:10:42 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 7:

Listen to Maggie here. Maggie?

00:10:46 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 5:

Hey.

00:10:46 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 7:

Where were you when your car got repoed?

00:10:49 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 2:

We were at Disney World.

00:10:50 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my gosh.

00:10:52 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

Well, do you think they saw your social media, and they're like, she's spending $10,000 a day to be at Disney World so she can afford to pay her car payments?

00:11:00 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 2:

No, we were, I was going through a divorce and I was, my ex-husband was court ordered to pay the car payments and he did not. Oh, wow.

00:11:09 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 5:

Do you think he did that on purpose?

00:11:10 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 2:

So this would happen? Oh, no, he did it on purpose. He knew what we were. He never said a thing, but they did not give us back our stuff at all.

00:11:18 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 7:

Wow.

00:11:18 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 3:

That stinks. What a terrible situation.

00:11:21 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, they sold the car at auction. Yep.

00:11:23 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 7:

Oh, man. Hold on. We've got, Lydia's like shaking like crazy in the other room. Do you see her? She's like, when she's got a good call, she shakes like...

00:11:33 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 6:

Our lovely Lydia. She's the angel of the show. But every now and then, a chick's got to shake some breezy ass, right?

00:11:40 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm shaking some breezy ass.

00:11:42 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, there you go.

00:11:43 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you, Tony.

00:11:45 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 7:

C, initial C, are you there? Hey, what's up? You're being voice disguised. C, you've been hiding your car for how long right now from the repo, man? I'm about 10 and a half months out. What? Whoa, what kind of car is it?

00:12:04 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 3:

I'm a Kia Toronto.

00:12:06 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 7:

Okay, and how are you hiding it, and where are you hiding it?

00:12:12 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

Well, I've had it in, like, two different garages, and it's got a new paint job on it, and I took the badges off of it.

00:12:18 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God, so you actually made it look different so that they can't even pass it out.

00:12:23 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 3:

Man, it has a disguise on it. That's unbelievable.

00:12:26 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 7:

Just like his voice. He's disguising his car. Okay. And so this has been for, gosh, a long time that you've been doing this, huh?

00:12:37 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, like 10 and a half months. Almost a year. Payments of like $1,000 a month.

00:12:43 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 7:

Oh, geez. What the hell are you doing paying $1,000 a month? That was a bad deal you got. Hold on one second. Stay right there. I'm going to leave you right there because I'm going to come back to you because I got Kevin, the repo man, on with us. Kevin, he's been hiding from you for a year. Did you hear that?

00:12:59 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah. The problem is we'll either eventually find it or, two, they'll just start levying his bank account and his paycheck. Yeah.

00:13:09 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 7:

But is that a genius move on his part to change the badges on the vehicle and paint job and all that stuff? Will you guys, like, not even look at a car that you don't think is the right color car?

00:13:19 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 6:

I mean, the color, it can always be wrong, but I mean, it's definitely...

00:13:27 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 7:

You cut out there for a second. It's definitely what?

00:13:31 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 6:

Oh, it definitely makes it harder for us.

00:13:34 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 7:

Wow. That is wildness, man. I'm just, I'm blown away. By the way, have you ever had anybody shoot at you that you were repossessing a car from?

00:13:42 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 6:

no i've been doing this about 10 years now and i haven't had a single uh gun uh shot at me i've had a lot of them in my face knives i need damn wow do you carry uh no uh a lot of the repossession insurances won't let us carry in our trucks okay it's just a liability you know kevin i got a

00:14:04 - 00:14:09 | Speaker 1:

question for you are you like a a bounty hunter like do you get paid per repo or do you get like

00:14:09 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 7:

a base rate i get paid per repo so you gotta get them yeah how many repos you average in a month

00:14:17 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 6:

like what's what's the quote about a hundred oh my god i work uh mainly in the toledo area but uh most of northwestern uh ohio and uh monroe lunaway um macomb county kevin be honest where the most repos oh where they at i mean uh i have i'm also the agent manager for my company uh we have usually a thousand repos a month uh and i usually have i'm usually in the top three of

00:14:51 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 3:

those agents oh jeez you better not leave behind any dna because somebody's gonna do some voodoo on you well i would have died if you would have

00:15:00 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 5:

said perrysburg hey which is what the for those that are listening across the world that's the

00:15:05 - 00:15:11 | Speaker 4:

nicest area in ohio well ottawa hills is but perrysburg stinks they're ottawa hills

00:15:11 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 6:

real quick i gotta grab roy the repo man roy the repo man what's up roy roy are you there yeah hey i'm not a repo man but i'm finance manager at a car dealership okay i'm sorry

00:15:24 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 5:

Boy, you just ruined it for me. Thanks.

00:15:27 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 6:

No, no, he's got a great story.

00:15:29 - 00:15:30 | Speaker 4:

Tell us the repo story.

00:15:32 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 6:

We were putting GPSs in the car, so we knew where the cars were. And this one customer wasn't making their payments, so we hired this repo company. Kind of a shady repo company, if there's not shady ones. Anyway, so they went out to pick up the car. 12 o'clock at night, he calls me and says, hey, I got your repo. I said, great. I said, bring it back to the lot. He goes, what do you want me to do with the kid in the back seat?

00:15:53 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. You are lying.

00:15:57 - 00:15:58 | Speaker 6:

This is insane.

00:15:58 - 00:16:00 | Speaker 4:

Can you not see them, kid?

00:16:00 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 6:

The lady went out to start her car, went back in the house. They pulled off. The car was running. They just jumped in the car and drove it off. Looked in the back seat, and there was a baby in a car seat.

00:16:10 - 00:16:11 | Unknown:

Oh, my God.

00:16:11 - 00:16:22 | Speaker 6:

I said, take the car back. So they took the car back, dropped it off, got back in the truck, and pulled down the street. She came out of the house, got in her car, and drove off like she didn't even know anything happened. Oh, my God.

00:16:22 - 00:16:57 | Speaker 5:

That is a crazy story. Oh, my God. Why are you listening to any other radio show than this radio show today? Hello, it is Ryan. And we could all use an extra bright spot in our day, couldn't we? I feel like the American dream is alive, but not well.
