How do you do the morning show? Remind me that I need to bring Lydia in here. Lydia just got back from a trip with her mom. They went to Vegas.

00:02:20 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 2:

Oh my God, it looks so fun.

00:02:22 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 4:

Lydia had a crazy experience with TSA, so we'll have to talk about that coming up here in just a matter of moments. We have free money to give away, $1,000 for you to win coming up here in just a few. And is there any chance that we can get Blake, PZ, and Jay, the Plow Guys, back on with us before the end of the show? I must be able to say hi to those guys one more time before they leave. So, Blake, if you're listening, you'll have to call us up. All right, it is Mojo on the Morning Show. Shannon, so your sister went to that secret Marshalls. Is it not so secret now that you talked about it?

00:02:58 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 2:

I think I did give the location.

00:03:00 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 1:

Was the secret, was it that they have a really big selection or that they have sales that other Marshalls don't have?

00:03:06 - 00:03:22 | Speaker 2:

No, it's just a really, really good Marshalls. And if you're as obsessed with Marshalls, HomeGoods, TJs as I am, like when you find a good one, you find a good one. And this is one that I feel like has just been untapped forever. It's double the size. They have really, really good stuff. Really?

00:03:23 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 4:

So they have different stuff than other Marshalls do because the size is so nice. Yes. Okay.

00:03:28 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I get Zara stuff there, Yeti stuff there. Good stuff. Yeah. You're kidding. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Why are you keeping it secret? Because I don't want everybody to go there.

00:03:37 - 00:03:37 | Unknown:

Anyway.

00:03:37 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 2:

Oh. Well, my sister knows where it is. So her and her best friend were there yesterday, and I stopped by to see my nieces last night. So she was telling me the story and I thought it was so funny because, I mean, we've all had like idiot moments in public where your face turns totally red and you're praying that nobody else sees you. But her and her friend were at the secret marshals, as I call it, just reading the store because they had so many good things. And my two-year-old niece, Stella, was sitting in the car. And so they checked out and my sister said their cart was piled with all of their bags and stuff. And they go to push the cart out of the store into the parking lot, and it wouldn't budge. It was stuck. So they tried, like, you know, looking at the wheels and figuring out, like, is one of the wheels stuck in the tile of the floor? Well, that wasn't it.

00:04:23 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 4:

I hate when I get a cart that's like that.

00:04:24 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

A bad cart. You get one bad wheel, and your whole shopping experience is blown. Well, it wasn't that. So then they both tried lifting the cart up. Again, my niece and all their stuff is in it. That wouldn't work. They tried giving it big pushes. Nope. still stuck they tried getting a running start to push it out the door like the kids do in harry potter to get to platform my sister's like at this point we've been trying to get the darn cart out to the parking lot for a good five six seven minutes to no avail finally an employee comes up to them and he is dying laughing and he's

00:05:00 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 4:

like ladies there is a magnet that prevents the carts from leaving the store oh my gosh

00:05:08 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

how do they expect you to get your stuff to the parking lot carry it oh because they don't want they don't want to have somebody have to retrieve the carts right right oh i hate that i don't know

00:05:21 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 5:

but i hate that my sister's like i've never like seen that before so she had no idea she's like we

00:05:27 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

looked like the two biggest idiots in the store i i hate that so i golfed in a couple of golf courses where they do this where they have the carts won't go to certain areas you know they don't want you driving your golf cart like up on the green yeah so i would take a golf cart out of the golf course well like or taking it completely off the golf course and putting it on i-75 okay i might have done that so they they'll have it so it stops at a certain area the problem though is It will stop, and it won't go forward anymore for you to even turn around. You have to either reverse it or push it. So I've had that happen before. Actually, I went golfing with Paul Corvino, our old boss. We talked about him earlier this morning. God rest his soul. He's now in Dallas. Oh, I was like, wait. No, he didn't die. His career just died. He's in Dallas now working for iHeart, not for Detroit. But Paul Corvino dropped the golf cart on the green. The problem was he's like completely like out of it sometimes and doesn't know what he's doing and just starts driving. But that's why they have that. They have that on golf carts. The idea of having that on carts that are in stores.

00:06:36 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 4:

Is it a theft prevention thing? Is it they don't want people taking the carts out to the parking lot and leaving them there? I don't know.

00:06:42 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 2:

No, I think that honestly, I think they do it for their own not having to go out and retrieve their carts. It's probably they don't, you know, you know what I mean? Like how grocery stores do. You know what they need to come up with? Somebody, you'll be genius if you do this. Why doesn't Kroger and, you know, Meyer and, you know, Trader Joe's and all those guys, why doesn't somebody come up with an autonomous cart? A cart that just follows you around so you don't even have to push it. It just follows you around, and then you can tell the cart. Because, guys, this is the time we have cars that drive themselves. Go. Go back over there. You know, you tell the cart where to go. And then you don't have carts hitting cars and things. We've shopped in the airport. Just an idea.

00:07:29 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 3:

In L.A., they had that store where you don't even check out. You just walk around the store, grab what you want, and leave.

00:07:35 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 2:

The Whole Foods that does that?

00:07:37 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, it was in the airport. It was like a little gift shop and snack. You can get your bottle of water, your snacks, your chips, your magazine, whatever you want.

00:07:46 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 2:

Did it feel weird?

00:07:47 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. But it just knows. it has all these cameras in the ceiling and they record what you touch what you pick up and what you're walking out the gates with and then it just automatically charges your card how do they know you have to swipe your card ahead of time or something you just you wave your credit card over the sensor to get in the store and then it just attaches itself to your body somehow it knows that credit card goes with this i don't know if i love that or i hate that the lady said it's

00:08:14 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 2:

incredibly accurate chelsea would never let me go in there and do that because you know why because Whenever we fly at the airport You have to put your credit card in there And then when you're leaving You put your credit card back in and it charges your credit card

00:08:27 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 4:

I only have two credit cards And I'm like

00:08:29 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 2:

I always forget which of the two cards I've used So I'm sitting there

00:08:33 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 4:

Is it my debit card or is it my credit card

00:08:35 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 2:

Like all thrown off by that whole thing

00:08:38 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

I'll help you next time you're at the airport Call me and give me your credit card number And I'll remember for you

00:08:43 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 2:

They have the whole There is that whole food concept I thought that they were going to stop it because I thought that they found there was too much theft.

00:08:53 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

I don't know how there could be theft because it knows what you're carrying and what you put back on the shelf.

00:09:00 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 2:

No, because I think Whole Foods is different where it's not that you swipe the card at the beginning. It's basically that you just show it to the camera and the camera picks it up. But a lot of times people were hiding it to the camera or something.

00:09:09 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 1:

I thought Whole Foods was using your Amazon account.

00:09:12 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's what it does here.

00:09:13 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 3:

Which the store could do. I could have done that as well in the airport because it was run by the scene.

00:09:18 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 2:

But couldn't you steal some stuff? Like, couldn't you hide it from there?

00:09:22 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 1:

I thought it was based off of when you lifted it off the shelf, it was considered in your cart. So you couldn't really steal anything, but the computer program could miss what you were picking up. And I know at the beginning they said it was worth the few losses that they had for more people to give it a shot and get hooked on it. But I don't know how that was going to work, like, long term.

00:09:42 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 3:

They're saving so much money because they have zero employees checking out. But it's not a camera that's looking visually for your item, so you can't hide it from the camera. It's like a sensor that's built into all the products, so it knows it's on your body.

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

What about what I do? And this is my thing going to any store.

00:10:00 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 5:

go to Kroger because I love them so much but I've gotten burned too much by bad apples a few bad apples kind of ruin it for everybody so now when I go into the store is it bad that I actually will bite into the apples and eat one of the apples before I decide if I'm going to choose the apple

00:10:14 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 3:

wait but you have to pay for that do you pay for it no I well I figure I'm going to buy about five

00:10:19 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 5:

or six of them so they're going to get me to buy five or six to get one rid of one that's not the same as like trying a grape that is straight up stealing why is it not the same of trying a grape

00:10:28 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 4:

They can't sell the apple if you take a bite out of it.

00:10:33 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 5:

I don't remember that in Aladdin. What was the Aladdin one? She took the apple, and he was going to cut his hand off or whatever. Okay, well. That's stealing. That's what I'm getting at. Chelsea actually makes.

00:10:43 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 3:

But you don't bring the core up with you and say, I also ate one if you buy them?

00:10:47 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 5:

No, I'll just throw it in the garbage. I've never had anybody say anything to me. Nobody's ever said anything. I'm grabbing it. You take one.

00:10:54 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 4:

You really don't understand the concept.

00:10:56 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 5:

No, but can I explain something to you, though? I've been into apples that have been horrible And I've just thrown them away because they're awful

00:11:02 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 3:

If they're mushy when I get them home I hate it

00:11:04 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 5:

And I tell the produce guy That's there and I'll say to him I'll go listen This apple should not be sold And the guy's actually appreciative Like he'll tell me oh what's the matter with it and I'll show him the thing

00:11:13 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

Well I was having my lunch in your produce It wasn't as good as the other two I just had

00:11:20 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 5:

Chelsea said to me the other day When we went through the Kroger and went through the grocery store She said to me she goes you are like a deli counter person's worst nightmare. You're the reason why they have the already packaged meats in front that you can just grab and go.

00:11:35 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 4:

You want to taste every single thing.

00:11:37 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 5:

She said that I ate an entire sub sandwich

00:11:39 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 4:

of meat the other day.

00:11:41 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 5:

I'm like, I just want to try that a little bit. No, I don't like that one. I like boar's head cracked pepper. Let me try a little bit of that. That's the best one. No, the honey maple is the best

00:11:51 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 3:

of the ham. We go to a pizza place that has an ice cream counter and if I tell Lucy, she's not allowed to get ice cream after dinner. She's like, then I'm just going to go ask him for a sample. And so that's what she does to get ice cream.

00:12:01 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 5:

That's my girl right there. What's going on, Ann? You're voice disguised.

00:12:06 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 2:

Hi. It was just really funny because, like, I was on TikTok the other day, and some stores do it if you steal. Like, it was a Target. And, you know, the people are trying to get, like, to their cars, and they're like, why does a cart just stop? And it's because if you steal something, they don't want to give it away.

00:12:28 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 5:

Oh, so wait a second.

00:12:29 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 3:

Well, this was like this for everybody. The cart stopped. There's like a magnetic start for everybody.

00:12:34 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, three people have already told me the cheat, the hack to get over the... Really?

00:12:40 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 5:

Get it out the store. Yeah.

00:12:41 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 4:

That's a hack. Oh, it's real easy to get those carts right past that magnet.

00:12:45 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 5:

Don't tell her. Not for Jacqueline. And you want it so bad, don't you? You want to figure out what it is?

00:12:54 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I do, actually.

00:12:57 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 5:

We're not telling you.

00:12:59 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:12:59 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 5:

What are you trying to steal?

00:13:01 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 4:

Venmo me the price of one apple so I can buy Mojo an apple.

00:13:04 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 5:

Do you think it's stealing if I eat an apple?

00:13:08 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 2:

No. Can I tell you something? Yeah. I do it a lot of times. When I'm in Walmart or anything, if I'm shopping, yeah, I'll pick up a bag of chips and I'll just eat them.

00:13:17 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 4:

But then do you take the bag?

00:13:19 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 3:

I've done that before, but I go, yeah, I take the bag.

00:13:21 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 4:

So you put the bag to the register and scan it, or you just throw it away?

00:13:24 - 00:13:25 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:13:25 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Yeah, but he's not doing that with the apple.

00:13:28 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 5:

No, there's a difference between an apple that grows on a tree. I can't wait to hear the difference. And a bag of chips that is made in a factory. It's an apple.

00:13:40 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 3:

Okay, love you guys. Love you too. People are texting us that if you ask them at Kroger, they will cut up an apple for you. Is that true, Tiffany? So you could sample it.

00:13:51 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 2:

Yes, that is absolutely true. Like apples, peaches, anything that's single serve, if you ask them, they'll go in the back and like cut it up.

00:13:59 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 3:

I never knew that. You work at Kroger or you've just done it? My mom actually did like a lot of my life.

00:14:08 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 4:

Now, if you go to the same Kroger and ask every time you shop, they might be like, okay, dude. How about can I ask them to make me an acai bowl?

00:14:17 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 2:

They're not going to make you They're not going to make you a sandwich mojo

00:14:21 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 5:

I'm telling you man You go up there The lady had no problem doing it She was sweet She was cutting up all the stuff

00:14:29 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 4:

If there's no one behind you in line

00:14:30 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 5:

Drew what's up

00:14:32 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 1:

Hey how's it going guys

00:14:34 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 5:

What's going on with you

00:14:35 - 00:15:03 | Speaker 1:

Hey I got a funny story So my son and I were actually in Kroger And I was buying apples and raspberries And stuff like that And I had seen a half ate an apple In the middle of it And I actually took a Snapchat And I posted it on my story Because it was just funny It's all these apples And you just see this one in the middle That's just half eight And now I know it was you, Mojo Now I know for any half-eaten produce in every grocery store.

00:15:03 - 00:15:09 | Speaker 6:

I promise it wasn't. I always get rid of my evidence. Voice Disguise Kim. What's up, Kim?

00:15:10 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 1:

Hello. Hi. So I just wanted to tell you a funny story. Like, you know how you walk in Walmart and you can order the chicken right there? Well, my sister would always order her chicken and walk through the store and eat it. And then she sent the empty container on the shelf, and they came and got her and took her in the office and almost arrested her for it. Really?

00:15:28 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 6:

Well, that's theft. I mean, if you're eating an entire, you know, rotisserie chicken.

00:15:33 - 00:15:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:15:34 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's theft. Wow, so she got busted doing it.

00:15:38 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:15:39 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 6:

Man, they don't mess around with that. But with the way that you do it, as long as she says, well, this chicken is bruised, and I didn't, you know, I just wanted to let you know that it's okay. Come on. Apples and oranges, Mike. That's what this is. I'm going to use every pun I possibly can. Take care of yourself. Thank you, Kim.
