this is mojo in the morning mojo mojo this is like an orgasm in a cup

00:02:12 - 00:02:55 | Unknown:

showtime We'll be right back.

00:02:55 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 3:

Oh, the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful Rookin' breaking storm cold today Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

00:03:26 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. They're laughing at us right now in Grand Rapids. I can hear Michael right now. Oh, it's just snow, guys. You guys wanted that snow that we always get. This ain't lake effect snow. This is some big, I don't know, BS snow. I don't know what it is, but snow has started in Detroit. Word of warning to our KISS listeners in Toledo. It's coming your way.

00:03:58 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 4:

It's coming the end. Yeah!

00:04:01 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 7:

I know. She's so excited. Why do you get so excited over stuff like this? We have to work.

00:04:07 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 4:

You want to know why? Because I know today I'm going to curl up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book and put myself in a giant comforter and just feel cozy.

00:04:21 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 7:

You did that on Monday. and there was no snow.

00:04:24 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, you don't need snow for that.

00:04:26 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 4:

But the aesthetic wasn't there. And this is all about the Instagram aesthetic.

00:04:31 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 1:

Because I love the Sunday snow we had. It was like, you know, you get a chance to relax, slow down. There's nowhere to go. Nobody's got to be out on the dangerous streets.

00:04:40 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 4:

To be fair, it will be nice to finally see my Christmas decorations in the snow.

00:04:44 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

All right, so here's the story as far as snow goes. The totals are actually going up right now. They at first were talking like four to eight inches of snow. Now they're saying like four to possibly.

00:05:00 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 1:

12 and they're doing a snow emergency and it was that it was just going to be like all everybody down you know river and towards uh the toledo the high ohio michigan border that you guys were going to get affected big time by this but it looks like it's gonna get pretty bad everywhere

00:05:16 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 3:

and it arrived a little earlier than anticipated so when i was watching the coverage yesterday i'm like all right they're gonna overblow this we'll get the minimal amount that you know they get excited this is finally the big snow and then this morning when i came out and the streets were already completely covered i thought wait a minute they said around 7 8 a.m for oakland county it's already it's already covered us so and it's slippery yeah it's slippery yeah be be careful

00:05:39 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 1:

and it's going to get even worse because the temperatures are going to drop pretty drastically into the 20s but um it's funny they gave us this warning for days and i thought it was a bunch of bs i kind of like laughed it off and here it is and then you know we'll officially get it and we can't complain can we even though no we've been doing okay this year there's another one coming

00:06:02 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 3:

this weekend they said another big snowstorm they're looking at my favorite are the people

00:06:07 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 1:

that uh overly prepare though for the storm even though i think that you should be prepared you you don't have to over like people go to the grocery store and they shop like they're feeding

00:06:18 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 3:

a thanksgiving meal to their family members but i think people use it as an excuse to just like buy junk food and gorge themselves. It's like you're buying stuff that you don't normally buy. It's like,

00:06:31 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 1:

yeah, we're going to be locked in our houses for days. I need flaming hot Cheetos.

00:06:38 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

Sometimes that's the only joy we find in life. Leave us alone. You know what? Speaking of warnings, I have known that my car cannot drive for like over a week. I talked about getting my tires replaced. Still bald. No, KP You can't go home today I changed my appointment So I had an appointment set up for Friday To get new tires And I changed it to today Which is cutting it very close Because the snow has already started So by the time I leave work Which I'm planning on leaving a little bit early It's going to take me so long To get to my appointment Are you going with her to help her with her tires?

00:07:15 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 3:

I just got to make sure she's okay

00:07:17 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 2:

It's going to take me very long to get there because i'm going to be driving five miles per hour like my car cannot drive in the snow right now i tested it the other day i almost slid into a like a pole so i have got to drive slow and also why does it take this long for me to do anything in life why do i need something life-threatening before i decide to go to an appointment you know the tire guys are going

00:07:43 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 3:

to be rolling their eyes they are like oh sorry let's rush for your emergency you didn't know you had tire problems.

00:07:49 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 2:

It's Mojo's tire, guys, so I feel like... Are you going to him? Yeah, I am. He's great. He is great. Bell tire brainer. Speaking of rolling your eyes, it's always the oil change guys that roll their eyes at me. They pull out that little stick and I'm like, oh, good for you. Yeah. And they're like, why is your oil... Why is it so low? And I'm like, because it's me. I'm the problem. It's me.

00:08:06 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 3:

I'm the problem. It's me.

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh.

00:08:09 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 3:

I have that story, by the way. All the senators who thought they were cool yesterday quoting Taylor Swift. In the Ticketmaster hearings. Oh, my gosh. It's too good. It's too good.

00:08:19 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 1:

All right, so here's the thing. If you are out on the roads, call us. Tell us how things are going. Let's do a little check-in right now in 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. The other thing I want to know is what is your go-to to buy at the store? Because Shannon and I joked about the Flaming Hot Cheetos and stuff like that. But I have friends of mine that go in. It's like they're going camping. They buy these.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

Loaves of bread. Yeah. I'm like, you don't even drink milk.

00:08:48 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 1:

And then the problem is they're either throwing stuff away or they're force-feeding their family ham sandwiches for days. So, you know, what's funny is that DoorDash is obviously our go-to for a lot of stuff. Like, we'll go get DoorDash. Like, today's not a day you can DoorDash because, A, it's going to be like a bajillion dollars. They'll probably upcharge you like a ton of it.

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

But also don't put those people in danger.

00:09:12 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

Well, and there's also less people. Yeah. Some people don't do it. Luke has his DoorDash account. And there have been times where, what is it? Oh, back when we were off. Remember the holiday, really cold, and then we got that bad snow? I turned his DoorDash on because I went and drove myself to Starbucks to go get Starbucks. And the Starbucks guy that was at the location I go to on Telegraph said, yeah, I'm leaving work early, and I'm going to go DoorDash. And I said, really? Why is that? He goes, they're giving him $25 minimums for orders. So he was going to make more money DoorDash than doing the Star Wars thing. So I was like, I'm going to take Luke's DoorDash.

00:09:51 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Let me give you a bit of nostalgia because it's just us old heads listening this morning because all the kids are sleeping in and are off school. Remember you'd go to Blockbuster?

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 6:

You were on a snow day, before the snow day, and you'd load up with, like, eight movies. We only had one day off of school, but you'd be like, we're going to rent ten movies and watch them all.

00:10:10 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 7:

I used to love that, having, like, all, and you'd go, you would. You would go one after another putting them in.

00:10:18 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 1:

Lucy did all of the things last night. The spoon under the pillow. She put a white crayon in the fridge or something. Pajamas inside out. Yeah, she was, like, doing all these things. And I said, loose, honey, I don't think the snow is coming until later in the day. And, of course, she doesn't have school, so it works. She's going to be so excited.

00:10:35 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 7:

Kathy, what's happening? Give us an update on the roads.

00:10:39 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 3:

Hi, Mojo, it's Kathy. I'm on I-75 right by University Drive, and I'm going 41 miles an hour. It's snow-covered, slippery, but the semis like to go a little faster than me.

00:10:50 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 7:

Doesn't that scare the crap out of you? What kind of car do you drive, Kathy?

00:10:54 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 3:

I have a Malibu.

00:10:56 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, that's the worst, isn't it? Especially in that area Where there are millions of semis Going back and forth And they're going so fast That you're afraid that you're going to get blown off the road

00:11:07 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 3:

Absolutely, absolutely I just had one I popped it up to about 50 And I think he went by at about 65

00:11:16 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 7:

Wow, that's crazy Be safe, okay

00:11:18 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 6:

You have to end your report I'm Kathy reporting for Mojo in the Morning From the streets

00:11:23 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 3:

I'm Kathy reporting for Mojo in the Live On the streets

00:11:27 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 7:

That's right. That was good. That was good, Kevin. Thank you. Brandon.

00:11:32 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Mojo. I took from Oxford this morning all the way down to Oak Park, 20 miles an hour. I had to take my charger because my Jeep's in the shop, so I'm on summertime.

00:11:43 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 7:

Wait, you're driving a charger in this?

00:11:47 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 2:

Yes, my rear-wheel drive charger because my Jeep's in the shop.

00:11:50 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 7:

That's basically a sled. I just want you to know. You're in a toboggan right now.

00:11:56 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that is very, very fun. 20 miles the whole way. It took me an hour and a half to get to work.

00:12:02 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God. Well, be safe.

00:12:03 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, be slow. Even I drove slow this morning. I never drive slow.

00:12:07 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 7:

I thought that you were behind me because there was somebody driving a Kia. It was exact color, everything of your car. And I thought you were driving directly behind me, so I was kind of, like, messing around with the person. It wasn't me. And it turns out it was a lady driving there. I felt bad for her. So what's happening, Mojo in the Morning? hi i'm sorry i'm sorry i lost your uh your name in the action darian what's going darian in ohio

00:12:31 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 5:

do we have any snow coming down yet uh i have no snow yeah but uh it's coming hopefully hopefully it holds off until i get off work yeah what are you a third shifter no actually i'm on day shift

00:12:47 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 7:

right now so i get off at 3 p.m oh no it's not oh no yeah sorry get ready my friend

00:12:53 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 5:

I'm a relief physician, so I really can't show up because of a level three. I have to stay at work and keep working.

00:12:59 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

Oh, man.

00:12:59 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 5:

So hopefully it'll hold off.

00:13:01 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 4:

Do you think we're going to hit – I think, like, I don't know, but I think we're going to hit a level three just because of how fast it's going to fall.

00:13:08 - 00:13:10 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, well, it looks like Northwest Ohio is going to get hammered the hardest.

00:13:11 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 7:

I still have to have Megan give me the Cliff Notes versions of that, like the different levels of that.

00:13:16 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 4:

I can do it real fast.

00:13:17 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, for everybody that's in Michigan that does it normally and just says,

00:13:21 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 4:

it's bad yeah so we have three left in michigan no they don't have them level one is just kind of like hey the roads are pretty dangerous right now drive drive a little bit more cautiously than you normally would level two is there's a lot of accidents right now don't call the cops unless um there's an injury in an accident other than that exchange information roads are really bad really take your time it's bad out there level three if you're not an emergency responder you are not allowed on the roads you will get ticketed you will get pulled over do not get on the roads

00:13:56 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 7:

unless you absolutely can you imagine if they said that to michiganders we would all be

00:14:02 - 00:14:11 | Speaker 4:

ticketed and pulled over and they don't every time there's a level three i get pulled over every single time they do not joke around when it comes to that so don't go on the roads unless

00:14:11 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 7:

you absolutely have to you guys treat snow like people treat hurricanes you got like different

00:14:17 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 6:

numbers and stuff with them michigan we're like level one's just a blue light we just got a cheap watery beer level two we're going up to tequila now you really got to take care of some serious level three is the hard stuff that's where you really got to be careful i think it really does

00:14:32 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 4:

help the emergency services though i think that's why they do it in my brain though the higher the

00:14:37 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 7:

level the like the bigger the challenge like it's like a game like level five right you'll lose the You know what's wild, though, is that if it does come to level three, you can't leave the station to go home into that nice little, you know, couch of yours.

00:14:51 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 4:

So are you ready for this? Yeah. Technically, I am allowed to drive in a level three. Why? Because we're an emergency service. Oh, good.

00:15:00 - 00:15:13 | Speaker 8:

So technically I am allowed on the roads But I will get stuck here having to work all night I actually packed a bag because I am pretty sure I'm probably going to be stuck here all day And I'll probably just stay at my dad's apartment tonight

00:15:13 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 7:

I like that they call us emergency services

00:15:17 - 00:15:20 | Speaker 1:

Well, they do make us come in to tell everybody else to stay home

00:15:20 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 8:

It happens when the power goes out People turn on us

00:15:23 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 7:

Jesse, you may be the only person I've ever heard say this What is it, Jesse?

00:15:28 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 9:

i love the snow i love driving through the snow i don't know something about it i lived in

00:15:32 - 00:15:36 | Speaker 7:

minnesota for a long time so you're very used to it see i would think that that would make you

00:15:36 - 00:15:42 | Speaker 9:

hate the snow yeah kind of but i like driving it actually you know i have i don't know i don't

00:15:42 - 00:16:04 | Speaker 7:

get scared or anything yeah what do you drive you must have like a truck with a no i got a nissan i got a nissan rogue oh wow you know sometimes those are the best sometimes those you know like Chevy, you know, Equinoxes and, you know, Nissan Rogues and stuff like that. Those are like the better cars to drive than the big old SUVs that are probably sliding around out there.

00:16:04 - 00:16:08 | Speaker 9:

It doesn't slip. You know, I'm never slipping on it. Not so far, at least.

00:16:08 - 00:16:12 | Speaker 7:

Shannon's mom Buick is the mom Buick.

00:16:13 - 00:16:23 | Speaker 10:

I think it's a cool mom Buick. By the way, I'm looking at the traffic screen here in Detroit, and there are so many accidents. So please, please, please be careful.
