Showtime.

00:02:55 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 5:

Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. It is Monday, March the 6th. It's already March. And happy Monday it is after a kind of weird, crazy weather weekend. And we're going to start off with some rain, snow possible today. Nothing like what we had on Friday in the Detroit area. I'm going to tell you that while Mike was in West Michigan sipping wine and probably sitting, you know, you probably were out on the driveway roasting marshmallows, Mike.

00:04:00 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 7:

Look, we don't usually get the good weather. We usually get the heavy snow, and I'm telling you guys, and you're like, well, it's not that bad here. This weekend it was sunny and beautiful. Yeah. I did drink water.

00:04:10 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 5:

Well, listen, the weekend was sunny and beautiful here, but it was after Friday after we got, you know, in some places, 13 inches of snow, so it was pretty crazy.

00:04:21 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 7:

Did I see thundersnow, too?

00:04:22 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 5:

Yes. That was crazy.

00:04:24 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 7:

That was insane. It was crazy.

00:04:26 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, just very, very nutty stuff. And it was thick and heavy, and it was tough to move. And so, yeah, it was bad. Friday in the afternoon, it wasn't, like, horrible. And then all of a sudden, it was like the sky just opened up at, like, around, I don't know, like, 6 o'clock or something like that, 5 or 6 o'clock. and then it just was like blizzard like and then that's when the thunderstorm snow happened and honestly it was our payback for making fun of mike guys

00:05:00 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 1:

And that's everybody on this show because we've all made fun of him. Everyone. He lives in the polar vortex known as Grand Rapids. And Megan, did you get a chance? Did you make it up for your show in Royal Oak that you were going to be coming to? Why are you bringing it up?

00:05:14 - 00:05:15 | Unknown:

Oh, no.

00:05:16 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 3:

I'm so upset, you guys.

00:05:18 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 2:

Was it canceled because of weather?

00:05:19 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 3:

No, it was canceled because of truck drivers. And I'll tell you why. My brother and I were coming up for this, and we left four hours early. We left at 6 o'clock, doors opened at 9, the show started at 10. And we made it up as far as Monroe before turning back. And I can 100% say the reason why we decided to turn back was because of semi-truck drivers. The way that they were driving on Friday night was wild.

00:05:48 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 1:

You better be careful. Remember, those are our only listeners since COVID.

00:05:51 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

I don't care. Y'all were wild in these streets, literally, on Friday night. because everybody, like, in a regular car was driving very cautiously. I mean, the most you were driving was 50 miles an hour, and these semis were flying and changing lanes like it was the Daytona 500. My brother and I just kept thinking of that huge car pileup that happened not too long ago, and we're like, this is going to happen again. This is going to happen. One of these trucks is going to slide into somebody going 70 miles an hour. Like, this is, there was no way they were going 70. They were going 90 in my mind, probably not, but in my mind, they were flying, and it was so, so scary. We almost saw a semi smoke a little Honda, and we were like, all right, I think we're done. I think we're done. I think we should go back because this is getting super dangerous. Yeah. So I cried for a good 30 minutes on my way home because this is the fourth thing I've bought tickets to that I haven't been able to make in the past six months, and I'm really over it with how expensive everything is.

00:06:55 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 1:

What were the reasons for the other ones not being able to make it to it?

00:06:59 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

Rage Against the Machine canceled. And I don't know if that was, was that the injury or was?

00:07:04 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. That got moved because of COVID, then COVID again, then band injury.

00:07:09 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 3:

Right. And then the avalanche, one of them is super sick and it kind of sounds like they might be dying. So I can't really complain about that, but one of them is super sick. And then we had tickets to another show that got canceled. And then this one in Royal Oak.

00:07:22 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 1:

Oh, so the other ones got canceled. It was the one that you are most fond of, you're the biggest fan of, that would not cancel their show.

00:07:35 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 3:

The other three, all birthday presents for my brother. All of them keep getting canceled.

00:07:42 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 2:

Well, the bummer about this one was that they didn't cancel and they should have canceled because it was unsafe for people to go out Friday night.

00:07:50 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

Did you see video or photos from the show? Were people there? Yeah, but it wasn't a full room. Sean Strife went. Yeah.

00:07:59 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 1:

From our Channel 955 Detroit station. Who is it, again, that you went to go see?

00:08:05 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 3:

Sasha Colby from RuPaul's Drag Race. Sasha Colby. He's in the 15th.

00:08:09 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 2:

How did Sasha Colby get to the show? Because she was already in a hotel, probably in Royal Oak, so she didn't have to travel. So she was going to take that check regardless of how many people were going to be able to make it.

00:08:19 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:08:20 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

That's a bummer because it puts the fans at risk.

00:08:22 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I ate that money though That's the frustrating part I spent money on those tickets and I'm just not going to see

00:08:29 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

Can I tell you something That was interesting about this storm If you lived in certain Areas, like even in Farmington Hills Where our station is It got like half the amount of snow here That I got at my house Or got those people up in Clarkston

00:08:45 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 2:

It was really local Like really weird from neighborhood to neighborhood And zip code to zip code

00:08:50 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

So we had friends that were driving in from being out of town on a vacation, and they were, you know, coming back, and everybody was telling them, like, you know, Mark and Jody, do not drive. Like, get a hotel room in Ohio or whatever. And they're driving, and they're going by the airport, and they're like, there's nothing. They thought that we were all messing with them. And they were looking at the weather forecast thinking, ah, it's not even that bad. And as they passed the airport and started getting down 275 towards probably like Livonia area, it started becoming like a crazy blizzard. And that was the thing that was so nuts about your drive. You would have gotten halfway and probably besides the fact that you have those truckers that are nuts, which, by the way, they all listen to them. call us up our show trucker kenny trucker linden trucker uh you know uh gosh all howard howard i mean yeah i don't want i didn't want to come down and howard's still battling i'll call him nuts when he when he survives through cancer and stuff but um he is nuts though by the way and we love him yes but um but you could have gotten halfway through and then been oh this is

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 2:

not that bad but the problem would have been going home i was gonna say yeah i was going to make it

00:10:04 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 5:

there was no way i wasn't going to make it it was was i going to get stranded there or not

00:10:10 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 7:

yeah i took smith out for like a mommy son date and then andrew dropped off lucy to me and we i was like i'm gonna go my girlfriend invited us over she lives 0.8 miles from my house not even one mile so when i was going there it was like starting to snow i'm like oh we'll be fine this is nothing. You guys, it took me about 35 minutes to get home. I had to stop four times, got stuck in her driveway once, got stuck in another driveway on her street, trying to turn around and then got stuck on the main street right there in front of my house, trying to go home. It was

00:10:42 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 3:

absolutely insane. The speed at which it was coming down. I left Lake Oregon. There was just a few flurries falling. And then by the time I got on the highway, it was full blown. And then by the time i got halfway home i could not see the car in front of me and when i got home i couldn't get in my own driveway and everything was completely covered with like three inches of snow and i was

00:11:00 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 2:

like that was a 45 minute one hour commute my son had a sleepover with at buddy's house went over to a bunch of buddy's houses and he said that they all got stuck in the snow and it wasn't until and i can't remember what school it might have been it was probably like rochester adams or something like that the wrestling team was coming back from practice they had practiced that morning and they helped lift the car out of the snow because you legit had to finagle like you getting stuck in the snow it was so thick so heavy and and then when i took a walk yesterday around the

00:11:34 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 3:

neighborhood it looks like a tornado went through because every house has trees down yeah because

00:11:38 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 2:

of the ice again and again i know i know it's just been uh it's been crazy here uh i will say this thank god for sun we got to see some sunshine and that was that was incredible that completely changed and also melted a ton of the the snow off so a lot of that snow you know pretty much uh you know been melted away unless it's in areas like clarkston where you guys are going to be stuck with that for a while but um well we got to uh get uh find out what next show megan's going to and don't anybody buy tickets to it because there's going to be a problem with it uh what's

00:12:18 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 4:

up gary hey i'm just wondering to make a notation i just got to notice that every time megan talks about driving it's always the other driver's fault oh remember the story about four months ago and

00:12:30 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 2:

she almost rear-ended a car yes yes that's an interesting that's an almost rear-ended the guy

00:12:37 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 4:

What was he doing? Stopping at the light?

00:12:39 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:12:39 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 5:

Oh, he brake-checked me. Oh, am I responsible for other people brake-checking me now, too?

00:12:44 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 4:

Were you tailgating?

00:12:47 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 5:

Was I what?

00:12:48 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 3:

Tailgating.

00:12:48 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 4:

Were you tailgating them?

00:12:50 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 5:

No.

00:12:51 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 4:

Of course not, because it's always the other driver's fault. It's never Megan's driving.

00:12:55 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 5:

I mean, I don't know if you know this, but, like, typically I don't do a traffic report every day on my great driving conditions and how I don't have problems most of the time. But I can start doing that for you if you want. I could do my drive-in reports.

00:13:07 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 4:

Could it actually be not the driving condition, but the driver behind the wheel of the set vehicle?

00:13:12 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 2:

Oh.

00:13:13 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 6:

I'm pretty sure my brother yelling, this is pretty dangerous. I can't believe these truck drivers are doing this, was really the turnaround for me.

00:13:20 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 2:

Are you a trucker, Gary, and that's why you're calling and saying this? 26 years. I love it.

00:13:28 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 5:

You don't ever, truly, as a truck driver, you don't see other truck drivers on the road ever and go, that was a wild decision.

00:13:34 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 4:

Megan, you just asked the perfect question. Yes, you are right. I don't have bad truck drivers out here. I will give you that. I just happened to notice it. That popped into my head.

00:13:46 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 2:

Why do all truckers sound like Trucker Howard? You ever notice that?

00:13:50 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 4:

Wait, is he driving right now?

00:13:52 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 3:

Where are you driving, Gary?

00:13:54 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 4:

I'm in Western Michigan. I'm over at Mike's Neck of the Woods.

00:13:57 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 5:

Are you allowed to be on the phone while you're driving?

00:14:01 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 4:

I got to make your hands free.

00:14:03 - 00:14:10 | Speaker 3:

He could yell at you at the same time He's very

00:14:10 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 2:

By the way, I think Megan when she gets out of radio Is going to drive truck I think she'd be a phenomenal truck driver

00:14:16 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 5:

I'd really like to know when I'm going to retire
