Hey there, I'm Kat. I'm a college athlete. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which caused back pain and stiffness every day. With Cosentix, I'm able to stay active.

00:00:28 - 00:01:10 | Speaker 1:

Cosentix Secukinumab is prescribed for adults with active psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis. Available in both IV infusion and self-injection. Don't use if allergic to Cosentix. Get checked for TB before starting. Increased risk of infections and lowered ability to fight them may occur. Like TB or other serious bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Some were fatal. Tell your doctor if you have an infection or symptoms like fevers, sweats, chills, muscle aches, or cough, had a vaccine or plan to, or if IBD symptoms develop or worsen. Serious allergic reactions and severe eczema-like skin reactions may occur. Learn more at 1-844-COSENTICS or cosentics.com.

00:01:10 - 00:01:14 | Speaker 3:

Move and feel better. Ask a rheumatologist about Cosentics.

00:01:15 - 00:01:47 | Speaker 2:

All right, it is Mojo in the morning. I mean, Shannon, what is this website that everybody keeps talking about?

00:01:53 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 6:

I don't know because I have not ordered from it, but I have heard everybody talking about the app and the website Timu. Ah, the dollar store of the online world. Yes, okay, so I remember, I'm not joking. You know it's one of those things like everybody's telling me about Timu, Timu, Timu, where if you go to it, apparently stuff is, like one of my friends the other day, he was like, I was looking for a phone case. Somebody told me to go on Timu. He got a phone case for $1.14, like an OtterBox knockoff on Timu. It was the Super Bowl commercial mojo that they said they claim like you can shop like a billionaire. Oh, yeah, yeah. And so now they're saying that it is the second most used shopping app after Amazon. Really? Absolutely not. I feel bad for those people. But I feel like it is this like it's straight out of China, even though they say they're out of like Massachusetts or something. But their parent company is out of China. Or as President Trump said, China. China. And there's, like, all sorts of just, like, conspiracy theories about what Timu is and how they can not only steal information from your phone or computer, but, like, track you.

00:02:59 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 8:

Oh, Megan's going to be on it. I love it.

00:03:01 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 7:

I'm here for it. I can't wait to waste somebody's time following me around to do nothing. But it's, like, Wish, but worse. Oh, really?

00:03:09 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 6:

See, I didn't even know what Wish is. What is Wish? Same thing, like a cheap shopping website? Yeah, yeah.

00:03:14 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, but this is, like, even cheaper, which makes me think that the conditions have to be even worse. Yeah.

00:03:21 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 8:

Is it good stuff? Like, I mean, there are some good knockoffs. Like, I've seen people that will wear, you know, some designer stuff, and you're like, oh, my God, that person's got some, like, really expensive stuff on. Okay, so I'm on it right now.

00:03:34 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 6:

Hang on. I don't want to spin. Here you go. I just want $100 of that spin.

00:03:38 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 8:

Oh, wow. There's actually some nice.

00:03:39 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 6:

Right. Like, you know.

00:03:41 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 8:

Oh, it's got, like, everything. It's got everything from, like, nose trimmers to, like, power cords for your computer.

00:03:47 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 7:

This is one of those websites, though, that I want to buy stuff and then make a YouTube or a TikTok video, and it's, like, what I thought I was buying and then what I got.

00:03:55 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 6:

So that's the thing I want to hear from people because I saw people posting, like, what they bought, and then what you get sometimes is not even close to what you thought it was going to be, but, like, you paid 60 cents for it. So, oh, well.

00:04:09 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 8:

Justina, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning. You do Timu?

00:04:11 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 4:

So I have been using Timu now for a few weeks or so. My best friend has been using it for months and heavily recommended it to me. I am her matra of honor in her wedding, and her bachelorette party is over Labor Day weekend. I got all of her decorations and party favors for $65, and they are coming in in small batches, and they are all so wonderful so far. And I mean, like, similarly to what Shannon was just saying, like, it's 60 cents. So, like, it's not the end of the world. I'll find something else. But I have not been disappointed yet.

00:04:45 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 8:

What is the shipping, though? If they're charging only 60 cents for it, do they charge you a bunch for shipping?

00:04:49 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 6:

I think you have to spend $10 to get free shipping, right? Yeah.

00:04:53 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

It's not a large amount at all to qualify for that free shipping. And you can pay for more for, like, X.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 2:

that i did shipping but they'll also give you a credit if you're shipping like if your shipment

00:05:04 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 4:

comes after is this stuff like stuff that will only last for like the one party or is it things that you would buy that actually you know might last you for a little bit because i always um like i bought i did that t-shirts.com thing where you buy and you could buy like a pack of five like cotton t-shirts uh for ten dollars well the t-shirts would be like once you washed them they were horrible yeah so it was like wash and i always wash my shirts right ahead of time but once you wash them after your first wear it was like they fall apart so somebody did like a deep

00:05:37 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 1:

dive on timu and said it's better business bureau rating is 2.2 out of 5 um it says i'm reading this thing timu gains full access to all of your contacts calendars and photo albums plus all of your social media accounts, chats, and texts.

00:05:52 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, jeez.

00:05:52 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 1:

In other words, literally everything on your phone.

00:05:55 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 4:

Wow. Andrea, go to Andrea, because, Andrea, what did you order?

00:06:00 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 2:

I've ordered from them about 18 times, and I've ordered hundreds of dollars. I've gotten one crappy thing, and it's been a smartwatch that I paid $0.98 for. And it's not that it didn't work. It's that it only held a charge for four hours. But you were talking about Timu having access to all of your stuff. Every social media thing that you ever use has access.

00:06:25 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 1:

But not connected to China is what the issue is, besides TikTok. It's the same as TikTok. And so now this is going to become another thing that you're going to hear about. Like we've been hearing about TikTok so much, and now Timu is going to become the new thing that you're going to hear about a ton.

00:06:39 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 4:

And here's the thing, though. So, you know, you click the I don't want them to get my info or I don't want them to track me or do any of that stuff. And I wonder always, does that really work? But also the idea that you just said what you just said kind of cracks me up a little bit because saying that is like saying, well, I'm not going to lock my car doors or I'm not going to lock my because who cares? You know, they're going to have access. They're going to get into it. And I think that you're still being a little naive. So you're going to just continue to order, you know, crap that's, like, cents and just give them everything? What if your credit cards get compromised?

00:07:16 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 2:

Like that. Why would you leave stuff like that in your car? You're just asking for someone to steal it. What did you just say? Right? I said, why leave stuff like that in your car? Aren't you just asking for someone to steal it? That stuff should be on your body.

00:07:30 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 4:

Okay. So basically what you're saying is you're saying that you don't care that somebody's going to take your own personal information, which to me is more valuable.

00:07:43 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 2:

I guess I grew up in a generation that everything is on the Internet. I mean, knock on wood, I pay for identity protection, not that it's going to, you know, necessarily protect me in the future.

00:07:55 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

But lifeline can only do so much.

00:07:58 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 3:

But I'm with her because I've shopped at big box stores before, and my credit card information got stolen there. That wasn't online, and that was at a major retailer. Like, it can happen anywhere. I'm getting sold on TV, you guys. I love this.

00:08:12 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 4:

No, no, no. Let me also do this one, too. I hear all the times where people will sit there and talk about, like, and I do not discount, you know, your philosophies and thoughts about, like, global warming and the world and all that stuff. But what about the sweat labor that goes into the stuff that you're doing?

00:08:29 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 1:

Well, so that's another component to this. They're comparing it to, like, Sheen. Yeah.

00:08:33 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 4:

So if you care about the world and about making sure that we all live healthier lives, what about the kids who are making your 98-cent smartwatch?

00:08:43 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 3:

I absolutely agree with you. I absolutely agree with you. I don't know how we fix that problem because you can't use your computer now or your phone or your car or, like, anything.

00:08:53 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

like i understand that but i'm just saying though you know it's like no you're right and i can't i

00:08:58 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

have to because i have to run the controls here but you know what i'm saying like it it's not just she just took my microphone away from it it's not just a cheap item thing but i also think then we we victimize people who aren't in a financial situation to afford the goods that are are here so i i do think it's kind of we're gonna go back and forth then maybe maybe here's the thing maybe

00:09:20 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 4:

We then, what we do is, we go on Timu right now, and we try to find, what else can we find on there?

00:09:27 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 3:

But the problem with websites like this is, I go for one thing, and then because everything is so cheap. Your birthday is when, next week?

00:09:31 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 4:

When is your birthday, next week?

00:09:33 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 3:

No. Two weeks. Two weeks? Is it two? Oh, yes. Here's the deal. Oh, no. I don't like that.

00:09:38 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Right, no, no. Here's the deal. It's a Timu birthday for Megan. Timu party. We're having a Timu party, and here's the deal. Why did I get screwed? Nobody can spend more than a dollar. My last skit for Megan was from wish.com It was supposed to be this big Harry Potter like wand I thought oh this is the greatest thing in the world it was a keychain.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 1:

Items are smaller than they appear.

00:10:02 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 2:

Every listener, every listener right now, you've got to go to T-MOO and buy Megan something and ship it to the radio station.

00:10:08 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 3:
