Mojo in the morning show. So, Shannon, it had to be really good for you to eat it out of a garbage can.

Oh, it is so good. I'll tell you what it is in a second. But because I had no power for so long, I had to clean out my refrigerator and my freezer. So yesterday, I finally made it back home. And I had to go grocery. Like, I had to fill my fridge and my freezer again. So I took Smith with me. We went to Kroger, of course. went to Trader Joe's my fave and one of the things that I buy from time to time at Trader Joe's and I know better because I know exactly what happens are the chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels. Ooh are they good? They're in like a copper colored bag they are literal heaven in like a little pretzel nugget

and where are they? Did you not bring any in for us?

Well I didn't because I started eating them yesterday afternoon and I knew that I was going down a bad road because half the bag just all of a sudden disappeared so you guys know i do this i took the bag and dumped it into my garbage i did not want to eat anymore and if i i have no willpower so i can't even close it and put it in my pantry or a cupboard or hide it nope it doesn't you know you'll go back and get i will go right back and get it so i thought if i dump all the little chocolate covered nuggets of goodness into my garbage i'm i'm done i'm good which by the way

You said you had thrown a bunch of garbage out, too, right? Yeah, I mean. So there was other crap in there.

Yeah, yeah. Well, fast forward to after dinner last night. I wanted those pretzels so bad. So what did I do? I dug into the garbage, and I reached down the sides where I knew they were, and I got a few more and ate them. And my children, Lucy specifically, looked disgusted with me. and she goes mommy it's not even a treat day we have treat days in our house because my kids have such bad cavities so we made them pick you have we make them pick two days out of the week where they can actually have my gosh um yes i know we're mean parents but 27 cavities later that's

our method you're like my my mom and dad they never gave us treats when we were kids i feel Like, every day in my house is a treat dick.

Well, I mean, you know.

Yeah.

And, yeah, that was it. That's wild. They are so good. They are so addictive.

By the way, you should be doing commercials for these pretzel, chocolate-covered pretzels. Chocolate-covered peanut butter pretzels. They're so good, you ate it out of a garbage can. It's funny.

And not in the bag. I mean, I dumped the bag, so the pretzels were in there by themselves.

The other night, we ordered DoorDash Chinese food. and your meal came with whatever you wanted and Luke threw away his fried rice that he had.

Oh, heaven forbid.

You can't throw fried rice away. Fried rice is great.

Was it chicken fried rice?

It was chicken fried rice and it was still in the container. So I, of course, had to go dig deep down into the garbage can because it was heavy. It fell all the way to the bottom. And I pull my hand out of there. As I pull my hand out of there, there's like yogurt on my hand and there's...

Yeah, I don't know. Just be careful it's not maggots.

Well, I mean, I'm probably taking the garbage out every day. It was fresh garbage.

How dare you thinking that our homes are that dirty, that we have maggots. We eat all of our food. That's why we don't have maggots, Shannon, right? You eat out of a garbage can, you don't get maggots. Well, by the way, what was the stuff you had to throw away that was the grossest thing? Because when you clean out your refrigerator after a power out.

Just like that cheese and all that stuff?

No, you know what it was? So Charlie, my toy poodle is 13 years old. And so I have to feed him canned, fresh dog food, like the wet dog food. And so I had a can open and I put like cling wrap, like sticky wrap on top of it. But it still smelled so bad when I opened that fridge.

You ate the pretzels?

Well, I mean, I had thrown away like two other garbage bags before even the one that the coveted pretzels were in. Oh, so the dog, okay. But there were still all sorts of other things in there. Yes.

If Charlie's smelly dog food was on this, would you clean off the pretzel and then eat it? Or would you just say, no, I'm done. I can't do it.

I might say I'm done, but I'm not positive about that answer.

Because I'm telling you.

Well, you just take the pretzel in the other room until the dissipated smell of the dog food.

My New Year's resolution was to stop eating cookies, so I threw everything away. I didn't even make it until 1 a.m., and I was eating cookies out of the trash.

I'm about to do that with all the snacks in our office because I keep eating those chocolates. And the chips have a bag of Doritos, have a bag of ruffles. All the Slim Jims are gone.

Why don't you put them on the sales table? The salespeople will eat all those.

Yeah, yeah, that's a good idea.

She's not that committed. to getting rid of it.

It's going to be me going back there.

What do you mean?

Well, there's some people. See, I don't go to Trader Joe's, all right? So Chelsea, every now and again, we'll stop in there. Or friends of mine about them. I refuse to go into Trader Joe's. The reason why, I feel like the people there, I've gone in one time in my life. I felt like I was judged because I didn't know the store. I feel like the people at Trader Joe's are judgy people. Not the people that work there. I'm talking about the people that shop there.

In the More Mojo podcast last week, we were talking about how super pleasant and awesome the people that check you out at the register are, but how rude the customers are. Because it's a small, tight store, and people act like you've got to know exactly where you're going and why you're blocking this.

How dare you be looking for something?

I would not consider myself one of the judgy people. I'm probably one of the people getting judged because I had a five-year-old with his own shopping cart. Kids love those.

I feel like you would get judged every year. I am sure people hated me. Trader Joe's is the only grocery store where I'm truly worried for my ankles the entire time. And you should be.

And he's like, what are you talking about? I'm like, oh, my God. So this whole huge trash can, which just has, like, you know, we threw away, like, meat, nacho cheese, chili, all this stuff. And I had to literally pull it out and dig through the whole thing to find it. And I didn't find it until I got all the way to the bottom, and it was covered in, like, cheese, chili, all this stuff. And those are expensive.

You're not getting new ones. You're washing them and putting them back in. Yeah, what did you do? Did you put it in any disinfectant or something?

Yeah, so I, like, sprayed it off and let it soak and disinfect it.
